As an mature man, I am 26 years old, I like brands that are more catering to the kind of guy I am: simple and unpretentious; I want clothes for the real life with a creative edge.

6. Maison Martin Margiela, the grimy.

The Margiela Man used to be a dancer until he injured his  left knee during a one off performance consisting of loops and exerpt of Pina Bausch as a comment on how they influenced Ana Teresa De Keersmaeker aesthetics. Now, he is just a man, limping down the street.

5. Acne Studios, the haunted.

The Acne Man inherited his mother colossal fortune when she mysteriously past away last winter, he is living in a secluded manor visited by the devil at night,  on an remote island off the shore of Sweden. His hobbies include salmon farming and insomnia.

4. Ami, the tender.

The Ami Man is a yummy daddy, the one buying lactose free milk and cereal at the grocery store, he could easily be mistaken for an available gay guy if his tattooed «Charlotte, je t’aime» on his forearm and his fresh copy of «Kindling Quaterly» hadn’t already gave his preference away.

3. Christophe Lemaire, the humble.

The Lemaire Man just came back from 3 years spent amongst Japanese buddhist monks. Clothes are not possessions for him, they are objects fulfilling a function.

2. Raf Simons / Walter Van Beirendonck, the glam.

The Simons/Beirendonck Man used to own the «Coco Banana»  THE place to be in the 70’s in Antwerpen, he gave a lot of his clothes to Bowie before Ziggy Stardust even happened. Now, he is just an eccentric  party queen with a taste for younger guys.

1. Valentino, the exquisite.

The Valentino Man his the heir of a industrial italian family, he is almost a Cambridge MBA graduate, but doesn’t really know if he want to work next year. He might spend a year or two in Paris, french are great kissers, he has been told.

The Stefan Schneider Man from last winter is the Dries Van Noten Man this season.

Lights. Camera. SHOWTIME.

Those of you who also follow me on Instagram & Twitter (@gretasdrawer) may have noticed where I was last Friday – how could you not, I have literally spammed my excitment all over the social networks!

For the first time  e v e r  I was invited at Berlin Fashion Week by the lovely team at Shop Style Germany (check them out, they give brilliant style tips!) to attend Miranda Konstantinidou FW13 fashion show and, blimey, what a show! Miranda does not mind there are 4 seasons every year. On her world it’s always summer. Now that’s my kind of world.

The show was divided into two parts or, better, two moods – Space Nights & Always Summer Somewhere – however all in all it had a smooth continuity of mini and maxi bodicon dresses combined with floaty, silky draped kaftans and jackets – in seriously bright, funky colors. The Miranda Konstantinidou woman is not afraid to go bold and, why not, even show a little bit of skin.

The icing on the cake? The eclectic, Versace-inspired prints and the stunning intricate jewelry (Miranda also designs for jewelry brand Konplott) – even on those über hippy sunnies!

Se mi seguite anche su Instagram e Twitter (@gretasdrawer) avrete sicuramente notato dove sono stata lo scorso Venerdi’ – come non potevate, vi ho letteralmente spammato tutti i social network!

Per la prima volta in  a s s o l u t o  sono stata invitata alla settimana della moda di Berlino da Shop Style Germany (dateci un’occhiata, danno dei consigli in quanto a stile favolosi!) a vedere la sfilata A/I13 di Miranda Konstantinidou e che spettacolo! A Miranda non importa che esistino 4 stagioni all’anno. Nel suo mondo e’sempre estate – proprio il mio mondo ideale.

La sfilata e’ stata divisa in due parti, o meglio, mood – Space Nights e Always Summer Somewhere – ma ha comunque mostrato una collezione omogenea di abiti mini e maxi aderenti, portati con giacche leggerissime e fluttuanti di seta in colori super funky. Secondo Miranda Konstantinidou, le sue donne sono audaci e non hanno timore a mostrare un po’ di pelle.

La ciliegina sulla torta? I motivi eclettici, quasi ispirati da Versace e i gioielli intricati (Miranda e’ anche designer del brand di gioielli Konplott) – persino sugli occhiali da sole – troppo hippy!

I’m finally back with a review of the EPIC Love Angels’ Fashion Show. Let me tell you all, it was absolutely AWESOME, not only was Pierce’s outfits creative and on-point but so was the show.He presented his latest collections in a four segment show, with each segment having a different theme and SCENERY. Mhm, thats right, he changed the layout between each segment and that is the FIRST time I ever seen that done at a Fashion Show. What could have easily been disastrous, ultimately turned out to be an AWESOME choice. As for those who brought tickets for the show which were around 3k, went home with a few pieces of Pierce’s collection, along with an exclusive {not sold in catalog} outfit from the show. So believe me, those who purchased the ticket got their money’s worth. Since I was in it I was unable to take any pictures of us walking but I was able to get a picture of the finale and I took a few in my photo room.

Since the Gallianogate last season, paris fashion week is not the same again.

Since then, the current fashion system – inherited from the mid-nineties- is showing its own limitations.

The magic recipe; old french couture house + crazy young designer = billions of euros selling handbags, shoes ,perfumes and makeup thanks to the fashion show aura, is not enough anymore.

That equation is  fastly evolving nowadays, for better and far worst.

Four words: DW by Kanye West.

Fashion lines designed by stars is old news.

Some might remember fashion line designed by Madonna, J-Lo, P Didy (who actually won a CFDA), Lilly Allen, 50 Cent, Bono’s wife, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, Pharrel Williams, Nelly, Eminem, LL Cool J, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Victoria Beckam (helped by Roland Mouret). They all try to play the fashion game.

I have nothing against Kanye fashion interest.

It’s wonderfull to see him being curious and passionated.

Being an expert, nowadays, is not limited to those who have the knowledge, the mean and connexions but it’s open to anyone with the will and dedication. Practice makes perfect.

Kanye seems really willing to learn: internship applications, Saint Martins application,being mentored by designer such as Kim Jones, Louise Goldin, Katy Eary or even Louise Wilson Central Saint Martins’ Professor.

La crème de la crème!

What’s really intriguing in this is the front row: Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Jared Leto, Terry Richardson, Joseph Altuzarra, Dean and Dan Caten (Dsquared), Jeremy Scott, Azzedine Alaïa, Alexander Wang, Mr Hudson, Sky Ferreira, Ciara and some influencial bloggers.

I totally understand their curiosity about it.

Now, here is what really disturb me. As a young designer, the first fashion show is crucial. Gathering press, buyers and stars is only possible after a certain amount of work. But Kanye never had to work hard: his collection was weak, unfocused and slapdashed. There will be no terrible financial aftermath to his collection, it’s going to sell well thanks to his name on the tag, and he will be more rich/arrogant.

Crisis? What crisis?

I have to check twice to make sure if it is the collection of Dries Van Noten,,,,like the real Dries Van Noten.

And my 1st though was “What were they thinking?” Why this great brand should made a collection of “Cow”? Just look at those bleach jeans and shirt? We all know bleach thing is a trend right now, but these? Just like design project for fashion student.

And the way the colours presented are bad as well. Too “die” and pale. The worst army green and blue jeans colour I ever seen.
In this current condition, where economy is still on its way 2 recover, people still pay attention on how to spend their fortune. And buy this kind of clothes maybe is not on people list. And even they do, it just for certain people who dares to wear outfit like cow skin. The only thing people might buy from this collection is the (black)handbag.

Missed those Spring 2010 collection,,,,!
