Cheap Monday Fashion Show

Puuuuuha . Jeg kunne seriøst bruge 10000 kroner på Just Eat lige nu, men det må man jo ikke .. Jeg har så stjerne mange tømmermænd at det er helt uhyggeligt, og jeg kom måske også til at sove lidt (meget) for længe, men det var det hele værd! Jeg var nemlig til Cheap Monday Fashion Show/Butiksåbning/Afterparty i går og det gik vildt for sig . Modeshowet var fabulous, og tøjet var SÅ lækkert .. Det gik rigtigt godt, men der var desværre et par uheld, dem skal vi dog ikke tale om .

Anledningen af det hele var at Cheap Monday åbnede en forretning i København, og det gjorde de så sandelig med et brag . Til festen var der nemlig DJ’s, masser af våde varer og selvfølgelig hele Københavns slæng af bloggere, fashionista’s og andet blandet godtfolk . Hvad der skete til festen kan i dog få senere for nu vil jeg bare vise nogle billeder fra det suuuper svedige fashionshow.

Cheap Monday Fashion Show

Og der er jo selvfølgelig ikke noget spørgsmål om at jeg er HELT vild med den her kollektion, altså jeg elsker at den er så dekonstrueret, jeg elsker at den er så rå og mest af alt elsker jeg at den er så trendsættende .. Jeg syntes personligt ikke at jeg har set så stærk en kollektion i lang tid og jeg var klar til at smide dankortet i nakken på Cheap Monday liiiiiige med det samme .. Jeg elskede især skoene, som ikke rigtigt er highligtet her, men jeg skal nok smide et billede op på et tidspunkt .. Betragt det her som en teaser ..

Nu vil jeg sumpe videre i dagens program .. gaaaaaaaah

She Keeps Working

While K is putting in over 50 hr weeks at her job, when she started there she also had a few freelance jobs to finish.

One client found her at the summer designer show on Daley Plaza. (That sure netted extra contacts well! Two deliveries for a top Federal Judge there! Yahoo!!)

This client was designing outfits for a Macy’s show and asked K to provide hair accessories for the models. K said later this was a much bigger deal than she realized at the start!

Tonight I got invited to come and photograph this years grad class putting on their annual fashion show. It was so much fun! It is amazing how some of these guys I have watched grow up, even babysit for me! Congratulations Grad Class 2010!

More goodies from this weeks Opium’s Spotlight Barbarella Cioc of B!Fashion. Today I give you Olivia, This sinfully elegant mini dress is edged in lace and jewels around the bodice and skirt. The lacy sleeves taper down into 3/4 length gloves edged in the same jeweled lace that edges the skirt.

Add the lacy backskirt tied with a silken black bow and you are sure to catch their eyes coming and going.

Project Runway Season 6 Review

Is it just me, or should Carol Hannah have won Project Runway? Please, don’t get me wrong. I completely understand and appreciate Irana’s collection & the strong female persona behind it. While the character that inspired her look is not unique; her use of pleating and approach with other details certainly was. However, some of the looks felt way more like costumes (especially when paired with those felt helmets). I don’t think the over all offering appeals to as many women as it could How many of those pieces would sell to people whose job doesn’t involve tabloids.

Carol Hannah’s collection on the other hand, had me at ‘hello’. Her first look was amazing. I could see a version of that dress at any length and in many colors. It had so much personality. And as impressed as I was by her first look, the rest of her show did not disappoint. The judges said she lost points because her collection “lacked a connective thread”. I disagree. I think the connective element is the fashionable real women who would buy and wear those pieces.

One thing is for sure, this season was full of promising talent. I also liked the surprise of a “thirteenth look” request for the final three contestants. Maybe lifetime has a little fashion bug up their sleeve after all.
