Ford Men’s Ed Marquezini and Isaac featured for the Buckler menswear S/S 11 collection by designer Andrew Buckler. Drawing inspiration from the 1924 Olympic Games and Bauhaus (architectural movement and rock band) the collection quoted freely from square forms an early 1980s new wave soundtrack. The actual public presentation of the collection took place in the Box at Lincoln Center where Ed, Isaac, and the rest of the models stood stoically whilst a gallery of onlookers circled them.

Introducing Johan Johansson

The days leading up to Fashion Week are hectic to say the very least, but one of the highlights during it all is meeting the models who come to town and many of whom for the first time. Meet Johan Johansson, 6’1½” (187 cm), 23-years-old, who is newly in New York from, wait for it, Sweden! Having walked for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Costume National, Etro in Europe, the Swede is keen to mark his New York Fashion Week debut in style. The Umea, Sweden native is aided in no small part by a palpable enthusiasm for this relatively new occupation of his.

Blessed with Scandinavian good looks and a refined romantic charm that would not be out-of-place in Northern Italy it is surprising Johan did not take to modeling sooner than he did. Three years ago Johan was spotted by a model scout in Los Angeles whilst on holiday, but he did not answer the call. Johan only later took seriously the modeling suggestion upon being scouted once more, but this time in his native Sweden by his soon-to-be mother agent. Fast forward to today Johan is an established model keen to bridge the Atlantic divide with a strong New York debut.

Outside of modeling Johan enjoys painting and football. Although the former left-sided midfielder does not play as regularly as he did as a teenager, he is no less passionate for the beautiful game, supports Manchester United, and counts fiery Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic as one of his favorite players. Passion also runs high in his love life with his recent engagement to a lovely Swedish model named Michaela. Johan asked his now fiancée to marry him along Italy’s Almafi Coast. Johan possesses a look, charisma, and maturity that belies his years that will surely also enchant clients. Look for Johan Johansson in Fashion Week S/S 11.

Ford Men Show Package NY S/S 11

Wednesday the Ford Men show package for New York S/S 11 went live on MDC and The Fashionisto with a total of forty-four boys. Menswear has a somewhat unfair reputation of being the drab counterpart to that of the opposite of sex. However, what many consider a truism about menswear has never been the case for the juggernaut that is Ford Men. The men’s show package is an entirely different proposition compared to the work of art that is Paul Rowland‘s Ford Vol. 1, but all the same it would be foolish not to marvel at its many strengths, depth of talent not least of which.

The Ford Men S/S 11 show package draws on proven charges in Aiden Andrews, AJ Abualrub, Christian Brylle, Ethan James, Isaac Carew, Isaac Weber, Ian O’Brien, Linus Gustin, Max Motta, and Paolo Anchisi. Furthermore new boys Asa Fox, Bobby Nicholas, Daje, Ford Smith, Michael Wozniak, and Gadir Rajab amongst others will give designers showing in New York an option that many of their European counterparts hadn’t available in July at the shows in Milan and Paris. How’s that for drab? Make way, ladies, Ford Men are on the charge.
