Delphine ‘Dey Dey’ Nguyen is een Franse funk styles dancer met Vietnamese roots. Ze schreef geschiedenis door in 2009 als eerste vrouw de solo popping battle op de UK Bboy Championships te winnen! In 2010 won ze Juste Debout, één van de belangrijkste stand up battles. Dey Dey hoort bij de top female poppers van de wereld en is geschoold door popping pioniers als de Electric Boogaloos en de Original Lockers. Ze heeft gewerkt met artiesten als DJ Martin Solveig en Kate Perry. Dey Dey speelt de rol van Yoyo in Streetdance 2 3D die dit voorjaar in première gaat.

De Spin Off finale is op 30 juni in de Rabozaal van de Melkweg.

Ook in 2012 knalt de 1984 Posse keihard door om te bouwen aan een Noordelijke BBoy en HipHop scene! Ditmaal beginnen we direct het eerste weekend van Januari!!

“EEN HEEL WEEKEND LANG??!! WTF?! What’s the plan!?”
nou.. de planning is als volgt:

VRIJDAG 6 JANUARI
borrelen, gezelligheid, socialicen etc met funky soulvolle en hiphop beats van niemand minder dan DJ Irie en Liquid (bijgestaan door de overige aanwezige DJ’s). Entree is GRATIS, Bier en overgebleven rondslingerende Oliebollen kun je van genieten in ruil voor een kleine vergoeding.

ZATERDAG 7 JANUARI
Workshops en trainingsessies. Werken aan je skillz, bloed, zweet en tranen, je grenzen opzoeken en verleggen, maximale inspanning totdat je over je nek gaat (kostzakjes op aanvraag), knowledge vergaren en simpelweg een betere bboy/bgirl worden. Dit alles wordt gerealiseerd tijdens workshops van:

  • James Puppet (HKZ)
  • Rabani (HKZ)
  • Koko (EXG)
  • more TBA

kosten van de workshops:
1 workshop = 5 euro
alle workshops = 10 euro

Na al dit bboy geweld, is er nog ruimte om te dansen, te viben etc maar uiteraard is er ook weer ruimte om te chillen en bij te komen. Als je echt skillz hebt, kun je misschien 1 van de aanwezige dames zover krijgen om je een massage te geven.. alles kan.

HEERLEN International Hip Hop Dance Festival

After the completely sold out 2010 event, the city of Heerlen is preparing for the 11th edition of one of the World’s biggest International Hip Hop Dance festival, The Notorious IBE. This unique festival brings the world’s best dancers from backgrounds such as Breakdance, Popping, Locking, New Style and other connected styles to the hospitable city.

Since 2008, when the festival moved to the city of Heerlen, located in the south of the Netherlands, it has grown to become one of the most important and influential festivals worldwide. In 2010, more than 8000 visitors from over 35 different countries attended the IBE. Majority of the attendees participated in the many organised battles, workshops, and discussions.

In tradition of the IBE, the 2011 Edition is full of special programs. On Friday, September 9th, 2011, the festival opening day, The Notorious IBE will feature the infamous “Seven2Smoke” Battle. This thrilling 1on1 competition features a selection of the eight top B-boys. On Saturday, September 10th, 2011, many more battles, workshops, discussions will be taking place in nine separate locations throughout Heerlen. Also not to be missed on this same day, the European Finals for the UK BBoy Championships. This championship features approximately 80 European BBoy crews competing for the tickets to the World Finals in London.

On the third and final day of the festival, a new edition of the “All Battles All” will take place. A selection of the best dancers will represent their continent in this all-star battle. In addition to the United States and Europe, 2011 will premiere the first time Latin-America team in IBE history. Throughout the weekend, the festival will also feature organized special battles such as the Powermove Battle, Solo BBoy Kids Battle, Stand Up Dance, Trick Battle and many more…
