In choosing a car, you may find yourself drawn to three-door ‘hatches’ or ‘fastbacks’ for several reasons.

At a practical level, you can do a lot more with a hatch. Buy appliances. Cart firewood. Sleep. Such multitasking of an expensive consumer durable good is attractive.

At a social level, you’re not likely to have hordes of friends or family members to cart around.

At an emotional level, you feel safer in a hatch, as there are no side doors behind you through which attackers may force their way.

Bullying and long term alcohol use increase fear of attack.

Reduction of these deleterious elements earlier in life will broaden your motor vehicle choice down the road.

Have you ever felt like you just weren’t good enough? Like maybe you weren’t pretty enough or werent’ smart enough. Maybe you’ve felt like you weren’t desirable enough. Self image can be a powerful factor in how we go about living our lives. A poor self image can lead to serious problems. It is very easy to buy into the worlds idea of what is pretty, sexy, good, desireable, important and valuable. When you buy into the world’s value system you automatically set yourself up for failure. The worlds ideals change with the whims of man and cultures. What is valuable to one society is not valuable or desireable to another. What is deemed as important to one generation changes with the next.

I was reading a recent issue of Hot Rod magazine and there was an article entitled Coupe 2 Fastback. This article detailed how to convert a less desireable 1969 Mustang coupe into a highly desireable fastback model using an aftermarket kit. Needless to say this requires a lot of work and expertise to successfully pull this off. In the hands of a skilled craftsman and through much labor and sweat the ugly duckling is turned into a beautiful swan. The truth of the matter is that NONE of us, under our own power, are beautiful enough or good enough, or righteous. ALL of us are born with a deficiency that we have no power to overcome, sin. We all are in a state of disrepair and in need of a overhaul in order to give us beauty above and beyond what we deserve. Only through the blood, sweat and tears of the master craftsman, God and his son, Jesus Christ, can we be made pure and holy.

When viewed through the eyes of a loving savior all of us have value and all of us are worth dying for. Don’t be fooled into finding your value through the eyes of the world. Find your value in a personal relationship with the master craftsman who can transform your life and give you true purpose.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 “Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons!”

Galatians 6:14-15 “For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. Can’t you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creating something totally new, a free life!”

This blog post goes for 60’s! Earlier I showed you some trailers from Mustang movies. I have also posted a lot of Mustang music videos. But now you can see the first steps of a Mustang in advertisement industry. There are more commercials of course and my blog is unlimited, but I really appreciate your time and trying to select the best ones:

First Mustang Commercial (1964) Ford Motor Company introduced the Mustang on April 16, 1964 with a commercial, shot at the New York World’s Fair.

This is my favorite from the 60’s, 1965 Ford Mustang Commercial

Stereo-sonic tape system in Mustang 1966

This commercial shows Ford Mustang full-line for 1967, featuring the new cabriolet and hardtop models.

Mustang makes it happen in 1968 commercial

According to this 1969 commercial Ford is the way you swing!

And I couldn’t hold this to the next entry, I love it, so funny! It’s from 2005, sorry

Qual o carro do malandro??Mustang.

O motor do Mustang é indescritivel.

Sabe as listras do Mustang?

Até a próxima e desculpem-me o atraso.

P.S:Para compensar meu atraso, dois vídeos do Mustang!

Every year it seems, as budgets get tighter and tighter for both schools and public libraries. Unfortunately, a large quantity of far too much of this budget will end up receiving the replacement paperback books, which have fallen apart, or purchase of new trade paperbacks that issued soon fall apart. However, schools and public libraries, which is itself a Powis Parker Fastback Binding Machine to their machine is put into use, and can prolong the life of these books.

Most paperback books are massManufactured by publishers for occasional use by individuals. They are made to read through a few times without falling apart. However, to obtain popular books in a library far more than they use. Within reads 4-5, to start the book block, from the cover and some pages may start to fall out of the book to separate. This is partly because the book does not completely block sits in the adhesive in the first binding process.
The 4-door coupé isn’t a recent fad that the Mercedes CLS and its fans and ignorant motor jour

The 4-door coupé isn’t a recent fad that the Mercedes CLS and its fans and ignorant motor journalists would have us believe. Sweeping coupé designs for saloons have been around for longer (take Robert Opron’s fastback saloons of the 70’s, or the Volvo S60), though the CLS somewhat popularised it. The band wagon is roomy, as many cars since have jumped on. The Citroen C6, the VW Passat CC, the Opel Insignia, the hardly-convincing Audi A5 Sportback (after all, it did start life out as a coupé to begin with) and the hideous and stupid BMW 5 series GT.

I’d say from this it’s a clearly a predominantly German fashion, with the funky little VW Passat by far the most attractive of the Kraut-auto flock (The Citroen C6 is by far the most attractive in the Global Auto range, but I digress). The BMW 5-series GT looks like a dwarfish, handicapped, stunted SUV, and the A5 Sportback comes across as a coupé with those extra doors jammed in to meet a marketing niche for stupid people. The VW looks balanced and smooth, with nice lines and a striking presence, which the Opel has, but in less measure. If I were ever to buy German (and I hope one day I’ll have the money to even consider these things), the Passat CC would be a probable choice.

However, VW has been like my old Citroën BX’s hydropneumatic system and has been leaking, though in this case, interesting information.

First, was a glimpse of the future Golf VII, which I found rather strange since the Golf VI was released this year. It’s like VW are saying “Yes, we know this current Golf is disappointing, so we’re making another one.” The Golf IV was so brilliant both the V and VI are but pale images that simply don’t have the same appeal (though the rise in quality from competitors also helps this notion). The Golf VII is trying to get VW’s family hatchback into the arena of ball-bashing success.

Second, was none other than a Golf CC (original link). Which on the surface seems a good idea, building on the Passat CC’s appeal and widening the choice amidst the Golf range. But then I think: this will kill the Jetta (unless it’s the next-gen Jetta) and probably overlap the Passat range. Doesn’t sound so smart any more, though I must admit I personally find the idea of a Golf CC very clever and appealing, especially if it has a panoramic roof like the Passat version.

Update 9/5
The car departed today with its’ new owner. I hope to one day update this page with the restored classic!

Update: 8/3
I moved the car to another garage, it’s much easier to get to the new location from the 90/94. I have the Title on hand. It is from the VIN number that I verified it’s a 1965. The dataplate indicates it’s a 1966 so it is probably not the original door, although most of the other information does match the VIN.

Needs Gas Pump and Battery. Right side tires are flat. I have some extra parts including the missing bulb from the picture. The underside is rusted. I am not sure if the car will start. This is being sold as-is. If you are in IL, it’s about 30mins from O’hare Airport.

The following are from the Dataplate decoder. I think it has 56K miles on the odometer. The Trans is Automatic.

I’ve received many emails describing issues viewing the pictures, I have not been able to reproduce the issue, but if you continue to experience this, please contact me and I will arrange to give you a good variety of pictures.

Here is a fun project that lets you make Moleskine-style notebooks with any of the Powis binders. Th

Here is a fun project that lets you make Moleskine-style notebooks with any of the Powis binders. The example shown above was made using a Fastback 15xs binder and the Foilfast printer.

To start, bind the book’s notebook paper with endleaves on either side. You can use any paper, but I recommend using something that is nice to write on, but not too heavy. For my notebook I chose 24-lb. Genesis Writing, Natural 100PCW, smooth finish, which I purchased at the local xpedx.

Next, attach a piece of cover stock or chipboard to the finished book block to provide some stiffness to the cover. I used Powis Comp Cover for my notebook. If you want a very thick and stiff cover, then use chipboard; if you want a thinner, more flexible cover, you can omit this step entirely. You can attach the cover stock/chipboard using Spray Mount, or rubber cement. If you have access to a Powis PhotoPress, the easiest way to attach the cover stock is with the Signature Single Mounting sheets in the PhotoPress.

Next, print your cover using a Foilfast printer. For mine, I used a variation on the crawling ants pattern that is sometimes used in design. I changed it to spiders because I happen to like spiders better. I kept it to one color, although you can print up to seven colors with the Foilfast. I also chose to use a black suede Foilfast Title sheet, because it comes the closest to a traditional Moleskine in appearance. You could just as easily use the Comp material. For a more minimal approach, you can simply print your name in gold or silver, or simply leave it blank, but where’s the fun in that?

Finally, trim the notebook to the size that you want. In my case, I made it a little longer than a traditional Moleskine, because that fits better in my coat pocket. I would also recommend rounding the corners (not shown here), to prevent fraying. If you need a corner rounder, Akiles has a nice one that is very inexpensive and easy to use. Accurate positioning can be a little tricky, so I would recommend a design that does not require exact positioning.

These are fun to make and also make great gifts. For those of you who are more visually inclined, I am also planning to make a YouTube video on how to do this. More on that later.

If you were lucky enough to grow up without all the crap of today that sucks our kid’s time and energy– video games, the internet, satellite t.v., then you might remember what it was like to ride your bike all day long with your buddies– crafting makeshift ramps, making up crazy stunts and tricks, and just having a honest-to-goodness blast cruising the streets until Mom called you in. For a lot of us, it was the beginning of a lifelong love affair with wheels. The Schwinn Sting-Ray was a two-wheeled blacktop beast back then– especially with the on-the-frame gear shift and a fat rear slick. It was the only bike that mattered– before the BMX madness struck, that is.

I feel sorry for these fat, lazy, spoiled kids of today– wasting away in front of their t.v. screens and computer monitors. Man– get outside you chubby little brats! Seriously– do you think kids are better off today? No friggin’ way. They wouldn’t last two seconds back in the day. It’s time to throw all that crap out and lock ‘em outside. A little road rash would definitely do the buggers good.

This is the fifth post that pits non-superheroes from the DC universe against characters from the Marvel universe. The first post looked at Westerns and Western heroes (http://foxhugh.wordpress.com/2009/02/13/dc-vs-marvel-western-heroes/), the second post looked at war comics and war heroes (http://foxhugh.wordpress.com/2009/03/21/dc-vs-marvel-war-heroes/), the third post looked at women’s comics and working women (http://foxhugh.wordpress.com/2009/04/11/dc-vs-marvel-working-women) and the fourth post looked at space operas and spacemen (http://foxhugh.wordpress.com/2009/04/20/dc-vs-marvel-spacemen/).

What is a funny animal in comic books? A funny animal is an anthropomorphic animal that is generally in humorous situations. Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are both famous examples of funny animals. Disney and Looney Tunes funny animals are much more famous and relevant than DC and Marvel funny animals and many readers may be surprised that DC and Marvel even have had their own funny animals. This is a bit of a media mystery. Superheroes have dominated comic books but not other media such as video. Funny animals would seem to be a natural genre for comic books and why they are so much more popular and prevalent in video than comic books is an interesting topic that deserves attention.

The funny animals of DC include Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew, Dodo and the Frog, Doodles Duck, Flippity & Flop, J. Rufus Lion, Nutsy Squirrel, Peter Panda, Peter Porkchops, Racoon Kids, Tito and his Burrito and the Three Mouseketeers. Warner Bros had a video series of Krypto the Super Dog. Warner Bros is the parent company of DC. Krypto is the dog of Superboy in DC but was rebotted by Warner Bros. DC also licensed the Fox and the Crow from Columbia and this comic book title ran

Funny Stuff was the title in which many of DC’s funny animals appeared including Dunbar Dodo and Fennimore Frog, J. Rufus Lion, the Three Mouseketeers, Peter Porkchops and the Racoon Kids. The Funny Stuff title ran from 1947 to 1957.

The funny animals of Marvel include Spider Ham, Super Rabbit and Top Dog. Spider Ham is a parody of Spider-Man. Marvel has far fewer funny animals than DC and they are all superhero parodies. Howard the Duck would be Marvel’s top funny animals. There was even a live action movie about Howard the Duck. The problem is that Howard the Duck is more superhero than funny animal. Howard the Duck exists in the mainstream Marvel Universe and is more a science fiction story than a funny animal story.

The only DC collection of funny animals that is around today is Captain Carrot and the Zoo crew, another superhero parody. Captain Carrot is more or less a parody of Superman. The other members of the Zoo Crew include Alley-Kat-Abra, Pig-Iron, Rubberduck, Yankee Poodle, Fastback, Little Cheese, and American Eagle. The top funny animal of DC is Captain Carrot. The top funny animal of Marvel is Spider Ham. The two top funny animals go at it.

Spider Ham is a spider that was turned into an anthropomorphic pig with more or less than same powers as Spider Man. Captain Carrot, as mentioned, has more or less the same superpowers as Superman but must eat a cosmic irradiated carrot to get the superpowers and they wear off after 24 hours. Captain Carrot keeps two carrots holstered on his belt for supplies. Superman can beat Spiderman easily so therefore Captain Carrot easily defeats Spider Ham.
