<p>While I was reading Men&#8217;s Health, Women&#8217;s Health and the latest Oxygen magazine this weekend camping, I came across a shocking stat: Alcohol consumption stalls metabolism of fat by 73%.  When you ingest alcohol, the liver goes straight to breaking that alcohol down.  Acetate is produced as a by-product which stalls fat metabolism. </p>
<p>So not only do you consume a lot of calories while drinking, you (meaning I) end up craving high fat, high calorie fast and/or junk food with something sweet (carrot cake).  Talk about a double whammy!  Just another reason to cut back on the booze!  Which I have.  I&#8217;m like down to 2-3 glasses on a Saturday night if I have anything at all!</p>

The Ultimate Dance Workout</em>, wobei ganz deutlich wird, was der Unterschied zwischen deutschen und amerikanischen Fitness-DVDs ist:</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#000000;">Während zum Beispiel Verena Brauwers in Durchschnittsleggings, Durschnittsträgertop, Durchschnittsmusik und genauso Durchschnittsfigur, mir bei ein paar Mal Arme in die Luft strecken <em>&#8220;Da kommen wir jetzt aber ganz schön ins Schwitzen&#8221;</em> zuruft, tanzen bei <em>Pump it up!</em> Frauen in Bikinihöschen, Stulpen und bauchfrei, zu schnellen Beats ihre Choreographie. Und vor allem: Bei diesen Frauen zeichnen sich Muskeln ab, von deren Existenz man zuvor nicht mal wusste. Hat man die DVD einmal durchgearbeitet, wundert es einen aber auch wirklich nicht mehr. Genauso bei <em>Billy Bootcamp</em>: Über den militärischen Führungsstil (<em>&#8220;Das hier ist ein Bootcamp, hier könnt ihr nicht aufgeben!</em>&#8220;) kann man ja streiten, aber die Motivation zu trainieren ist erheblich höher, wenn man sich Billy Blanks Trizeps anschaut oder den weiblichen Waschbrettbauch seiner Mitsportlerin Shirley.Verena Brauwers kann auch Spaß machen, keine Frage, aber gegen <em>Pump it up</em> und <em>Billys Bootcamp</em> ist sie einfach nur Aufwärmprogramm und wird bald wahrscheinlich nur noch Staubfänger sein.</span></p>
