I booked myself into the Hilton Garden Inn in Aberdeen which was really good value for the price I thought. I LOVE staying in nice hotels and this one ticked all the boxes! There was a fancy bed which allowed you to set the firmness of your mattress, free wifi, a raindrop shower which was divine with the complimentary Neutrogena toiletries. I would love a bathroom like that!

I then set about pampering myself with a hair appointment and I had Gelish nail gels applied to my toenails and a Shellac gel manicure on my fingernails.  I’d never had either of those before but love that they dry straight away so you don’t smudge them as soon as you leave the salon! They’re meant to be long lasting too, so that should save me having to change my nail polish every few days!

For lunch I headed to Little Rembrandts Cafe with my sister and friends, who not only serve great food, but they now also stock specially made tree bags and other local crafts!

I did a little bit of shopping before going out for tea with my friend before we headed to The Chocolate Bar in Ellon for a chocolate making class. We made ourselves sick with hot chocolate, chilli chocolate, marshmallow, orange and chocolate kebabs and loads of other delicious treats!

All I have left to show for it are these gingerbread people I decorated, the rest has all been eaten!

After all that we headed back to Aberdeen for a quick change and some Prosecco before hitting the town! And I wasn’t too wobbly after a night of dancing and cocktails to check out on time and head for lunch and the cinema!

As you can see I’ve already started on making my Crafty Nana felt teatime cakes pincushion! I couldn’t resist! Everything is pre-cut and the instructions are very clear so it’d be great for beginners and kids too.

The knitting book has pretty modern stuff in it and I’ve spotted some nice gloves and legwarmers I need to make for next winter!

And as I love a bit of pampering this fcuk set is perfect! I’ve never tried it before so I think I’ll use the diary to schedule in some me time to try it all!

I also got all of my Valentine’s treats delivered so, as promised, here they are:

The heart shaped tablet is from Phil Reo Crafts and I have yet to taste is but it looks amazing!

I also finally bought Gotye’s CD “Making Mirrors” so it was blasting in my car and I was singing along on my way to work today!

And I love this “Clink” greeting card from Le Petit Elefant. I love Genevieve’s illustrations and the story for this one is so sweet!

Even mooore tasty treats!

It’s getting warm (!) enough to start going fishing overnight again now so we’ve been braving the cooler conditions and enjoying the beauty of the lakes at the moment. This is Porth Reservoir a few weekends ago, idyllic. I often take my sewing down and sit in the bivvy or in the sunshine and craft, it’s the lovely thing about sewing that you can take it pretty much anywhere and enjoy the outdoors.

For mother’s day I made my mum this pretty ‘S’, for Shirley. She really liked it and I was so impressed with how it looked on my shelf that I’m tempted to make a big J. My colour scheme is primarily black and red, I can do something really lovely with that I think. (Brain has already started whirring so apologise for lack of concentration, he he)

Aren’t they just the sweetest little things?! Unfortunatly, they aren’t edible…I wish they were.

I think I shall be having a theme of all things tiny for the forseeable future!
