Whether you are hoping to find a better job, looking for advancement and a raise, simply needing more money just to make ends meet or trying to live off a fixed income, prosperity and income growth begin at home. It doesn’t matter whether you have an office, workstation, cubicle or a corner of the spare bedroom, prosperity and wealth or increasing your income starts exactly where you start your day, your home.

            According to Feng Shui principles, you receive what you focus your internal and external energy on. If you are focusing on “there’s never enough money,” then you are focusing on “not having enough money” and that is exactly what you receive.  Instead, create positive thoughts and energy to attract more income or a better job. Look around you, what you have mentally and physically energized in the past is what you have today. What you focus on today is what you will have in the future.

Create a Prosperity List

            Your words and thoughts are what create or manifest your intentions. Every positive thought, wish or whim has the potential to move your forward toward prosperity; or if the thoughts are negative, keep you exactly where you are today or perhaps worse off. First, you need to put an end to the negative thinking by telling yourself “No.” Anytime a negative thought pops into your head, just say “no more negative thinking,” and send the thought away or “delete it” or “clear it” from your thought process. Do whatever it takes to get rid of negative thinking to make room for prosperity thinking.

Then make a list of all the positive thoughts you can use to create more prosperity. If you are hoping for a raise your thought might be “my new raise really helps.” If you live on a fixed income your thought could be “my new financial advisor is helping me grown my funds.” If you are hoping to find a new job your thought might be “I love the challenges and responsibility of my new job.” Or, “my new job is providing me much needed extra income plus I’m learning new things”. What you should not hold onto is the specific job. Perhaps the job you thought you really wanted for years is not the right job for your specific talents and will not serve you well. Therefore, the new job you just got will meet your needs better plus you will learn the lessons you need to know for your life journey.

Create a number of variations of your prosperity thoughts so you can use them as positive reinforcement whenever self-sabotaging negative thoughts try to sneak in. Write them on slips of paper and put them everywhere if necessary to help your shift your thinking process.

Energize the Prosperity Areas of Your Home

            Once you have shifted to positive prosperity thinking, it’s time to shift the physical energy in your house to bring it into alignment with your intentions. Be sure to unclutter first the following four areas of your home.

1. Career Area: energize the north area of your living/family room with the water element. You can use a water fountain, a picture of a gently flowing stream or a fish tank filled with 7 gold and one black fish. If the black fish dies or any of the fish do not look healthy, replace them immediately.
2. Income/Wealth Area: energize the southeast area of your living/family room with something wooden, green or a healthy upward reaching plant or small tree. Each symbolizes the wood element which represents new growth, the beginning of new things and income, wealth and prosperity. This would also be a good area to put a wooden money pot with 7 coins (the new US gold $1.00 coins work great) to further energize your prosperity
3. Relationships Area: energize the southwest area of your living/family room with the earth element using such things as terra cotta pots or a vase filled with multiple colors shapes and sizes of silk flowers, each representing a potential relationship that will help you with your prosperity intentions. You can also use a collection of your favorite things to energize your many old and new relationships. Relationships are key to helping you create additional or new income and keep it.
4. Helpful People Area: energize the northwest area of your living/family room with the metal element using silver. You can use a picture of someone like Lance Armstrong and his Tour de France team framed in silver. Or, a silver trophy you’ve received for excellence or a picture of a parent that was particularly helpful. It’s teamwork and people that will help you create and find the prosperity you seek.

You can also energize your office, workstation, cubicle or desk using the same energy guidelines.

Financial prosperity is all about your intentions and creating the positive energy necessary to manifest the prosperity you desire. Remember, get rid of the negative thinking and replace it with the items on your prosperity thoughts list. Then unclutter the Feng Shui areas most relevant to prosperity and energize them to support your intention of improved prosperity.

Feng Shui has nothing to do with Religion! You see me in this blog in front a Buddha statue. There are many who worship Buddha, Christianity, Judaism and other religions and Feng Shui is not one of them! New Age feng shui can give this misconception that you must believe or have faith in Feng Shui for it to work. Or that you must use an object like a Chinese Dragon statue, or Buddha statue, horse, etc for the Feng Shui to be activated. This is not true in Classical Feng Shui that began in 618 during the Tang Dynasty in China. Feng Shui is religion-free and faith free.

According to The Spiritual Feng Shui, the location of the bathroom in your house affects how wealthy you are. Feng Shui is a spiritual practice that welcomes and comforts others and yourself within your home through organization and placement. The Spiritual Feng Shui states that these locations are bad for your personal wealth:

• Bathrooms next to or above the front door.
• Bathrooms on the second floor directly above the kitchen or front door
• Bathrooms in the center of the office
• Bathrooms under the stairs

I am not sure if this is correct, because my grandma and grandpa have a bathroom next to their front door. My grandpa was a doctor, so he is definitely living in comfort!

Hello! I am Pamila Faye and welcome to my BLOG! I am a Feng Shui practitioner in the Washington D.C. area. How did I get into Feng Shui? Hot Flashes!!! I know TMI! A friend of mine told me about a Chinese Doctor in Va. Who helped her with health issues using Chinese herbs. So that’s where I went and during our visit he asked me if I used Feng Shui for my Organizing business, I said, “No, I don’t know enough about it to use it properly”. So then he asked if he could show me how it works using my birthdate in his Bazi calculations. And when he started to tell me what my life journey was in my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s I was blown away!! It was all accurate, all of it!!!! I asked, “How can I learn this?” And 2 months later I began studying from a Chinese Master, Bazi, which is Chinese astrology. Then I studied Feng Shui, Ze Ri (Date Selection), Xuan Kong, with a Malaysian Master. I have learned only the Classic Feng Shui, which is the oldest and beginning form.

It has changed my life by allowing me to know why I do some things too much and some things too little and how to balance them both! It also allows me to see a forecast for what is ahead, based on the calculations of my home, office and personal birthchart. And do you want to know the most amazing thing? The birthchart and Feng Shui home calculations are ALWAYS CORRECT! The beauty of knowing them is we can use Man Luck to change the negatives by choice and heaven luck to capture the positives coming our way.

I helgen har jag varit på Sköna Hem och bl a lärt mig om den japanska filosofin Wabi sabi – som står för ödmjuk skönhet. Det handlar bl a om att se det vackra i tidens förlopp, skönheten i det enkla, anspråkslös inredning, hållbar utveckling, leva i nuet, osv.

Här ser man lite från våra övningar där vi skulle välja bland bilder, vilka hem som kändes Wabi sabi eller inte.

Likaså diskuterade vi massor av material. Det är stort område, men för att ringa in lite Wabi sabi som både livsstil och inredningstema kan man nämna: mjuka former, naturligt ljus, ekologiskt, kvalitet före kvantitet, drivved, blommor, sand, snäckor, handtillverkat… Ja, det var en mycket inspirerande helg!

  One tiny white paper star accents the extra penny container at the coffee shop this morning. It is a thing of beauty, a star. Star white, star bright. It is an idea, an ideal. A beacon, even shining, yet oddly pointed balanced and regular. 

    The paying customer receives a punch on a coffee card for every cup of coffee purchased. With ten punches you get the one free. This coffee shop uses a star hole punch. Ten cups is at least ten dollars. Ka ching!

   One heron flies above Palisades drive.  A complete walk on a lovely sunny morning. Fall is in session. A couple ride past on bicycles. Their fleece tops almost match, with just a shade of difference: one color is persimmon, the other pumpkin. Other colors in the fashion report are red and black and claret and black. Because it is a four day, I wear shades of purple or rich colors.

   Today is a day to look at the wealth corners; today is a day to examine relationships and do both in the context of wisdom, rational thought and creative eights. Not crazy, just creative.

I renewed my interest in rearranging furniture today. It only took one complaint that triggered my impulsive drive to do so. There was always something about Feng Shui that kept me in tune with the do’s and don’t’s. I quickly searched for some references on bedroom placement and sketch out a possible layout. After evaluating the sketch that it is proportionally feasible in the limited space I had, it was executed. Usually, it would take me half a day to finish rearranging, but today it only took roughly 4 hours to complete the task. Perhaps, it was the sketch instead of going with instincts.  I learned how to compartmentalized my room into 9 squares; where each one corresponds to a section of the BaQua. Here are steps:

1) sketch the layout of your room, like it would appear on a blueprint.

2) Try a Tic-Tac-Toe grid on the sketch. Your entrance to the room should be on the bottom right square

3) The different section should correspond to the following

First Row (L to R): Wealth-Fame-Relatioships

Second Row (L to R): Family-Health-Creativity/Children

Third Row (L to R):  Knowledge-Career-Friends/Travels

3) Now you’re ready to arrange furniture or objects that correspond to the layout. For example: in the knowledge region = a bookcase will suffice, family= pictures, etc.

4) Remember that the most important thing at the end of the day is the comfort. Sometimes, instinct may be the best judge.

Lastly, a few things to avoid in bedroom arrangement:

a) bed should not point directly to the door

b) try not to put a bed against a wall if space permits

c) bed should not point directly to a mirror

If you want to find the best direction to face, you can calculate your BaGua number. You just need your the year of your birth. For example: if your birth year is 1987. Take the last two digit and add them. So in this case add 8+7=15. We want single digits so we add the digits from the previous sum  like this 1+5 = 6.

Now depending if you’re a female or male you add or subtract 5 . If you’re female then you add 6+5 = 11, we want a single digit so we add digits from the sum like this 1+1=2. Your Kua Number is 2. If you’re male then you subtract 5 from 6 = 6-5=1. Your Kua number is 1.

Usually the Kua number are divided into the East or West group. East groups composed of Kua numbers 1,3,4, 9. and the West Groups are those with 2,5,6,7,8.

Okay, so now I am feeling great!

I am on Day 4 of the Isagenix Cleanse. The first two days are detox days, with five shake days in the middle (two shakes a day and one 400-600 cal meal), with two days of detox at the end.

(If you do the math, please note that my final detox day will skip Thursday and move to Friday. Thanksgiving dinner is not to be messed with.)

Friday was the first shake day and I woke up feeling awful. And that is apparently what is to be expected after detoxing! And, I mentioned I had some horrible dreams Thursday night. Well—a friend suggested to me that this could be my mind detoxing too, and lots of negative thoughts and ideas in my head were exiting the system!

Last night I only woke up once, and still had some odd dreams. However, they were the total opposite. I dreamed about a puppy, no joke. It was the sweetest, most fun, lovable, and playful dog. It was GREAT! We just played and played and played.

Now I am looking at the first two days, the detox days, and realizing my mind made them seem a bit harder to get through than they actually were. I was going into it slightly half-committed. Which never is good. I was judgmental of the whole process, of myself for doing it and paying for it, and questioning that the results would actually be beneficial.

Well, there’s only one way to really find out! By going ALL IN and seeing what happens!

I mentioned that yesterday I cheated and had two meals—oatmeal for breakfast, and a spinach salad with grilled chicken, carrots, broccoli, and peppers for lunch. (Lemon herb dressing on the side.)

This was a really great lunch. I sat there and slowly ate it and really just savored it. The rest of the afternoon, I felt great.

At night, for dinner, I really made a thing of the shake. I am reading various books on feng shui right now and one theme is enjoying each of the senses. One book mentioned drinking a smoothie in the bathtub.

Done and done.

I don’t have a blender, but I do have this shaky thingie (technical term) that at least gets the drink nice and frothy. I made a bath, put on a jazz podcast from NPR (George Shearing on Piano Jazz), and I had my shake in the bathtub. This is really the way to go.

I have decided that for the remainder of the cleanse, there will be no more cheating. I can do this!

I have realized a lot of my eating comes down to fear. Fear of not eating enough and being tired later. Fear of not feeling totally full. It is nice to be doing this regimen to get my brain out of that mindset. I actually felt great at the kid’s party I worked today, leading 20 3-year-olds around the Central Park Zoo, getting them to waddle like the penguins and jump like the snow leopards. I had all the energy I needed and wasn’t tired at all.

I am starting to see what a great time this is for me to do a cleanse. After the kid’s party I went to visit the house I’m moving into to meet the landlord. I revisited my soon-to-be room and decided that I’m definitely redoing the place. Painting, new carpet, and deep cleaning everything. Meanwhile in my current apartment I have been going through my things bit by bit. So as I physically and mentally clear out the gunk collected in my body by doing this cleanse, I am also doing this in my home, life, and mind. Perfect timing.

So, now I am off to work out for 20 minutes. I was scared to do this the other two days. What if I felt tired? Ha! I could always just get off of the treadmill. (Yet another fear!) Today I am feeling great so I’m going for it, and then I’m really gonna enjoy cooking my light dinner. Salmon, vegetables, and brown rice await! My mouth is watering so I better go and make this workout a reality.

I’m pleased to say my feng shui is working. It’s been several months since I’ve actively updated my site and been blogging. After the Feng Shui and Money course that I taught earlier this year, changes started happening very rapidly. I’ve moved. I’m in a new home. My life has been transforming …

I’ve been keeping busy with many things, piano lessons, getting ready for ski and snowboarding season, and going to first grade school events. Had a good scuba diving trip to Maui, Hawaii. Dove with manta rays at night, dove with eagle rays in the daytime, saw frog fish and many other sea creatures.

Just a couple short weeks after my Hawaii scuba diving trip, we moved two households into one. This summer was full of packing, selling things, thowing things away, donating items, unpacking, sorting, organizing and de-cluttering!
