<p>If only this car had used one of the three super nice ASI Dry Carbon F430 wings, this car would have put people in the hospital. Get me an ASI street version dry carbon wing and some Amuse B type gold ring titan exhaust tips on here and game over.</p>

<p>More Ferrari news on the blog today, apparently the Maranello manufacturer is planning to turbocharge some of its future models. With the 458 now launched we can only guess that this could appear in their road cars as soon as the next model. Or maybe even in the next limited edition one. Ferrari engine developer Jean-Jacques stated: “Turbocharging will come eventually, but we need to solve the issue of turbo lag.” I have a question for Mr. Jean-Jacques: do you remember the F40? That had 2 turbos and far from no lag. It&#8217;s been 22 years since the last turbocharged road-legal Ferrari (I may not be right) and I would like to say a turbocharged one is more than welcome. Just imagine the power. Their engines turn out already more than 100bhp/litre of displacement, just imagine what turbos will do. The Frenchman also said that they won&#8217;t be using the Fiat turbo technology anytime soon but they did bolt some turbos to a F430. It&#8217;s also said that they won&#8217;t use turbos anytime soon.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Ferrari Might be Working on Limited Edition 599 GTO]]></title>

<p>Ferrari may be working on a road-going, non-experimental edition of the 599XX called the 599 GTO, in honour of the legendary 250 GTO.</p>
<p>This car would be to the 599 GTB Fiorano like the 430 Scuderia is to the F430, a sort of track-ready monster, but still road-legal.</p>
<p>Reportedly, it will get an uprated version of the V12 engine, several weight saving mods and some aerodynamic tweaks. The V12 should be pumped up to between 680 and 700hp, and it should weigh about 150 pounds (Roughly 70kg) less than the standard 599. Visually, it should look a bit like the 599XX, but less extreme. Some of the aerodynamic aids from the 599XX will be used.</p>
<p>Production figures should hover around the 500 mark, and expect it to be revealed, if it&#8217;s true, at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show next March. I like the 599XX, and a road-going version would be interesting to see.</p>

<p><strong>GROSSETO</strong> &#8211; Fabrizio Crispino, 43 anni, napoletano, è morto poco dopo le 14 nel Grossetano, in un incidente stradale mentre era al volante della sua Ferrari. Con lui è morta anche Claudia Borlenghi, 39enne, anche lei residente a Napoli.</p>
<p><!--more-->L&#8217;incidente stradale è accaduto nel pomeriggio a Saturnia (Grosseto). L&#8217;uomo rimasto ferito è il 42enne Luigi Nocera, residente a Ischia. I tre viaggiavano su una Ferrari F430. Per cause in corso di accertamento da parte dei carabinieri, la vettura si è schiantata contro un albero in un tratto di strada provinciale piuttosto tortuoso. Secondo una prima ricostruzione le vittime sono due imprenditori quarantenni di Napoli, che viaggiavano su una Ferrari, sulla strada provinciale 10. A bordo c&#8217;era anche una terza persona, rimasta ferita in modo grave e ricoverata in rianimazione al Policlinico «Le Scotte» di Siena. L&#8217;auto, forse a causa della forte velocità o del manto stradale bagnato, è uscita fuori strada in curva, schiantandosi contro un albero. Due occupanti sono morti. Sul posto i mezzi di soccorso e i carabinieri.</p>

Well, now, after many posts about F1, I have a new topic (although it also involves F1). A few months ago, I was in a little principality you may have heard of called Monaco. This is a place of glitz and glamour and the cars and the city did not disappoint. I arrived there on a day that started out raining extremely hard, but as we pulled into the principality, the skies began to clear and the sun briefly shone through. The main reason that I wanted to go to Monaco was to walk the Formula One track that has become so famous. You may have watched it on TV, seen it in a movie or even played it in a video game, but unless you go there, you cannot believe how close to the buildings these guys get to drive. The second reason I wanted to go to Monaco was to see all the great cars these super wealthy people drive. As the day started with that aforementioned rain, I was not expecting too much, but I was surprised at what I did see.</p>
<p>We parked waaaaay up at the top of some hill that I probably couldn’t even find again. Luckily, we had a GPS system with us and it really came in handy. As I said, we parked way up the hill, as Monaco is sort of built into the side of a mountain (or at least some very tall hills). This leads to the city being a bevy of apartments, all built right on top of one another. Another thing this leads to is lots of stairs; thousands of them, in fact. However, we had another stroke of luck in that we parked near an elevator. Because the town is built so vertically, they have elevators that you can use to go up and down throughout the city to get to your destination. This not only saves time, it keeps you from killing yourself trying to climb up all those stairs. As it happened, we came down an escalator that opened up onto a street with a view directly toward the harbor. And again, as luck would have it, this street also contained the Formula One store and the Ferrari dealership. How fortuitous is that?</p>

<p>Obviously, I had to check both of them out. First, we took a trip inside the store. This place has everything…almost. Other than an actual car being inside the store, they had helmets, suits, an engine, exhausts, wheels and models galore! The walls were lined with models and hats and actual racing suits. I have been in other Formula One stores before, and though the one in Toronto comes close, this one is right in the heart of the action and is the place to go if you want some great merchandise. I will say that the one in Toronto has a very awesome Ayrton Senna helmet, but this one in Monaco is actually in Monaco! You can’t go wrong with that. I wish I had taken pictures of the inside, but I never thought to do so. I have this one of the outside, and the address is 15, Rue Grimaldi, should you ever be in the neighborhood. Originally, I wanted to get a car model or something that would be very Monaco-ish from the store (like a Michael Schumacher Ferrari F1 car), but all of the stuff they had – surprise, surprise – was really expensive. I ended up looking around the store and just taking it all in and then leaving to go explore the town with my dad.</p>

<p>The next stop was the Ferrari dealership just down the street, toward the harbor. This store had pretty much everything, bar an Enzo. Outside, in the rain, was a new California, a 599 GTB, a couple of 360s  and even a rare (in that it didn’t sell very well) 456. Inside the showroom was a 430 spider as well as an F430 Scuderia. This car is unbelievable to look at and the interior is pure racing car. Welds out in the open, no carpets, upgraded seats, Alcantara all over the place; a true beast of a car. I snooped around here for a bit and then we moved on down toward Port Hercule.</p>

<p>Port Hercule is the port that is so famous because of all of the gigantic yachts in the harbor during the grand prix. These yachts in these photos are just little things compared with what shows up on that weekend. It really is amazing that there are so many wealthy people out there who can not only live in Monaco, but be able to still afford to eat, let alone own a boat that is larger than my entire house!</p>

<p>Of course, right next to the port is the front straight of the actual track. Right on the street that all the cars drive on you can see the grid positions where they line up every year. It’s an amazing thing that an entire city/country can be shut down just for a bunch of cars to drive at ludiculous speeds through the town. At the corner of the first turn, called St. Devote, there is a large statue of a car drifting through that turn. Then it is up the hill toward the casino and the square. This hill is so much steeper than it appears on the television, it’s hard to get across in pictures, but it is like walking up stairs without the benefit of steps. And when you get to the top of the hill, it is a completely blind left turn that seems to go on forever, until you get into Casino Square.</p>

<p>And what a square! If you love to watch cars, this is one of the very best places in the world to see supercars up close and personal. There are two good reasons for this. The first is that the casino attracts many high rollers of course, but the other reason is that the Hotel de Paris is right next door. This is where high rollers stay, racing drivers sleep and celebrities frequent. Outside of the hotel, there were approximately 8 Bentleys waiting to take people wherever they wanted to go. And pulled up in front of the casino were multiple Porsches, Ferraris, an Aston Martin and an Audi R8. In fact, as I walked up to the Casino for the first time, I saw a convertible SLR McLaren leaving the scene. It is one of the many cars in the world that I wish I could have gotten a picture of, but, alas, I was not fast enough.</p>

<p>Going on from here, you take a right turn around the mirror in the middle of the square and head down the hill to Mirabeau. This is the corner where Lewis Hamilton crashed in qualifying for the 2009 GP. I took these pictures of the hairpin from his crash spot. Here you can see just how much of a drop in road height there is from the top of this spot to the bottom.</p>

<p>Once you get down there, you take a succession of quick right hand turns and enter the spectacular tunnel. I walked the entire track, and at the end of the tunnel, there was construction, but that didn’t stop me from walking out near the traffic and continuing on. Another car that I missed taking a picture of, mostly because I didn’t want to be hit by it, was the new Lotus Evora. Once you are down here, you are literally right next to the port again. While there are barriers blocking the cars from splashing into the ocean, or crashing into multi-gazillion dollar yachts, it is still only about five or 10 feet from the actual marina. Then it is a left around Tabac and then the quick piff-paff of the swimming pool. Once you are past the pool, you can see right down to the Rascasse restaurant and corner. This corner is famous for a couple of reasons. First, it is a famous restaurant, but also, it is where Michael Schumacher “lost control” of his Ferrari in trying to lock out pole for the 2006 race. Just about where this white van is sitting is where Schumi parked his car. SUCH HISTORY!</p>

<p>From here, the cars blast through Antony Noghes and back onto the start-finish straight. The lap is one of the coolest things you can do in Monaco, because it only takes a couple of minutes (barring any unforeseen stopping to ogle cars) and is a great way to get a sense of the history of the track and to feel just how close they actually come to buildings and spectators. We then took a look at the Automobile Club of Monaco. Since we were not members, we only went into the doorway to see the trophies and the names on the plaques, but behind one of the windows are three formula one engines for all to see.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, we did not spend the night in the city (expensive much?) and moved on. But before we did, I figured that since I would probably never be back to the city, I we should stop back at the Formula One store that we went in earlier. I already had something in mind that I wanted, and luckily, I got there just before they were about to close. In fact, about five minutes before they were about to close! I ran in the back and grabbed a hat. In all the years I have been watching Formula One I have never owned a Michael Schumacher hat, so I grabbed the final edition of his world title winning hats and took it up front. The woman that worked there was kind enough to answer my questions as well. The main one being, “Who is that in the picture?” She then rattled off names like Jarno Trulli, Sylvester Stallone, Sebastian Loeb and more that had all been pictured inside of the store. There were pictures of many people up there, all of them very famous racing drivers or celebrities. This store has a lot of history in it and should be on your list if you are a fan of motorsports and are in Monaco. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><strong>Dette har egentlig vært en skikkelig dritt helg!</strong> Overaskende nok så har jeg kommet meg greit gjennom den. Jeg har bare daffet, stresset over den sykt stressende uken som jeg skal ha nå og endelig greid å jobbe med norskstilen. Jeg har greid å skirve 1250 ord med bare kødd, tviler litt på om jeg kommer til å greie 1500 spm jeg egentlig skal ha, men det får tiden vise. Har i hvertfall lykkes litt tror jeg, er ganske uthvilt. Så så lenge jeg kommer meg i seng før kl  halv 11, hvertfall kl 11, burde alt gå fint.</p>
<p><strong>Begynner å stresse litt for sesjonen nå&#8230;</strong> Ikke noen grunn egentlig, men tenk hvor kipt det hadde vært hvis det hadde vist seg at jeg ikke er tjeneste dyktig eller noe! Da må jeg greie å finne på noe helt nytt jeg har lyst til å gjøre til neste år og det tror jeg ikke jeg hadde greid. Det gikk faktisk akuratt opp for meg at det er en mulighet for at jeg ikke blir tjeneste dyktig og da kan jo bare glemme millitæret. Hva gjør jeg da??? Ingen grunn til at jeg ikke skulle kunne det, perfekt syn, hørsel, har ikke asma eller noe. Det eneste som er litt dritt er skulderen, men planen er å ikke si noe om den så burde vel det gå fint=) Kryss fingrene for meg hver så snill! (Føler jeg sier det en del, men jeg trenger vel litt ekstra hjelp i hverdagen..)</p>
<p><strong>Ikke lenge igjen!</strong> Snart er det tid for oppkjøring, noe som bare gjør at jeg stresser mer i tillegg til alt det andre drittet. Det at mamma endelig turte å øvelses kjøre med meg viser vel at jeg ikke suger helt. Hun kjørte aldri med Andreas og det tok over et år før hun nå tørr å gjøre det med meg. Jeg fikk endelig overbevist henne om at hvis jeg strøk fordi jeg ikke fikk kjøre når vi skulle til byen var det hennes skyld. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Set in the beautiful country lanes of Princes Risborough, the Kop Hill Hillclimb is one of the oldest hill climbs in England. During the early 1900s it was one of the largest motorsport events in the UK. The hill itself is a pretty straight road, but it&#8217;s over 1000 metres long to the summit and rises to 100 metres high. Big crowds would line the edges of the road to watch drivers and motorcyclists try to achieve the fastest times and speeds up the hill. Unfortunately, as the speeds got faster, so did the risks, and on the 28th of March 1925 an accident involving a spectator led to the end of the original Kop Hill event and led to the RAC banning all motorsports on public roads.</p>
<p>On the 26th and 27th of September, organisers decided to do a Kop Hill Commemorative Run to bring the sounds and sights and even smells (mmm, Castrol R) back to Kop Hill again. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The new <a href="http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/0911_2011_mclaren_mp4_12c/index.html">McLaren MP4-12C</a> is on the front cover of <a href="http://www.automobilemag.com/index.html">Automobile Magazine</a> for the month of November.</p>
<p>I first heard rumors of this car coming into production a few months ago, I saw photos of it, and heard of speculated performance stats.</p>
<p>My first impression of this news was excitement. Although the car did not look quite astonishing, it had a unique image to it. It is the predecessor to the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_F1">McLaren F1</a>, so naturally, this thing has to be ground breaking, revolutionary, a super car’s super car.</p>
<p>The more I read about the MP4-12C, the more hesitant I became to place it upon a pedestal of glory in automotive history. It almost seemed like I was reading about any other super car out there, a <a href="http://www.lamborghini.com/2006/lamboSitenormal.asp?lang=eng">Lamborghini Gallardo or Murcielago</a>, a <a href="http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20Cars/Pages/Carslanding.aspx">Ferrari F430</a>, or a <a href="http://www.koenigsegg.com/models.php?menu=models">Koenigsegg CCX</a>. The MP4-12C can just get in line behind all these cars. There is nothing new or exciting about the McLaren that those cars can’t do. I think that McLaren dropped the ball with the MP4-12C. What they should have gone after was the <a href="http://www.bugatti.com/en/veyron-16.4.html">Bugatti Veyron. </a>That was the kind of car the McLaren F1 was almost 18 years ago. The F1 was a super car’s super car, just as the Bugatti is today. Surprisingly, the F1 is still considered one of the top super cars ever made, and turns heads everywhere one shows up. Now days, there is nothing in competition with the Bugatti which would have presented McLaren the perfect opportunity to reclaim the ultimate automobile status. Instead they show up in the ring with the everyday super cars ready to put up a fight, not even attempting to take a punch at the current king. Obviously, they don’t remember what it’s like to be the kingpin car in the parking garage anymore.</p>

To nie może być nic innego jak tylko nowe F450, a raczej 458 Italia.  Jego poprzednik był po prostu cudownym i niesamowicie pięknym autem. Nowa jego odmiana jest dość kontrowersyjna stylistycznie. F450 to mieszanka modelu Enzo i Californii, co nie do konca wyszło mu na dobre. Jednak to nadal ładne auto.</p>

<p>So I&#8217;ve got this problem. I always want the newest and best of something especially when it comes to cars which for obvious reasons can create a problem. That&#8217;s past tense though since an exclusive supercar club like Scuderia 250 exists. I stumbled on this tonight and then remembered when I read about it when it first started last year. Unfortunately I didn&#8217;t have the blog last year so I figure I&#8217;ll talk about it now!</p>
<p>Basically the Scuderia 250 Supercar Club is a very exclusive group where you pay a small fortune for its limited membership to drive the supercar of your choice for limited periods of time. The advantages of a club like this is that you only get the best of the world of exotic car driving. You don&#8217;t have to worry about insurance, storing, detailing, or how bad of an investment buying the car actually is. Oh and my favorite part is that you don&#8217;t have to stick with the same car very long. Anytime you want a change, just ask! This club doesn&#8217;t just offer the choice to drive a range of the best supercars, it also provides something much more valuable; no worries. You don&#8217;t have to think about any set backs of owning a supercar, you just focus on the thrill of the drive. Not a bad way to go. The club offers an individual or corporate membership. The corporate membership is quite interesting, a company with a membership to Scuderia 250 can request the car of a clients choice to help woo them. The individual one is as simple as it sounds, you pick the supercar of your dreams, you get in, you drive the hell out of it.</p>
