Seventeen years ago today, I married my best friend. We’d been dating for five years before that, so, technically, we’ve been together for twenty-two years. Which is just crazy. And, of course, like most people that have been together that long, we have a three-and-a-half year-old daughter. Ha.

Anyway, seeing as today is kind of special, I wanted to take a moment to thank my wife for a couple of things. One, for marrying me. These days it’s kind of hard to remember what we were like before Greta came along, but, all I know is that the happiest day in my life was when Mrs. Yeti said she’d move with me to L.A. so I could attend grad school. Seriously, when Mrs. Yeti finally agreed to tether herself to my big old silver van and move south, well, that made me very happy because I knew that meant that we’d get married someday too. Or, at the very least have a grand adventure in Hollywood. It just so happens, we did both.

The second thing I’d like to thank Mrs. Yeti for is for always being there for me. There were many years where things looked very bleak and any sane woman would have been well within her rights to run screaming in the other direction. But, Mrs. Yeti never wavered. She may have voiced some concerns over the years, but, she was always there, standing firm. Right by my side. Let me tell ya, if your ship is sinking, she’s the gal you want in your dinghy. I mean that with all my heart, she is my rock and I can never thank her enough for sticking it out with me. Especially during the lean years.

And finally, I want to thank her for bringing Greta into this world.

We waited a long time to have a baby, longer than we probably should have, but, there just never seemed to be the right time. And then one day — in one of those lean years I mentioned above — she said: “It’s time. We need to do this now.” I hadn’t sold a script in four years, my agent was in jail for stealing from her clients, and I had just been fired from my day job at a coffee shop. We had no money, one leased car that we shared and two cats. I could not think of a worse time to start a family, but, once again, she knew what she was doing.

“If we wait until the time is right, we might never have a baby.” She insisted. And she was right. So, we started trying and it ended up taking us five soul-crushing years to get pregnant. She had at least three miscarriages during that time, two that hurt and one that really ripped our hearts out. It was brutal, and, honestly, there were times when I thought we should just stop trying, that maybe we had missed our tiny window of opportunity.

But, there was no stopping her now. And, as always, Mrs. Yeti was right. We turned to a friend who turned us onto an acupuncturist in Silver Lake who specialized in fertility problems. And, literally, one month after she started treatments, Mrs. Yeti was pregnant.

It was a difficult, trying pregnancy, and I feared for the worst through most of it. But, thanks to our lovely acupuncturist, a plethora of foul-smelling Chinese herbs, and even some good old, Western medicine — you’d be surprised how well your health care providers treat you when you’ve had three miscarriages! Seriously, we had like monthly ultrasounds from very early-on. It was awesome. — we ended up having a happy, healthy baby girl that has enriched our lives a thousand times over.

And now, as I look forward to the next seventeen years (and beyond!), all I can say is “Thank You”. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but, I am grateful every single day that we met and fell in love all those years ago at that crazy old GapKids in San Francisco. Everything deep and magical in my life begins and ends with you. You are my life and I can’t imagine my world without you in it.

Now, hurry up with that popcorn and beer! My Mom only has Greta for the afternoon and we’ve got like, three days of Olympic coverage to watch.

I know it sounds crazy, but, we celebrated our anniversary a day early, and that’s exactly what we did today. Popcorn, beer, Chinese take-out and Tivo. All day. And it was perfection. Happy anniversary, sweetie. I love you…

When it comes to dealing with acupuncture New York, you should consider several things in perspective first. Among them is the place where the acupuncture shop is located. You need to find one that is pretty easy to come by. Remember that acupuncture would be done on a per session basis.

Speaking of per session, you need to consider the fact that acupuncture New York is not just going to happen once. You should consider doing it for a specific period of time. This being said, you should be prepared to attend it on a regular basis so you would have to fit it into your schedule.

This activity would also be something that you should add on into your list of expenses. With this in mind, you need to ensure that you would have the right finances to get you going. To do this, it would be important to have an insurance policy.

Make sure that you also understand how the whole process works. There would surely be needles involved so if you have issues with that, you might want to think twice about getting an acupuncture done on you. Though it is painless, there would still be some pricking sensation that you should expect to feel.

Then, make time for your doctor. It would be best if you can look through different options so that you can fix your concerns before starting the therapy. Your doctor should be someone who is trustworthy enough and someone whom you are actually comfortable to deal with.

On top of your doctor, you should also make time to get to know the clinic where the acupuncture will be done. You should ensure that it would be hygienic and that it would be alright for you to get into. The nice thing about getting into an acupuncture clinic is that it would also allow you to meet the other people there.

Referrals are also good when it comes to getting an acupuncture New York shop. These referrals would allow you to look through the pros and cons of many different things. The nice thing about referrals is that they also give you some insider’s insight on acupuncture.

Acupuncture New York is something that has really made waves so far. With this in mind, you should consider making the best option by also doing some research about it on your own.

Alternative medicines is now among the most popular things being done by people. Among the most interesting things that it has spun off is the use of acupuncture for infertility. Being a couple who would want to conceive a child after all these years, this is a method that you might want to consider doing.

It helps to have a good set of referrals to start with. Since this case might be a little private and you might initially feel discomfited with telling someone about reproductive problems, you can start by asking from your closest networks. Someone in your relatives or from friends might have heard of this before.

If you would also want to try this in line with your medical condition, you should also consider asking from your own doctor. Your doctor would be able to give you some good leads and he would also be able to introduce your medical condition to the acupuncture professional.

On your own, you should also try to prepare for the procedure and make sure that you know a lot of stuff about it. You can start by researching on the internet about acupuncture for infertility. If you have the slightest idea about acupuncture, you should definitely research on that first.

One of the things you need to take note of is the fact that acupuncture makes use of pressure points. Sterilized needles are inserted into these pressure points so you might feel some bit of pricking in the process. If you have issues against needles, then that is something you should consider.

It also helps to know how many sessions acupuncture for infertility typically goes for. You should expect that it would take up some of your time so you need to set aside a schedule for it. It is important that you complete the program you sign up for.

You should also prepare for the expenses that you would have to incur. This is why you should look at the program that is being offered to you. Ensure that you can take care of it financially especially if you are planning to undergo acupuncture for infertility together with your spouse.

If you have an insurance coverage, you might want to ensure that these sessions would be covered by your plan. You should also take note of the additional consultation fees that you would incur as you get yourself acquainted with the new therapist.

Many westerners don’t believe it, but acupuncture for fertility is a real medical treatment wh

Many westerners don’t believe it, but acupuncture for fertility is a real medical treatment which eastern doctors have been using effectively since ancient times. Most everyone has heard of acupuncture, and many people know that acupuncture is used to treat mundane health problems like back pains or headaches, but most people don’t know that acupuncture can improve fertility.

The body has energy fields which flow throughout it. Conventional western science and medicine do not acknowledge these energy flows, but they are well known and well understood by eastern, oriental science.

Blocks or disruptions in these energy flows, or changes in these flows, is the cause of much disease. The process is symbiotic, in that disrupted or blocked energy flows are both a cause and effect of disease. Eliminating blocks in the body’s energy flows can restore health and eliminate disease. It can also improve fertility.

Westerners are stressed, fat, and sedentary. They eat too much junk food, overwork themselves, and hardly ever exercise. Poor health is an inevitable result, and the problems created by this lifestyle have been exhaustively documented, including problems with fertility.

Energy flowing throughout the body joins at junction points called nodes. In the unhealthy, energy becomes jammed or backed up at nodes rather than flowing through them. Thin needles inserted into the body at these nodes can relieve the energy jam, causing energy to flow again. The energy flows within the body and exterior to it are kick started, and the body’s normal flow of energy resumes.

These flows will not stay balanced if a person continues their unhealthy habits. The only way to restore natural flows permanently is a true lifestyle change which few westerners have an interest it. In a typical westerner, energy flows are almost never balanced, but acupuncture can temporarily balance them, which is better than nothing, and can cause profound health improvements for a short spell. A more normally functioning, healthy body has a better chance of becoming fertile during this short spell.

Acupuncture will not magically make an infertile person fertile. It can be an indispensible component of a holistic treatment regimen. It can improve the effectiveness of artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and donor-egg transfer.

For the infertile, becoming pregnant is only part of the problem. Staying pregnant is the real challenge. Many women with fertility problems have repeated miscarriages. Most miscarriages occur in the first three months of pregnancy. Using acupuncture after insemination can be beneficial. Obviously, no needle is inserted into the womb.

In some cases, acupuncture can cause women who have stopped producing eggs to begin reproducing them. This does not include older women who have already experienced menopause.

Certain acupuncture points can actually increase the risk of miscarriage. Only an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility should be utilized. Acupuncturists must be licensed in most states and are not quacks. If you have fertility problem, finding a licensed practitioner may allow to utilize acupuncture for fertility.

Many will agree there is nothing more rewarding in life than bringing into the world the actual gift

Many will agree there is nothing more rewarding in life than bringing into the world the actual gift of life itself. Whether you one child or six, the miracle never lessens and the joys only rise. I mean, who can really turn against what it must be like to have a young son or daughter mimic your actions, or want to be just like their parents, at least when they are young. It is an all too exciting time. Of course, before such a wondrous time can begin, one must first go through with actually conceiving and bearing a child. This is part of the overall journey, naturally. Yet, for some, it is far easier to speak of bearing a child than it is to rightly do. For this reason, it is extremely important that a couple goes and visits with a doctor to see if their bodies are compatible for child birth, or if there will be any complications going forward. If one discovers that everything between them and their partner is in a healthy condition, but they are still having difficulty conceive, it is time to weigh in on some options. Many will find that there is a whole world of fertility treatments, ranging from the use of chemical infusions to holistic practices like acupuncture for infertility.

Naturally, when one embarks on a journey of alternatives, they have to be careful to get the details behind everything it is they are going to try.

Most of the time the alternative options, something like acupuncture for infertility can seem alarming because a person knows nothing about it.

Luckily, these sorts of anxieties are usually very closely tied with simply having an unknown idea of what alternative medicines are and how they work. After all, most do not work with solely a homeopathic doctor and things become unfamiliar.

Perhaps the wisest way to begin looking at modern medical treatments for fertility and more alternative treatments is to seek out the positives and negatives of each.

Perhaps the wisest way to begin looking at modern medical treatments for fertility and more alternative treatments is to seek out the positives and negatives of each.

Then there is the price difference. Modern medical fertility treatments will no doubt splurge into the thousands of dollars, and acupuncture will not even reach a thousand dollars after a dozen treatments usually.

Finally, if one makes up their mind to try out any kind of fertility treatment, they should attempt to be open minded going forward and give acupuncture for infertility a true chance. After all, if it works, one will have been granted everything they wanted for a low cost. If it doesn’t work, then one has not just lost thousands of dollars trying something that might have worked for far less.

After the years go by, one usually becomes more and more disenchanted with what comes along with you

After the years go by, one usually becomes more and more disenchanted with what comes along with youth, and they begin to seek out what adulthood has to offer, perhaps even floating the idea of having children with their partner. In such a case, one must not get too impatient over the idea of having a child, because while it may be quite easy for some to do, it is rather difficult for a lot of others. Of course, if trouble in conceiving emerges, no reason to have dashed hopes. Instead, seek out the suggestion of a physician and have some fertility tests done to see if there are any major complications. If there are not, it is time to consider the alternatives that are around, ones you probably never thought of, like acupuncture for fertility.

Of course, acupuncture for fertility is most likely not the first option that jumped in your head, even if you are fully aware of the effects of acupuncture treatment.

In recent studies, women trying to conceive who received acupuncture for fertility were more likely to have a successful conception than woman trying without the aid of acupuncture.

As well, there is an extreme difference in how much acupuncture costs versus the cost of fertility drugs used today.

A dozen treatments of acupuncture might break a thousand dollars, but a single set of fertility drugs can run a person upwards of ten thousand dollars, and neither have guaranteed results by any measure.

Of course, alternatives for many might break down purely to the idea of switching around a diet, but this should not be the overriding thought, in our opinion. When was the last time you began a diet you were able to keep up for months on end? If you could do it, more power to you, but it’s hard not to give in over time, and so if you think you will consider a diet change your alternative, at least think about pairing it with another way.

Lastly, one should become familiar with what the actual process of acupuncture for fertility will be like. After all, acupuncture is not what you see condensed into in the movies, where the main character is repeatedly stabbed with needles and injured. On the contrary, acupuncture is a centuries old form of treatment that works to isolate points on the body to provide improved vitality and relief to a certain area of the body one is looking to treat. It comes down to a very scientific arrangement and is not foolish or careless in its ways as you might think, if your only interaction with the idea of acupuncture has come from the images of a movie.

As the time comes in your life when you are truly ready to begin trying to have a family, merely keep in mind the fact that trying to conceive will not be the same for everyone out there. Acupuncture for fertility may not work for everyone, but it could work for you, so keep an open mind in wherever you head.

If you’ve been struggling with infertility then you are aware of the stress and expense involved in

If you’ve been struggling with infertility then you are aware of the stress and expense involved in finding fertility solutions. Recently, I’ve been looking more into fertility acupuncture as a reasonable and logical approach to my fertility solutions.

Infertility clinics use a variety of means to help you solve your infertility issues, but these means almost always involve medication such as Clomid that help you to ovulate. These drugs have a great deal of unpleasant side effects. Along with Clomid, a lot of women find they have no other option than IVF treatments. IVF cost is high and not always successful.

But these methods shouldn’t have to be your only choice for successful fertility solutions. Fertility acupuncture can be done in conjunction with IVF, or as an alternative to these mainstream solutions. Fifth Avenue Fertility Acupuncture is an acupuncture clinic that specializes in the treatment of infertility using traditional Chinese Medicine instead of mainstream medicines and approaches.

At Fifth Avenue, you would work with Doctor of Acupuncture, Angela Le, on fertility treatments which include acupuncture, yoga, Chinese medicine, nutritional supplements and detoxification. This fertility clinic offers a holistic approach to treating fertility issues and the opportunity for a positive life changing experience that can help you to lessen the stresses involved in solving infertility issues.

Fifth Avenue believes that through lifestyle change and these holistic approaches to infertility you can develop fertility solutions that are less invasive, help you get back to what is important in life, and ultimately help you to get pregnant through these less invasive fertility solutions. You can visit Fifth Avenue Fertility Acupuncture at their website: http://www.fifthavenueacupuncture.com for more information on their approach and Dr. Angela Le.

I have my first therapy appointment on Friday to work on dealing with this whole infertility/miscarr

I have my first therapy appointment on Friday to work on dealing with this whole infertility/miscarriage issue. Then, on Monday, I have a 9am appointment with my regular doctor to see if we need to up my anti-depressant doseage. From there I have a 10:30am appointment with my OB/GYN to make sure that everything is ok on *ahem* that end before we move on to another cycle.

On Tuesday, I get to hop on a plane and fly off to Hawaii. I am SO EXCITED. The level of stress this trip was bringing me is beginning to lessen as the trip gets closer. I want to get out of here so bad. I will be gone for seven days, Tuesday to Tuesday. I refuse to worry about money, or taking money away from my FET fund in order to go on this trip. I will have a good time with my family. I will NOT stress.

On Wednesday, the day after we get back I will wake up, drop my son off at school, and head to the REs office for the sonohystogram that I just scheduled today. I seriously feel like I go to the doctor more than anybody. Ever. I may actually be starting to develop a complex over it. Thats how much I go to the doctor…Just wait until I add in the acupuncture appointments, which I plan on doing just as soon as we’re back from vacation.

I have also been trying harder to eat gluten free. This whole endometriosis diet is SO hard to do though! I know it’ll be worth it, but there are so many things that you CAN’T eat, It’s hard to remember! I went to El Pollo Loco today and got a salad that basically just had lettuce, tomato and avocado on it, with a little bit of cojita cheese. (I think dairy will be the last thing I give up, I’m saddest about that). I also ordered a soft taco on a corn tortilla, because I was afraid that a plate of lettuce smothered in mild salsa wouldn’t be satisfying and I didn’t want to find myself looking for a snack before dinner. Well I ordered a STEAK taco, and was 1/2 way done eating it before I realized that I’m not supposed to be eating RED MEAT!!! UGH!! Oh well I guess its okay though, as I eat red meat very infrequently as it is. Not even once a week, often times even less than that. But still. It is by far the hardest diet in the world to follow, especially when you are on the go and starving. I will definately need to become one of those people who makes all thier meals on Sundays and freezes them to eat throughout the week. Thats the only way I can see making this work. So anyway, for right now I guess I’m really just trying to go gluten and sugar free, the red meat will follow, and then finally dairy. =(

I went to the dentist yesterday and had my bite fixed finally. OH MY GOODNESS. You have no idea how good it feels to have be able to close my jaw all the way. My excruciating headache went to a dull throb within minutes of having it fixed, and now the pain is gone.

Well thats about all that is going on with me…I want to wish good luck and send prayers out to a couple of people whos blogs I have been reading, who have quite a bit going on right now. Hopefully you know who you are. I will be thinking of you!
