Nuove speranze per i milioni di videogiocatori che vorrebbero vedere un <a href="http://www.gamesblog.it/post/12813/final-fantasy-vii-dopo-final-fantasy-xiii-sondaggio/">rifacimento del leggendario Final Fantasy VII</a> vengono direttamente da Yoshi Kitase e Motomu Toriyama di Square Enix. Dal GamesCom di Colonia i due sviluppatori hanno infatti detto che attualmente il progetto non è in lavorazione, ma allo stesso tempo hanno lasciato intendere che in futuro tutto potrebbe essere possibile (chi parla in prima persona è il traduttore):</p>
<blockquote><p>«Ora come ora non esiste un progetto ufficiale per un rifacimento di Final Fantasy. Comunque sia Toriyama-san che Kitase-san hanno lavorato nello sviluppo del gioco, ed esso occupa un posto speciale nei loro cuori. Ne parlano a livello personale, come ìse lo facessimo, sarebbe così, o così’. Quindi, ne parlano, ma non c’è ancora un progetto ufficiale. Ma c’è la versione PSN uscita da poco, quindi potreste giocare quello nel frattempo, dovrebbe essere divertente»</p></blockquote>
<p><a href="http://www.gamesblog.it/post/13628/final-fantasy-vii-gia-scaricato-piu-di-100000-volte-sul-psn-americano/">Final Fantasy VII</a> su PSN è in effetti stato scaricato da più di 100.000 utenti in pochi giorni. Ma la speranza di un rifacimento “next-gen” rimane viva più che mai.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Cosplay - Aerith Gainsborough - Day 1]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>So I&#8217;m finally, really and truly, throwing my hat into the cosplay ring.  Yup.  You heard me.  No more pretending I&#8217;m going to use it to lose weight and get in shape.  No more throwing an album up on Facebook with all these characters I&#8217;d &#8220;like&#8221; to cosplay &#8220;someday.&#8221;  Someday is nigh, my friends!!  And not only is someday nigh, it begins today.</p>
<p>I get the feeling Ben should be scared&#8230;</p>
<p>But Ben&#8217;s well-deserved fear of the beast that&#8217;s being unleashed in me is not the topic of this post.  Nay, it is the wonderousness of my first ever cosplay.  I&#8217;m doing this the right way.  I&#8217;m making my own.  No ordering mass-produced cosplay online.  I&#8217;m starting from scratch and making this work from the ground up.</p>
<p>My first cosplay is going to be Aeris Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII.  Now, I realize that this is a fairly over-done and predictable cosplay.  But I do have reasons for doing her first.</p>
<ol>
<li>Aeris is not too far removed from the way I <em>already</em> look.</li>
<li>Her costume is fairly simple as far as game/anime costumes are concerned and shouldn&#8217;t be terribly difficult for me to do as my first ever clothing-sewing project.</li>
<li>It&#8217;s not super-skimpy.  I&#8217;m not terribly comfortable in my own skin right now, and even if I don&#8217;t lose as much weight as I <em>want</em> to before the costume&#8217;s debut, I won&#8217;t be too embarrassed.</li>
<li>It&#8217;s a recognizable cosplay.  I won&#8217;t have to explain myself eighty thousand times over a three-day convention.</li>
</ol>
<p>Last night, I bought the fabric, thread, and a basic pattern for the costume.  (I am officially in love with JoAnn Fabrics.)  Here&#8217;s a picture of the fabric and thread.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m really impressed with how well the thread and fabric match.  The fabric is very lightweight and soft, and should make a very comfortable costume.  There&#8217;s 4 yards of it there.  While I should only need 3.5 yards for the dress, I got a bit extra just in case, as well as I&#8217;m still not sure if I&#8217;ll be doing flat white buttons or fabric covering the buttons with the little tabs on the bottom.</p>
<p>And this is a picture of the pattern I&#8217;ll be working with.</p>

<p>The pattern is going to need some modifications.  You&#8217;ll note that the slit in the pattern is on the side, while Aeris&#8217; is in the front.  The neckline is also a tad off, but as far as things go, the basic shape of the dress is the same and the length is pretty spot-on as well.  I should be able to figure out the modifications with enough patience and newspaper.</p>

<p>Her staff is going to be hard to make.  Maybe I can get a little help from the wood-working Mr. Mike&#8230;  I&#8217;ll see if I can pester him into it&#8230;  Someone will be able to help me.  I figure I can make it out of lightweight wood and then paint it with shiny chrome spray paint from an auto supply store.</p>

<p>This is a closeup of Aeris&#8217; facial features.  I&#8217;m going to need some colored contacts (of the proper power, as I can&#8217;t see for beans without my glasses&#8230;) to capture that vibrant, vibrant green of her eyes.  Her hair, while it is a natural color, is lighter than mine.  If I can grow it out long enough before the costume debut, I might be able to do the hairstyle with my real hair.  Otherwise, we&#8217;re going to end up looking for a wig.  (Which might actually not be a bad idea, considering that MASSIVE bow back there.)  This picture also gives me a good idea for the texture of the fabric I&#8221;m going to need for her jacket/shrug.  It looks like suede to me.  What do you think?</p>

<title><![CDATA[FINAL FANTASY VII PSX]]></title>

En la entrada <em>Classic PSX Games</em> le dedique el primer puesto en el listado de los juegos mas influyentes para la siempre vigente Play uno, pero ahora pienso ir un paso adelante y referirme en profundidad en todo lo relativo al que sin duda es uno de los juegos mas importantes y connotados de la historia. Sin exagerar.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;"><img class="aligncenter" title="ffVII 1" src="http://histrionliterario.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/final_fantasy_7_pal-front.jpg?w=287&#038;h=287" alt="" width="287" height="287" /></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">-Pese a que en el comienzo el <strong>FFVII </strong>se suponía previsto para el <strong>Nintendo 64</strong>, un quiebre entre los Nintendianos y los de <strong>SquareSoft </strong>provoco que el proyecto migrara hacia una consola relativamente reciente, un tanto desconocida y poco apreciada por aquel entonces,  nos referimos al <strong>PSX</strong>. Esta es una decisión que alteraría para siempre el flujo de poderes en el mundo de las consolas hogareñas, ya que implica la consolidación oficial de <strong>SONY </strong>en el terreno, con sus infinitas repercusiones. (Nota aparte: La Play Station nació en base a las primeras incursiones de Nintendo, en conjunto con Sony, sobre prototipos de consolas que utilizaran discos en vez de cartuchos).</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Se habla mucho de un abismo generacional que separa al FFVII con su antecesor directo, el <strong>FFVI </strong>para <strong>SNES</strong>, pero las fechas de salidas de ambos videojuegos no son tan alejadas como pareciera ser (solo tres años). Desde unos simples -pese a que en aquel entonces fueran asombrosos- gráficos 2D se pasa a hermosos modelados poligonales. No olvidar que en su tiempo pocos juegos gozaban de gráficos parecidos, y muchos menos de la envergadura y complejidad de los del FFVII.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Las extensas cinemáticas en tiempo real son legendarias -dudo mucho que algún videojuego anterior gozara de videos en tiempo real de la calidad y longitud de estas- y las pista de audio no se quedan atrás. Como olvidar el famoso <em>&#8220;Sephiroth ThemeSong&#8221;</em> cantado por el coro gregoriano al final del juego, entre tantos otros magníficos temas.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Son tantos los detalles increíbles de este juego que difícilmente podría mencionarlos todos, pero supongo que con enumerar los mas importantes bastara: El renovado sistema de <strong>BTR </strong>(Batalla en tiempo real) que conformara las bases de los actuales RPG`s, Los despliegues gráficos en batalla, destacando las magias e invocaciones, las variables relativas al uso de materias y equipamientos, la gran cantidad de misiones anexas, mini-juegos, secuencias opcionales que complementan la historia, etc.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;"><strong>SUS REPERCUSIONES</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">-No se hicieron esperar. Fue tal el fanatismo que <strong>Cloud</strong>, <strong>Tifa </strong>y compañía se volvieron personales universales, de conocimiento obligatorio para cualquier persona con un mínimo de contacto con el área de los videojuegos, anime, etc. Es el único <em>Final Fantasy</em> con secuela animada. La famosa <em>FFVII Advent Children</em> y el Ova <em>Last Orden</em>, con la historia de <strong>Zack</strong>. La popularidad de este personaje le valdría con el tiempo convertirse en el protagonista exclusivo de el <em>FF Crisis Core</em> para <strong>PSP </strong>(no confundir con el <em>After Crisis</em>, que cuenta la historia desde el punto de vista de los <strong>Turcos</strong> y es solo para celulares). Otro de los secundarios en el FFVII original, <strong>Vincent Valentine</strong>, también acaparará protagonismo en el <em>FFVII Dirge Of Cerberus</em> para <strong>PS2</strong>, que es un pésimo juego, pero da igual. Con tal que aparezca Cloud en moto en una breve secuencia ya se justifica completamente la compra (o descarga, en su defecto). Y hablando del buen Cloud, también hará acto de presencia en el excelente <em>FF Tactics</em> de PSX como personaje oculto.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;"><strong>¿Y LA TRAMA?</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Sin duda el plato fuerte del juego. Más que los revolucionarios gráficos, cinemáticas y todas las innovaciones ya mencionadas, lo que verdaderamente hace al FFVII inolvidable es el argumento, el cual resumiré a continuación:</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Cloud, un mercenario ex-miembro de <strong>SOLDADO </strong>será contratado por el grupo eco-terrorista <strong>AVALANCHA </strong>para destruir reactores que suministran energía a <strong>Midgar</strong>, la metrópolis en donde se encuentran. Pese a que al comienzo de la historia Cloud no se ve motivado por una fuerte conciencia ecológica para cometer sus crímenes (solo busca dinero) con el tiempo descubrirá su rol protagonista en un acontecimiento que cambiara para siempre la faz del planeta.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Lo interesante de todo esto es que los protagonistas son concientes de sus comportamientos delictuales y que sus actos provocaran la muerte de muchas personas, pero aun así su odio a Shin-ra, la compañía automotriz más grande del mundo que extrae la energía del planeta, será mayor a sus remordimientos.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Y es sobre esta energía (<strong>mako</strong>) que se ciñen muchas dudas. <strong>Barret </strong>(el líder de Avalancha) la describe como la sangre del planeta, y que su extracción masiva únicamente conllevaría a su muerte, pero no es sino hasta mas avanzado en el juego que nuestras nociones al respecto se expandirán. Se habla de una corriente vital (<strong>LifeStream</strong>) que contiene las “almas” de todos los seres vivos del planeta. Se representa como un ciclo de vida, que acaba con el regreso del alma al LifeStream. Interrumpir este evento implica alterar el funcionamiento básico de las cosas (sin olvidar lo inmoral que resulta utilizar las vidas de personas como fuente lucrativa) y acelerar el deterioro planetario. A todo este desvarío ecologista se le suma la existencia de un factor inesperado. El regreso de la muerte de <strong>Sephiroth</strong>, un hombre considerado como una leyenda en vida. Al descubrir que su nacimiento y todo lo que creía conocer sobre si mismo no era más que un producto de una inhumana investigación científica, perderá la cordura y buscara fusionarse con la corriente vital para así renacer como un Dios.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">También se explicita sobre la existencia de una raza extinta, los ancestros (<strong>ancients</strong>) a la cual pertenece la hermosa Aerith, quien durante el trascurso del juego es la única capaz de ponerse en “comunión” con el planeta, escuchar sus designios y abrir las puertas a la “tierra prometida” (un lugar rico en mako), pese a que eventualmente la calamidad se ceñirá sobre su vida.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Descuiden si no se entendió muy bien la historia. La trama del FFVII es compleja, hasta el punto de incluir reflexiones filosóficas intensas en algunos puntos claves de la aventura (como olvidar la secuencia de los tres Cloud dentro de la corriente vital, para culminar con una asombrosa revelación).</span></p>

Pese a que finalmente y tras mucho tiempo en duda el proyecto fue descartado, aun persisten dudas y no seria de extrañar que los de Square-Enix nos sorprendan uno de estos días con la noticia. Motivos no les faltan a los programadores para trabajar en ello.</span></p>

<p>Sério, já fiz algumas aulas de teclado, mas o professor era tão imbecil &#8211; não tinha paciência em me ensinar, se achava &#8220;o f*dão&#8221; e quando eu errava algo, bufava do meu lado &#8211; que larguei as aulas logo no começo. <p>Acho que vou criar uma nova categoria no blog. Tipo &#8220;jogos retro-grade-chineses-piratas&#8221; ou qualquer coisa nesse sentido. Cada vez que &#8220;ando&#8221; pela net encontro uma pérola da &#8220;engenharia&#8221; deles. A bola ou jogo da vez foi Final Fantasy VII.<br />

<blockquote><p>Todos com certeza já ouviram falar de Final Fantasy VII, mesmo não tendo  jogado você com certeza deve ter ouvido falar bastante de Final Fantasy VII,  bastante <strong>mesmo</strong>! Final Fantasy VII com certeza foi um dividor de  águas no mundo dos RPGs, ele trazia uma história mais adulta (que já estavamos  sendo iniciados com alguns RPGs) com gráficos impressionantes e um grandioso  leque de possibilidades temperado com cenas em CGs que só foram possível por  conta da competência da, ainda, Square Soft e à nova mídia que estava sendo  utilizada: o CD-ROM!</p>
<p>Pois bem, todos hoje em dia costumam se rasgar por Final Fantasy VII e clamam  por um remake oficial utilizando o que há de mais moderno na área, posso estar  enganado (não sou tão especialista assim) mas acredito que seja a White Engine  da Square-Enix. Enquanto a S-E não atende ao desejo dos fãs, ela fatura ao  montes com toda a belíssima história que foi construída e extendida ao redor de  FF7.</p>

Aproveitando-se disso a <a href="http://www.sznanjing.com/" target="_blank">Shenzhen Nanjing  Technology Co, Ltd</a>, que fabrica uns MP3 e MP4 xinglings, criou um cartucho  de Famicom e reprogramou todo o Final Fantasy VII para o bom e velho  <em>Nintendinho Japonês</em>. Isso mesmo, não se trata de um mero ROM hack ou  qualquer coisa do tipo. O jogo foi “totalmente” feito do zero, quando eu coloco  totalmente entre aspas eu quero dizer que ele foi programado do zero, entretanto  alguns sprites e sons foram pegues emprestados dos outros FF do NES.</p>
<p>Outra coisa que eu acho interessante abordar é que é provável que o pessoal  da Shenzhen não vá entrar para o ramo de games e que provavelmente tenham feito  isso por pura diversão, e isso os deu uma puta repercussão… o que muita gente  pode chamar de Buzz!</p>
<p>É <strong>ÓBVIO</strong> e eu acredito que não seja necessário dizer, mas  como sempre tem gente que reclama antes de pensar eu vou dizer, que as  impressionantes CGs do jogos não estarão presentes na versão 8 bits do jogo &#8211;  Aaaaahhhh <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' />  &#8211; e algumas outras coisinhas também não estarão, como por exemplo  algumas side-quests.</p>
<p>Acredito que o remake é algo completamente satisfatório pois pelo que foi  dito a história principal está lá e está inalterada! Além das CGs foram  retiradas algumas opções de batalha, nada que vá fazer com que o jogo perca a  verdadeira graça.</p>
<p>Se você está gostando do que está lendo, com certeza deve estar se  perguntando: ONDE DIABOS EU CONSIGO A MALDITA ROM?!</p>
<p>É… vou deixá-los na mão, parece que ainda não existe a ROM disponível, mas de  qualquer forma… eu não fui atraz de procurar mesmo!</p>
<p>Isto, meus queridos leitores, que vocês acabaram de ler não se trata de mais  um remake ou retro-adaptação. Trata-se de um puta profissionalismo que só quem  já passou por um perrengue na vida real sabe como é difícil de se lidar: ter de  fazer um mega projeto com recursos limitadíssimos!</p>
<p>Os caras que fizeram esse trabalho estão mais do que de parabéns.  Entretanto eu acho que eles deveriam se preparar judicialmente para possíveis  retaliações da Square-Enix, acredito que ela não vai deixar barato um remake não  oficial da franquia mais <del datetime="00">caça-nível</del> valiosa da casa!</p></blockquote>

The game is a prequel to <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> and is also the fourth entry in the <em>Compilation of Final Fantasy VII</em>, which also includes the games <em>Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII</em> and <em>Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII</em>, as well as the CGI movie <em>Final Fantasy VII Advent Children</em> and the anime, <em><span class="mw-redirect">Last Order: Final Fantasy VII</span></em>. Production was overseen by Yoshinori Kitase, the director of the original <em>Final Fantasy VII</em>, with Hajime Tabata as the game&#8217;s director and Tetsuya Nomura as the game&#8217;s character designer.  The game mainly focuses around Zack Fair, a 2nd Class (and later 1st class) SOLDIER, and the events leading up to<!--more--> his destined demise. He meets many of the <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> characters, including Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough, with whom he develops strong bonds. The game&#8217;s storyline takes the player from the war with the Wutai to the events at Nibelheim, and right up to the time just before the <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> beginning. Some of the missing events or plot holes from Nibelheim and afterwards are explained in the animated feature, <em><span class="mw-redirect">Last Order: Final Fantasy VII</span></em></p>

<h2><span class="mw-headline">Gameplay</span></h2>
<p><img class="alignleft" style="float:left;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/2b/Crisiscore-battlepowersurge.JPG/200px-Crisiscore-battlepowersurge.JPG" alt="" width="200" height="113" /><em>Crisis Core</em> has action- and menu-based elements. The new battle system is known as Digital Mind Wave, or &#8220;DMW&#8221;, and revolves around a series of reels at the upper left corner of the screen which spin continuously as long as there are Soldier Points, or &#8220;SP&#8221; left to consume. Each reel rotates independently and upon lining up three reels of the same character and value, a power-up or a &#8220;Power Surge!&#8221; will be rewarded to Zack.  The player has full control over Zack when moving around, and can rotate the camera with the left and right triggers. Enemies abound in the field screen, battles against whom take place in real time.  <img class="alignright" style="float:right;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bc/Crisis-corebattle.JPG/200px-Crisis-corebattle.JPG" alt="" width="200" height="114" />Enemies can be attacked physically and magically. Spells such as Fire and Cure are located on the command bar rather than in a separate sub-menu like in Final Fantasy VII, and used in the same fashion as previous titles. Materia makes a return, fully customizable and in the multiple varieties from Final Fantasy VII, including green (spells) and yellow (extra commands: Steal, Sense, etc.). In addition, Materia can be fused together to enhance one Materia&#8217;s abilities (such as making a Cure Materia that increases HP), or to make an entirely new Materia. The Materia the player has equipped determine the Magic and special commands on the in battle menu. Defensive and evasive maneuvers can also be used, such as dodge-rolling and blocking incoming attacks.  Following the completion of the game, the player will obtain a New Game Plus option. Also The USA release of Crisis Core has an added Hard mode to the game which causes the enemies to gain doubled stats, and a 10x HP gain.</p>
<h2><span class="mw-headline">Setting</span></h2>
<h3><span class="mw-headline">Characters</span></h3>
<p><img class="alignright" style="float:right;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/07/Crisiscoreartwork.PNG/250px-Crisiscoreartwork.PNG" alt="" width="250" height="218" />The central character in Crisis Core is Zack Fair, the SOLDIER member known from Cloud&#8217;s past in the original game, and <span class="mw-redirect">Professor Hojo</span> and <span class="mw-redirect">Jenova</span> are also present. Many characters known from Dirge of Cerberus are also present, and so other returning characters include Weiss, Nero, Genesis Rhapsodos. Vincent Valentine also makes an appearance if Zack opens his coffin in Nibelheim, although the player does not see his face as Zack gets spooked at the sight of a &#8220;dead&#8221; body and closes the coffin saying that Vincent should be left to sleep in peace.  There are many returning characters from the <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> series so far, including the main character from <em>Final Fantasy</em> VII, Cloud Strife. The main villain, Sephiroth returns, this time during his time in SOLDIER, and we also see the majority of the other playable characters from the original game, namely Aerith Gainsborough, Tifa Lockhart, <span class="mw-redirect">Yuffie Kisaragi</span>, Cait Sith, along with members of the <span class="mw-redirect">Turks</span> also seen in the original, <span class="mw-redirect">Tseng</span>, <span class="mw-redirect">Reno</span> and <span class="mw-redirect">Rude</span>. The Turk with the shuriken from Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Cissnei, returns in <em>Crisis Core</em>.  <strong>Angeal Hewley</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">アンジール・ヒューレー</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Anjīru Hyūrē</span></em>)</span>: A SOLDIER 1st Class who acts as a mentor to Zack to whom he seems to have become something of a patron. He is a respected 1st Class and has a great sense of responsibility and wisdom and is a companion to Sephiroth and Genesis, the latter of whom he grew up with in the rural village of Banora. Angeal is the original owner of the Buster Sword used by Zack and, later, Cloud, which was purchased for him by his late father using all the family&#8217;s savings. He tends not to use the weapon, however, claiming that <em>&#8220;use brings about wear, tear and rust&#8221;</em>. When Zack encounters him in the Midgar plate interior, it is revealed that, as a result of genetic manipulation through Project G, Angeal bears one white wing on his right shoulder. Angeal&#8217;s surname is derived from the Greek word <em>hyle</em> which is translated as <em>materia</em> in Latin. Angeal is voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in the Japanese version and <span class="new">Josh Gilman</span> in the English version.  <strong>Genesis Rhapsodos</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">ジェネシス・ラプソードス</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Jeneshisu Rapusōdosu</span></em>)</span>: A 1st class member of SOLDIER and close friend of Angeal and Sephiroth. He is the result of Project G that Dr. Gast, Dr. Crescent, and Dr. Hojo organized. Like Angeal, he has a single wing, but his is black and protrudes from the left shoulder. He is a mysterious figure who is known to favor the play <em>LOVELESS</em> which he apparently found in his parents&#8217; study, and often recites lines from the play. He makes an appearance first in <em>Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII</em>&#8217;s secret ending, but his name is unknown to the player at that point, only being referred to as &#8220;G&#8221;. His last name is a reference to the greek word &#8220;ραψωδός&#8221; which means &#8220;rhapsodist&#8221;. He is voiced by Gackt in the Japanese version and <span class="new">Oliver Quinn</span> in the English version.  <strong>Lazard</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">ラザード</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Razādo</span></em><span class="t_nihongo_help"><sup><span class="t_nihongo_icon" style="font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:bold;font-size:80%;line-height:normal;text-decoration:none;font-family:sans-serif;color:#0000ee;padding:0 0.1em;">?</span></sup></span>)</span>: The director of <span class="mw-redirect">Shinra</span>&#8217;s SOLDIER department which, during the events of Crisis Core, is an independent department of the company (in Final Fantasy VII there is no SOLDIER Director on the Shinra board, and Lazard&#8217;s portfolio has apparently been subsumed by Heidegger). Lazard has received promotions at an exceptional speed to attain his present status within the organization. The reason for this is hinted at subtly throughout Lazards various SOLDIER missives that Zack receives during the course of the game. Later on, he is altered into an Angeal Clone, and dies after the Shinra army attack him and the incapacitated Cloud. As confirmed in the <em>FFVII Ultimania Guide</em>, Lazard is in fact the illegitimate son of President Shinra and is the half-brother of Vice President Rufus Shinra. He is voiced by <span class="new">Stefan Marks</span> in the English release of Crisis Core.  <strong>Professor Hollander</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">ホランダー</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Horandā</span></em>)</span>: A former Shinra scientist who holds a grudge against Hojo, due the power struggle for leader of Shinra&#8217;s Department of Scientific Research that cost Hollander his status and reputation. He is the father of Angeal and the creator of Project G, originally Project Gillian as he uses his wife as a carrier and extracts it from her into Genesis. He sides with Genesis originally, serving to halt his degradation, until Genesis had no more use for his services, but Genesis let him live since he later injected himself with G cells. He has a small black wing and his body begins to deteriorate quickly. He is voiced by Shinya Ohwada in the original Japanese version and by Sterling Young in the English dub.  Other characters include <strong>Kunsel</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">カンセル</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Kanseru</span></em>)</span>, a member of SOLDIER and a very good friend of Zack who helps Zack from time to time in the game. He serves to teach Zack (and the player) the mechanics of the game and provides tutorials. <strong>Luxiere</strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;">(<span class="t_nihongo_kanji" lang="ja">ルクシーレ</span><span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none;">,</span> <em><span class="t_nihongo_romaji">Rukushīre</span></em>)</span> is a Second class SOLDIER who is a fan of Zack and emails Zack regularly. Through one of his emails, he informs Zack that he has been selected for promotion to 1st class.</p>
<h3><span class="mw-headline">Plot</span></h3>
<p>On a <span class="mw-redirect">Shinra Electric Power Company</span> helicopter above a train in <span class="mw-redirect">Midgar</span>, Angeal gives Zack orders about his mission. Zack jumps from the helicopter on to the train below and begins to fight Shinra infantrymen (who Angeal claims to be Wutai operatives in disguise) and fights more when he arrives at the train station in a scene very reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII&#8217;s opening.  At that time, the SOLDIER Mass Disappearance Incident occurred when, during combat operations in <span class="mw-redirect">Wutai</span>, <span class="mw-redirect">Genesis</span>, a first class member of SOLDIER, went missing without a trace along with many other SOLDIERs. The Shinra Company&#8217;s top management assessed the situation and decided to send out SOLDIER in order to bring an end to the war and clarify the scandal, and so, Angeal and Zack, as well as <span class="mw-redirect">Sephiroth</span>, whose name would come to be known throughout the world as a hero, were dispatched to Wutai.</p>
<h2><span class="mw-headline">Development and release</span></h2>
<p><img class="alignright" style="float:right;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/27/Crisis_Core_Bundle.jpg/300px-Crisis_Core_Bundle.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" />The game was announced at E3 2004 before the release of the PlayStation Portable. Its first trailer consisted of clips from the OVA <em><span class="mw-redirect">Last Order: Final Fantasy VII</span></em>. In an interview for <em>Famitsu</em>, Tetsuya Nomura had stated that a playable demo of the game would be ready by the end of 2006. However, there was no mention of whether the demo would be openly available to PSP owners. However, a playable demo was available at Jump Festa &#8216;06.  Angeal&#8217;s design was originally to be the main character design in <em>Final Fantasy VII</em>, but was replaced with Cloud&#8217;s final design.  On September 13, 2007 Square Enix released a special edition bundle for <em>Crisis Core</em>, which included a copy of the game which had a special box cover art of Zack Fair standing in front of Shin-Ra HQ holding the Buster Sword in front of him (shown further up the page), special silver coloured slim and light PSP (PSP-2000 as it is called in Japan) with <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> 10th Anniversary insignia on the back, on one side, designed by Tetsuya Nomura, and the meteor from <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> on the other side, Buster Sword strap, and came packaged in a box similar to that of a shoe box. As with many limited edition <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> releases by Square Enix, the bundle was limited to 77,777 units.  On December 17th, 2007 it was announced that <em>Crisis Core</em> would be coming to the United States on March 25, 2008. If pre-ordered from certain retailers such as Gamestop, the buyer may receive a Shinra UMD case, depending on how long supplies last at each retailer and if pre-ordered from Best Buy, the buyer may receive <em>Crisis Core</em> with a metallic foil cover.  Two versions of the game will be released in Europe: alongside the regular edition available at retail, there will be a limited edition version only available online, and then only when pre-ordered. This limited edition version includes special slipcase packaging and a book of promotional CG artwork entitled &#8220;The Art of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-&#8221;.</p>
<h2><span class="mw-headline">Audio</span></h2>
<p>The game&#8217;s soundtrack was released on October 10, 2007, covering 55 songs across two discs. The music was composed by Takeharu Ishimoto, with a few tracks by Kazuhiko Toyama. The soundtrack also includes remixes of various music from <em>Final Fantasy VII</em> and &#8220;Final Fantasy VII &#8211; <em>Last Order</em>&#8221; composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The game&#8217;s theme song is called &#8220;Why&#8221;, by Ayaka.</p>
<h2><span class="mw-headline">Reception</span></h2>
<p><em>Crisis Core</em> sold 350,000 copies in Japan on its release date, including the 77,777 Limited Edition PSP/Crisis Core bundles. Square Enix recently announced that <em>Crisis Core</em> was its best-selling game across all regions from April through September with 710,000 copies sold in Japan. <em>Crisis Core</em> has received generally positive reviews. With individual scores of 9/9/8/9, <em>Crisis Core</em> received an overall rating of 35/40 points from Japanese gaming magazine <em>Famitsu</em>. GameSpot gave the game a score of 9/10, praising its plot, as well as its overall presentation. Due to this, the game was credited as being one of the &#8220;Editor&#8217;s Choice&#8221;. IGN gave it 8.5/10, citing its great overall presentation and story. It also received a place amongst the &#8220;Editor&#8217;s Choice&#8221; gallery of recommended games for the PSP platform. On Metacritic, it has an average score of 85 through 30 reviews.  X-Play gave it a 2/5 with complaints about the unskippable cutscenes, dialogue, gameplay, and plot. The review quickly became one of their most criticized reviews. On April Fools&#8217; Day, in response to criticism over their original review, they &#8220;decided to give the game a second look and gave it a mock rereview, this time with a clear unbiased perspective,&#8221; editing in favorable voiceovers (from someone other than Adam Sessler) and giving it a 6/5.  As of April 1, 2008, <em>Crisis Core</em> has sold 301,600 copies upon its first month of release in the United States. Behind the sales of <em>God of War: Chains of Olympus</em> (340,500), <em>Crisis Core</em> was the 2nd best-selling game for the PSP during the month of March and the 6th best-selling game overall. As of November 19, 2007, the game has sold 710,000 copies in Japan according to Square Enix, and as of April 17, 2008, 301,600 copies in the United States according to the NPD Group</p>

Każda z nich zaczyna w nim swoją drogę, aby w końcu na końcu wędrówki do niego wrócić, dopełniając zamykający się krąg życia. Bardzo szybko ludzkość opanowała sposoby korzystania z jego mocy, nie zdając sobie przy tym sprawy, jak daleko idące za sobą konsekwencje niesie ten bezbożny, zaburzający harmonię całego układu czyn&#8230; <strong>Eksploatując życiodajną siłę i wyczerpując drzemiącą w niej moc twórczą ludzkość wydała na siebie wyrok</strong>. Jest jednak garstka osób, które postanowiły przeciwstawić się wszechmocnej korporacji Shinra, roszczącej sobie prawa do wykorzystywania potencjału lifestream&#8217;u we własnym celu. Cloud Strife, najemnik wynajęty przez grupę &#8220;zielonych&#8221; posługujących się nazwą Avalanche wspólnie z nimi przeciwstawia się dalszemu wyzyskiwaniu planety. Wspólnie z grupą przyjaciół rozpoczyna swoją odyseję przez chylący się ku końcowi świat, mając nad sobą zarówno cienie mrocznej przeszłości jak i świecącą na niebie łunę zbliżającej się stopniowo, niosącej widmo zniszczenia komety.</em></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Od dawna w Internecie krążą plotki na temat ewentualnego remake’u kultowej gry RPG Final Fantasy VII, przez wielu uważanej za najlepszą część serii. Osobiście pozostaje wielkim fanem szóstej odsłony gry, ale słynną siódemkę darze ogromnym sentymentem. Była to gra, która ostatecznie przekonała mnie(zatwardziałego amigowca) do sprzedania swojego ukochanego komputera i zaopatrzenia się w nowiutkie PSone. Od czasu premiery gry minęło kilka lat, technika poszła do przodu, zaś wokół słynnej marki na nowo wytworzył się szum medialny. Wszystko to za sprawą tzw. &#8220;kompilacji Final Fantasy VII&#8221;, czyli gier bazujących na legendzie słynnej produkcji dawnego SquareSoftu (obecnie Square-Enix). Produkcje te rozwijają wątki fabularne, pozwalając nam poznać lepiej wydarzenia sprzed samej gry (Crisis Core), jak i rzucają nowe światło na mniej znane, enigmatyczne postacie (Dirge of Cerberus).</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Kilka dni temu w sprzedaży pojawiła się japońska edycja gry Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, gdzie &#8211; w jednym z zakończeń &#8211; tytuł  zakończył się w momencie, gdy rozpoczyna się słynny pierwowzór, spinając oba tytuły wyraźną klamrą. Widok Clouda zmierzającego na dachu pociągu w stronę stacji kolejowej (gdzie rozpoczyna się jego przygoda) oraz najsłynniejszej w dziejach elektronicznej rozrywki kwiaciarki pobudziły wyobraźnie fanów. Kroplą która przelała czarę był wieńczący filmik napis: &#8220;To be continued in Final Fantasy VII&#8221;. <strong>Mimo, że firma Square-Enix stale zaprzecza wszelkim plotkom na temat planowanego remake, kwestia ta staje się coraz bardziej prawdopodobna. </strong>Setki tysięcy fanów, którzy wspólnie podpisali petycje na temat przywrócenia legendarnej gry w odświeżonej wersji na konsole nowej generacji, z pewnością nie mogła przejść bez echa. Dodatkowym płomieniem podsycającym oczekiwania fanów okazał się być film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, który za sprawą przepięknych animacji ożywił znane postacie na ekranie i pozwolił osobom nie mającym dotychczas styczności z grą zasmakowanie w pigułce jej specyficznego klimatu. Być może nadchodzące Tokyo Game Show (20-23 września b.r.) naświetli nowe perspektywy na temat powrotu legendy na sklepowe półki.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Korzystając z opinii internautów oraz własnych preferencji zebrałem listę kilku interesujących innowacji, które pozwoliłyby wzbogacić Final Fantasy VII, bez szkód dla gameplay’u &#8211; jak wiadomo łatwo można przesadzić i spotkać się przez to z ostracyzmem ze strony największych fanów, więc złotym środkiem okazuje się być <strong>zbalansowanie innowacji na tyle, by hardkorowi miłośnicy nie poczuli się oszukani, zaś nowi odbiorcy mogli bez skrępowania odkryć, czemu gra zawdzięcza swoją popularność</strong>. Oto proponowane zmiany:</p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family:&#34;"><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>2) Lepsza translacja gry z języka japońskiego</strong>, gdyż nawet pecetowa wersja posiadała lepsze tłumaczenie z języka japońskiego, niż oryginał na PSone.</span></span></p>
