Fiat along with a joint venture with TATA Motors brought in another hatchback car in the Indian Market “Fiat Grande Punto“. The basic difference between Punto and other hatchback cars was that this car was a premium car and also sported a look of a Sedan from the front. Punto was already doing well in the international market after its launch in 2005, In India it was brought in 2009 and is expected to repeat its success.

Fiat Grande Punto has been embedded with long headlights, glossy bumper, smooth lines and has one of the best paint jobs done on the exteriors. Fiat Grande Punto is available in the market in both petrol and diesel version and is classified under Active, Dynamic and Emotion variants. This is one of the best adverts I’ve ever seen! Not only is it real and funny but it also puts women in the driving seat with all the power – i like it! With most girls in that scenario of the boyfriend with the wandering eye, they would get jealous, feel self-conscious and pout- when they should just get even. I know i would.
In all honesty when watching the ad, you do forget what it’s for. The ‘Spirit of Punto’ tag line is playful and is putting the women in the driving seat. I i feel like it’s trying to say it’s a women’s car! – I’m never clear with the point of adverts, I just like looking at their creativity. My 60 year old ‘male’ neighbour drives a very used Grande Punto around Ashford… badly! It was a lovely little car – he’s ruined it and ruined the spirit of it for me.

Enquanto na Europa o Fiat Punto muda de cara, aqui no Brasil o que muda são os preços do carro. A partir de agora o Punto 1.4 básico começa a custar R$ 36.640. Dois mil reais a menos do que antes.

Já a versão ELX, também 1,4, parte de R$ 40.470, também R$ 2 mil mais em conta. A marca passou a oferecer o kit Confort para os carros com motor 1.4. Por R$ 2,1 mil, o comprador leva ar condicionado, painel central do carro na cor prata, volante com regulagem de altura e profundidade e para-brisa degradê.

Segundo a Fiat, o investimento compensa, já que só o ar-condicionado sozinho custa mais que isso. Se o consumidor fosse comprar tudo separado o valor subiria mais 50%.

Nas versões com motor 1.8 a redução de preços foi ainda maior, R$ 2,3 mil. o Punto HLX agora parte de R$ 43.310, já a versão esportiva Sporting começa em R$ 50.700. Somente o Punto T-Jet que não teve redução de preços. Continua custando R$ 59.980.

É claro que a iniciativa da Fiat tem como objetivo compensar o fim da redução de preços causados pelo IPI.

Europcar, compañía europea de alquiler de coches, ha celebrado una alianza con Fiat para añadir una nueva gama de coches ecológicos a su flota de coches de alquiler.

Hablando sobre la decisión de Europcar de celebrar una alianza con Fiat, el Director de Marketing Internacional de la empresa, Jehan de Thè, comentó que Fiat, siendo “líder en ventas con el nivel medio de emisiones de C02 más bajo del mercado” fue considerado el partner perfecto para Europcar.

Mio cugino Giacomo è davvero incazzato. Si è fissato che Costa il romeno, quello che abita nel prefabbricato in fondo alla strada, gli ha rubato la sua Fiat Punto del 2000, 1800 euro quotazione quattroruote, ma dodicimila euro di modifiche. Spoiler e pneumatici esclusi. E diosolosa quanto mio cugino Giacomo ci tenga a quell’astronave. E diosolosa quanto mio cugino Giacomo sia un violento testa di cazzo. Beh… a pensarci bene quello lo sanno tutti: i quattro dentisti in paese dovrebbero fargli una statua. Una statua di ceramica odontoiatrica. E non posso nascondere che essere stato il cugino di mio cugino Giacomo, mi abbia reso la vita facile, soprattutto da ragazzino. “Ma tu sai a chi è cugino quello?”, me lo sono sentito bisbigliare spesso alle spalle, e la cosa a quattordicianni ti fa sentire qualcuno, anche se sei solo il cugino di qualcuno. Non è il momento di spiegare a mio cugino Giacomo che tecnicamente Costa non è extracomunitario. E’ sempre stato destroide mio cugino Giacomo, ma negli ultimi anni la cosa sembrava non interessargli più. Poi ha scoperto questa storia delle ronde ed è andato fuori di testa, ha tirato fuori manganelli, tirapugni, catene e tutta la canfrusaglia fascista che non usava più da quando lo avevano interdetto dallo stadio. Anche questa roba delle ronde non è il caso di spiegargliela ora.
Costa guarda dalla finestra. Ha le palle Costa. Oppure ha avuto una paresi. Perché è dietro la finestra e non batte ciglio. E la cosa fa incazzare ancora di più mio cugino Giacomo. Non so perchè abbia pensato proprio a Costa, forse un giorno lo ha visto guardare l’astronave in modo strano, oppure semplicemente è stato il primo extracomunitario-non-extracomunitario che gli è venuto in mente. A quella testa di cazzo. Una persona normale che non trova più la macchina dove dovrebbe stare, va a fare denuncia, oppure chiama i vigili per sapere se l’hanno rimossa, e non va davanti casa del primo sconosciuto che gli viene in mente minacciandolo di morte. Non butta giù dal letto il cugino che lo ospita, che è ridotto uno straccio e vorrebbe solo dormire. E diosolosa quanto vorrebbe dormire.
Mio cugino Giacomo prende un sasso e lo lancia contro il prefabbricato, poi ne prende un’altro e lancia pure quello. E poi un altro ancora. Lo conosco, non semetterebbe nemmeno se Costa uscisse con un aureola in testa scortato da due cherubini. E’ l’inizio della fine. Quando finirà i sassi prenderà a calci la porta, e una volta venuta giù la porta diosolosa cosa succederà. Non è il caso di spiegargli in questo momento il concetto di precedente penale. Sarebbe utile, ma di certo non è il caso, in questo momento. E a dirlatutta non è il caso neanche di spiegargli che la sua macchina è nel parcheggio del Morpheus, che stanotte ero così ubriaco che non sarei riuscito nemmeno a togliere l’allarme. Sarebbe utile, ma non è il caso di spiegargli il concetto di sicurezza stradale. Non in questo momento.

"Rest in Pieces" – Mein Tribut an meinen guten alten Punto

Nach langen treuen Jahren habe ich mich nun doch von meinem alten Fiat Punto getrennt. Die Abwrackprämie  hat einen Neukauf dann so interessant gemacht, dass ich mich kurzfristig für einen Toyota iQ entschieden habe. Jap, ich war mit dem Punto zufrieden und über 9 Jahre oft auf Reisen aber am Ende habe ich mich nur noch gefragt was wann als Nächstes kaputt geht. Gerade aufgrund der letzten Erfahrungen kam für mich Fiat als Marke nicht mehr in Frage.

Da ich seit dem Winter 2008 schon regelmäßig im Internet nach einem neuen Wagen gestöbert hatte, war Toyota direkt in der engeren Auswahl als es nun konkreter wurde. Zwei Probefahrten später war klar, dass es definitiv KEIN Aygo werden würde (genauso klapperig und laut wie der Punto – wenn schon Neuwagen, dann was Gescheites!). Beim iQ hat mich von Anfang an das Konzept begeistert: Fast so kurz wie ein smart, so breit wie ein “Großer” und es passen theoretisch vier Leute rein. 4-Sitzer dürfte auf jeden Fall für die Japaner zutreffen. Hier in Deutschland (und gerade mit mir als Fahrer) ist 3,5-Sitzer doch realistischer. Da ich meist alleine oder mit ein, zwei Freunden unterwegs bin, geht das Konzept wunderbar für mich auf. Ich kann mehr Leute mitnehmen und wenn nicht, dann habe ich den optimalen Kleinwagen für die Stadt.

Seit Ende März darf ich diesen “smarten Reiskocher” mein Eigen nennen …

Kennedy poursuit sa quête, assoiffé de flow qu’il est. Il les lui faut tous. On sait pas bien pourquoi mais il les lui faut.

“-J’ai tous les flow EN MÊME TEMPS ! gros ! Oui c’est possible, gros ! YES WE CAN !”

Il a déjà essayé de subtiliser celui de Booba lors de leurs sessions communes en studio mais le météore a su le remettre en place :

Ken -Euh… OK… Et toi Mala ? Tu en as fait quoi de ton ancien flow ?

Mala -Je suis pas ta copine moi ! Alors casse toi ou y aura du catch à l’arrière !

Ken -Que je me cache à l’arrière ? Mais à l’arrière de quoi, je ne saisis pas…

Il interpréta ces paroles à sa sauce et alla se cacher à l’arrière de la voiture de LIM de la Movez Lang. Et quand LIM était au volant à pleine vitesse, Kennedy sort de la couche de cul de joints qui tapissait la banquette.

LIM -Mais ? Qu’est ce tu fous là ? Ouais ?

Ken -J’étais caché là pendant que tu conduisais EN MÊME TEMPS ! Truc de ouf ! Et maintenant tu vas me lâcher ton flow.

LIM -J’aime bien qu’on me pompe en conduisant d’habitude mais là tu vas aller te faire enculer tout de suite mon petit bonhomme. Je préfère les putes ! Ouais !

Ken -T’as pas le choix EN MÊME TEMPS parce que je cache tes mains pendant que tu conduis EN MÊME TEMPS !

LIM -Je crois que ça mérite un nique ta mère… Nique ta mèèèèèèèèèèèère !

Kennedy descend alors de la Fiat Punto. Et plus personne ne maintient ses mains sur les yeux de LIM. Cela dit LIM il est déter (et fonsdé) ! C’est pas un PD. Ce qu’il dit il le fait. Et il fonce alors à toute blinde en ligne droit jusqu’à l’accident et se réveillera d’un coma quelques temps plus tard sans aucun souvenir de cet épisode.

Cette fois ci Kennedy s’en sort bien.

Il entreprends alors de s’en prendre à des rappeurs plus posés, plus assagis. Par exemple : Busta Flex.

Ken -Non, non. Je veux dire que t’en as vraiment trop ! L’auditeur n’a VRAIMENT pas pied. Il se noie, il ne va plus suivre ton délire.

Ken -Bien sûr. Quand j’étais petit et que j’écoutais ton premier album j’étais en galère. Sur “Pourquoi ?” et “Le zedou” par exemple c’est plus du tout le même flow. Truc de ouf !

Ken -Moi je te reconnaissais pas. Je croyais que c’était un autre mec en feat. J’ai mis longtemps à comprendre que c’était toi. Truc de ouf gros !

Ken -T’es fou gros ! Les profs disaient que j’avais une intelligence au dessus de la moyenne. Que je foutais rien mais que mes notes étaient au dessus de la moyenne. Gros !

Busta -Non mais les profs ils disent ça à presque tout le monde pour les forcer à travailler un peu plus. T’as jamais remarqué ?

Ken -On s’en fout EN MÊME TEMPS ! Moi je te le dis l’auditeur va pas te suivre. Il faut pas varier les flows. Regarde moi, j’ai toujours le même flow et tout le monde me reconnaît comme ça. Et partout en France on me dit que j’ai un gros buzz dans la street.

Busta -C’est vrai que j’aurais bien besoin de buzz…

Ken -Alors réenregistre tous tes nouveaux morceaux mais essaye de ne pas avoir trop de flow cette fois ci.

Busta -Je sais pas si je pourrais. Je sais que tu peux pas comprendre mais moi j’ai l’habitude de rapper de façon original et vivante. Ça me parait impossible…

An Irish sunset at the IPC

Some days I catch myself dreaming of returning to Canada. It doesn’t happen that often, but often enough that I think I may have a problem. It’s not that there’s really that much wrong with Ireland, I mean, I’m growing accustomed to their “chipper culture,” football-crazed populace and fashion politics. But while I can’t stand the food, still can’t get into football and enjoy my jeans and T-shirts, I do feel that I’m finding a way to still live the life I think is possible here without being influenced too much by the inherited nuances most of the Irish seem to live with so absent minded and unaware.

The boyfriend went through a period where he got addicted to tv abit. I think, however, he’s coming back to me, but I’m not sure. Television does have that retention issue when people begin to surf the millions of available channels and learn to live with crap broadcasting. And I think one of the biggest reasons why he’s coming around again is because he has access to his sister’s car right now. Oh, and we’re looking into buying our own car. I forgot how much freedom I felt when I owned my own car. But years of living in Toronto without a car made me think that I could get on fine in this new land without one. Besides, they drive on the wrong side of the road and on the wrong side of the car, so it would be like an extreme sport for me. I guess that’s why the skydiver in me decided to buy a car. We’re looking into buying one from a friend of his sister’s. It’s a Fiat Punto. I have not seen it yet, but apparently it’s yellow. I can’t wait to drive it. I just hope that the Irish let me drive on my Canadian licence because I haven’t gotten around to getting an Irish one yet. Oh, and then there’s the small issue of insurance. Apparently in Ireland it’s always young men who crash their cars, so women always get cheap insurance. We’re talking like maybe 300-500 Euro a year for me. Pretty awesome huh?

Besides the thoughts of returning to Canada and taking on the driving challenge, life here hasn’t changed all that much. The weather change, however, is beginning to have an affect on me. Back in Canada everyone is crawling out of their dens of hibernation and venturing out in the 20+ weather to budding trees and warm winds and all the gloriousness that is soon to come with summer. The trees are budding here, but it’s only 15 degrees at the highest. Summer doesn’t come to Ireland anymore. Apparently it took a rain check about 15 years ago and has never been spotted in this green land since. I can go out in a T-shirt, but I have to bring a sweater with me just in case. I’ve heard this still sticks true in July and August. It doesn’t make me that happy. I love my summer. I love my beach and tanning and the heat and ice cream and sweating and all that good stuff that comes along with the summer in Southern Ontario. And now I have to deal with four seasons in one day here. I know people say that talking about the weather is one of those things you do when you get old, but my joints do ache and the weather is important to me. I will end on this note. I do not like the weather in Ireland, but I’ll deal with it for love.

Superminis are bought because they are affordable, fun to drive and can be parked easily. They can act as fashion symbol for some of its buyers. If you are in the amrket for budget superminis, you simplay aren’t short of choices. Which one would you vote for?

The Fiat Grande Punto is – as its name suggests – bigger than previous Puntos. But that’s not to say it’s lost its youthful charm.
