So according to the recent Preseason Balance Update 2 Patch Notes post on the League of Legends site, the newest champion to be released goes by the name of Thresh, The Chain Warden. Nothing has been said about this menacing looking fellow on the actual site but if you stroll on over to the League wiki (link will be posted down at the bottom) you will find some detailed information on Thresh’s abilities and what not. From what I can gather, Thresh will definitely bring some interesting dynamics to League, especially in team fighting aspects.

I am here as an AD Carry to discuss my concern with a common occurrence that will often result in a sad AD Carry, as well as the loss of a teamfight / game. The thing I talk about is leaving your carry to “fend for themselves.” There are multiple reasons that this happens, I’ll go over a few:

1. Tunnel vision. This happens to all of us. The teamfight happens and we want to get in there and do all we can. Heaven forbid our team complain about us not fighting! Unfortunately, that happens and the enemy Irelia, Olaf, Rengar, Kha’zix, Riven, Poppy, Akali, Diana, etc jumps on your carry and kills them.
2. (This can be applied to 1 a bit) “Just kite them, I see Doublelift/Chaox/AD-pr0-X-here do it all the time.” This probably irritates me the most, as a pretty confidant AD player. The issue is that, yes the pros may be able to do it, but they are also 2200 ELO players, not 1500 ELO players. Kiting to some extent works, but they are succeeding in their goal — zoning the carry. Running for your life is the same thing as being dead as far as a fight is concerned. We’re doing no damage.
3. “Don’t focus the tanky champ.” I hear this over and over again, especially against Olaf. He’s tanky, we’re wasting too much time killing him. While you’re not focusing the tanky guy because it takes too long, the un-CC able viking shoves his axe up Caitlyn’s ass.

People seem to take the term “babysitting” as a negative term to throw at players that can’t hold-their-own. But babysitting is exactly what an AD needs. We’re the definition of “glass cannon.” We all know that the AD is what decides late game team fights, yet almost every game I play I see people either forgetting or ignoring that fact.

So please, very fed Darius, stand near your Tristiana. You’ll still get to chop heads.

For the love of god Taric, don’t blow your stun on their Janna, save your glorious burst for that manly Lee Sin. You know you’d prefer that anyway.

And you, Nautilus. Youuuuuuuu. I know you like to see how far your ult will go, but be a good scuba diver and detonate that at your feet, whilst you stun the **** out of an Irelia.

Babysit your carries and peel for them, because even ones that aren’t awful (1500+ ELO) can’t kite a tenacious Irelia.

The wait is finally over summoners! Nidalee The Bestial Huntress has received a long overdue visual upgrade and particle effect clean up along with some fierce new splash art. Look for this new cougar in the upcoming patch.

Soon there will be another patch which will tweak the gameplay on the Fields of Justice. This time we’ll be seeing changes to Graves, Corki, and Ezreal along with buffs for Evelynn, the Widowmaker. In addition, the Abyssal Scepter will be receiving some changes as well. Check it all out below.

Rengar, the Pridestalker is now available to play on the Fields of Justice. This new champion as always is 975 RP or 6300 IP. Also there’s a bundle which includes the champion and its new skin for just 1462 RP. The new skin is Headhunter Rengar which can be seen below.

Syndra, the Dark Sovereign

In addition to Rengar, we’ll have another upcoming champion available for play at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. After the Pridestalker joins the League, Syndra, the Dark Sovereign, will descend upon the Fields of Justice in the following patch. A magical prodigy, Syndra conjures powerful dark spheres, and even wields enemy minions and monsters as weapons. Here’s the full rundown of her abilities.

• Transcendent (Passive): Each of Syndra’s normal abilities gain an extra effect at max rank.
  o Dark Sphere: Spheres deal bonus damage to champions.
  o Force of Will: Projectiles briefly knocks enemies into the air.
  o Scatter the Weak: Cone width increases.
• Dark Sphere: Syndra conjures a dark sphere at a target location, dealing magic damage in an area. The sphere remains for several seconds and can be manipulated by Syndra’s other abilities.
• Force of Will:
  o First Cast: Grabs a target dark sphere, enemy minion or neutral monster.
  o Second Cast: Throw a grasped dark sphere or enemy at a target area. Enemies struck by the projectile take magic damage and are slowed.
• Scatter the Weak: Deals magic damage in a cone and knocks enemies away based on how close they are to Syndra. Dark spheres within the area-of-effect are also knocked back, dealing magic damage and stunning enemies in their path.
• Unleashed Power (Ultimate): Draws upon Syndra’s full cataclysmic power, harnessing all active dark spheres to deal additional magic damage to an enemy champion.

Syndra’s kit revolves around the manipulation of short-duration globes left behind by Dark Sphere. While the function of Dark Sphere is very simple on the surface, proper sphere management can be the difference between success and failure with Syndra. Each of her abilities can be used on its own in a pinch, but good sphere placement ensures that Syndra always has the ammunition she needs to throw projectiles with Force of Will, and creates new firing angles for globes launched with Scatter the Weak.

While it might be tempting to snatch up a defenseless minion and use it as a projectile, Syndra’s Force of Will ability really shines when it’s used in conjunction with dark spheres. Syndra can use Force of Will to reposition these globes for a successful shot with Scatter the Weak while Dark Sphere is on cooldown, or to extend the duration of a sphere that’s about to expire in order to build up ammunition on the battlefield. Ultimately, keeping your sphere count high in this manner will allow you to dictate the course of a battle by threatening a large area.

The importance of managing your dark spheres is most keenly illustrated by Syndra’s ultimate ability, Unleashed Power. The increased damage granted by each active sphere can transform this ability from high-damage nuke into a cataclysmic attack. Good planning and strategic dark sphere placement can make Syndra an intimidating opponent to face in mid lane.

Anyway, let’s get on to a few basics. I’ve been playing League of Legends off and on for nearly 3 years or so. A lot more time off than on, but I’ve gotten back into it quite heavily, lately. I wouldn’t describe myself as “pro”, but I’m far from terrible. Lately I’ve been playing the hell out of Gragas, and enjoying every second of it. I don’t have a ton of champions, but I do have a bit of a selection. I’d like to buy more, but I’ve been spending all of my IP on getting a rune page set up for Gragas. I’d really love to get out into the League community a little bit, and kind of get the ball rolling on that end. Getting more involved in other communities, like World of Warcraft and the like, would be awesome too, but I’ll keep my goals feasible for now. Anyway, that’s all for now, I guess. League of Legends latest champion, Diana, Scorn of the Moon, is now available to play on the Fields of Justice. The new addition to the roster gives players the ability to choose this AP melee fighter. She’s available for just 6300 IP or 975 RP. Also if you wish to use RP, then you can pick up the champion along with the brand new Dark Valkyrie skin for just 1462RP until the end of the weekend. Battlecast Prime Cho’Gath has been spotted. Get ready to welcome a new skin on the Fields of Justice. No word yet on when the release date is, but hopefully soon. It’ll be available for 1820 RP since it is a legendary skin.

Riot Games has revealed the next new champion to join the ranks on the Fields of Justice, Diana, the Scorn of the Moon. Check it out below.

The tide of battle is turning, summoners. With ceaseless aggression, powered and protected by the lunar light, Diana, Scorn of the Moon, controls and chases her enemies through the battlefield, leaving them no sunlight for solace.

Diana’s high area of effect damage and defensive abilities make her an ideal jungler. Pale Cascade creates three orbiting spheres that detonate and deal damage to any enemy that comes close, while protecting her with a shield that absorbs any incoming damage. If all three orbs are detonated, the shield effect is refreshed, allowing her to absorb even more punishment. This destructive shield, combined with a cleaving attack from her passive, Moonsilver Blade, helps her deal out significant damage to multiple targets as she quickly tears through jungle camps.

Drawing power from the moon, Diana’s kit revolves around her use of Moonlight to prep her enemies for an incoming attack. The breakneck pace of Diana’s gameplay and her relentless chasing potential are driven by the interplay between Crescent Strike and her ultimate ability, Lunar Rush. A unique curved skillshot, Crescent Strike unleashes lunar energy in an arc, damaging any enemies in its path and simultaneously afflicting them with Moonlight. Casting Lunar Rush to teleport to an enemy afflicted by Moonlight will reset the ability cooldown while consuming all active Moonlight debuffs. Judicious use of Moonlight combined with accurate casts of Crescent Strike gives Diana incredible mobility and sustained damage throughout a long fight. While using Lunar Rush only in combination with Moonlight will give Diana the highest damage output over time, you may make a judgment call and accept the longer cooldown to either directly rush a vulnerable target or double tap a Moonlight afflicted enemy for heavy burst damage.

Diana’s kit really comes together in a team fight. After initiating with Crescent Strike and Lunar Rush, she can follow up with Moonfall, drawing in and slowing all nearby enemies, holding them in range for Moonsilver Blade and Pale Cascade until Crescent Strike is ready again. The added durability of her shield helps her survive heavy damage, while the mobility of a Moonlight-enhanced ultimate helps her pursue and assassinate high-value targets. With the complex interplay of her abilities, Diana’s got the potential to control the jungle while executing quick ganks and threatening enemies in team fights.

Zyra, Rise of the Thorns, will soon be available to play on the Fields of Justice. This new champion summons plants to defend her and attack her opponents. She will be available for 6300 IP or 975 RP. In addition, you can pick up this blossoming new champion in the Zyra bundle, which features the champion and the Wildfire Zyra skin for 1462 RP within the League of Legends store. Corporate Mundo is back and has discounted Volibear, Teemo, and LeBlanc for the beginning of this week. Volibear and LeBlanc are down to 487 RP, while Teemo is available for just 292 RP. The Darius patch has gone through and now you play Riot Games’ new champion as well as play on the updated Fields of Justice. In the next patch, as they stated months ago, Riot Games will finally implement the spectator mode they originally announced. You’ll be able to watch your friends play their games. Not only will you be able to watch your own friends, but you’ll also be able to watch “featured games” which will showcase some of the best League of Legends players. Two main features Riot Games added to the new spectator mode are timeshift controls as well as directed camera. The timeshift controls allow people to watch any part of the game in case they missed anything or joined in late to watch the game. It’ll let people be able to watch those key moments nobody ever wants to miss. In addition, the directed camera feature will allow people to watch the most engaging activity that is happening on the Fields of Justice. Therefore, it’ll focus on such actions like First Blood and team fights if they are occurring. The directed camera also lets people choose a specific player to focus their camera on.
