“I think I wrote this sketch because I was reading “Final Cut” by Steven Bach, about the making of Heaven’s Gate. Also, the joke that most people laugh at in this sketch is the “full scale model of Planet Earth,” which was *ahem* “inspired” by a very similar Steven Wright joke”

I always thought branding ‘failure’ on the child’s forehead because he kept forgetting his lines was a fitting punishment…

Also, The first ‘Phil’s Filthy Stories‘ skit’ is tagged on this video – We shot this in a bathroom at New England Community College one summer. I always liked this bit – we wrote a bunch of them, but only a few made it to video. Somehow, when Tom’s voice goes up an octave, you get the feeling there might be some truth to the stories after all…

Music awards are one of the few televised awards programs that I enjoy watching. In most cases you can enjoy some very great performances.  I am not generally a fan of rap music but even on this show I found that I enjoyed some of this.

Just what the hell was this thing by Adam Lambert. It seemed like something out a bad B grade movie or something you would run into on a BDSM site.   If the producers of the AMA show were fully aware of the content of this show then shame on them.  I can’t see how they couldn’t know given the rehearsals that would have occurred.  I am a pretty open minded person but this performance certainly did not fit with the aura of this publicly broadcasted event.  I would have thought that the producers would be intelligent people and realize the spectrum of the viewing public, from seniors down to young children.

This performance would be fine if you were paying to go view it at a performance center but to put this on television the AMA has lost an incredible amount of credibility.  I love a great deal of the current artists but I would not pay to see Adam Lambert.  I could not even use his name and artist in the same sentence.  Even closing my eyes and listening to the music I thought it was a substandard performance.  I’ll bet his parents are real proud today.

I hope that the producers have taken some lessons away from this and that future shows will be more closely scrutinized.  Mistakes can be made, that happens in life.  The right thing is to learn from those lessons and not repeat them.  This performance is way worse than the so called wardrobe failure of Janet Jackson a few years ago.

Considered as the underdog in the contest for the nobel prize for the most filthy country contest, India has managed to emerge a clear winner, with all the dirtiest and the filthiest (both politically and literally) countries voting for it. But with or without their backing, India always has inside connections with its civic administration and its citizens etiquettes to support their nomination.

But things are heading towards change with Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment and Forests, Mr. Jairam Ramesh, taking over the control this year. During four years in power as a minister of power for state, he forgot to bring about any major revolution in the non conventional and renewable power source usage. Maybe his statement, about India being clear candidate for the award, is just a way of penance for his last five years.

Lets update this post at the end of his term in current capacity, to see what all changes have been brought about.

Nonsense in the dark, a track taken from the Filthy Dukes album that bears the same name plods down a dreamy synth pop road for six and a half minutes. I assume (and hope) there’s going to be a reasonable length radio edit because only one idea seems to prevail throughout, stagnating well before halfway.

It is a case of purely unoffensive electro with a large dose of sugary pop, leaving it devoid of any notion of substance or passion. The vocals are just running through the motions, apathetic warbling a mere substitute for anything interesting to say. I wouldn’t be surprised find its way to soundtracking a teen TV drama of similar calibur.

I’ve read her blog before, and wow you never seem to stop getting surprised at some of the loathesome, worthless pieces of shit there is in this CUNTry.
Nothing but a snotnosed, spoiled, little fjortis writing about her ’successful’ life, she contributes nothing of interest or value to anyone who reads her blog; apart from the satisfaction of equally brainless and putrid fjortisar…
When she came to our school, she was litterally reaking with vile and sickening perfume that could be smellt a mile away; I didnt fret to express myself saying out loudly that “It stinks of filthy old whore here!” , and her very presense gave an awful tingle coursing thru ones body.
Attention whore, to make it simple…and what also is sad are her ‘friends’ that seem to love bascing in her fame and fortune, if she wasnt anything, they wouldnt be either.

Sad, sad, sad.

Anyways, having that said…
Im going to play some MGS now, really wish I had all games though.
A Gamecube for Twin Snakes and a PS3 for Guns of the Patriots.
I think in the coming year I will most def get these, but for the PS3 we´ll have to get a full HD tv or it wont be worth a penny.
The new line of LED Tvs are very attractive right now, maybe one of those?

Seattle is what San Fran should be. Rainy and shitty weather, laid back atmosphere, approachable people and good food (despite Seattle’s hard core love for both beef cheeks AND pork cheeks. A dinner item I have yet to see offered at any self-respecting San Franciscan organic eatery).

From there, things take a dramatic turn on the Scale O’ Suck with SF taking a massive plummet due to overall dirt and feebleness and the rampant homelessness (and not the ‘hard luck, I wanna’ help you out’ kind of homeless but the ‘Holy shit, I don’t want to have to breathe the same breath as this crazy bastard’ homeless).

Here are two pictures of my friend’s beverage mug. I say beverage because looking at this thing I have absolutely no idea what he’s really putting in here. Coffee? Tea? Hot chocolate? Pop?

Could you put your lips to something like this, even assuming that it’s your mess on that thing? Not me, sorry, but I had a difficult time going close enough to it just to snap a couple of pictures.

Cuando iba a clase sabía cada cuánto se lavaban el pelo todas mis compañeras, las que me gustaban y las que no, y llegaba a preferir a las feas limpias que a las guapas pringosas. Pues bien, ésta tenía el pelo fatal, no era bonita, no se callaba ni a palos y para colmo padecía insomnio. Allí estaba yo, desparramándome de sueño, y era como esa tortura temible consistente en despertar al cautivo violentamente cada vez que cierra los ojos. No sé qué le hacía pensar que su torrente de información me interesaba lo más mínimo, pero tampoco se le había ocurrido lavarse la cabeza en lo que iba de semana, qué más podía esperar de ella. Hubiera dado mi reino, mi caballo y las cenizas de mi abuela por quedar impune tras su asesinato, pero ni siquiera una duchita rápida podía sugerir sin humillar su débil naturaleza, cómo iba a amordazarla, cómo iba a pedirle que se callara. Me daba pena, coño, contaba unas historias muy tristes.

Yo compartía cuarto con ella casualmente, jamás lo habría elegido, no penséis que eran las cinco de la mañana y que en la discoteca el licor y las luces habían logrado ofrecerme una ilusión tan ligera y brillante como una Nancy hueca recién sacada de la caja.

Un inesperado alboroto procedente de la calle me hizo abrir bruscamente los ojos de nuevo, era como si hubieran demolido un edificio, un ruido enorme, de mucho miedo. Nos miramos y ella, ágil como una rata, dio un salto y salió corriendo para mirar por el balcón, al otro  lado de la casa. Yo atravesé el largo pasillo y cuando estaba a punto de alcanzarla volvió sobre sus pasos anunciando que no era nada. Sólo entonces me di cuenta de que iba en bragas, porque veréis, es que yo soy muy miope y estaba tratando de dormir, no me había fijado. Al cruzarse conmigo distinguí su piel desnuda y caminé tras ella en silencio, intentando acercarme lo máximo posible para juzgar su espalda. La línea de su cintura era cimbreante y confusa y el trazo se difuminaba constantemente para mis pobres ojos defectuosos. Pero en conjunto, que es la única manera en que puede apreciar las formas un miope, me pareció un fantasma precioso de largos cabellos rubios y figura escurridiza. Como seguir la quimera de lo que un día fue la pequeña Teagan Presley.

Recomiendo mucho la segunda parte del vídeo.

De repente me ablandé como un muñeco de mazapán y pensé que ella no se merecía semejantes desdenes, que era una criatura melosa y vulnerable, que no había elegido ni sus circunstancias ni sus atributos, que merecía mi respeto y mi condescendencia, y no recuerdo bien qué le dije ni cómo se lo dije pero diez minutos después se había dejado introducir dócilmente en la bañera y derrochaba champú.

So I’m sick. AGAIN. I’ve been sick for nearly four months!! Just flu symptoms, driving me up the damn wall. I thought I was finally getting over it, but now they’re back in spades. Running rose, sore throat, my tonsils look like MSN ‘angry emoticons’.

PS. One of those girls showed up to look at the place last night.. with NO WARNING! I was lying in bed like a bum, surrounded by tomato sauce bottles. She’ll never call me.

I can be described as decent, logical being. Most people can. However, the person who is responsible for Zardoz may be the weirdest, most scatterbrained human that ever existed.  Instead of the usual tirade, I will start with summarizing the film immediately and I’ll also do it in one word – confusion. In fact, a more apt description would be “utter bloody confusion”. Why? I’ll explain it in the next few paragraphs, trying to painfully, with surgical precision, remove every ounce of the film from my poor, tortured mind.
There are so many inconsistencies and problems with this film that I could write an entire book the length of War and Peace just by making every scene I had a problem with into a chapter. However, before I get on with the rampaging rhinoceros that I like to call critique, I’d like to first tell you the positive aspects of the film. One is that it is unintentionally hilarious at quite a few parts, which really makes it a somewhat worthwhile experience. The sets are quite good for their time too, even if they do give me the impression that this film was shot in Switzerland, in some abandoned town.
The first thing that is wrong with this film is, perhaps, the inclusion of Sean Connery, who I hail as one of the greatest actors in the 20th century. I have to ask why. Why Sean Connery? Why the greatest James Bond? I don’t understand why would Sean Connery even took this. From the first page of the script (where they list the cast), this film is already terrible.  It’s so confusing and so illogical that it makes my brain shut down repeatedly even thinking about it.
Now, onto the incredibly confusing plot of this science fiction horror we do not even mention. (Especially in the context of Sean Connery’s greatest work). The film takes place in AD 2293. How do I know this? I checked Wikipedia just after watching the film, because I apparently missed a tiny bit of text that says that in the most awful position possible, also known as the bottom right hand corner, obscured by the corner of the screen. It’s also a post-apocalyptic Earth, but we’re never given an explanation as to what happened, why, how, when, who and so many other questions are left completely ignored and out in the cold.

There are social classes in the world that are called the “brutals”, also known as normal people; the “exterminators”, who have the express permission the “eternals” to kill all the “brutals”, because the “brutals” multiply. Why is this bad, we are never given an explanation. All I understood is that Zardoz thinks that the penis is evil and the gun is good. No, really. That’s a paraphrased quote directly from the film itself.  So, somehow, Sean Connery gets inside the giant stone head we know as Zardoz, which is filled with grain and naked people in plastic wrappers.

If you can stomach that, I applaud your tolerance for stupidity. Ahem. As you can see, this plot is, even without spoiling it too much,  quite insane and incoherent. Not only is the film filled with obscenities (such as a 15 minute sequence of studying Sean Connery’s genitalia), but it also makes no sense, gives no explanations and leaves us completely cut of from anything this film may have meant in a philosophical context. It is so immensely difficult to wrap around and enjoy that I would call the plot of Transformers 2, a film that had no plot what-so-ever,  superior, because at least it isn’t there for me to not be able to comprehend.

I have to say that I despised the costumes. They are, by far, the worst I’ve ever seen. They’re not only increasingly disgusting and filthy, but they are also some of the most revealing or, in other cases, are completely not befit the gender they are assigned to. Just by seeing a picture of this film, we are almost always given the still shot of Sean Connery in bright red underwear in thigh-high leather boots and with two bandoleers across his chest, also bright red. That is probably the single most demeaning costume that great actor ever wore. This isn’t just disgusting, this is on the edge of becoming an obscenity. However, seeing as this is an adult (possibly?) film, I’m going to halt the demand for censors.

The actors, apart from Sean Connery, are the ugliest I’ve ever seen, making me cringe whenever any one of them is on screen and not only are they physically unattractive, but they are also some of the most wooden, stilted and sans personality humanoids I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. The women in the film are also what I like to call the black hole, since it seems that they completely tear away and destroy any talent that could have entered the scene, but, in fact, didn’t and was merely, once more, thrown outside as something unnecessary to this, er, piece of “art”.

The direction is also very, very poor. The only thing the director effectively manages to film is probably the landscape scenes, which are somewhat passable, even though I would still consider about one fourth to one fifth of them being just terrible. He also seems to have trouble focusing on the action, as we are constantly changing views, shifting and moving and, again, completely unable to understand what is going on in this film. I would argue that even Uwe Boll, a man I despise greatly, has better directorial abilities and potential than John Boorman, the visionary director, writer and producer of Zardoz.

The sound is also quite awful, with most scenes having incredibly poor sound quality and some just having no sound at all, even though we can see that sound is necessary to understand what is going on.

In the last 30 minutes, I suppose, the film just gets in the back seat and takes a lot of mescaline, as it goes completely of the rail of boredom into the realm of toying with the viewer’s mind, as the film becomes a lot more confusing, a lot more fast-paced and, while I will admit that the effects are quite good and the action is decent, it’s just so confusing that I cannot fathom what kind of brain thought this up. It seems inconceivable that a human with an ordinary, even a visionary mind, could make this pile of manure on the pavement.

Now, the evaluation. I have only a few words for the viewer who wishes to see Zardoz – DO NOT SEE THIS FILM. I apologise that I had to type in what young people these days call caps, but I had to get your attention.
