All those years of Mavis Beacon must have finally paid off. I finished off 8,000 words today, brining my total just above the NaNoWriMo requirement. Praise God. I think it was a modern-day miracle.

There was definately a sense of glee and accomplishment when I hit the “submit” button. My first little romance novel is finished! Don’t look for Call Me Cordelia to hit the bookstores any time soon but I’m looking forward to having my own draft copy soon.

I can finally sleep at night. Hurray!

Hardwood floors may be the crowning glory of every home they grace. With a little care and effort, you can ensure that your wood floors will last a lifetime and provide you with elegance, style, and sophistication. Knowing what type of finish you have is important to ensure that you are protecting and maintaining your investment. It may be a Polyurethane covering or a wax finish. You need to know the type of finish your, vacuum cleaner, floor has so you can choose the proper cleaners and polishers for your floor.

No matter what, vacuum cleaner, type of finish your floor has one rule remains the same. Water is most damaging to hardwood floors. There is just no getting around it, if water penetrates, vacuum cleaner, the surface finish of your floor and works its way into the boards, your floor will be damaged. Therefore, it is recommended that you use a slightly damp mop, vacuum cleaner, when cleaning your hardwood floors. A slightly damp mop will effectively clean the surface of your floor without allowing the water to penetrate through the finish. A very high glossy sheen on your wood floor means that it has a Polyurethane finish. If the floor looks matte, then it is a wax or oil based finish. There are specific hardwood floor cleaners designed for both finishes so make sure that you use an appropriately based cleaner.

Dusting and vacuuming are vitally important to maintaining the beauty and shine of your floor. Dirt can work its way into the crevices of your floor and cause damage. By dust mopping and vacuuming, vacuum cleaner, you can keep the high gloss appearance of your finish with, vacuum cleaner, out investing too much effort, time, or money. Using a soft brush attachment or a dust mop will pick up loose debris and dirt and protect your floor from damage. On average, expect to dust your floors weekly and when there, vacuum cleaner, are unexpected messes.

You should also protect your floors from surface damage. High heels, animal claws, and the legs, vacuum cleaner, of heavy furniture may all pose, vacuum cleaner, a threat to the shine of your floor. Unfortunately, they are also sources for gouges and permanent scuff marks as well. Protect your floor by placing area or throw, vacuum cleaner, rugs in high traffic areas, making sure that people don’t wear high heels on the floor, and, vacuum cleaner, by adding furniture pads to the bottom of your furniture, chairs, and table legs. If you have pets that will be spending, vacuum cleaner, time walking on your floors,, vacuum cleaner, make sure that their claws are properly trimmed to prevent them from scratching the wood surface. By taking these precautions and using a commercially prepared floor cleaner and polisher designed for your floor’s finish, you can ensure that your floors will provide you with a lifetime of excellence, beauty, and shine.

I went. I wrote. I conquered.

Upon passing the 50,000 word marker on my novel, I heaved a long sigh of relief before saving and closing the document. I stared at my desktop for some time wondering, “Where did this last month go? What have I done? What atrocity have I written?” Recalling what I called my plotline, I concluded that I wouldn’t reopen the file until 2010, and only then if I had a suitable plot to connect all the little events that composed the skeleton of my novel. That was all it was. Bones. It had characters and several events that laid them in place, like a skeleton on the floor. But without tissue, a skeleton is only a skeleton, as it doesn’t have the ligaments, muscles, tendons, organs, and skin to make it a living, breathing, stimulating story.

So, chuckling at myself, I filed the file away at decided to do other things.

With this completed, I can do other things with my life. I can shower again. Now I can go out into public without people collapsing in the disgust of my disorganized attire. Now I can think about other things. I don’t have to make nervous glances across the room at my laptop and whisper feverishly…”I need 1405 more words today…!”

Now I can once again start blogging, as it’s amazing how many nifty ideas show up when you’re not allowed to pursue them. I have a great many topics I’d like to think into and write about, and hopefully you’ll get a taste of them in December.

And speaking of December, Trailer Four is set to release on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2009), whether it’s finished or not. Either way, it will be uploaded and posted on the twenty-fourth. Thank you for not pestering me about it. More information will be releasing in regards to it between now and then.

That’s all for now, I think I’ve covered everything well enough. Thanks a bunch.

Alister McRae came third in the Rally of Scotland driving a Proton Satria. This is a first ever podium finish for Proton in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Now living in Perth Western Australia McRae recently returned to his native Perth shire in Scotland to race the Proton Satria Neo to its best ever result.

Only seven days earlier McRae almost won a place on the podium in the Rally of China in a similar Satria Neo S2000.

McRae has been impressed with the Mellors Elliott Motorsport Proton Satria Neo S2000 and would like to compete in more Rallies with the car in 2010.

The Satria Neo S2000 made its first appearance on the IRC in June this year at the Belgium Ypres Rally and has been quick to show off its potential.

Chris Mellors is the team principal and he confirmed that a full IRC campaign as well as the Asia Pacific series is being prepared for 2010.

“We’re looking at a four-car program for 2010 – two in the IRC and two in the FIA Asia-Pacific Championship,” he said.

“Alister has driven for us in the Asia-Pacific series this year and until this weekend that was what we were planning for 2010 as well, but I know he’s enjoying this weekend a great deal so it could be interesting sorting that out.”

McRae was pleased to record Proton’s first podium finish in the IRC.

“The Proton chassis is one of the best I have ever driven”.

“Yes we’re doing the full IRC next year. We are looking forward to coming back and fighting these guys again,” Alister said.

“Kris Meeke (rally winner) has christened me ‘old safe hands’ but I can assure you these old hands were working far quicker than the brain!” McRae added.

McRae’s father was very proud, he himself being a five times British rally champion, Jimmy McRae, has been working with organisers of the inaugural Rally of Scotland and was extremely proud of his son’s return from Australia and joked : “He’s still a McRae!”

The Proton Super 2000 has a two litre engine that is based on the 1.8 litre engine from the Waja model and produces 210kW at 7600rpm, its usable power band is from 5,500 to 8,500rpm and uses a six speed sequential Xtrac 4WD transmission.

The car has been fitted with an innovative quick-change fuel control cassette that includes all fuel pumps, filters and valves. This is attached to the safety fuel cell and helps with quick maintenance.

Ventilated discs with alloy four pot calipers combined with the Neo’s low weight of 1150kg gives it excellent braking performance. The size of the ventilated discs can be changed, depending on the size of the wheels used. 15 inch wheels are used on gravel and 18 inch on tarmac, the calipers remain the same only the discs are changed.

The suspension setup can be fine tuned for any surface with a variety of anti-roll bars available for both front and back.

Resulting in a car with technical advances that are simple to use with the best combination of performance and reliability.

The month is coming to an end. I’ve done most of my writing over the holiday break.

It has not gone as I planned it to. I haven’t gone to any write-ins and I’m not planning on attending the TGIO party. I was sick when the kickoff parties were planned and going on, and the combination of the theatre performances going on at school with the obvious novel I’m writing, prevented me from having much of an online life, both on this blog, and on the NaNoWriMo forums.

So, as I finish the last few words of my novel, pack up this month and head in to December, I just want to say: I can’t wait for next year!

Have you ever wondered what types of foundation to use to achieve that “baby soft, smooth” fin

Have you ever wondered what types of foundation to use to achieve that “baby soft, smooth” finish? As always, the first step in accomplishing this look would be to seek professional skin care routinely, and to keep in mind that professional skin care can be affordable. Besides general skin care, other factors are the tools that you use (i.e. brush, sponges). Knowing what types of foundation is best for your skin type, and the finish you are seeking i.e. matte, natural matte, satin, or dewy. Let’s begin discussing foundations for skin types:

Oily skin: For oily skin, the foundation most recommended is a water-based foundation (meaning water is the main ingredient). This skin type should stay away from oil-based foundation. When researching products be aware that some products that are labeled oil-free simply means free of mineral oil, but may contain some content of oil that binds the properties. (We will discuss ingredients in greater detail in the future). Another recommendation for oily acne prone skin is to use a silicone based primer before application. Silicone helps the foundation to go on smoothly. All skin types can use a silicone base primer. Water-based creams or alcohol-based liquids can be used under the foundation. If medicated gels are applied they need to be allowed to dry before the foundation is used. Liquids, powders, and aerosol foundations are suited for this skin type. For skin with many comedones (blackheads), sheer foundations are best.
Dry skin: Oil-based products are recommended for dry skin. Oil-based and some water based foundations with a moderate degree of oil will give you the best chance of retaining moisture in your skin. The oil will give a semi-matte finish, and will be easier to apply. Cream sticks are suited for this skin type.
Sensitive: Sensitive skin types should use lightweight foundations that are hypoallergenic and non-comedegenic.
Combination: If you have combination skin (like dry skin with oily T-zone) then you need a makeup that has moisturizers in it but is also oil-free and provides shine control for your oily spots. There are many makeup choices for combination skin. This skin type should concentrate on picking products that best suit whichever problem is worse — oiliness or dryness.
Scarred skin: Cake foundations are recommended, as well as a silicon base.
Mature skin: Mature skin with concerns of fine lines & wrinkles should use a firming foundation. Mature skin, as well as dry skin, should refrain from using mineral-based foundations due to their settling into the lines and causing the finish to look blotchy.

Tips: # 1 It is very important to know your skin’s undertone coloring. Are you warm, cool, or neutral? Warm tones are yellow, orange, or red orange. Cool tones are blue, blue green (olive), or blue red (pink). Neutral tones have equal amounts of warm & cool colorings. Some professionals also view the undertones in ranges such as: very light, porcelain or white, ivory, cream, pink florid, sallow, olive, tan, brown and ebony. Foundations should be matched to your natural skin under tone and should appear as if you have nothing on. Keep in mind that the purpose of a foundation is to even out the skin tone, minimize imperfections, and give the skin a smooth, healthy glow. During the course of a year, it is recommended that you use one of two foundations. One shade for summer and another for winter. Skin tones tend to lighten during the winter months and become darker during the summer months.
#2 Before applying foundation be sure to always apply a moisturizer first, then your primer. A primer is not to replace your moisturizer. The reason behind the moisturizer is that if your skin is thirsty for moisture when applying foundation the skin will absorb the foundation thinking it is hydrating; leaving an uneven coverage. For women who want coverage that is the same consistency as a tinted moisturizer, but delivers more coverage, a great way to achieve this is to add a little of your liquid foundation along with your daily moisturizer.
#3 SPF- Sunscreen is important and can’t be stressed enough. The number one cause of aging and damage to the skin is sun exposure! Sun protection is the most important skin care product you can use everyday. The first and most important defense against wrinkles is the daily use of sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher. It can be in your foundation or moisturizer and it will help to prevent new wrinkles from developing and existing ones from getting deeper.
#4 When applying foundation be sure to apply foundation a little below the jawline. Also, if taking photos be sure to touch up the ears.

We have had quite a few requests to provide décor ideas to hide unsightly air conditioning units in gardens. Badec Bros Deco specializes in feature walls, such as gabion feature walls. These designer walls are ideal to hide air conditioning units, unsightly views, or ugly old walls, without having to remove the existing wall.

We manufacture our gabion walls from 30mm x 3mm angle iron, which is welded together to ensure a strong frame. Then we weld strong, steel mesh onto the frame to create the shape of the wall. Once the hollow wall structure has been manufactured, we install it on site and fill it with pebbles, slate stone or chunky quartzite gravel.

Alternatively, we can also construct mild steel feature walls and add intricate detail to the surface of the steel to decorate it. There are three finishes to choose from. We can powder coat the feature wall in any colour imaginable, or we can apply mild steel finish or a rusted finish. Our powder coating is SABS approved.

Badec Bros Deco can also manufacture mild steel screens. These screens can be used to create privacy or to hang Cubedec hanging pots or hanging sculptures onto. We can customize our mild steel screens to any size and shape and with a wide range of finishes, such as powder coating in any colour, mild steel finish or a rust effect or even wooden cladding.

Should you wish to have your very own signature Cubedec feature wall, steel dustbin, interactive sculpture, Cubedec shelving, Cubedec miniature Zen garden box, 2010 Soccer World Cup décor, mild steel lamp shade, mild steel screen, Cubedec laser-cut logo, gabion counter, narration stand, gabion light cage, gabion bollard, gabion water feature, sculptured living wall, sculptured flagpoles, unique pot and drip tray, customized sculpture, Cubedec bench, trendy steel décor with your company logo emblazoned on it, mild steel inspirational slogan, steel laser-cut signage, mild steel mould, Cubedec Pot, hanging sculpture, gabion pot, gabion wall or gabion terrace, wooden or steel feature poles, bar code trellis, Cubedec water feature, pergola, arch, sculpture or trellis, please feel free to contact our energetic and knowledgeable sales representative, Mareleen van Zijl, on her cell phone at 078 800 5112, the office number at 012 460 7990, or via e-mail at mareleen@badecbros.com

Since last time I’ve entered Ludum Dare and actually finished at 75ths place and a bronze in community – yay me.

Since then I’ve integrated the half/16-bit float from the glorious OpenEXR-project into my game-library pwn.

I’ve also been thinking about creating a 2d level editor as editing text-files suck, and there doesn’t seem to be a good level-editor. Most of the 2d level editors are focused on tile-based editing, but I want a more free-flow sprite-based editor, like the aquaria editor(nicely captured by wolfire design tour) or the boingo editor that is briefly visible in their sga trailer. Preferably I like the editor to be integrate-able with box2d (so that it generates the collision geometry).

Badec Bros Deco has manufactured a wide range of impressive Cubedec pots over the past 2 years. We recently combined our stylish Cubedec A pots with mild steel Cubedec pedestals, to decorate the garden of a client.

Our Cubedec A pots and Cubedec pedestals are manufactured from 1,6mm mild steel sheets, which we fold and weld. All our pots are manufactured with a round inner steel bar to support plastic planters, which come standard with all our pots, unless otherwise specified.

Once the chosen finish has been applied, we seal the pot to protect it from rusting. We can customize these stylish planters to any size and shape and finish them off in a wide range of materials. We can also manufacture these pots and pedestals from grade 304 stainless steel. Other decorative options include mosaic cladding, wooden cladding and even laser-cut signage or designs in the steel.

This thing is great!!!! we just pour a little bit of milk into a glass and move it in a circular and upward motion, and wow! does it ever make a lot of foam. (I would like to state something I learned though: Cows milk and soy milk make wonderful foam… Rice milk does not foam at all; I tried.) My husband and I have really been impressing guests with the presentation of our coffee since we got this! I don’t think i’ll ever be wasting the money on the coffee house again!

Aerolatte Milk Frother, Satin Finish Overview

The simple way to make frothed milk for that perfect fresh CAPPUCCINO, MILKSHAKE OR HOT CHOCOLATE, every time… The Original steam free milk frother. Includes 2 x AA alkaline batteries

Aerolatte Milk Frother, Satin Finish Specifications

This cute handheld milk frother is fun and easy to use; British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson recommends it over steam-driven frothers. Plus, in addition to its most popular use–creating delicate foam for homemade cappuccinos, lattes, or hot chocolates– the Aerolatte milk frother can be used for other, equally yummy treats. An enclosed recipe sheet offers ideas for fruit “shakes” and coffee frappes that can be made with any kind of cow, goat, sheep, soy or rice milk! Some restaurant chefs even froth milk to foam garnish earthy soups.

The frother is easy to use, with a simple black toggle button to turn it on. Hold the stainless steel head just below foam level to keep froth building. The shape of the steel-toned, satin-finished handle is curved in the right places and flattened on the sides for a comfortable grip. When it’s time to replace the batteries, a black ridged cover slides off to reveal the battery chamber. (It’s important to use alkaline batteries with the Aerolatte milk frother.)

To clean, turn the frother on and dip the whisk in hot soapy water; rinse well, and turn again briefly to spin dry. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth; do not immerse handle in water. The whisk is not removable from the battery handle. The milk frother measures 8-1/2 by 1-1/2 inches. Two AA alkaline batteries are included, as well as a recipe and instruction sheet. Aerolatte guarantees the Original Steam-Free frother for five years. –Garland Withers
Fast & Foamy – Joan –
What a great little gadget for so little money. It reallly does the trick. Easy to work with, takes up little space and the results are just what you want.
It’s the BEST – Dan Gerdom – Bluffton, In
I use this product in my concession business to make hot chocolate drinks. It is the fastest way that I have found to make the drinks and its saves me a lot of time from stiring with a spoon. If I can save time, then I am making more money by selling more drinks. I have tried other products but they do not preform as well as this brand and style. I would recommend this product to anyone.
