Well, apparently those in Ottawa have put Mattamy Homes in the basement with the bottom feeders and in Halton, the place of the Mattamy cult, it has slipped to a disgraceful 2nd place. All according to Mattamy cult leader, JD Power.   Hard to stay on top when you’re screwing the homeowner I guess.

What I find interesting is when you talk to former executives and workers of Mattamy Homes.  Now, some will say that all you will get is crap from disgruntled and non-professional has-beens in the trade or those who can’t put together two pieces of wood to make a cross.  Well, I am sure some of the ex-Mattamy employees weren’t up to snuff but I can tell you, there are a lot more who are and continue in the trade with some respect.

I talked to one home inspector and I can tell you, I’m glad he left Mattamy Homes and took on a honourable profession.  His work ethic wouldn’t allow him to do what Mattamy asked.

A visit to the forums will also show what some people feel about the Mattamy work ethic.  Remember my Bully Boy blog… yes, it is in character.

Yes, may not be true but what about this followup by someone else.  It sort of backs up the leaking basement problems, just like mine.

just saw the title and here’s my 2 cents worth, we deal with them directly for foundations, walls, and g-floors. their floor finishers are SHIT. and their formwork is not that good either. lots off walls had to be redone due to improper vibrating, curing etc.

Ask contractors, your lawyer and inspectors. More knowledgable people than some tard that thinks wood can’t warp

A pesar de competir con una lesión, y sufrir una caída durante una sesión de entrenamientos, Iñaki Castañeda es ya el primer “Finisher” vasco en silla de ruedas de una prueba oficial de un Ironman, tras concluir su gesta en la localidad austriaca de Klagenfurt, a 50 kilómetros de Viena.

El domingo 5 de julio esta localidad austriaca se vistió de gala para acoger el triatlon que congregó a cerca de 2.700 deportistas de todo el mundo, entre ellas seis con algún tipo de discapacidad, como el vasco Iñaki Castañeda, que logró terminar la prueba en un meritorio tiempo de 11 horas 07 minutos y 14 segundos.

El representante español se ratifica así en la élite del deporte con discapacidad tras concluir una competición en la que tuvo que nadar 3 km y 800 metros, recorrer 150 km en una Hand-Bike, o bicicleta con desarrollo en la que se pedalea con las manos, y completar finalmente una carrera pedestre de 42 kilómetros en una silla de atletismo.

Además, la hazaña conseguida por Castañeda tiene especial relevancia por distintos motivos. La primera y más importante, es que el atleta vasco tiene 57 años, una edad que no le ha impedido rebajar en 2 horas el tiempo medio estimado en el que normalmente se finalizan este tipo de competiciones. Además, ha superado el crono del sevillano Rafael Ordoñez, el primer “finisher” español con discapacidad.

Así, una vez más, Castañeda se ha convertido en un ejemplo para el deporte en general, y para el deporte adaptado en particular, corroborando el slogan de la Agrupación Deportiva Fekoor, a la que pertenece el atleta vasco: “!Apoyando el deporte, para que tú pongas los límites¡”.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…

What does it mean to look unto Jesus? Well, we can think of it like this: If you are drowning and somebody walks past you, you do not look at him. You look unto him. When you look unto him, you are turning to him and expecting him to rescue you.

In the same manner, you look unto Jesus expecting Him to save, heal and protect you because you know His mighty power and sacrificial love for you. God’s Word says that we are to keep “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”. That is how God wants us to live.

So if you have a recurring migraine, keep looking unto Jesus. See Him taking that migraine upon His body on the cross and say, “Lord, I thank You that by Your stripes I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) As you keep looking unto Jesus, your healer, that migraine will have to bow to His finished work!

If you have a financial lack in your life, just keep looking unto Jesus with confident expectation that He will provide for you and deliver you from your lack.

“But Pastor Prince, is it really so simple? All I have to do is look unto Jesus and He will bless me financially?”

Yes, it is that simple. The problem with us is that we tend to look unto ourselves. But we cannot save or deliver ourselves. Even the apostle Paul struggled when he depended on his self-effort. That is why he said, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” (Romans 7:19) It was only when Paul looked away from himself and unto Jesus that he received his deliverance. (Romans 7:24–25)

My friend, if you have been looking unto yourself, it is time to start looking unto Jesus. Look unto Him, the author and finisher of your faith. And soon, you will be looking at your healing and prosperity!

After learning of SoFoBoMo (The Solo Photo Book Month) from Neil Creek’s post, I believed I was capable of meeting the terms of the challenge. All I had to do was select a suitable theme.

The constraints were quite simple. All photography, editing, graphic design, copy writing and layout for the book had to be done during a fuzzy one month period bewteen May 1 and June 30. The goal was to produce a nicely formatted PDF, containing a minimum of 35 photographs, to be made available for public download at sofobomo.org.

Acoustics Laboratory is the title of my submission for SoFoBoMo ‘09, which can be downloaded by following this link.

My intent was to explore what defines a such mentioned laboratory – tools, computer displays, signage, experimental rigs, obsolete electronic devices not trashed due to supposed sentimental value, etc. With only overhead fluorescent tubes for lighting I kept the shots purposely simple using a 50 mm prime lens set to f/1.4. This resulted in the sometimes mysterious objects exhibiting a sense of isolation and abandonment. I trust you will keep this in mind should you decide to view my book.

And why not compile something yourself? There will always be time left until June 30.

Ayer se celebró el triatlón Ciudad de Mataro que supuso mi debut en los triatlones !!!!

La prueba de natación sin problemas, a un ritmo lento pero seguro saliendo del agua en una posición decente (en la cola del pelotón ) y haciendo una transición sin problemas.

En la bici, que de por sí ya es mi gran handicap, se me complicó y pagué la novatada… eran 2 vueltas a un circuito que ni había mirado y tuve la mala suerte de estar en mitad de un pelotón que me adelantaba (ellos iban por la segunda vuelta y yo por la primera). El pelotón tomó la curva de entrada a meta y yo me fuí detrás suyo hasta que me di cuenta del error cuando estaba a punto de entrar en la transición !!!

En este momento le dije al juez que me había equivocado y que me quedaba una vuelta… su cara todo un poema… no me imagino com debía ser la mía )) La única solución posible era bajar con la bici por unas escaleras, cruzar la carretera y volver a seguir por el otro lado y eso fue lo que hice… en fin, un retraso de más de 5 minutos y la cabeza diciendo ¡¡¡ IDIOTA !!!

Evidentemente un parcial de pena en la bici, y con pocas ganas en la carrera a pié porque me veía corriendo solo !!! Una vez vi que todavía habían otros corriendo, me animé y me salió una carrera a un parcial de 24 min que para mi está muy bien

En fin, mi primer debut un poco accidentado, pero acabé y lo mejor es que en la natación y en la carrera a pié tuve muy buenas sensaciones. Está claro que tengo que apretar en la bici.
