Happy birthday to you, happy birthday day to you, happy birthday to Firefoxxxxx. Happyy birthday to you!! Okay, your fifth birthday was actually on Monday; I’m late. Sorry. As a belated gift, I will continue to use you for the foreseeable future as my primary web browser. That is until something better comes out – Google’s Chrome is supposed to come out before Christmas on the Mac.

Can’t believe Firefox is five. Here is my journey. In early 2006 I only knew of Internet Explorer as the main web browser. In Spring 2006, I jumped onto Firefox on the recommendation from a close friend. He was using the fox and was zipping about the web, adding extensions and opening windows in TABS. Firefox was the only browser on the block to have tabbed browsing at the time. It changed the way I browsed. I never looked back. IE was archaic compared to FF.  At the end of August 2007, I bought a MacBook. With OS X 10.4 came Safari. Safa-what? I need my FF was what I thought. FF was slow as hell on my MB. It hoggged RAM like no other, spiked the CPU, heated up the computer…it was nightmare. I eloped with Safari. When Firefox 3.0 was set to go down on June 30, 2008, featuring major RAM reductions and faster page rendering, I joined the millions of people worldwide in downloading it on day one to help set the world record. Indeed, it was much improved. I abandoned Safari and switched back to the fox. I’ve been using FF 3.5 as my main browser ever since.

Whew. That was a mouthful wasn’t it? Even with Safari’s 4.0 being snappy, I can’t live without the plug-ins/extensions that can be installed for FF. Take one plug-in called “Ad-Block Plus.” It blocks advertisements on all web pages. I installed it earlier this year and I haven’t seen an advertisement on the web ever since. No wonder I’ve been so much more productive this past year!

Firefox is an open-source web browser. Because the code is not locked in a closet somewhere sealed beneath 10 layers bullet proof glass, anyone who wants to modify it to their liking can do so. Customization is key for a useful FF experience. No two installations of FF will be the same if each one is customized to the individual.

Here’s to many more years of Firefox! As a bonus, let’s see if the majority of people even know what a browser is.

Google’s Chrome will bring some competition to the web browser arena. It is already my web browser of choice on a Windows machine. The beauty of Chrome lies in the small application size, stripped down interface and FAST FAST page rendering like no other. Chrome is already for Windows and is expected to be released before Christmas on the Mac. Can’t wait!

I have now had Windows 7 Professional running for about 24 hours.

So far I have only experienced one major problem.

System Mechanic 9 hangs with Windows 7

Iolo Techologies’ System Mechanic 9.0.5 has hung three times. That is a bit disturbing.

I have used System Mechanic for at least 7 years, starting with ver. 6.x. I have it on two other PCs and use it at least four times a week. So it isn’t like I don’t know how to use it.

We reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 yesterday afternoon. Downloaded System Mechanic again. It automatically detected, without any prompting, that I had entered a valid license key for it … from that machine, under Windows. So it just activated me for 5 months — which is how long the license was.

FireFox 3.5 hung ONCE. That was upsetting too.

That is about it.

Windows 7 seems fast. But, it is running on a fast machine. I haven’t seen CPU or memory usage go above 15% yet.

Networking with XP machines

Network detection could be MORE user friendly. It works, but mysteriously.

It automatically detected my XP machines. Yes, totally on its own. Second time around I didn’t even create a Home Network. But, it takes time and is intermittent.

But, I created shortcuts, per a right-click option, to three of the XP systems. Now, I can get to them, irrespective of network detection status by clicking on the shortcut. Kind of forcing a network connection. If you get Win 7, and need to network with XP, you really must do that.

Other isuues

I have two drives on this machine — as I have on most of my others. Two separate drives. C: & D:. W in 7 wasn’t real happy with that to begin with. But, that could have been how we set up the BIOS etc. So we did a quick reformat of both drives and reinstalled Win on drive C:.

So far so good. I am not using Win 7 on a regular basis yet. I will test it for at least a month, alongside my production XP system, before I will switch over. THAT IS ME.

Yeah, yeah I’ve known for a while that IE and Outlook Express are about the worst programs to use for surfing the web and reading e-mail. I have resisted using anything else, because I haven’t found anything that worked as easy. My spouse is somewhat ‘technologically challenged’ and I need a browser that is easy for her to use and work with. A good friend of mine pointed out that the newest version of FireFox is very IE like, so I downloaded it and am putting it through my own trials before I put it on the other-half’s computer. Figured I would also try-out Thunderbird, Mozilla’s email/newsgroup program. Like it too, plus I checked, these 2 programs use less than a third of the computer resources as Microsoft’s programs. I’m not going to completely get rid of IE and OE, but I don’t think I will be using them like I was and will be using Mozilla’s programs. I can already hear several friends saying “B.F.T.” Once I figure out just what tweeks and adjustments need to be made, I can get it installed on our other computers.

It has to be said that the only reason Microsofts web browser Internet Explorer is “popular” is because it’s put on nearly every machine when purchased with a windows operating system. A lot of people may only know Internet Explorer as the only window to the web and if you are one of them people you should google the web browsers below and download them. They are all free and in my personal opinion the other browsers provide a much better web experience and offer a lot more than IE.

I think that Fire Fox 3 provides the best web experience than any other browser but I also like the simplicity of Google Chrome.  It’s a good looking browser and easy to use.

The tabs that are available in google chrome are entirely different from others ,the tabs are present on the upper part of the window and you will feel different when you are using chrome for the first time.

The browser has an option of auto completion and before you type in your search word lot of search items will be listed below so that you can narrow down your search.The home page that is present in chrome is similarly related towards opera and a list of 9 thumb nails with most related search results will be displayed and also your recently bookmarked pages, as well as recently closed tabs will be displayed.

To fight malware attempts, Chrome constantly downloads lists of harmful sites. Google also promises that whatever runs in a tab is sandboxed so that it won’t affect your machine and can be safely closed. And Chrome also has an idea to add a task manager that gives the user an idea of how much memory and CPU use a page is consuming, and by allowing you to close anything that is causing a slow browse problem. But you should configure this tool on your own.

So google has produced an awesome user friendly browser and which is a powerful tool to help the needs of advanced users.There were talks that google will be releasing it’s operating system and this web browser release by google shows out one thing clearly the google chrome browser is specially made for google operating system.

2. คลิกขวาตรงไหนก็ได้ แล้วเลือกเพิ่มข้อมูลแบบ Boolean
3. ใส่เข้าไปว่า config.trim_on_minimize แล้ว ok
4. มันจะขึ้นมาให้เลือกอีกขั้น เลือก true ซะ
5. ปิด FireFox แล้วเปิดใหม่

Spookaboo has been posting a lot of animal paint TF images, but this is the first that actually made me go “wow.” His work is reminiscent of Nickwolf, but with a style all his own.
