Thoughts of the Day:

Today was a test of faith, had to chaperon my students on a field trip to the very place where I was terminated last Tuesday. A lot of my former colleagues weren’t aware of me being fired. It became awkward and uncomfortable explaining this in front of my students. I realized I’ve matured a lot did not give my former managers the luxury of seeing me become the angry black man. To GOD I owe all the honor and glory.

Some thoughts I would love to share:

Today I can say stress has gotten the best of me, wanting to do things but not being able to because of financial commitments (student loans). Being on a budget sucks, not along getting laid off from one of my jobs. I look at it has a minor set-back nothing major. I’m not struggling at all just have to save a little more and stay within my means. I am not complaining because I know what GOD has in store for me something bigger and better. I am more than a conquer..

Thoughts I would love to share:

Today was an interesting day I felt god working with me. Time after
time he led me to things that pertained to what I was doing either a
song on YouTube or something help to get me through work. He led me
to conversing with my cousin who introduced me to his churches sermons
which really spoke to my heart and what I was going through.

I now work 2 part-time jobs and substitute teach its stressful
to me because I yearn to have one solid paying full-time job where I
can make a difference in the work I do. I can’t complain I make decent
money. I apply to jobs regularly, I’ve had many interviews but I
never can close the deal. I use to let this get me down but I always
hear my mom in the background saying “be prayerful”.

I’m not in the slump like before, I’m positive and know something is
coming my way, just have to continue to be persistent and be grateful
for what I already have.

Proverbs 24:16

One of my thoughts I would love to share-

My greatest fear is being a failure, it’s a gift and a curse. For me failure makes me over think and not want to take the risk on things that I know I am more capable of doing. Today I encountered a challenged with one my professional weaknesses. Nobodies knows I get nervous when speaking in front of others but I do. I did not want to take this risk but I did, really had no choice. Yes I was nervous and somewhat sweating but I’m a firm believer of saying a prayer before doing a difficult task.

I posted some questions in a previous blog and thought to myself- well, I honesty wonder, what would I answer with. My readers are probably curious as well- I know I would be. I have decided to pick some questions that caught my eye to answer to the best of my ability as I am the person I am today. Could these answers change? Of course but for now- this is how they make me think…. Enjoy my lovely readers!

Which is worse, failing or never trying? It can be hard to fail at a task in life, no matter what the task may be. But is it really worth regretting not trying and always wondering “what if?” I’m not one to wonder “what if?”. I’m willing to try and sometimes try over and over again because I’m scared of later saying to myself “what if?”

When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? I try to do what I say I am going to do. I can’t stand it when people never follow through with what they say they are going to do. So if I say I will do something, I just do it. Even if I don’t want to at the time. It’s called commitment. And that’s not something I’m scared of.

Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? Can I be honest here? I don’t know what I believe in right now, I know I wish things were different in many aspects of my life but I am settling for how things have turned out FOR NOW! I have no choice. One day, I will be able to say I am doing everything I believe in, one day.

If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I wouldn’t worry about the little things so much. I would move on from things that bother me and step into the light of happiness faster after heartache. I would change a lot honestly. To think a about that and knowing I’m 26 years old, I couldn’t imagine being more than half way done with my life- that would be such a disappointment.

To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? I don’t know that anyone controls the course of their life. Maybe they do, I don’t know. I don’t feel like I do. I mean, I have controlled who I have and don’t have in my life (in some aspects), I have controlled what I want my career to be, but I haven’t controlled my emotions, things people have done to me, and the people I have lost- those things are just uncontrollable.

Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? I am all about doing the right things, not doing things right.

You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? I would probably get up and walk away or explain to them that I am a friend of that person and I find it disrespectful for that kind of talk around me.

If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Three words of advice– “Let It Go”

How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? People don’t realize the way certain things or people make me feel. They only see the outside view. It’s hard to understand how things make me happy if someone else is just “looking in through a window and not from inside the home”.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? Travel to Italy, the lack of funds!

Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Yes, but I think everyone is.

Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? Yes I do. And no, I just want to make sure it’s coming! haha

Why are you, you? Because of my past experiences, my family and friends, and my self-determination.

Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? No, but I’m working on changing that.

Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch with a friend that lives near me. It’s different when they are forced to move away.. it’s awful when losing touch is a choice.

Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? Many times

Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? yes, I hate it.

The dictionary defines un piling as the act of disentangling or taking from a pile. I have decided to embark upon this project to un pile my heart and home, in order to bring more clarification to my life. I have always been a firm believer that what is on the outside is a reflection of my heart. Upon examining my heart and home, I became aware of the similarities in both. I think of my heart as having several different rooms that all flow into one big area , each affecting the other in some way. In comparison to my heart when my home lies in shambles , each room flows into the other without any separation of purpose for them. In all honesty although it is somewhat embarrassing to admit my home and heart are laying in piles . I have tried to think of a better word to describe them. Each time I came back to the word piles. Although piles is an unlovely and definitely is not a brilliant sounding word , it’s the one which fits . In the past when I would attempt to find some order in my home an overwhelming feeling of despair came over me and I always gave up before I really even started. Oddly enough using word piles sums it up for me and makes it an easier and less daunting project. I’m recovering my heart and home one pile at a time!

Hello internets!

From time to time, I used to post certain searches that would appear on this website’s statistics. I thought it was light and funny, and somewhat amusing. However, I noticed a disturbing trend in the searches, which has led me to believe that some of you are coming here with very subversive intentions.

However, I am a firm believer in the idea that any hit is a good hit. Every person should have access to the things that they need. This doesn’t mean that we will be moving in this new direction all the time, but I guess we must provide something for the people who are coming to our site.

I feel it is my duty to inform you that this will probably be the only post on this matter, because I find it personally repugnant, but of course, if there is an audience I must pander to it. So, I prostrate myself before you, and present to the general searching audience what they have been looking for. Animal Reproduction and Animal Sex. Hooray.

I’m a firm believer in the concept -Work Hard / Party Hard! - I believe that in order to live your life to the fullest, just like everyone should & deserves, a person needs to work and study hard! But I also believe that a person who works and studies hard needs to Party hard. Lets face it, too much work and no play is just way too depressing. Life is way too short. Just like too much party & no work is wrong in many ways. Never lack in any & you will be forever happy! :) In all seriousness, I have been doing this for years. Graduating with honors due to my hours of studying, getting promoted due to hard-working. As well as Partying every other day.

I live in the heart of Hollywood! So I walk to all the clubs! there has been times where I have partied every day and times during finals in college and work on Christmas where I have buried myself in work. And studied 8h straight with no breaks. I have almost always maintained a balance between work, academics and Party. I believe that this mix of socializing, dancing and still paying a lot of attention to my job and academics have made me very happy and productive in my life. It’s definitely something that I can recommend.

When it comes to people who work and study too much, take at least a one or two days off every week where you don’t allow yourself to even to think about getting work done – Instead plan the day to; meet up with friends, read your favorite magazines and Blogs, hiking meditating, Partying, what ever makes you happy and relaxed. It is a fact that dedicating time each week to do things that we truly enjoy, makes it much easier for us to focus on our goals, work, academics, Family and so on.

Also if you find yourself failing classes, jobs and life due to., too much fun. Slow it down, make at least a few days a week that you raally sit down and dedicate your time to your future. Drink loads of coffee if you need. Find a way to become concentrated. (Google.)

“We all need a balance in our lives. He is a firm believer that fitness is what you need—it has to be practical, something you can use.

What he really meant:

“Endurance and agility—that’s what cricketers need.”

What he definitely didn’t:

“I love Kevin Pietersen’s washboard-like abs.”

One of the delights of the modern age is the act of surfing randomly round the internet, seeing what surprises there are in store. Things you’ve never thought of, but strike you as comedy genius on discovery.
Y’know, like Christian Aerobics LP covers…

…and the people who collect them.

It even happens with Christian writers sometimes, too. Every now and then I peruse Brant Hansen’s site. (The man with the greatest post-categories I’ve ever seen). Some of his stuff is great, but a lot of it bugs me, so it’s not been a regular read to date. I discovered one post yesterday however that I thought needed sharing.

In the spirit of the plagiarism that the UK’s most celebrated psychologist has engaged in, I’m going to reproduce it (almost) in full – but if you don’t like that, here’s the link to the original.

Bemoan the secularization of Christmas
Be a key member of a church that offers solid, Biblical teaching — none of that namby-pamby stuff
