The MyLiveSession Demo

Currently using old video files and images from the good old MLS days…better assets make it look a lot nicer!

In this setup i’m streaming .flv via rtmp from Flash Media Server; When i get time i’ll add some demos showing custom (psuedo stream) and progressive .flv plus a demo of the windows media overlay to handle .mpg, .mp4 and .wmv files via http all within the same UI.

I’d love to know how the preview function works for you – you can activate it by hovering your mouse over the prev/next buttons, just wait 5 seconds and the image shown will change to a video of the next stream, audio will switch as well (NOTE: some of the videos currently avaialble dont have audio for a few seconds once they start – so it’s not so obvious). When both stream are playing what is the performance on your computer like, acceptable??

Can you spot which one is the award?

Last night Landshare won the RTS Innovation Award for User-generated Content. It was one of only six such awards given out (other winners included BBC iPlayer at over 100 times the budget of littl’ ol’ Landshare).

This is the 2nd of these annual awards. Last time out it was even better – Big Art Mob won the Mobile category, an inaugural winner alongside Flash Video (yes, the whole darn technology).

This year Landshare was nominated alongside Sexperience (in the same category), so I liked them 66% odds.

What the judges said: “The judges felt that the award should go to a project that they feel reinvents the viewer/user/programme maker relationship and which is making a fundamental difference to the way key issues of the moment can be addressed. A project whose success demonstrates as one judge put it “how television can make a difference”.”

Straying away from my own oeuvre, another very worthy winner was BBC Children’s marvellous Bugbears – think Monsters Inc meets Creature Comforts, used as a way to help children address&express difficult emotional subjects. It’s the work of Marc Goodchild (who was at our table – the Table of Triumph with its unique double gong status) and my old muckers Joe Elliot and Anthony Lilley of Magic Lantern (among others). I first saw it this time last year at Sheffield DocFest when I was doing a speaking gig on interactive documentary chaired by Paula LeDieu. Japhet (whose second name slips my ravaged mind) from Marc’s team at cBBC demoed it and I was instantly charmed.

Other awards went to the amazing BBC R&D bods who have such a world class heritage in broadcasting/media innovation, pretty much second to none. An honour to be among them.

Tonight Landshare won the BIMA (British Interactive Media Award) for Community Social Media (as well as being nominated in the Special Achievement Award: Viral Spread category). It follows in the footsteps of MindGym (97) and Embarrassing Bodies (08).

Apples neuer 27″ iMac, der erst vor kurzer Zeit Premiere hatte, scheint nicht ganz einwandfrei zu funktionieren.

Im Netz findet man mittlerweile viele Videos auf den verschiedensten Seiten, doch wie um alles in der Welt kann man diese abspeichern? Für YouTube gibt es dafür einige, mehr oder weniger gute Internetseiten, doch was ist mit dem Rest? Wie speichert man all die Flash-Videos? Ganz einfach, mit dem „DownloadHelper“ Add-On. Die Installation ist schnell gemacht – einfach auf diesen Link klicken und das Add-On installieren. Danach den Browser neu starten.

Um Online-Videos zu speichern, spielt man ein beliebiges Video ab. Daraufhin wird das Icon des DownloadHelpers farbig. Da leider das Angebot der Öffentlich Rechtlichen Sender (ZDF & Co.) in den Mediatheken nicht ohne weiteres gedownloadet werden kann, hier eine Anleitung. Abschließend bleibt noch zu bemängeln, dass es den Menschen so schwer gemacht wird, Online-Videos abzuspeichern. Eine Vorreiter-Rolle, die zeigt, wie man es richtig macht, ist das Ogg-Format. Videos dieses Formates lassen sich ganz einfach per Rechtsklick abspeichern. Wer jetzt anmerkt, dass die Videoqualität von Ogg-Videos nicht mit der des H.264-Codecs mithalten kann, der sollte sich einmal dieses Video ansehen (runterladen – Vollbild, ihr werdet staunen).

Mit den Programmen VLC-media player (Medien -> Konvertieren/Speichern) und SUPER lassen sich ganz einfach Videos in ein anderes Videoformat umwandeln (z.B. avi in MPEG). Allerdings ist zu beachten, dass dabei immer die Videoqualität abnimmt. Mir hat SUPER in der Vergangenheit schon gute Dienste erwiesen, indem ich des öfteren YouTube-Videos für mein Handy konvertierte (man kann verschiedene Hersteller und Bildschirmauflösungen wählen).

Yesterday my ass had been under serious pressure. While putting on shows my webcam I received an interesting offer from some maverick that I’ve chatted with on webcams.com some time ago. He told me that an extraordinary redhead party was being held that night and that he is ready to pay me just to accompany him over there. I agreed cause it seemed like it would be a blast. The redhead exclusivity rule was obeyed but it appears that no other girl had been invited. Imagine fourteen hot fuckers crowding their way towards my wet way… I sucked dick for hours and got all my holes filled with cumm as if I were a sperm bank. Have you ever had experience your hopefully expectation to watch video failed? whereas you already waited for so long while download it! (Furthermore, if you used the provider with the sucking internet connection, like mine, Grrr.. ) I think you have.. and how was your feeling? or What have you done??  dont tell me that you deleted it..

At first while i got this problem, i thought that it might be broken file, like some parts of it corrupted. Then i downloaded it again from youtube, but (again!) it didn’t work. The damn message always came out as i pressed play button, like this,

I just let this problem go for long enough.
Yesterday, this annoying problem came out again. And that time, it got my curiosity make me to give permission to emerge. I started checking out the error of the message. Hmm.. yup,  i didn’t understand at all :p . As usual, asking grandpa google  would be able to overcome it. In a flash, a list of sites appeared on my screen. Hmm, apparantly lots of people got the problem as well, so i was not alone. I read their conversation about the problem, and many types of  messages error were. There were quite lots of solutions in fact. I’ve tried to configure Media Player Classic like they said but failed, tried again.. failed again. Hmm.. ow, there was a simple solution i read! What was that? Just download a typical player for those damn videos..  Huuf, okey i donwload it. And.. yuhhuu, it worked.. !! Why didn’t i think that i should find the right player at the beginning?! I did.. but i just wanna make my curiosity leaving in peace
