Smile lightnings, faces around me appeared bright and radiant smile flicker when I saw their faces. Happily anticipated push home kids seated before the computer. Sisters in home standing watched with eager what the kids will be learning today.

Nature is God’s design; nothing here is aligned, but everything looks beautiful, it’s made generous and given freely. The sense we have to feel that mixed beauty of nature, to love the scattered irregular beauties of scenery is wonderful. Graphic design is strict, have rules and order. Playing with the photos of nature I don’t put any rules for kids. The kids mixed photos of nature and made God’s designs graphically.

Yesterday I took with me some photos of beautiful scenery’s. The class is about creating new scenery’s. The kids took mountain from a photo, lake from another, a garden from some other photo to create new beautiful scenery’s.

I let them to play ‘City surfer’ game for one batch students as they were asking me often. They enjoyed playing that game – to twist their brain, to think, to take decision, I think that game will really shape their brain with brilliance. Students who learned mixing scenery’s in this class will play that computer game in next class and those who played computer game will do photo mixing on next class.

In happy mood one can learn fast. My ways of teaching includes concentrating on every small things and also creating a feel that they are the boss to themselves. No commands, no request; just by helping them to get things done.

The issues facing the American people are myriad.

My little friends here made for a delightful treat.

As you can see they went well with a few scoops of ice cream. Friday was the day off and well spent.

Yesterday my Kind Friend did another rescue!  But not like me.  Not a Bichon Poodle.  Not a mix I don’t think.  Not a stray.  It’s a bird.  A rescue bird.  I didn’t know there could be a rescue bird.  A Cedar Waxwing.  She rescued him in Sacramento.  Downtown Sacramento.  Just like she rescued me.  Except I was  at the Shelter.  The bird wasn’t at the shelter.  But she rescued him.  Like me.  A little bit like me.  Because I am living here.  In Elmhurst.  But the bird is not living in our house.  Because he needs medicine.  Just like I needed medicine and surgery.  I had the cryptic and the orchid surgery.  And I  had to stay at the veterinarians for some days.  I was  very scared in that cage.  So I broke up the cage they put me in.  I just chewed and scratched it all up because I was trying to escape from there. 

But the  Cedar Waxwing my Kind Friend rescued.  He was just flying with his friends in downtown Sacramento.   And he flew into a big glass.  It is on a building.  The glass is on the front of this building underneath here.  It’s all glass.  I’ve been to this building.  And it is very high up.  And on the front is all glass.

And it makes birds get all muddled up.  Because they don’t know it’s glass.  They think there is trees there for them.  And they think they can fly that way because it looks like trees.  But then they fly into the big glass.  And they get hurt.  And its a high up building.  So then they fall down.  The birds.  They fall down a long way to the ground.  And usually they die, my Kind Friend said.  But if they don’t die.  Then they always get injured and hurt.  And then they need medicine.  And sometimes surgery too.  But not the surgery I had.  It’s a different surgery.

The bird was flying with a lot of other Cedar Waxwings.  That’s what they do.  They all fly together the same way.  It’s called  a flock.  And they follow the birds in front.  So a big lot of those Cedar Waxwings flew into the glass building.  And they all died except this bird here.  All of them.    

He is very little too.  He is much smaller than me.  He is even smaller than a Flicker or a Jay.  Or even a really grown-up Cedar Waxwing.  You can see him here.

My Kind Friend took him to Sacramento Wildlife Care.  They know how to take care of him.   And help him get better.  They even have special medicine for the swelling on the brain.  That’s because the head gets hit.  And it makes the swelling.  I don’t exactly know what that means.  But my Kind Friend said the brain swelling is bad.  And the medicine is good for the bird.  And they have it at Sacramento Wildlife Care.  But we don’t have it at our house.  So that’s where he is.  At Sacramento Wildlife Care.

And one time when we went to Davis.  We were at a place by a building.  And I saw another Bichon Poodle who looked just like me.  Another Samuel.  Right inside that building.  And I wanted to bark at that dog and play.  So I ran up to touch that dog.  And I banged into something hard.  Like the Cedar Waxwing.  I did the same thing.  Because that was glass.  There was no other dog in there.  It was just me, Sammy.  It’s called a reflection.  The thing that you see inside the glass.  Like what killed the Cedar Waxwings yesterday. 

They saw reflections. They thought it was trees for flying into.  But it was glass.  They should take away that glass that kills birds.

My Kind Friend said he is going to get better.   But if he can’t go and be free with the other birds again.  Then he can stay with the rescue people.  Like I live with my Best Friend and my Kind Friend who rescued me.

I am glad my Kind Friend helped that Cedar Waxwing.  Just like she helped me.

And.  If you need to help wild birds or rescue them.  It could be a different bird.  A Jay or a Finch or a Sparrow or other birds.  And it could be other wild animals too.  Like a squirrel or a rabbit or lots of other animals.  You should go to the people at Sacramento Wildlife Rescue.  Because they will help the bird or the animal get well.

Marissa Mayer, Google’s VP of Search, just made an announcement at the Web 2.0 Expo.  Google Labs will have a new feature called Social Search.  What is known so far is that when one does a Google Search, the search results will include social networking information from your friends- status updates, photos, etc.  The search results will come from the social media networks listed on your Google Profile.  There will be an improved search for images from social media, putting more of an emphasis on this in the future. 

In order for Social Search to work, users much have a Google Account, a Google Profile, and friends listed as Google Contacts.

Mayer also confirmed an announcement made earlier in the afternoon that Google had reached a deal with Twitter to include tweets in its search index as a way to improve access to real-time information.

That’s some trouble in dating for Drew Barrymore.  And I can connect with her though for me it’s of a different kind.

I have this blog where I’d like my photographs to be shown as a slideshow, but my blog unfortunately takes only Flicker photos. But I have my photos uploaded in Aminus3, so that took some manipulation to this wordpress account to show the photographs from Aminus3. But then, for my friends to see those photos, I would have to upload them in Orkut. And there are some photographs that I don’t want to upload but want to share only with a few. So it’s Picasa now. Upload the same photographs or add more, this time for a select group of people. Some of ‘em are unfortunately only on Facebook and would love to see the photos uploaded on Facebook.  There I’ve to go again to Facebook.  I do have a Twitter account as well, but thankfully in Twitter it’s just updating  messages and no  photographs!

And in the end, I see that I try to be super active on Facebook, Flicker, Orkut, LinkedIn, Twitter and Aminus3 and every other social networking/photo site that’s out there. (I had a MySpace account that I think I just deleted) that I wonder if I should just quit this social networking altogether.

I had this thought and the next moment, I was trying to find out if someone would send me an invite for Google Wave! The addiction that’s Social Networking! Phew!

I shoot a lot of stuff in windowless rooms of swish hotels, pressed into the service of Presentation Theatres. It’s a living. But just last week, whilst shooting in a very new venue next to St Pauls Cathedral, London, I was confused with a problem.

The lighting in some rooms appeared to strobe or flicker. In a subtle manner, not the big horrible flicker of bad Fluorescent or Sodium Vapour lighting. It was so subtle that I reckon many mortals would not have noticed it. I’ve tried to capture it even though the compression process has lessened its effect:

Well, at least you can see it in the viewfinder, rather than when viewing rushes back at home AFTER you can do anything about it. And if you can’t see the ripple effect in the initial shots, don’t worry. It’s just the Vimeo/YouTube compression. It IS very visible on the raw footage.

You’re not seeing things, it is there.

So in these situations, it seems that you can’t stop it, you can only lessen it. Slow the shutter down or turn it off. Experiment with the shutter – you might find a happy harmonic which lessens the effect. At least the compression process seems to minimise it.

Photos, private news channels, netscrap navigator 9, mms, myspace, e-zines all of them got in and google documents, wi-fi, datacable, annonymous sms, wifi enabled cafes, vista, flicker, online vedio streams, firefox, sms, facebook and metroblogs all got out…

En los últimos días he estado pensando mucho en algunos de los procesos audiovisuales. Casi siempre apunto que las personas ven videos todo el tiempo y la mayor parte del tiempo no se enteran de las técnicas y métodos que requieren en su realización; y esto no lo hago como una crítica, sino creo que más bien hay otros que estamos completamente obsesionados con esto. Alguna vez estuve haciendo experimentos con obturación lenta y la verdad es que los resultados son increíbles. Después de unos días de hacerlo, empecé a pensar en cómo utilizar la misma técnica pero aplicándola a video y esto se aterrizará en unos visuales que estaremos desarrollando en un futuro no lejano. Ayer mientras buscaba algunas referencias me encontré con un video de Chris Tootell, un director y animador inglés que tiene colaboraciones en grandes proyectos. Les dejo un ejemplo como referencia del resultado que podrían tener algunas semanas de reflexión acerca de técnicas y procesos audiovisuales.

Historias como las de Steve Jobs y Steve Wozniak, son todavía posibles en la actualidad. En la informática queda todavía muchísimo por inventar y la clave es encontrar una idea que cale en la comunidad o sea lo suficientemente innovadora para crear una nueva tendencia o interesar a una empresa como complemento o incluso motor de sus productos.

No hay nada más que ver, por ejemplo, el cambio de enfoque que en Internet produjo la web 2.0 y las distintas soluciones técnicas que han salido desde entonces (y que no paran de salir ya que soluciones como Twitter, Facebook, Flicker, Picasa, etc… son relativamente recientes). En el mundo 2.0 todavía no está todo explotado, la clave es seguir innovando.

La administración electrónica es otro campo donde todavía queda mucho por hacer, porque incluso aunque sea un concepto un tanto antiguo (en realidad muy desgastado por haberse hablado tanto, aunque todavía quede mucho por hacer) el grado de penetración de la misma tanto en España como en el resto del mundo deja muchísimo margen de maniobra.

La Green IT, la cloud computing e incluso la grid computing (aunque este más antiguo) son otros campos relativamente nuevos en los que la capacidad de innovación es prácticamente ilimitada, ya que pese a que hay mucha teoría sobre la mesa, el número de implementaciones realizadas en estas tecnologías todavía es muy reducido (en relación a todo lo que se habla y se escribe de ellos) y el número de implantaciones también lo es (para el mercado tan grande que existe).

En el mundo del desarrollo puro y duro de software tambień hay mucho que inventar y potenciar, como por ejemplo los generadores de código.

Estos son simplemente algunos ejemplos de conceptos o tendencias en los cuales se puede seguir innovando, pero las posibilidades son prácticamente ilimitadas.

Por tanto, todavía (y durante muchísimo años) habrá lugar para que aquellas personas creativas y con talento sigan poniendo sobre la mesa soluciones innovadoras que puedan cambiar sus vidas y hacer el mundo un poquito mejor.

The quivering silence: Between notes, urging on, anticipating the emergence

of an arising multi-phonic vibration—a rebirth,

a dance.

This dance: a coalescing semblance; a patchwork

respiration—the piecemeal resolution of eternal returning,

self-assembling, woven together with the space of silences,

born in the calm of this countryside,

breathing beneath its wildflowers in the Spring;

its dry vagrant dust in the Summer; the nudity of trees

and leaves deceased, the premonition of Winter in Autumn.

Come Winter,

a cold silence.

A fire; a single flame;

an ephemeral cinema; a single handwoven ceremony

of life burgeoning at its fringes, tearing out and backwards into itself

in an endless metamorphosis.

Now a voice, barely audible: heat on skin, whispering primally

I finally bought this dress from forever new. Figured I’ll never be satisfied buying a dress i can’t try on first.

I’ve bought shoes that i’ve forgotten to photograph and this is the ring. hanky’s ring had to be custom made even though it was just a plain white gold ring because he has potatoes attached to his hand( he likes to call them fingers).

On Friday I visited Peter Layton’s glass studio -currently situated at the leather market on Weston Street near London Bridge. There were three of the main team there.

Louis Thompson assisted by Bruce Marks working on some of Peter’s new Pieces.

Layne Rowe back after a months vacation in Brazil and Eagerly working on some of his own work. I chatted with him about his work and asked if he would mind me taking some photo’s of him at work.
