One of the things I really believed about the holidays when I was a teenager is that I would be invited to tons of holiday parties where I would have to dress up and “glitter.” (Seventeen really sold us something, didn’t they?) By the time I got in college and beyond, most of the parties were sweater and jeans affairs with boots and puffy quilted jackets. Our sweaters were thrift store finds, our jeans were ripped, and our boots were scuffed. Someone somewhere was dressing up—sure wasn’t me. I couldn’t afford it.

However, I like the idea of it. I like the thought of holiday soirees, invitations overflowing in the mail, rushing to get dressed, champagne and hors d’oeuvres (I have a rich imagination). This dress from Ivey Deschanel would be ideal for such parties. With its full and flirty blue satin skirt and sequined spaghetti strap top, it fits the bill. What really pushes it from girly dress to a more elegant look, however, is the scarf and fishnet tights Ivey includes. The tights.. they are just plain old well done with the right shading and great seams.

I dressed this beauty up with an updo from Truth Hawks. His colors and textures are amazing. (I seem to be blogging him a lot, hm? Well he always has a hair color that suits!) Drop earrings from Sofi Trenkins match this outfit—nothing too elaborate is needed with sequins. And a skin from Lorac Farella with a tonal lip. It really has to be all about the dress—no need to pile on the makeup

It’s an off day for writing but an on day for fashion. I scored some great things I want to share, but I don’t have any great theme ‘cept they are cool.

A wander down to Djinn and Tonic the other day took me into Damon Dollinger’s area (Fear & Clothing–the name alone deserves sales), where he offers some glam and fun stuff for men (and women—I took them over). I found these terrific leopard skin hip huggers with the belt and dang, I had to have them. I ripped them out of some emo boy’s hand and ran off with them.

I scurried over to Aranel Ah’s place and found this hoodie to match. She has some really cute separates that mix and match with many things but don’t look the same old, same old. For example, this hoodie has a great zippered front and ends just above the belly button for a little bare midriff.

I “dressed” it up with jewelry from Miel. I have some really nice pieces from Miel, sold at inexpensive prices. This set includes beads on loosely tied leather pieces. This is not easy work, working with tiny prims, putting on textures of this intricacy. Mika Nieuport definitely does fine work.

I bottomed out with boots from Annette Voight. With the fine sculpties and the delicious buttery soft textures, these boots are luxurious and sexy.

As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to fill out my wardrobe with party dresses and suitable

As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to fill out my wardrobe with party dresses and suitable attire. I am not one for the red/green combos or for looking like one of Santa’s elves. I prefer a more sophisticated look.

This dress from Vitabela Dubrovna fit the bill. Based on her real life designs, Vita’s dresses are beautiful, imaginative, and couture. This lovely dress will take me to several parties, both day and night, with its lovely laces and beading on the bodice and full graceful skirt.

I am wearing Random Calliope’s Wish Set with the outfit. It’s very delicate, very ethereal. The glistening and spark of the tiny prims suit the dress perfectly. His is the standard by which all tiny prim work is judged, still. Lorac Farella’s new Life skins in Warm tone are ideal to go with this, adding the elegance I always want.

Finally, we end with shoes, and these shoes are ideal. Silver with diamonds, buckled and stiletto’d, these heels make this dress pretty and perfect. Jada Humby sells a fat pack of these—I would recommend you get the entire set.

Sometimes I have to push myself to try something new, something not in my comfort zone. That used to

Sometimes I have to push myself to try something new, something not in my comfort zone. That used to be wearing a bikini in SL (yeah, really). Then it was wearing eyelashes. Then it was wearing blonde hair (the day that happened was a major breakthrough). Today it was wearing a skin with BOLD makeup.

Djinn and Tonic, a new collaboration of creators on the newly opened Prosperine sim, offers a line of skins that’s .. well.. brash. When I first wore the skins, I thought the lips were glossy, the eyes were bold, and the cheek makeup was stark. But I started wearing it around, trying on hair, clothes, etc., and I realized it was pretty darn groovy.

The best part? When you buy a pack, you get one skin tone and one eye makeup, but you also get five shades of lipstick, freckles or not, and shaved or not. Therefore, you get 20 skins for one price. I especially like the lipstick option because sometimes you just want to swap out a lipstick and not mess with the rest.

I am showing a dress from a relatively new designer—Mariusz Miliandrovic. Based on Mariusz’ other photos in his little shop, he *ahem* likes the feminine shape. The dress is sexy in the best sort of way—the top is low cut, the back is quite low cut, but the skirt is full and flirty to balance the top and includes a bow. His prim building is good and his use of color fantastic.

I show great boots from Magnifico Miggins here. I have feature Magnifico’s work before. She has come into the SL world with her footwear, and with the quality of it, she should be taking the grid by storm. These boots are a ‘fatpack’ boot, which means they have a hud that changes the colors of the boots. The textures are remarkable.. very real, very rich.

Bold and proud:

I went to the Shoe Fair, benefitting Toys for Tots, right before Thanksgiving, hoping to score some pretties for my feet.

I found quite a few beautiful shoes, but none were as unique and sculptural as those made by 2408 Alekseev. With their gracefully intertwining vines and flowers, the precarious sole and serpentine heel, these shoes are a piece of wearable art.

I have to say, I had a few problems fitting them (though they come with resize scripts and an amazing range of skin tones to match to), so I contacted the creator, 24, as she likes to be called, via notecard. She responded quickly and helpfully (and cheerfully and humorously). Turns out I have very small and delicate ankles, so she had to shrink the shoes down considerably. Go figure.

She IS featuring two pairs for one at the Shoe Fair, benefitting Toys for Tots, so you may want to purchase those so you can check out her work.

When the outfit is all about the shoes, you can’t wear something long or they will be hidden, so I chose this flirty party dress from Kuranosuke Kamachi. Going to DeLa is a hit or miss for me sometimes–Kuranosuke uses sculpties in risk-taking ways that sometimes don’t pan out. But for this dress, the work is impeccable. The skirt is a marvelous fluff of stiff satin.

I styled with simple but elegant jewelry from Tiffy Vella. When an outfit has one point of interest, there is no reason to over do it. The jewelry balances the outfit with a touch of elegance without excessiveness. And Tiffy’s work is always beautiful and exact.

I am finally out of this winter thing. Actually what pushed me out of it was a visit to a store.

The neon busy graphics, bold name, and sort of grunge kitty “feel” of Ivey Deschanel’s store always made me think perhaps it wasn’t a place for me. I just don’t do that sort of grunge neko thing very well. However, I went in the other day and found that Ivey does a little more than sassy kitty clothing, and I liked what I saw.

This outfit from Ivey is glam and sexy and elegant all at once. The elaborate textures in the pants, as if burnt into a velvet, accentuate my long legs and curves with the sculpties that bottom out the legs in a flare. The jacket has a great bolero cut with a tied front—very modern and urban. But the sleeves, made of sculpties, have that decadent featheriness (without the cliched PS fur that everyone else uses) that makes this outfit truly glam. The rich depth of the top with its hand-drawn wrinkles and sexy low-cut back (shown here without the jacket) create a slinky and sensuous camisole. The look is complete and whole and ideal. Ivey’s system piece work is clean and well-done with great seams and edges. Her textures in this outfit are delicious.

Sachi Vixen has long been making skins, but her Portia line is a recent addition that once again displays her fine talents as an artist. I especially like the eye makeup on this skin with its subtle rainbow hues, entirely appropriate for an elegant glam girl—not over the top but pushing the edge. And her sexy décolletage is not over the top. I just don’t need to look like I am “enhanced.”

My friend KK IM’d me the other day and told me she needed recommendations for things to wear for skating, holiday shopping, keeping warm, and generally being a snow bunny. So this will be the first of a series I will do on “Wearing Warm.”

We all know that SL finds its home on computers spread out in offices in warmer climates. In fact, a lot of the residents of SL never see snow. They find the whole idea of snow exotic and fun. So let me tell you about how it gets squeaky in REALLY cold weather, how it is fluffy or slushy, how it can drop in big glorious glops of flakes or in dry flurries of twinkledust.

I pulled out an older outfit from Myllie Writer, one she had marketed last year (and is now in her discount area ) to show you one possible ensemble. I have always loved this sweater/skirt set, and it comes in several combinations of colors so you can wear many color combos of sweaters and tights (and at a reasonable price). In poking around Persona today to confirm it was still available, I also purchased a ton of poses, some of which you see here.

I am showing this outfit with hair named after ME. I just get so happy when that happens. And I feel so honored Truth Hawks would honor me with his great work. (Je suis arrivee!) This tousled ponytail compliments the casualness of the outfit and reminds me how windblown hair can get in the winter.

A scarf from Antonia Marat and darling furry boots from Lexi Morgan keep me warm and a luscious skin from Monicuzza Babenco (named “Snow”—go figure), make me feel all snuggly.

It’s no secret that I am friends with Callie Cline. In the past years she has become a good friend, and I truly respect her a lot. I feel lucky to have met her. She really is all that—positive, cheerful, fun, creative, and even crazy.

When she told me she had put up her holiday goods at her Stereo Vogue sim, I had to run over. (Actually she begged me to see.) I put on the Ally Mini Coat (which she had given me a long time ago when I was just a silly fangirl) with its plush fur collar and fun striped teal textures and her teal “kick shickers” and flew over.

Callie had created a winter wonderland in typical Callie style—glittering silver trees, bright colored ornaments, whimsical light poles, twirling twisting paths with icy silver bricks, sweet candy canes, and inexplicably, a big ice bunny. (Well, not really all that odd for Callie… Callie has a bunny project going on and well, she’s Callie.)

I styled my outfit with Callie’s fabulous antlers that have color change ornaments. (A whole slew of the actual ornaments are for sale on her sim as well.) I also wore her big bright blue eyes with a pretty skin from Monicuzza Babenco and blonde hair from Hinano Runo (what other color would I wear in Callie’s clothes).

I have been Calliefornia’d. It ain’t such a bad way to go.

Betty Draper, wife of Don Draper and mother of three, is a forceful, flirtatious, attractive and cute woman. Even though she might not be too content with her situation as a housewife of a womanizing husband her style feminine, preppy and fun style tells otherwise.

Rarely you will catch this woman in dark somber colors, as most of what she owns is dresses or full skirts paired with blouses and cardigans in light, fun colors and often printed. Her waist is often emphasized with a skinny belt and although her hemlines stay just below the knee she has more fun with flirty necklines and roomier sleeves on the coats. Possibly her way of grabbing a little bit of attention rather than just being the trophy wife next to the husband. Her attention to details like many women of the sixties is amazing, never leaving the house without always adding a purse, gloves, a hats or jewelry to complete her outfit.

She is such a picture perfect image, no strand on her head is out of place, it is almost disturbing. Given I hav not seen the Mad Men series, however, a person as seemingly exemplary as Betty Draper many a times has something to hide behind their lovely facade. Everyone has their dark secrets.

I had a problem. I couldn’t choose….

There was BIff, my big muscled bf (get it? Biff? bf?) that I met at a hard rock sim one night. You know the kind of place—a place on the mainland–crammed between a neko bar and someone’s 512 with their first house still on it, littered inside with boxes from shopping and inexplicably, mushrooms. There he was, dancing alone, doing the lime jelly, showin’ his bling and his smokin’ tiger pants he got at a store that advertised IN ALL CAPS. He IM’d me “How r u?” and my heart melted. And heck, he even had prim shoes!

Then there was TightyWhities7463. (Those numbers stand for something—I have yet to find out. I can’t wait til I do!) I met him at an elegant dance place–Frank’s or Bogart’s or something like that. He’s such a gentleman—the first thing he did was pass me a rose. You know.. *The* Red Rose. He was wearing a bowtie and had that dreamy blond hair. He was suave and even though he wore those newbie men’s sandals, I liked him!

What’s a girl to do? One was rough and tumble and one was uptown and class.

I was in a quandary until I bumped into them both while I was out shopping one day. They were.. with each other. I wasn’t sure what to think. (Well, I DID think about it—it WAS BIff after all and TightyWhities might be saying something else.) But I realized, heck, this is SL. We can ALL get along!

So not too much has been happening. Yesterday Eliza and I went to the mall, she went shopping for her boy toy, which made me all ; ; I wish I had a boyfriend to buy gifts for. Oh well.
But yeah, don’t know about Josh, he might actually not come now for new years, but hey family comes first. I don’t know how he feels about me exactly, I just wish he would already figure out what he wants, I can’t ask him what do you find attractive in a girl, since he doesn’t know what he wants. But yeah, whatever. I told him I do yoga, and he was like hmmm yoga, hehe^^ and I also told him its a lot of fun, and he was like, “I bet^^”
Speaking of yoga, I’m going to try and do yoga everyday. Or mix my exercise plan with yoga. I should get in shape, I have this gross tummy I want to get rid of. mean I like my curves, I do have a nice butt, and nice curves, its just my tummy. It’s just a little annoying, cause at the end of the day I’m so tired, but I know if I do exercise more I would be less tired. There’s so many poses I want to do, mostly the crane, and a similar variation.

Josh things she's pretty >.>

he thinks she's pretty too

Well at least they’re brunette. Haha. Its kind of funny, we sort of make each other jealous. Unless it’s just a coincidence, it’s sort of funny, I’d mention about a cute guy, and then right after, I sent those links, and he said those girls are pretty. And when I had my date with douchy davy navy, he became more flirty. Every time i mention a cute guy, he becomes more flirty. I guess maybe it has nothing to do with liking me, I guess he just likes the attention, cause I like him and when he knows some other guy its getting attention, his like heyy wtf, I want attention. Kind of like a challenge, just to have a girl still liking him. I don’t know, it makes more sense in my head. That’s a problem I have, I can’t get my thoughts into words.

Any way, today Eliza and I had a photo shoot. Her boyfriend came over and took pictures of us. We got all dressed up and cute. ^^ She looked amazing, I looked like a dirty pirate hooker. hah.
Then we went to the campus center to get something to eat, and a lot of girls were giving us dirty looks, and lots of guys were giving us, well probably just Eliza, the eye. But I noticed this one really cute guy, checking me out ^^. But serisouly, 90% of these girls at college dress like whores, and the one time I get dressed up (I’ll post a picture up soon) those whores give me dirty looks. >.> At least I don’t wear a shirt thats for a six year old with see through leggings. whatever.

So I’m out here in the hall cause Eliza and her boyfriend you know need sometime alone. So yeah, figured I’d update my blog with stupid information.
I hope I see cute mysterious hall boy, or talk to Josh, but I don’t know what to talk to him about. Maybe he is right, we have that click on few days out of most, not we don’t click on few days out of most. ; ;

Not really, but that’s how I’m feeling right now. So I have 2 best friends from high sc

Not really, but that’s how I’m feeling right now.

So I have 2 best friends from high school. Technically they are best friends and I am the 3rd wheel who got added on to give our group numbers in our tiny class. But it’s generally worked out.

Obviously, coming to college changes some things. I came to Boston College in Chestnut Hill just outside the city, and I live on the bubble-like campus. One friend stayed in Worcester (the outgoing, bubbly, flirty one) to be a nursing student, so it’s not very easy to hang out with her unless we go home. The other friend (the sarcastic, funny, sometimes mean one) also came to the Boston area, although she’s actually in the city, but she’s only like 5 or 6 T stops away from me, but with conflicting schedules it still isn’t easy to plan.

But really, it seems like something continually gets in our way, and she makes no effort to make things better.

Take, for example, last year. I went home and hung out a bit with the one friend, and then had a series of adventures visiting the other. I went to her Sign Language choir performance, I got lost driving there and then got a parking ticket, and I always hang out with her friends and roommates. Like, that’s dedication to our friendship.

But then, look at them. The two of them came to visit me only once, together, and the Boston one brought her roommate. And there was quite bad planning on my part I admit (it was the dayof the Notre Dame vs. BC football game and it rained), but they also came 2 hours later than we originally decided, didn’t want to see any part of my campus or friends, and then we ate at Applebee’s so they could be close to the T and book it out.

And then this, the first week we moved back to school, I went and visited the Bosotn one at her school and we ate out and I came back. And then once the Worcester friend had come out and I again had to go out to see them so one could go shopping (I was leaving right afterwards though to see family).

It’s just a little lopsided, in my opinion.

And yeah, we hung out a ton during the summer when I wasn’t at camp, and it was great. Even though we have changed a lot (some more than others, and me the least), very little anout the dynamic between us ever changes, so it’s always fun.

But now, I doubt if I can ever get them to come see me. Like I’m not worth it to them. I mean, I don’t really expect the one nursing friend to make the trek out here all the time, but the other is like not interested in making things work!

Like, she was supposed to come visit me this afternoon and I was going to make her something vegan to eat, because that’s what she is, although she mentioned something about her roommate coming again. But I said whatever because I want her to come see my new dorm suite. And then I mentioned that my roommate is in a production of The Good Body (a series of monologues along the lines of the Vagina Monologues) and maybe she’d like to go. She was up for it and immediately asked if she could bring more friends and suggested we eat out. Only a little peeved, I told her it was fine. But then when we were trying to set specific times when she was getting here, she said her roommate had a 4:30 hair appointment, and that they might have to meet me at the theatre before the show and we could eat dinner after the show. By this point, I was getting kind of sad, and just agreed. Of course, when talking today, she said she had to work late and couldn’t come.

Which is how it always is, and probably always will be. I bend over backwards for the few people I care about, and get ignored for it. Maybe the conversation would have been a little different had we actually been talking rather than texting, but whatever. And since our schedules conflict tomorrow (she has some work event and I’m meeting John Krasinski), we are making tentative plans for next Saturday. Which I doubt will come to fruition.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Hello, everyone! Well, I know that I have just kind of dropped off the map all of a sudden. My life

Hello, everyone!

Well, I know that I have just kind of dropped off the map all of a sudden. My life just got really busy and really crazy. I just wanted to make a post and reach out and say ‘ hello ‘ to everyone that has continued to pop in over here the past few months.

So, what happened? Are you curious?

Change. Change has been the name of the game these past few months.

Well, first of all , all of a sudden in July my father just gave me the family business. He doesn’t want to do it any more. And, since that is how I make my money, I have taken it over completely, even though it was never anything that I actually wanted to do. So, as you can imagine, I had my hands full with chaos in general. It is never easy owning a business, especially when you have emotional ties with family, so that has just been…..overwhelming – that’s probably the nicest way to put it.

There is so much going on with that that it has really changed alot of my plans, so secondly, I have decided to stop building my other web page. I just am not up to dealing with all of that and I’m not the most tech- oriented person anyway. Oh , well.

There is much much more, but I’m sure you get the point. Things have been busy.

I hope everything has been going well for all of you.

Well, this is iLusciousLife, so here is a little list of things that I have been loving recently.

Nora Jones’s new song Chasing Pirates.

Michael Buble’s New song I Just Haven’t Met You Yet.

Benjamin Sharkey is a singer on You Tube that I found the other night. Check him out. Very, very talented.

The movie The Proposal with Sandra Bullock - I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but it is very funny.

Tonight I watched So You Think You Can Dance and the couple that danced to Two Steps Away from Pattie LaBelle were just absolutely amazing. I love dancing so much! Dancing or watching it is so wonderful.

I love my new candle from Restoration Hardware, it’s pomegranite scented and it’s lovely. Ooo, on my next year list I think I’m going to add a big leather couch from Restoration Hardware – that’s a nice wish, right?

I just bought a sample of perfume from Lucky Scent that I’m really excited about. It’s called Madera. It is supposed to smell like a fine caramel – I will let you know how delicious it is for anyone who who wants to smell like dessert. :) Which is one of my favorite ways to smell.

Well, I guess that’s enough for now. Thanks, for your continued support and interest in my blog. I hope everything is going well for all of you. Feel free to share any thoughts on….. all of the above. As always, I’d love to hear you ideas.

Love ,

I took a little time out of SL to enjoy my RL this weekend. Had pancakes, napped, enjoyed the Fall c

I took a little time out of SL to enjoy my RL this weekend. Had pancakes, napped, enjoyed the Fall colors. And I even got a little shopping in on SL!

I fell into a shopping area that had a little bit of this and that, and I rediscovered Milla Michinaga’s work. Milla was a pretty heavy-duty fashion blogger with a real eye for styling who decided to go into designing herself. Turns out she puts that exacting eye on her own work. I bought one of her elegant shift dresses a while ago and she replaced it to each and every customer after she had found a flaw (which I have yet to find—I thought the dress was excellent).

Her thoroughness still shows in her work. This cute turtleneck plum dress (which handily doubles as a regular turtleneck with the change out of a system piece), is beautifully textured and colored, hand drawn with skill that is hard to beat. And Milla brings her great fashion sense to her label—most of her pieces are versatile separates that will mix and match with creations from across the grid.

So I mixed and matched with this great hair from LGM Jun. There is something so delicious about boy-style hair on an elegant girl, especially when she wants to show off her legs. (Don’t weigh down the sex appeal with a lot on top—make it a long sleek line.) Dangly earrings from Zaara Kohime peek from beneath the short hair.

The legs (and the rest of the gorgeous skin) are courtesy of Monicuzza Babenco. And the boots from Tya Fallingwater make the final statement. Short, scrunchy, they will make their way around the city all day but still look great into the evening.

One has to ask.. who came up with pink leopard? It doesn’t really exist in real life and has a very tenuous existence in SL. So why does it look so darn good? What is so appealing about it?

I have a theory. The pink leopard is the rarest of animals, the softest, the most whimsical, and the sexiest. The novelty and brightness of the color will attract mates and it is this that will ultimately assure her survival in the wild. And oh heck, it’s darn cute.

That’s why Cristina Sugita has seized upon it as a motif and the fabric of this drop dead sexy dress. She has made a great outfit here, combining a cleverly done system piece with prims that move just right. And it’s a great price!

This skin from Rosemary Galbraith at Cupcakes, a Halloween gift at her store, seemed to suit the theme perfectly. With its sparkly pink eye shadow and cats eye liner, rowr!

The shoes I had were a perfect match. I mean, how often will you need pink leopard shoes, yet I was able to wear them! (Which proves I have too many shoes.. cuz pink leopard is not exactly a “neutral.”) Cerberus Noel just put these out as part of an animal pack of pumps.

In honor of yesterday’s blog about “tomorrow’s laundry,” I thought I might show you today’s laundry.

In honor of yesterday’s blog about “tomorrow’s laundry,” I thought I might show you today’s laundry.

I don’t do my laundry at the laundromat. I keep it all at home. In my home studio. In my photosphere. Yeah.

So here I am, setting my hair, doing my laundry in my little feathered mules (cuz every girl has to have those), listening to KCRW and loading this fabulous washer and dryer from Redd Columbia that includes accessories and poses. (I LOVE the stuff at RC Cluster. Go when you need a day of laughter.)

I put on these dainties from Annyka Bekkers because they are so sexy and so versatile all at once. Wear the bra underneath a low cut top for a sexy peekaboo or traipse around the house in the set (as I do, clearly). They are great textures—no ghosting in the pieces and well fit to the avatar mesh. Lorac Farella’s subtler Honesty skin from the Altonia line is sexy and fresh.

These mules from Melanie Zhao are for every girl in SL who has too many shoes but still needs more. I mean, how often are you going to wear feathered shoes but in the privacy of your sim? I just don’t see them going over well at the Velvet or Franks. But they are perfect with a box of chocolates (or a basket of laundry).

“Now they show you how detergents take out bloodstains, a pretty violent image there. I think if you’ve got a T-shirt with a bloodstain all over it, maybe laundry isn’t your biggest problem.Maybe you should get rid of the body before you do the wash.”

I have reached a milestone today.

Today I am thirty years old. That’s right. Hard to believe, I know. 1979 was a great year, that’s for sure.

My life has rocked the past 30 years. Seriously. I’ve certainly had my share of ups and downs, but overall, I have the coolest life.

Here are some of the reasons why…

1. I have the most incredible husband ever. EVER.

2. I have the sweetest babies ever. They have made me a mom, which was what I always, always wanted to be.

3. I have the most awesome family ever. My in-laws are awesome. I’ve got some stellar DNA.

4. I have the bestest friends ever. At every stage of my life, I’ve been blessed with friendships — from junior high to college and beyond.

5. I have been able to go to amazing places and see amazing things. I haven’t traveled as much as some people, but I certainly have seen some interesting corners of the globe and learned a lot along the way.

6. I have unheard of amounts of hilarity in my life. I laugh frequently. And I have the laugh lines to show it, though not the rock-solid abs.

I opened a card from my mom and dad this morning at breakfast. Enclosed with the sweet messages from my parents was a snapshot taken 30 years ago today. It shows my very young parents gazing adoringly at this little, black-haired bundle.

Of course I started the cry. First because I know that feeling. I know what it’s like to hold your firstborn baby girl and think,”This is truly the most beautiful child that a woman has ever given birth to.” And secondly, I started to cry because I was once that firstborn baby girl! I couldn’t believe it! I have always felt adored by my mom and dad, but it was so special to see it and feel it again in that photograph.

I feel very special today. I have received well wishes via all modes of modern communication: email, text, facebook, and phone call. I have also received some old-fashioned cards with stamps on them (which I must admit are my favorite). I even got some birthday granola in the mail from my friend, Beth.

Thirty is going to rock.

A friend of mine had a mom who said, “That dress is so short I can see tomorrow’s laundry.” My own grandmother said, “If it gets any shorter, she will have two more cheeks to powder!” The fun thing is in SL, you can wear the skirt and still get away with it!

Today I am showing ‘tomorrow’s laundry” with a dress from Shiryu Musashi. Shiryu left SL to finish school but he’s back with his luscious hand-drawn textures and exacting detail. Check out the tiny little frog closures he made for the dress on the collar and chest. This dress is short and sexy—the ideal item for looking sexy and cute.

Mouse Mimistrobell is producing like mad—jewelry and now hair. I wore a brilliant blue this time—not my usual color (not even when i am 80), but it just looked so good with Shiryu’s dress. I ran to Cupcake a month or so ago to snatch up her gift sets—what a great idea—a few skins of the same makeup with a dress. Instant makeover.

And the other piece of this complete and great outfit are JB Gazov’s to-die-for boots, this time to the knee. (I showed them short a couple days ago.) He has improved on his old zipped side boots (yes, I have those too—I was shopping JB before he had toes!) and the shape, the style, the colors are all amazing.

Ten reasons why I enjoy being single: 1) I choose what time I come home & have no~one to answer

Ten reasons why I enjoy being single:

1) I choose what time I come home & have no~one to answer too when I do. (apart from an often hungry cat obviously!)

2) I get to eat what I like, when I like.

3) I can take as long as I want getting ready to go somewhere.

4) And I don’t have to then ask anybody “does my bum look big in this?” because I can’t really see it & I don’t really care.

5) I can flirt with whomever I like…..even if that is, as on one occasion recently, the Tesco shelf stacker who didn’t know where the bread sauce was

6) I choose what tv/film I watch of an evening

7) And if I choose to talk on the phone/Twitter all the way through it, that’s my choice.

I disturb no~one with my snoring, & get to sleep in a double bed on my own every night, & stretch out to take full advantage!

9) It’s my bank account, so I spend my wages my way, even if that means I live like a Prince for 2 weeks & then a Pauper for the next two !

10) I genuinely enjoy my own company, so if I need a bit of ‘Fee time’ , I can relax & enjoy it. Recharging my batteries, getting ready to face life full on once again. ….
