Let’s talk about me and my personality for once. I’m a very nice person, most times, with a hint of crazy. I have both the good crazy and the bad crazy. I don’t really want to talk about the bad crazy because it’s a part of me that rarely comes out, and I really really dislike it. So, we shall talk about the good crazy in me. I do some over dramatic things, exaggerate stories, act a bit wild, but then again who doesn’t? I like pretending I’m different people, acting like a dude, I have so much fun making different voices. When I here a certain song come on I just feel like dancing and I’ll do it…even if the song came on in my head. Yes, I’m a bit crazy…but aren’t we all? I don’t always let this crazy side come out but when I do LOOK OUT! because my voice can get really high-pitched and annoying, but if you can’t handle it don’t be my friend. It’s that simple. I’m just a little bit crazy but you got to be able to handle it.

Some of my crazy in action:

alphainventions In the Business section of the November 27th Toronto Star on pages B1 and B2 there i

alphainventions

In the Business section of the November 27th Toronto Star on pages B1 and B2 there is a lot of ink used to notify the public that Toyota is doing a recall on the floor mats. Ink you haven’t seen used to notify the driving public about their Ford F150’s with the problems of leaking front windows, blowing spark plugs and leaking rear windows.

Well, I know nothing will happen but, I felt that with Toyota taking the high road and doing the recall and Ford hiding behind advertising dollars, I have to send a letter to the editor (plus the Toronto Sun).

Here is a copy:

I find it interesting the amount of ink you used to disclose/inform about the floor mat problem Toyota is doing a recall on. Here we have a company that takes full responsibility for a product that MAY cause injury. In Canada, as your article points out, there is no defect but Toyota will still address the problem with a recall. And, unlike our bail-out buddies here, Toyota is reducing managerial bonuses to reflect this decline in quality.

Meanwhile, back at Ford, they still hide behind the skirts of advertising and you see no media hype on Ford’s lack of disclosure/recall on the leaking front window, blowing spark plugs and leaking rear window. The former two can cause injury/death depending on the circumstances. But Ford refuses to do anything about it. They send out a notice to the dealers but don’t inform the public – who carries on with multiple repairs, not knowing the real cause.

You have been made aware of these faults yet do no investigative reporting to ensure the public is made aware of the risk. There are documented cases to the U.S. and Canadian government showing these faults yet we see no ink used to help the public. Only silence that allows Ford to come across as squeaky clean while poor old Toyota faces up to its errors in construction and looks after the consumer.

Ford creates revenue flow by not disclosing these faults and the driving public must pay for repairs out of their pockets, some amount to the $1000’s of dollars. Toyota picks up the tap for this recall and reduces the bonuses of those who were responsible. Accountability that is being shown to us by a foreign company and seems to lack in our car industry and maybe our print industry.

Are your bonuses tied to Ford advertising? It’s called ethics and the Atkinson Principles.

This is not an ad. This is an INTERVENTION!!!

Today’s delight is the Swiffer [effective on wooden or tiled floors only; don't try it on the carpet, or you'll be quite disappointed]. It’s good for picking up all the hair I shed during the course of the day, and dead skin cells (a.k.a. dust). Conveniently collapsible, clean green in colour, and the wet swiffers even leave behind a pleasant apple smell. I like apples. My room now smells of apples, instead of that horrible fishy smell from last night’s dinner. So swiff, swiff, swiff away! It even works great as an onomatopoeia. So what are you waiting for?

Green Works™ products contain biodegradable ingredients: nonionic surfactant and ethanol. Contains no phosphorus. Contains no bleach.

What I Tested It On: Floors, counter tops

How It Worked: What a waste of $6 this was. I used it in place of Mrs. Meyer’s All Purpose Concentrate when I cleaned my kitchen floor this morning, and I wish I hadn’t. First off, I have to use 2x as much as this (according to the directions on the bottle), and it did not clean nearly as well. It left quite a bit of dirt and stains on my linoleum floor despite going over the entire thing three times. I ended up going over the entire floor again with a Wipex floor wipe just to get it reasonably clean. Granted my floor was pretty dirty since I didn’t mop it at all this past week, and I divided up 100Lbs of meat for the dogs this weekend, but again this is something that Mrs. Meyer’s cleans up without a problem. I also used it to clean my kitchen counter and stove top and it worked no better than a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. As far as the GreenWorks line goes I’ll stick with the dish soap and wipes (both excellent products), and avoid this.

Rating: 2/10

Lying down on this cement floor. My ass cheeks kissing the floor reluctantly, as my balls in scream

Lying down on this cement floor. My ass cheeks kissing the floor reluctantly, as my balls in scream in protest. “Get up fool, have some respect, you are making me go bluuuuueeeee….”

Yes, my balls talk. But I can’t move. Instead, I lie in the place that I fell. I had too much. Fucking Charlie!

Now what’s different here is, I normally write a post about what I have done being stoned. Today I was thinking of what to write and I thought that maybe I should write something I haven’t done and then do it before I post. So, I planned to fuck myself up by smoking a big J alone. It’s a Saturday. It’s raining and I am at home bored. So I decided to make a big night of it. My idea for a big night alone, smoke a big one and lie down in the cold darkness, naked and alone and think.

Now this is what actually happened. So I rolled, I smoked. Had some trouble finding a light, and had to go to the gas cooker to light the damn thing, and it was a bit scary. I don’t like playing with fire, unless it’s metaphorical. After I was done, I took of my ‘Sexy’ Boxers and lay down on the cold cement floor of my room. It was so cold. Yet I did not want to move. And seriously, my balls were protesting.

So I lay there immobilized, slowly losing my motor skills and grinning into the darkness. This was liberating. Wish I was up on a ledge or something with the cold night air around me instead of the confines of my little room. I was playing music in the background. My favourite band, jamming it loud. Deffa stoner music, I tell you. It was amazing. All the intricate little details of the song were magnified and listening to it made my heart race. This is everything I had planned to do for the night. The next is when my mind took over my plans and decided to change them.

I couldn’t stay down much longer. Part of me wanted to get up and part of me just want to be the vegetable on the floor. I debated this for a long time. Long time because my mind started going haywire and I forgot about what decision I was taking and thought about other stuff. Like, what would happen if I died right now? How would my parents justify what I was doing in my final hours? What if I had a twin, would he be as awesome as me? Would he do the same things I do? That would be weird though.

Then I finally decided to get up when my favourite song was playing. It was as task and the world spun a bit, but I did get up. Now what do I do? I could feel the music in my veins, slowly talking over. The solemn guitar riffs and the thudding double bass were taking over my body. Everything that made them the best band in the world was taking over me. And then I began head-banging like crazy, like I have never before. In the dark, I couldn’t see shit. This was liberation at its ultimate. I cranked up the volume more and fucking banged like I was watching them live. Air guitar man, I was the air guitar god I nmy own little naked universe. And I gotta tell you, I was naked… my head wasn’t the only thing banging

Disclaimer: This post is somewhat disjointed, for the sole reason that I was very ‘jointed’ when I wrote this.

To start with, here is how this morning’s article on HuffPo kicks off the upcoming procedure:

A crucial first Senate vote on President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in a rare Saturday night session looms as a test of Democratic unity and the president’s prestige.

Democratic leaders are optimistic of success, but they need every Democrat and both independents to vote “yes,” and two moderates remained uncommitted ahead of the roll call, which is expected around 8 p.m. The vote will determine whether debate can go forward on Majority Leader Harry Reid’s 2,074-page bill to dramatically remake the U.S. health care system over the next decade.

A lot of this rests on Senators Lincoln and Landrieu, both of whom have not yet committed to just bring the discussion to the floor. Landrieu is not up for reelection in 2010, but Lincoln is and that is why she is taking longer to decide. Just getting the bill to the floor for discussion does NOT pass it, but merely puts it up for debate and amendment. Once on the floor, it would still have to pick up 60 votes to pass.

According to an interview with Senator John Kyl:

Appearing on Fox News Friday morning, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) insisted that “every single Republican will oppose” even debating health care reform because “they know it will only get worse.”

“None of the things that they like about the bill will get better; and the things they object to would take 60 votes to change, and they know they’re not going to get 60 votes to amend the bill to their liking,” said Kyl, the minority whip in the Senate.

At the same time, The Repiglicans are demanding six weeks of discussion… even though they have already decided to vote against it. A stall? Certainly looks that way.

Let’s wait for tonight’s vote and see what happens.

Ten hours to go, the start of another gruelling shift ahead, get there 15 minutes before the 2/10 shift, place your over sized welly’s on, and make sure that you have two pair of socks, smooth cotton and the thick woollie type sock , just to keep your feet warm, wash your hands with the purple and blue soap, form the hand squeezer ,dry your hands with the new super fast hand dryer, and if you are lucky , you just might get the hand cream so your hand don’t split around the wigs of your finger nails, just a another start to the 2/10 shift.

Before you start ,make sure that the hair net is covering all of your hair, and if you could not be bothered to have shave the night before, wear the snoop, that funny looking thing, that fit’s around your chin and face, and after all that, you just might be ready for your 2/10 shift.

The factory is already of hustle and bustle form the shift before, all the different languages are talking, some polish, some English, some cheq, and a language, that you quite don’t under stand yet.

Walk pass the factory line, the machine have been working 24 hours flat, not faltering around and round they seems to be in continuous moving world that time seems to have no meaning, fit on your blue thin gloves with a twang, wear two pairs instead, just to make sure that the first pair does not split, and now you are all ready for your 2/10 shift

The radio in the back ground playing the same songs, You heard yesterday, walking through the factory floor, and you finally get to your working area, and of course it has to be right next to the freezer section, with the big sliding doors open all the time, because of the constant traffic in and out of the large freezer, the boss tells you, what’s to be done, and your are off, keeping moving, looking down the conveyer belt, waiting for the first item, that has to be packed, its a slow start, waiting for the machine to be changed, but when it get going, there no stopping it, one hand at first, then two hands, just to make sure that you are keeping up, conversation is slow, with your work colleges, some like not to talk, some can not stop talking.

You look at the clock on the wall, two hour in, some days it seems like two minutes and some days it seems like to two days not two hours, the sound on the conveyer belt, is starting to make the same sounds now, the repeated sound, of smooth turning of the plastic belt, which slowly turns into a hypnotic sound, which can be smoothing to the ear, it’s the sound you love to hate.

Four hours have gone, in the back of your mind it must be break time soon, you have half an hour, to get changed, get to the canteen, eat, and get to the outside smoking area, as each day passes, you try to think of a better way, of how to save those precise, minutes, and before you know it, its gone, finished, back to the factory floor, for an other four hours.

A quick stretch and jump up and down, gets you warmed up again, and back to it, sometimes the mind can play tricks on you, the smoothing turning noise has gone, you can not hear the radio and you are in the automatic mode, just like the machine, your eyes are wide open, trying to stay focused and trying to be quick as possible, and snap , the turning noise has come back, the radio is back in the foreground, and you wonder where have I been, you look up and the other workers seems to be in the same place that you have just been in, sliming to them selves , and you think to yourself, what are they sliming about, an other look at the clock , just to hours to go, will there be over time to night, or will it be the normal 2/10 shift.

The hands are know starting to throb with the cold, and the constants dampness of the products you are packing, run them under the hot tap, keep them warm, last hour, starting to slow down, you snap yourself back into action again, the back pain you have had all day, does not seems to exist any more, but if you slow down and start to think about it, it comes back again.

You have just been informed, that there is the two hours over time , do you laugh or do you cry, you try to give yourself a small boost up, to make sure that you can make it through an other two hours, take a walk to the toilet, just a change of environment, will give your mind, that all important rest, and then a deep breath, and away you go again, not bothering to look at the clock on the wall, you think to your self, if I don’t look, the time will go quicker, and it does, not much conversation on the line, workers starting to get tied, buy you finally make it, the gruelling 2/10 shift is over, you slowly climb the stairs to get to the changing area, slowly taking your white coat off, as you walk up the stairs, you crab your basket, the type that you used to get , when you went to the swimming pool, all done , your changed, and ready to get home, will it be your loved one, that be waiting for you or will it be the microwave two minute meal.

You see the out side ,after the shift and its dark outside, 20 minute walk home, soon be home and ready for the next day and next shift, all for that 2/10shift.
