It’s that time of year Los Angeles! That’s right, the 2011 DUB Show Tour is this SUNDAY, March 27th at the L.A. Convention Center…all going down from 12-6 PM, rain or shine.

This year’s show is gonna be HUGE, with even more of the sickest rides in the game ranging from one-off Lowriders to million-dollar exotics and everything in between, including the craziest bikes around! Check out how L.A.’s finest car clubs as they show off their crème de la crème selection of rides and stay to find out who takes home some of the top prizes.

Other L.A. highlights include taking pictures with Shaq’s newest toy—his custom 2011 Ford 5.0 Mustange Widebody Convertible at the Ford display. For all you UFC fans out there, we’ve got the Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez in the house, singing autographs and taking pictures with fans, as well as UFC Bantam Weight Champion Dominick Cruz. Continue your MMA fill at Ghost Motorsports’ booth, where you can meett MMA fighters Mike Chandler and Jay Hieron, in addition to seeing some live ink work by Skid Row Tattoos.

We also have some nice eye candy for bike enthusiasts with the Kawasaki booth featuring the hottest bikes in their line-up, including the Vulcan Vaquero and ZX10. We also have the most publicized streetbike freestyle rider in the world, Kane “Insane” Friesen (who currently holds the Guinness Book World Records for an endo that’s been radared at 137 mph) performing some sick ass tricks in front of the convention center. And we’ve only just begun to describe just some of the goodies that await you at this Sunday’s DUB Show Tour!

The Monster Energy Zone is the perfect place to rest up from all the excitement you’ll face. Stop by and enjoy some free Monster Energy drinks, check out the beautiful, world-famous Monster girls and be entertained by some insane B-Boy and MC battles.

Right as we were getting ready to leave Far East Movement showed up. They were very gracious and Julian was happy to meet them.

The guys were great with Julian. They signed a poster and a Android figure for him and talked with him. He wanted to take a photo with them especially since he had the same style of sunglasses they did.

Thanks again to Ashton and SA Studios for the invite! We had a great time!

Besides there clean images based around that precious mineral, they have supported many rappers from day one like Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, Strong Arm Steady, Rick Ross and Wale to name a few. They also have collabed with every major brand you can possibly think of such as The Hundreds, 10 Deep, Nike, Crooks and Castles, to name a few and have made them most wanted tees.

Started in 1998, by bay area native skateboarder/designer Nick Tershay aka Nick Diamond, as a skateboard accessory and clothing company. The brand has since evolved and back in 2005 released some of the most valuable Nike SBs ever released by Nike, the “Tiffany” Dunks, and ever since, Diamond has taken off and never looked back.

Not to mention Diamond’s Skate Team, the closest to a dream team in skateboarding, with crew members like Eric Koston, Paul Rodriguez, Stevie Williams, Terry Kennedy, Bob Burnquist, Kareem Campbell and such newcomers as Torey Pudwill.

Oh yah... Couldn't forget your secret man-crush Zac Efron!!

Probably the hottest artist currently in the local New Orleans rap scene, Curren$y gives his fans a little more than what they were expecting in Pilot Talk 2.  The album not only features artists such as Raekwon and Fiend, but consists of twelve brand new tracks produced by the one an only, Ski Beatz.

1.  Airborne Aquarium

The first track in the album is actually a song, for once.  Usually Curren$y likes to have an introduction to his mixtapes or albums, but not for Pilot Talk 2.  The beat is subtle, and good for an album opener.

2.  Michael Knight

The second track is the single for the album, and probably the most liked.  Sampling the introduction to the television show Knight Rider, Curren$y catches the listeners in a trap with its hook, repeating Michael Knight, Michael Knight Michael Knight…

3.  Montreaux

This track is a little different from the previous two.  This song consists of no hook.  Once he starts rapping, he doesn’t stop until the song is over.  The beat, also, is different than the previous two.  It features real instruments recorded, rather than the other two digitally made beatz.

4.  Famous

The fourth track is my personal favorite.  Originally released and produced by Monstabeatz, Curren$y brings this track back with better recordings.  Very, very jazzy.

5.  Flight Briefing

The fifth track I consider to be a nice little break.  It is a more relaxed song and only has one verse from Curren$y, but I think it is one of the better songs on the CD.

6.  A Gee

The sixth song is actually one of the weaker songs, in my opinion.  The beat is predictable and I don’t think he put much thought in the hook.

7.  Real Estates

The seventh song makes up for the sixth song.  It starts off with the funkiest bass line probably on any Curren$y track, backed by a heavily-effected synth lead.  It also features Dom Kennedy, cofounder of Fly Society.

8.  Silence

This is my least favorite track.  I like the idea of the song better than what actually came out of it.  The piano line is generic, along with the beat behind it.  Although the female vocal track does improve the mediocrity, it does not sound mixed very well.  Maybe it was done on purpose, I don’t know.

9.  Hold On

Another funky/real instrument track.  The guitar lead is very clean and catchy.

10.  Fashionably Late

This track features a piano line i DO like.  I like this beat a lot, as it is probably the most unpredictable one on the album.

11.  Highed Up

This is also one of my personal favorites.  The track is featured horns, and roots Curren$y back to New Orleans.  Anybody who appreciates the dirty south and can dig this song.

12.  O.G. (The Jam)

The way this song starts off is a lot like how every song on the CD starts off, but as it gets into it, it improves.  Chill, but catchy.

13.  Michael Knight (Remix)

This is just an extension of the original Michael Knight FEATURING RAEKWON.  Curren$y and Raekwon working together? Somebody’s moving up in the world…

Listen & Download: Fly Society – You

On 11.22.10 (or the 23rd), Pilot Talk II by the o’so underrated artist Curren$y will be available to the masses. Curren$y is such a great hip-hop artist; sure, he mostly raps about weed and getting girls, but the way he delivers  is not mediocre. When he’s partnered up with Ski Beatz who creates those awesome, chill 90′s sounding  hip-hop beats, the relationship produces music for the ears to enjoy, lyrics for the mind to think about, and rhythms for the head to bop to.I do not listen to much hip-hop, especially that mainstream crap (*cough cough* Soulja Boi, Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka…) Yea, I said it; those guys make my ears bleed. However, artists like Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa are worth listening to.  Plus, anyone who has sick album artwork like that is surely cool in my book.
