By Pete McMartin, Vancouver Sun

Whenever someone frets about the erosion of personal freedoms in our modern society, such as in the steady proliferation of surveillance cameras in public places, the stock answer, which is one I read all too often in my e-mail, is:

“If you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”

People who say this are fools, not to be too blunt about it. Not only are they willing to trade away my rights, since they haven’t a basic appreciation of theirs, but their understanding of the relationship between government and the governed is one of subservience based on fear, and the idea that their fear is not only natural, but justifiably permanent given the state of the world.

Thus, we should all be fearful, all of the time. We should empower government to do whatever it feels necessary to protect us. The unquestioning nature of this logic not only institutionalizes fear, it makes it a patriotic duty. And the good citizen, the one who has done nothing wrong, will have nothing to worry about.

Oh, yeah?

Out of Britain comes the case recently of 40-year-old Jenny Paton, mother of three and, in the eyes of the state, a security hazard. Her crime? She was suspected of falsifying her address to enrol her daughter in a neighbouring school.

A covert surveillance operation was begun on her in 2008, when — and I am not making this up — an officer from the local education department followed her for three weeks. He noted her movements in a log. The department obtained her telephone records.

Paton had done nothing wrong. And the local council where Paton lives maintained it had nothing wrong, either. Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act of 2000, local governments have the power to use surveillance to investigate such picayune matters as reports of people not cleaning up after their dogs, or whose dogs bark too loudly, of people who don’t recycle or who put out their trash early, of people who operate unlicensed taxicabs. Some 474 local governments and 318 agencies have availed themselves of these powers (including, hilariously, the Charity Commission), and they can, and do, use hidden cameras, examine phone records, track website visits and hire people to go undercover.

According to a New York Times story on Paton’s case, which is being heard by a regulatory tribunal, local governments in Britain not only use these surveillance powers regularly, they “self-authorize” such activities outside the scrutiny of the judicial and law enforcement systems. One government report found that some 10,000 “directed surveillance missions” had been undertaken in a single year.

Britain, once the crucible of parliamentary democracy, is now a surveillance state, and is more insidiously Orwellian than Orwell could have ever imagined. It has an estimated 4.2 million closed-circuit TV cameras — one for every 14 citizens — and new powers allow police there to access telecom records without judicial authority. In 2007, they did so 500,000 times.

What has this all to do with us?

We are putting on an Olympics. The security budget, as best as non-government sources can estimate, is now in the range of a billion dollars. Included in that will not only be the cost of toys such as an armoured personnel carrier, but a rumoured 900 to 1,100 CCTV cameras for surveillance of Olympic venues and city entertainment areas.

There is nothing wrong with this, despite the ludicrous overkill. Security at events like these is a good thing. And the powers that be have assured the public that the CCTV cameras were temporary in nature and would all be removed once the Olympics had finished.

Well, hmmm. Colour me skeptical. Earlier this year, the City of Vancouver announced it would be retaining 10 of those cameras to be deployed on a mobile basis by police as they saw fit, and that they would be monitored out of a permanent control room at the city’s emergency operations centre.

A small matter? Numerically, yes, but cumulatively, no. Small matters add up to big trends. And what big events like the Olympics do is normalize the idea of security as an antidote to our constant state of fear. They are now as much of an Olympic legacy as debt hangover. So we spend a billion dollars to counteract every possible attack, including domestic, foreign or yet to be imagined, and get ever used to the idea that we must let governments do whatever they must — including trampling on our right to privacy — to protect us.

Sociologist David Lyons of Queen’s University has a good line on this. He said surveillance efforts are no longer being based on “insurable risks” — where risk was assessed on historical precedent — but have shifted to “incalculable risks” — those unimaginable acts of terrorism like 9-11 that government maintains can be countered only by increased security and surveillance.

In that sense, to allude to that hoary Bush-ism, the terrorists have won.

We not only fear the terrorists, but our governments, too.

Let me ask ya something. Well…more like relay some shit to ya, confide in ya for a sec.

Why is it that when I try to spit some true shit, some knowledge, or even offer a different point of view, that people don’t seem to feel what I’m saying, BUT as soon as another person utters some fool’s wisdom people adore it? Just because someone with a gimmick for a title, someone with an inflated image, says something that resembles knowledge or wisdom. I find it frustrating honestly. Because not only do I have to deal with the ignorant reasonings that those false prophets say, but I sit in disgust as people eat it up.

I try my best to give it, whatever “it” pertains to at that present moment, to people real. Break it down into the simplest form, and examining it from all sides.

And it kills me when me when people ask me for my opinion. Because they truly don’t want my opinion. They want me to massage their ego, and jump on the bandwagon. I give props when I feel it is necessary, but when I tell you how I feel I tell you my truth, and my opinion. People don’t like constructive criticism, they just want that stamp of blind approval. That’s probably why people get the big head, and then they get it deflated real quick when they find out they’re not everything people tell them.

But I digress.

My frustration constantly stays with me, because I’m constantly surrounded by this kind of idiocy. Sometimes I just want to tear people a new one when they say some of the things they do. Because ignorance bothers me. A lot.

And what bothers me more may be that people would prefer to stay this way. Ignorant to everything surrounding them. They would much rather stay deaf to wisdom, and blind to the truth.

They don’t accept nuggets of knowledge

But instead, they are satisfied with mounds of fool’s gold…

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” —Romans 1:22

Sinful, fallen, unbelieving descendents of Adam profess or assert themselves to be wise, but they became fools. From the original Greek text, they literally act moronically. They may call themselves atheists or agnostics or scientific, passing themselves off as intellectuals, using the intangible things that can only come from God, such as logic, reason, deduction, &etc. There are some that try to profess some sense of intelligent thought by suggesting the foolish, stupid, and moronic claim that there are no absolutes, “…and therefore,” they say, “there could not be an absolutely holy and transcendent Being that exacts absolute justice upon unrighteousness.” Yet, they appear to be absolutely certain about this claim.

A First Grader, however, can tell you that 2+2=4. It always has; it always will. That’s about as absolute as it gets. It never changes. It is an absolute constant in the universe.

God created the universe with exact precision. He created it with reason, design, and purpose, using such absolutes as 2+2=4; the likes of such absolutes these philosophers never take into account that, were it not for 2+2=4, they wouldn’t be able to get to their next lecture flying from Chicago to New York.

How did they become fools? They suppressed the truth in unrighteousness (1:18) by being filled with pride. Pride basically is man saying to God, “I know better than You.” That is what the text says here as these sinful men profess themselves to be wise. And although Proverbs 16:18 tells us that “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall,” the sin of pride has its origin in another sin: Covetousness, which is idolatry.

FROM: Micheal Baumann (michaelbaumann@kirkland.com)
SUBJECT: Claudio Miranda claim for Copyright Infringement committed by Willowrise LLC

I recently was contacted by Claudio Miranda Cinematography with regards to a copyright infringement made by Creocan Graphics, subsidiary of Willowrise LLC.

A photo is currently posted that you do not have the rights to publish without permission. It is important that we inform you of the seriousness of this matter and request that you remove the photo from the site immediately.

Please remove the photo still taken by Claudio Miranda posted here: http://www.creocan.com/lds_film_buff.htm

In some cases the owner of a copyright will simply produce a warning to the person(s) that have illegally posted the material. My client has decided to move forward with a lawsuit against Willowrise LLC for this infringement.

In a case where the copyright owner sustains the burden of proving, and the court finds, that infringement was committed willfully, the court in its discretion may increase the award of statutory damages to a sum of not more than $150,000. In a case where the infringer sustains the burden of proving, and the court finds, that such infringer was not aware and had no reason to believe that his or her acts constituted an infringement of copyright, the court in its discretion may reduce the award of statutory damages to a sum of not less than $200.

My client believes this to be an act committed willfully and has therefore asked me to inform you of this lawsuit.

DO NOT attempt to reply to this message or contact Claudio Marianda Photography or Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Attempting to do so will create further litigation and damages. I will be contacting you again within the next 24 hours to further discuss this matter.

Daily Mail – The worldwide Anglican Church has been plunged into a fresh crisis after a lesbian was chosen as its second gay bishop. In a move that will dismay the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, Canon Mary Glasspool was elected as an assistant bishop for the diocese of Los Angeles. …But St Paul’s Cathedral’s Canon Chancellor Giles Fraser, a leading liberal, said: ‘This is another nail in the coffin of Christian homophobia.’

Got news for you chump, this is another nail in the coffin of the Anglican church not homophobia, if that fool thinks this is somehow liberating and invigorating then he is dumber than a post. I don’t know about you folks, but the way I see it, if you allow homosexuals and lesbians to start becoming priests and bishops, why can’t you let some fellow sleeping with his brother or father or some other depravity become a bishop.

You just have to expand the reasoning for accepting homosexual relationships, if you say that two men or women being sexually involved is perfectly alright because they have feelings for each other and end of discussion, then what reason have you got to deny a father and his son or three guys cavorting with each other from becoming bishops. There is none and there in lies the reason why any church heading down this slippery slope is doomed.

If any dumb liberals are reading this and think this is not the case, then go and set up your own church with a banner out the front, we don’t believe in anything, this is the church of anything goes. Then see how many some running to your door every sunday.

Meanwhile, I think it’s best if the folks dismayed and outraged by this cut these homo churches loose, otherwise they’ll drag you down with them.

Today my sleep got interrupted due to something i knew would happen after my last FAKE previews post

Today my sleep got interrupted due to something i knew would happen after my last FAKE previews post, yep that’s right it was fake.I knew someone would freak if post it up (someone who isn’t even a member of wordpress) is that how much you trust me?Nice, real nice.

Making up stories to ask me such things…really???REALLY?????wow.I’m not surprised you would do that. What a great..thing we have.

Anywho something that actually matters to me..

Virgo Woman

One thing you need to know about a Virgo woman – she has guts and lots of them! It doesn’t mean that she is not as shy and as reserved as she seems to be. It’s just that she can do anything and everything for the people she loves. By love, she mean real love, no other type of love exists for her. A Virgo female is a complete woman! She has all the charms and tricks that any other female has, but she is not weak. Infact, she has quite a determination and can do anything if she sets her mind to it.

She will be completely devoted and loyal to you in a relationship. Still, if it doesn’t seems to be working, she will severe all the ties and become as cold as the North Pole. Virgo women’s characteristics profile is an odd mix of emotions and practicality, romance and common sense. When they fall in love, they show such extreme passion and intensity that only few other women can. Making them fall in love is, however, an entirely different task. They will demand total perfection from you, even though they may fall short in that arena.

It’s better to get used to their critical nature. A Virgo girl believes that she is extremely efficient and organized and what is more annoying is, that SHE IS RIGHT. She is a stickler for time and it’s better not to be late when you are meeting her. She will not break the new, expensive vase when she is upset, but she can be very demanding and fussy. If the fault is yours, admit that you are wrong and say it while handing her the flowers. Don’t even try to argue, or she will lose her temper again.

It is better to leave her alone for sometime and she will cool again. On the other hand, a Virgo woman will find it very hard to accept that she is wrong. The fact is, most of the time she’s not. When you are courting her as well as after you get married, it is advisable to mind your manners. She cannot tolerate someone using abusive language, coming late, dressing sloppily, not minding table manners, etc. It’s better to brush up your vocabulary too. She will not cling to you, nor will she become totally aloof.

She is also very good with finances and extravagance is not one of her personality traits. A Virgo female cannot stand public displays of affection and it is better to be subtle in this area. Her taste is very good and her intellect quite developed. If you are trying to woo her, take her to places like theatre, art gallery, etc. Just like a typical Virgo, she is prone to worrying about things too much and she will do your part of the job too. She is very much attached to the ground and prefers to live in the real world.

You let a Virgo female do her part of making things seem just perfect and she will keep you entertained with all her feminine charms. She is very sensitive and her feelings are pretty fragile, but she will become exceedingly strong when you need her support. With kids, she will be very considerate and you will never see them running around in their underclothes. She will gentle, but firm and will demand complete discipline from them. Even though a Virgo woman is very critical, she will not take criticism very nicely. It never works the other way round for her.

The reason for this is that she is as aware of her own imperfections as she is of yours. So, she doesn’t need you to remind her of her own shortcomings every now and then. Instead of fretting over her perfectionism, you should feel blessed to have such a charming female who never makes your house look like a garbage dump. Your toast will never get burnt and your coffee will always taste just perfect. She has a witty side too and when she laughs, it seems like the ringing of little bells, doesn’t it!

Best woman out there i must say!

According to some Arminian (which besides being that kind of heretic is also the contentious KJV onl

According to some Arminian (which besides being that kind of heretic is also the contentious KJV only kind), the MKJV is a “perversion” rather than God’s word because,

“The MKJV is hardly a King James Version. It is another modern perversion that seeks to put secular thinking above godly reasoning.

The publisher and maker of the MKJV is Jay P. Green, a Calvinistic Bible perverter.”

Well God damn those Calvinists cuz they just love to pervert the Bible by endorsing homosexuality and beastiality in it. Moron, sto perverting the meaning of the word pervert you Arminian weasel-wording idiot.

“He says on page 3 of the February-April 1999 edition of Christian Literature World, Inc.’s magazine/catalog that “… the MKJV is superior because of constant referral to what the lexicons (dictionaries) say is the meaning of a word.” That does not make it superior at all.”

Cuz ye sayeth so. Cuz ur mere feelings and mere word make ye rite, cuz Calvinistic is bad.

“As a matter of fact,”

Well as a matter of fact saying “as a matter of fact” doesn’t make you factual, just a pretentious, time-wasting moron who thinks making high sounding phrases makes him right.

“the MKJV is far insuperior to the KJB due to “constant referral to what the lexicons (dictionaries) say is the meaning of a word.”

What? Speak modern English please, not Insano. So, you hate it when people give evidence, references, as to the true meaning of a word? You must love Wikipedia then.

“It uses modern watered down wording for a translation,”

Cuz ye sayeth so.

“and while Jay P. Green blasts the NIV, NASB, NKJV, and other perversions,”

You sure love talking about perversion.

“he also tries in vain to discredit the King James Bible based on how he thinks something should read.”

Well how dare those Calvinisticy people “THINK“! DAMN THAT THINKING!!! J.P. is so vain!!! As a matter of fact I saw him trying in vain to be vain last night wearing a really fancy bow tie, it was so vain, and perverted.

“Jay P. Green does not believe that Acts 9:5-6 and 1 John 5:7″

Well damn hiiiim damn him to Hell! How dare he not accept Act:9:5-6 and 1 John 5:7, for King Arminian Whoever Ye Are Has Declared that they indeed as a matter of fact areth God’s word and that’s good enough for me-eth, especially since J.P. is a, ooooo *pouts*, ooooweh, oooooooooooo… *makes angry tormented face*: A CALVINIST!

“are a part of the Holy Scriptures (See the Interlinear New Testament, Preface, p. xii).”

No, I won’t see it, don’t ya know referencing is bad. Only Calvinistic people reference things, so we shouldn’t do it either or that would be appeasing Calvinistic peoples.

“He has changed the word of God to fit modern evolutionists.”

Cuz ye sayeth so. And why did you say modern? Were their ancient evolutionists?

“He said, “The names of animals of the Bible have been corrected according to scientific studies today”

And that equals appeasing evolutionists how? Oh, cuz ye sayeth so and that’s good enough. Not. So, rather than referring to “auroch”, we should say “unicorn”, and because supposedly, some evolutionist invented the word? You stupid idiot: the word auroch was first used in about 1760, there were no evolutionists then you stupid fool. And even if an evolutionist had come up with the word so we shouldn’t use it because that’s trying to appease them cuz… cuz… cuz you said so! So we shouldn’t referr to the Hubble Telescope as the Hubble Telescope if an evolutionist is the one that invented that phrase? What then should we do, wait for an Arminian to come up with it? What she would call it, “That damned science metal thingy with glass that gives evolutionists sciency stuff”? Cuz don’t ya know if you use a word by anyone other than an Arminian, “it’s, trying to appease them”? Hey if you want to be consistent then we should only use words invented by Arminians. No wonder to me that you hate dictionaries so much, they encourage people to use their free will rather than being a slave to Arminian dogma!

By the way, God forbids logomachy, do you know what that is? It’s arguing over petty differences of words. Do you know that God forbids logomachy and being contentious at all, or do you only care about referring to the KJV, thinking that merely referring to it makes you right, you hypocrite?

Thanks for showing how desperately evil and stupid anti-Calvinists are.

God bless you.

This is a rant. If you are a die-hard Democrat or Republican with more loyalty to your political party than to the country, you do not want to read this. It will get your blood pressure up.

Each time I write one of these posts, I open the cage where the demon raptors live. I write about what happened in Vietnam—the anger, the experiences, the flashbacks or someone else’s experiences, and I hope one of those raptors will use its flaming wings to take flight and never come back.

After forty years, I’ve learned there is no guarantee those raptors will stay away.

Starting last week, I have been angry with LBJ, the Democrat, and GWB, the Republican—AGAIN!

I’m also disappointed in the people that voted for them. President Lincoln said, “You can fool some of the people most of the time and most of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” If so, there are many fools out there and some of them will call me worse for writing this.

I don’t know about LBJ, but there are millions that still believe what GWB did in Iraq was right. Those people are probably the ditto heads that listen to idiots like Rush Limbaugh.

LBJ and GWB have a lot in common. Both started wars with lies and deceit. The facts say that both Vietnam and Iraq were unnecessary, and many that served with courage in those wars now live with roadside bombs inside their heads and never know when one might go off.

It’s been documented many times that GWB wanted to start a war in Iraq well before 9/11. “He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999,” said author and journalist Mickey Herskowitz. “It was on his mind. He said to me: ‘One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.’ And he said, ‘My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.’ He said, ‘If I have a chance to invade Iraq, if I had that much capital, I’m not going to waste it—”

But enough about GWB. It’s LBJ’s turn to burn, who, it seems, started the Vietnam War with lies.

Before he was assassinated, President Kennedy talked about getting out of Vietnam. Listen to what Tip O’Neill, former speaker of the house, says.

The next blow to America was the CIA’s alleged involvement bringing drugs into the United States, possibly creating today’s drug problems that are eating the country like a malignant cancer.

What is it that sets America apart from most of the World? The Bill of Rights, right?

The reason for The Bill of Rights was to protect American citizens from the corruption of government. Sad to say, the evidence shows that The Bill of Rights has become a rusty, leaky bucket.

The acronym “WWJD” was the popular christian t-shirt of the nineties. Sooo … how can one know what Jesus would do? It depends heavily on which part of the New Testament you read.

The nice guy Jesus:

Matthew 5:43-45
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 7:12
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

The violent vandal Jesus:

John 2:13-16
“When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here!“

The angry, name calling Jesus:

Matthew 23:33
“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?”

Matthew 23:15
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.”

Matthew 23:16-17
“Woe to you, blind guides! … You blind fools!”

Matthew 23:24
“You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.”

The cruel and threatening Jesus:

Luke 14:26
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.”

Matthew 8:21-22
Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

Matthew 5:30
“And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”

Matthew 18:9
“And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.”

Mark 11:13-14, 20-21
Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again … In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

Matthew 10:34
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.“

The fear mongering fire and brimstone Jesus:

Luke 12:46-47
“The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows.”

Matthew 10:28
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Matthew 5:22
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Mark 10:25
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

The next time a person disagrees with your religion: call them a blind snake, tell them to gouge out their own eye and explain how they will one day be destroyed by the fires of hell. All while chasing them around with a whip. After all, that’s what Jesus did.
