Do you, yes you (the person reading my blog) use the Internet. Really USE the internet? Well, according to this study people do! But…I will get back to that shortly.

We live in a digital world. People keep up with their friends, clients, families every move. We have digital TV, cell phones which run our daily life, computers which can run companies, and social media.

I use the internet to sell houses. This may be foreign to many people in the Columbia, SC area, but the internet sells homes. Marketing is probably the single most important thing when selling a house. Technological marketing is as important as well.

Using websites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and several other social media platforms is a normal part of my day. Why you ask? It gets me in front of people, most importantly, it gets YOU in front of people.

People are facinated with technology. This study proves it!

84 percent of buyers use the Internet (up from 80 percent in 2006) to find their home.

29 percent of buyers first found their house through the internet.

Do I need to say anymore about this, or am I beating the horse?

Another important aspect of Technology is to get your house in front of Realtors and buyers in different locations. Many other Real Estate Professionals read my blog, know me on Facebook, follow me on Twitter. This is just another way to get your home sold. AND IT WORKS!

Believe it or not, us geeky Realtors have a whole other world out there. We post on Active Rain to get in front of other professionals, we blog, we listen to Radio Shows. We are a community with one objective…TO SELL HOUSES!

This should be obvious by now…but let me reiterate. Technology sells houses. 84% of buyers used the internet to start their home search. Therefore, if your Realtor is not tech savy, you are missing out on 84% of the buyers!

Obviously, my listings are advertised on this blog, my personal website, and several other websites including Trulia, Zillow, Craigslist, and even in my social media work.

How will this help you get your house sold? Refer to the statistic that 84% of buyers used the internet to start their home search.
