RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish fequently updated works such as, blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video in a standardized format. An RSS document includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship.

If your system is slowly grinding to a halt, and multitasking is a nightmare, you may need to check your swap is in use. If you’re experiencing non-stop, furious hard drive activity resulting from even the most simplest tasks (like clicking another tab in your browser, or even something basic like minimising an app), with things you’ve initiated taking 2 minutes or more to appear, then open a terminal and enter top.

You’ll see “Swap” near the beginning, and if the total is 0k (that’s zero kilobytes), then that means your swap has been deactivated for some reason. To enable it again, start the Partition Editor (found in System > Administration; if it isn’t installed, enter sudo apt-get install gparted in a terminal to do so).

Locate linux-swap, right-click it, and choose Swapon. Your swap partition should now be in use, but if you have further hassles, it might pay to reformat (or even delete) the swap with GParted (ie: Partition Editor). To format it again, just right-click the swap and choose Format > linux-swap.

In case the swap appears on (even if not working), you will need to Swapoff to get the Format options. Similarly, if you decide to delete the swap and start again, you might need to turn it off first so the Delete option is available. The swap can then be recreated with the unallocated space it left when deleted, which you would then format as linux-swap.

Masalah

Microsoft Word adah pengolah kata untuk menghasilkan dokumen untuk dishare atau diprint, dengan banyak keuntungan, bisa untuk mengindex, membuat tabel yang siap diprint. Tapi, untuk digunakan sebagai tool untuk web publishing, microsoft word kurang ideal dan menghasilkan HTML yang tidak pas. Pengolah kata yang lain juga demikian, seperti OpenOffice misalnya.

Ketika text di-paste, awalnya tampak baik-baik saja.

Tapi, lihat pada kode HTMLnya, anda akan melihat adanya banyak penambahan informasi tag.

Semakin banyak anda mengedit, hasilnya bisa menjadi lebih buruk.Begitu muncul sebuah problem anda akan berusaha untuk mengatasinya dengan segenap upaya.  Kode yang sama dengan yang di atas dapat ditulis dengan lebih bersih dengan menggunakan WordPress visual editor:

Menggunakan Word Cleanly

Jika anda menimbang bahwa anda tetap akan menggunakan Word maka anda sebaiknya menggunakan fitur Word cleanup untuk menghilangkan tag yang berlebihan dari text anda.  Dari visual editor klik pada tombol show kitchen sink:

Akan tampak pada begini, di mana anda akan menyisipkan:

Bila sudah seperti yang diinginkan, anda dapat klik  insert dan ini akan membersihkan konten dan memasukkan pada postingan anda. Catat bahwa semua format akan dihilangkan sehingga semua style harus anda tambahkan kemudian.

Once again, there is a, dvd, technology format war looming on the horizon. Many people don’t remember the VHS – Betamax battle that broke out when video players were first introduced, making it possible for people to watch movies at home. This was a case of two non-compatible technologies, each of which was a format for taping full length feature films. Ultimately VHS won, dvd, out, and the movie companies put out their, dvd, products in that format – thus dooming Betamax and the product manufacturers that had adopted, dvd, their technology, not to mention the thousands of consumers that had invested in Betamax players, dvd, . We now find ourselves on the verge of creating a new set of sore losers.
Skirmishes over LCD versus plasma, dvd, screen HD TV technology are ongoing, but that type of technology contest isn’t as acute because you can watch TV or a movie on, dvd, either, dvd, type of screen. Currently, you can also play every DVD available on any DVD player that is in production and on the market. The next generation of DVD players, however, is coming over the horizon in the form of two distinct and incompatible technologies.
Toshiba versus Sony
Toshiba has developed a proprietary technology dubbed high definition DVD (HDDVD) and to support their, dvd, format has developed alliances with Microsoft and Universal Films, among others. The HDDVD disks will be available in 15GB and two sided, 30GB versions, dvd, .
By way of comparison, the current DVDs have enough, dvd, storage for two hours of standard definition (SD) images, while the one-sided 15 gigabyte HDDVD disk can store up to eight hours of high, dvd, definition (HD) images. The difference between SD and, dvd, HD is simply twice the number of pixel lines displayed on the screen in the HD format, thus providing a crisper picture. The increased capacity of these disks will also allow for interactive features such as screen-in-screen director’s discussion of movie scenes playing behind him that today’s standard DVDs cannot support.
In the other corner is the Blu-Ray technology developed by Sony, who has lined up support from Apple, Disney and 20th Century Fox. Both formats use blue laser technology, which has a shorter wavelength than red, allowing it to read the smaller digital data “spots” packed a lot more densely onto a standard-size disc., dvd, Blu-Ray disks, dvd, are designed to carry up to 50GB of digital material, which may mean that Sony wins the compression, dvd, competition.
The Early, dvd, Rounds
Sony Pictures released the first six films on Blu-Ray, dvd, disks in June of this year, and have released a few more since. Samsung has a Blu-Ray DVD player in the stores, while Sony’s hardware, dvd, division has released a Blu-Ray compatible PC. Toshiba has its initial HDDVD player on the market and there are a limited number of titles available in the format, mostly re-releases of previous first-run features.
Sony clearly jumped out to an early lead, with support from Dell, HP, Mitsubishi and a number of other hardware manufacturers. In addition, Sony Pictures also owns Columbia and MGM, giving them an enormous library to work with. Sony will, dvd, also fold its technology into the PlayStation,, dvd, dvd, 3 gaming machine, their proprietary product whose 2nd version rules the roost in the videogame, dvd,, dvd, market.
On the Toshiba side of the battlefield, proponents argue that the HDDVD disks will be cheaper to produce and that it will be comparatively easy for disk replicators to retrofit their equipment for production purposes. The HDDVD format also makes production of recordable DVDs much simpler than with the Blu-Ray design.
Further, an, dvd, alliance with Microsoft will, dvd, be a formidable, dvd, edge in, dvd, this battle, should it turn into a protracted conflict. Microsoft’s operating systems are going, dvd, to be important cogs in the development of future home viewing, dvd, systems, as the technology moves closer to merging the functions of computers and televisions. If movie downloads, dvd, become a commercial success, PC compatibility will be critical for these disks.
The Consumer Issues
One of the reasons that Microsoft aligned with Toshiba’s technology is that HDDVD provides for “mandatory managed copy.” What that means is that unlike with today’s conventional DVDs,, dvd, managed, dvd, copy allows consumers to make,, dvd, dvd, legitimate copies of their HD movies and enjoy this content around the home or across their personal networks. Making this feature mandatory will ensure a consistent consumer experience across all next-generation DVD content.
Then there is the element of iHD, which is the concept, dvd, of maximizing high definition video for transport across the internet. This is a specific set of, dvd, video specs which the iHD.org, a group of tech and media companies, is pushing as a cross-platform standard.
The theory is that next-generation HD movies will provide a level of interactive experience well beyond that of today’s, dvd, conventional DVDs. iHD technology is meant to provide a broad foundation to enable new interactivity with standards-based development tools and technologies.
The pitch, dvd, for this standard is that it will provide consumers with enhanced content, navigation and functionality for HD films. The business reality, dvd, is that Microsoft plans to implement iHD support in its Windows, dvd, Vista operating, dvd, system, which will not only be a significant step towards integrated video and computer systems but will make help drive adoption of the new Microsoft platform.
Duel to the Death Unlikely
There is some indication that all of these conflicting issues may ultimately force a compromise – some sort of merger or unification of the two technologies. Hardware manufacturers are hedging, dvd,, dvd, their bets, with the latest wrinkle being that Blu-Ray-aligned Hewlett Packard has requested that mandatory managed copy and the iHD standard be included in Blu-Ray’s feature set. So, like, I haven’t written for a few days because on Monday I tried to blackra1n my iPod touch which went mega fail, and then after waiting a day for our months’ wireless broadband speed to reset again, I had to download the iPod touch/iPhone 3.1.2 OS update again to restore my iPod, and after that my iPod was all, you guessed it, – reset! And empty

So I had to resync it, re-add all my songs, apps, photos, and when I added the WordPress app which is now called WordPress 2, it wouldn’t log me in properly, coming up with the annoying message; Communication Error: Bad Username or Password. I’m sure I am not the only one that got stuck with that problem, I’m sure many are probly still stuck on it. I however always end up googling things I don’t know and so I ended up finding a site that informed me: the WordPress app tells you to type your URL in the format: example.wordpress.com, however you need to write the format as www.example.wordpress.com and then it works fine

So here I am at long last

I’ve also been rather sick since Wednesday, think it’s the common cold, had the ghastliest throat the other day (Wednesday)! not fun. I’m seeing better days at the moment though, hoping I’ll be fine tomorrow finally.

The first thing we tried is restoring a backup of the ldap folder. This backup can be found at: ../domain-name/server/adminserver/data/ldap/backup/ and should be restored at ../domain-name/server/adminserver/data/ldap/ldapfiles.

When this was not working, we kept looking and stumbled upon a site that told us that this error could be caused when the volume that contains these files is running full. WebLogic will corrupt these files. And the solution is to add ‘replica.num=0′ to the ../domain-name/server/adminserver/data/ldap/config/replicas.prop file. Or just remove this file..

Nowadays everything is in video format. We’ve of course got tons of video uploading sites, such as YouTube, Google Video, Revver, Blip.tv, but we also use it for a lot, not just entertainment. We use it to learn and to teach, for example. And lastly, it’s more and more present these days, what with mobile devices and general portability. We like to carry videos around on our iPods or BlackBerrys.

But sometimes you find an obscure video format, or one that your device isn’t compatible with, and that’s when you get trouble. You need a converter.

And because of this impending crabbiness I have a few things to complain about…

1. People asking me when Mike and I are getting married. We are fine. I am 25. I don’t think we need to be married at this point. I have decided when people ask me this, I am just going to say: “would you like to PAY for said wedding? And maybe in 5 years pay for the divorce?” I don’t get it. Do people just want you to be married because they are? Do they just want a free meal? I dunno, with the divorce rate being what it is now, I think I’ll opt not to rush. 

2. Facebook. Yes, I do love it. Yes, I amuse myself checking out pictures and commenting on people’s updates. But COME ON PEOPLE. I don’t need pregnancy updates. I don’t need “OMGILOVEMYHUSBANDSOMUCH” updates. I don’t need, “I am now at Target. Soon I will be at Best Buy” updates. Some shit is meant to be private. Like your ultrasound picture. Show your family, show your friends, not me who you haven’t seen in 12 years. I also don’t need up to the minute updates on where you are spending your Saturday.  Yes, I am being bitchy. And no, I don’t care. *Thanks to my dear friend V for pointing all this insanity out. Now I can’t stop searching for it!

3. ESPN. What the hell ESPN? Your commentators are ANNOYING or completely IGNORANT. Were you always this bad? I couldn’t even WATCH the Cavs vs. Knicks game because it turned into a Lebron commentary. Which normally I don’t mind, if it is not taking away from the game or taking him away from Cleveland.  And with the shows? I swear it’s just a bunch of arrogant, rich ex-players shouting across the table at each other about who is better. Maybe I’m just bitter, but these guys just flat out ANNOY me now. And Jeff Van Gundy? Please shut up.

4. My school projects. My life has been consumed by three deadlines on Monday the 16th. I am not finished. I will be spending my weekend working on these.  I JUST WANT TO BE DONE. And yes, I like research, I don’t like busy work. I cannot wait for this semester to be over.

5. Money. What the hell money? Why are you never enough? I’ve succeeded in building a little savings over the past few months, trust me, nothing substantial, but something. I just don’t see how people are able to sock away thousands. And I’m tired of people saying “cut something out of your life”, I don’t have anything else to cut out! I like the internet on my phone. I like shopping. And I like food and paying my bills. I am not buying Prada. So where is my money?

6. Websites changing their layouts. CNN sucks now. And I HATE the new Yahoo.  Annoying.

7. Newsweek. I think I may need to breakup with Newsweek. I have been a subscriber for over 7 years. It is now 30 pages long. Filled with NOTHING. I don’t know what happened to it. But I don’t like it.

8. Random anxiety for no reason. WHAT GIVES? Hate it. It comes out of nowhere and hangs out. It sits. I try to get rid of it, and still it sits. UGH.

I think this is all I can complain about for the day. : )

Structure is everything in songwriting; without structure, you’ve got a song that listeners just won’t understand and can’t get into. It’s why we talk so much about the form of a song. An easily discernible form makes it more likely that listeners will remember a song. Because song forms aren’t usually unique (often, some variation on the verse-chorus-bridge format), it’s the method, or formula, you use that will make your song distinctive or not.

If you start the composition process the same way every time, you may notice a “sameness” in the results. If you’re looking to be unique, you need to break out and find new methods of putting a song together.

For example, with students of mine who start the songwriting process with a chord progression, I notice a similar backing rhythm and tempo in all their songs, coupled with what sounds at times to be an uninteresting melodic shape. Those who start with interesting poetry often place the emphasis there, and other song elements can feel disorganized.

Where you place your focus at the start of the process can often determine how the song proceeds from there. And that is where the sameness can happen.

It’s important to note that there is no one right way to start a song, and that’s actually the point of this posting. As there is no one right way, you will reap the benefits of starting your next song differently from the last song you wrote. By choosing a unique way to start your song, you have a better hope of developing a new songwriting formula. And that new formula will likely take you in a unique direction.

If you feel comfortable starting your songs with the chords, and then adding the other elements, it’s time to break out and try something new. Try creating a melody that has shape and direction, and you’ll likely notice that that melody is implying an underlying chord structure you never considered before, and you’ve just started something unique!

Songwriting partnerships are a great way to ensure that you have a better chance of creating something fresh and distinctive. Two or more people throwing ideas into the pot may seem complicated and frustrating, but if you’ve got a partnership where all partners treat each other’s ideas with respect, you’ve got the potential for something great to happen. And in my opinion, some of the best songs in the world have come from these kind of partnerships.

È stato eletto il mio giurato preferito, sembra un po’ Pippo ed è infatti molto, troppo buono. Bretone, pianista, ha selezionato tre cantanti sfigati per non farli soffrire, che già tanto avevano sofferto. Proprio per questo (e per il fatto che Cerrone lo punzecchia sempre) io tiferò per lui.

È il primo caso umano di Alain Lanty. Ha 45 anni ma a vederla ne butteremmo là una dozzina di più. È anche un po’ oltre il peso forma. Ed è di Marsiglia. E fa la badante. Come se non bastasse la voce è imperfetta e la Zenatti, che è acida, la desteta, mentre Cerrone la ignora, visto che è una delle due persone al mondo che non si farebbe.
