Wow, it has been a long time since I’ve blogged on WordPress. Ever since I’ve quit my job at the veterinary clinic and started working for my dad, my days have been a constant reminder of how bland my life is. Bland, but with a higher salary. Some days I want to stab myself in the foot for having to put up with my dad and then I start thinking of how much he’s given me. Ugh, guilt.

So here I am, sitting in my trendy new Ikea desk chair (because my mom referred to my old chair as “disgusting”) in all my 22 year old glory. Did I just say that? I did in fact turn 22 years old on Monday and to be perfectly honest I don’t like the fact that I’m not 21 anymore. 21 is the perfect number, the perfect age to pause my life. I know, I’m being dramatic and 22 is still young. The fact that I’m just going to get older and older gives me indigestion. I’ll try not to think about it.

To sum up my November (or my life) here’s a list.
1. I took my first trip with Franco to San Francisco in September. I think it was the best three days of my life. Not only did I experience freedom, I actually fell in love with San Francisco. I’m going back and no one can stop me.
2. “Is there a fast forward button on life until November?” Apparently, there wasn’t. New Moon finally came out on the 19th, and it was the first movie I’ve ever waited in line for more than an hour. We’re talking five hours of cold wind and lack of sleep just to oogle a vampire and a werewolf for two hours. I usuallynever stay up past 1am, I am so proud of myself.
3. I turned 22, but we don’t need to emphasize that.
4. Most importantly, I got an iPhone! I finally switched from that god-awful T-Mobile service to AT&T and I love it. I get reception in places T-Mobile wouldn’t. My iPhone is fabulous, I’ve been nose to screen for two weeks and I still can’t get enough. “What apps to download next?” “When should I buy my next case? And what color?” “Should I buy more ringtones on iTunes?” What is wrong with me? I’ve definitely come down with the iPhone syndrome and I don’t want to be cured.

So there you have it. I didn’t do a complete summary of the past 4 months, but we’ll catch up. Hopefully, I decide to blog more and won’t completely abandon my WordPress, I’d hate to see it die just like all my other blogs. I have so much here that I can read back on and laugh about. Llevo ya demasiado tiempo cortándome de enlazar artículos de Pío Moa, porque si empiezo, no acabo. Sin embargo, tras la siniestra jornada de hoy, con el editorial conjunto de la prensa catalana en pleno, no espero más y declaro inaugurada la sección de memoria histórica.

Empezamos a todo gas, con una batería de artículos de Pío Moa, que narran acontecimientos de hace ochenta años, pero que venimos reviviendo en clave contemporánea, especialmente desde la siniestra jornada del 14-M.

No se trata de una declaración de intenciones, ni de panfletos, como he escuchado miles de veces antes de acercarme a sus sorprendentes artículos. Pío Moa ha dedicado, con rotundo éxito historiográfico, importantes esfuerzos a la tarea de desmontar todos los mitos que la izquierda ha desplegado.

No ha logrado asímismo calar en la población, ni en la élite intelectual, controlada por la izquierda. Para la progresía, Moa es el mismo demonio. Auténtico vade retro de la izquierda. Y a día de hoy, sin el visto bueno de la izquierda mediática, nada puede calar en la sociedad. El de Pío Moa es un ejercicio de memoria histórica sin filtros ideológicos. Moa disecciona el fenómeno y a sus actores con distancia de entomólogo, y el resultado es asombroso.

Sin embargo, sus libros se leen con comodidad y asombro. Comodidad, porque su estilo directo y organizado hacen difícil que se pierda el hilo. Además, y tristemente, el paralelismo clarísimo entre los hechos previos a la guerra civil y nuestros días, sólo facilita más la lectura de los hechos. De lo cual viene el asombro al detectar tal paralelismo.

Éste artículo sirve de introducción al trabajo del autor, que lleva años enfrascado en una rigurosa revisión, una relectura en perspectiva, incluso, de la guerra civil española, y sobre todo, de los años previos al conflicto. Pinche sobre el encabezado para acceder al artículo completo.

A continuación ofrezco una serie de artículos del autor, que dibujan los años previos al conflicto definitivo. Faltaría, para redondear la colección, el marco social que incluye en la introducción de su obra “El Derrumbe de la Segunda República y la Guerra Civil”, pero no contamos con transcripción alguna. Todos los actores importantes (la izquierda catalana, los nacionalismos vasco y catalán, el PC/PSOE, la Monarquía, la derecha, la Iglesia) están representados hoy día por personajes más o menos análogos a los actuales, y que se comportan con maneras muy parecidas.

Por tanto, los hechos, en muchas ocasiones, parecen calcados a los actuales, casan perfectamente con la evolución histórica más reciente de España, especialmente desde la llegada de Zapatero a la Moncloa, hace ya un larguísimo lustro. Por supuesto, las diferencias son evidentes, pero resaltan con claridad los hechos coincidentes con la actualidad.

So, before I start this rant, I will say right now that this has nothing to do with my year abroad. Not even in the slightest.

Today, back in Lancaster, is voting day. They have finally introduced an online voting system, which is great. I managed to vote from France – you can’t get better than that [maybe the moon?]. But, the issue lies not in the way in which you vote, but in your options for voting. I was shocked to find that for big positions, Bowland President for example, there was only one candidate. This sounds pretty similar to the system that Franco used when he was in power: “You can vote for whoever you want. So long as it’s one of our approved candidates.” That said, I don’t think these single candidate posts are anyway like the Franco system, and are not to blame because of dictatorialism. It is mainly due to voter apathy. It is all well and good voting, but if you have no choice but to vote for one candidate – or indeed ron – then, you are limited. It is just really frustrating to see this. It is such a joke. The first box I clicked on for example : So-and-so or ron. This is not democracy, and it is not fair.

Rant over. I voted ron.

Thanksgiving found the residents of Port Charles gathering to spend the holiday with family and friends, and I for one couldn’t be happier. With all of the craziness going on in the harbor town, it’s nice to know that like most of us, that the same things matter to our favorite residents. Most of us love traditions, and it was a gift from the writers to have them honoring Thanksgiving Day traditions.

We also gather together as fans today…whether you plan to watch the rerun of last week’s Franco Debut or will spend a few minutes online watching old clips, our love for and loyalty to our favorite soap brings us together. We’re thankful that Port Charles is still a fictional town we can find distraction in, as the same canot be said for Springfield or Sunset Beach or some other ghost towns in Soap Land. We’re thankful that our favorite actors and actresses still find their work enough of a challenge that they haven’t moved on to something else. We’re thankful for General Hospital and what it brings to our lives.

My Favorite Moments Among Those Who Gathered Together…

* THANKSGIVING PIZZA I love that the Quartermaines got together for their traditional pizza meal! This is the family responsible for so many of the people and the stories still keeping us entertained. They deserve to be honored by traditional storytelling, and I’m thankful to the GH Writers for doing that.

* Luke Spencer’s ANTI-WARM & FUZZY MOMENT “The thought of spending the day with a kind, loving family made me lose my appetite…so I came here!” Oh, Luke! You are just too funny! I’m glad to see that I am not the only one who still loves the dysfunction of the Quartermaines.

* Edward Quartermaine singing “We Gather Together” Am I the only one who still gets choked up? It’s such a sweet moment, and even if the rest of his family chooses not to acknowledge it, I know that it reminds them of all they’ve loved and lost over the years. (Farewell again, Natalia Livingston!) It also makes me thankful that John Ingle (Edward) is still with us, I can’t imagine the Q’s without him.

* The Spencers Making the Q’s “Family” I thought it was sweet that Lulu and Ethan chose to spend the day with Luke and that they consider the Quartermaines family. It was really nice to see the Quartermaine Mansion full on Thanksgiving again…loud and boisterous is what they do best.

* The Scorpios/Drakes/Davis Thanksgiving  As awkward as it may have been at some moments (Lisa the ex arriving with Matt), I thought the idea was cute, and I thought it provided us the magic of another longtime GH family (The Scorpios) making connections with today’s generation of GH families. I loved that Sam and Robin are friendly and working together, I loved that Sam took time for her sisters and her mom on such a family day, (Though I have comforted myself with the idea that Sam brings Jason dessert, or just a can of whipped cream, the MINUTE she’s done with the family stuff) and I loved that she made the crack about STILL not knowing who her dad was.  I love when GH gives a nod to the past while still dropping us hints about the future! I loved Mac trying to bail, and Molly racing Alexis to the other side of the table so that Alexis would have to sit next to Mac. I like the thought of Mac and Alexis together! I think John J. York is too wonderful to be seen only at the PCPD occasionally, and I loved him as a romantic! I’m excited about what’s coming!

* MAXIE”S MORNING AFTER I love that Maxie is struggling so deeply with the remorse of what she did with Franco. Every choice has a consequence, and it’s good to know that Maxie has learned at least that much. I love that she was SICK with regret…hopefully she’s learned a couple more SECRETS TO LIFE. I also love that Spinelli showed us all what real love looks like. Whather you’re a fan of Spinelli and Maxie or not, Spinelli represents what’s good and pure in Maxie’s life, and it was so sweet to see him come in to  try to right what was wrong for her with the innocense of turkey soup and tissues. Since it’s Thanksgiving, I choose not to dwell on the impending doom…

*Max Drops His Pants…Literally Oh boy! Were those scenes funny? Both Carolyn Hennessey and Derk Cheetwood are hysterical! I love that they’re back together, I love when Diane calls him “flexible” and I LOVED when he dorpped his pants! Lucky are the Steve Burton fans that will get to see all three of them at Steve’s PA Event! They really are FANTASTIC!

*Morgan Saves Thanksgiving! I absolutely loved Aaron Revfem as Morgan! Did you see his facial expression when Jax suggested they take his car? He is really a natural! I loved the whole sabatoge storyline, and Morgan was right. It was exactly the stuff Michael used to pull, except Morgan is sweeter. I like that Morgan sees Jax and Carly as home, and I’m glad he knows how important business is to Sonny. Those two things may save Morgan from the unfortunate fate his brother Michael is facing. I thought the scene where M&M high-five each other was adorable! It also reminded me that Jax does love Carly and the boys and really just does the wrong things for the right reasons sometimes. He’s……human. It was a beautiful family moment.

*The Montage Scene  I’m a sucker for GH montages…I really am. (Though I can recommend a few of my YouTube buddies that can put together some montage scenes to be reckoned with) By the time that final scene where the Quartermaines wished us all a Happy Thanksgiving came on, I was crying! These are characters that have snuck their way into my heart over the past 30 or so years, and it’s nice when TPTB try to honor that.

I’ll end with being thankful for all of you, my fellow GHers, who take the time to read and occasionally comment me on my blog! It truly makes my day!

I wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving, and I pray that each of you is surrounded by those you are most thankful for. Have a wonderful holiday!

En Venezuela siempre han existido pequeños grupos de tendencia nazista. En sus oficinas privadas hay fotografías de Hitler, Mussolini y Franco. Hoy se sienten representado por el Partido Popular español. El bigotito de José María Aznar se le parece a Hitler. El PP aunque lo consideran demasiado democrático, es la organización donde se sienten más a gusto.

Se afirma que el niño López fue miembro de la asociación Tradición, Familia y Propiedad. Un grupo que el Gobierno tuvo que clausurar porque adoctrinaba de tal manera a los jóvenes que los colocaban en contra de sus padres. También en Venezuela existió la juventud neonazi. Eran niños tatuados en el cerebro con símbolos fascistas. Estudiaban en universidades privadas y muchos recalaron en COPEI.

El niño López es la expresión moderna de ese pensamiento que por trasnochado no deja de ser peligroso. Se viste con el ropaje de la democracia y manipula con frases edulcoradas que hacen meloso el lenguaje y con altavoces bien pagados, se hace escuchar al punto que terminan pensando por usted. Para eso tienen a sus Kicos y comparsas. Hasta avezados dirigentes formados en las luchas políticas cuando había que sacar el pecho y pelear igualmente con las ideas, se han plegado a tan infausta negación de la sociedad democrática. El excremento del Diablo o la grasa que mueve al mundo.

El niño López quiere un partido donde sea el único quien piense y ordene, porque él es el que mejor piensa. Se parece al otro. Por eso no aguantó ni en Primero Justicia ni en Un Nuevo Tiempo. Carla Ángola le preguntó cual era la razón de su separación de ambas organizaciones y él, pausado, le contestó que no había encontrado democracia en esos partidos. Y Carla dijo que lindo. Mejor le hubiese quedado: insensibles…

Venezuela es como un cuero seco que al pisarlo por un lado, se levanta por el otro. Más de uno en Miraflores han comprobado la realidad de la frase de Guzmán Blanco. En el niño López no hay guáramo para ni siquiera rozar el cuero…

WHAT MAKES THIS ART?

1) FRANCO – Sweet Heaven! That smile alone is a work of art, but when you admire the whole package: the sexy voice, the bedroom eyes, the intensity…you realize that James Franco is a freakin’ MASTERPIECE! We have been counting down the weeks, the days, the hours…and OHHHHH boy, was he ever worth it! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIS EVERY SCENE! In fact, I was smiling, giggling, screaming, or forgetting to breath throughout the whole episode! IF THAT ISN’T ART…WHAT IS?

2) ORIGINALITY – I’m a lifelong soap watcher, which means I’ve seen just about every possible SWEEPS storyline ever written. I’ve gotta tell you, this hasn’t been done. I have to give the GH Writers  a whole lot of credit. Bob Guza, Headwriter, has written each and every Franco scene himself, but the show ALL AROUND has been quite the backdrop for Franco’s story. The writing team has done an excellent job of not allowing the stories surrounding Franco’s scenes to fall flat. I thought yesterday’s episode was OUTSTANDING! Franco and Maxie’s scenes were RIVETING! The moment of hesitation when Franco asked Maxie to wear the blindfold? My pulse was racing a bit! Yet, when Maxie asks Franco to wear it, it took on a much different feeling. I LOVED THAT CONTRAST IN INTENSITY! And what about how Franco makes the little hairs on the back of our necks stand up one second, like when he was photographing Maxie in the chalk outline, and then makes us want to run our fingers through his hair the very next, like when he apologized to Maxie so seemingly repentant! Bravo, Mr. Guza! This oh-so-sexy Jekyll and Hyde spin is HOT! But I’d be remiss if I didn’t clarify that ALL of the other scenes yesterday were equally engaging. Franco and Sonny – sooooo good, and oh so original to the characters. Franco and Luke – comical! Franco and Max and Milo – c’mon! That was good stuff! And when Jason and Sam walked in and got Franco’s attention, I could feel his obsession. I couldn’t look away! Props to Ms. Michele Val Jean for her contribution yesterday! THIS IS WHAT WRITING EMMYS ARE MADE OF!

3) WORKING RELATIONSHIPS It’s always a step in the right direction when you tune into LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON! Lately, GH has turned it completely around and has given us couples to root for again. It’s sublime! Case in point: Jason and Sam are the cutest they’ve ever been while still being so sexy I find myself blushing, Luke and Tracy are so dysfunctional that they just work, Patrick and Robin remind us that “old married couples” can still have a night out that doesn’t include the baby section at Costco, and even Lulu and Dominic seemed to be having a good time once Lulu stopped talking about his COVER! Everything that’s old seems new again, and it’s truly a THING OF BEAUTY! I LOVE ROMANCE ON GH! Am I the only one?

4) PORT CHARLES FIVE-O Maybe all Lucky needed was a new look, I mean OUTLOOK, in order to get his detective skills going. He has been all over crime scenes like white on rice, and I think he may singlehandedly turn the PCPD around! If I were Jason, I’d step up my game a little bit. This isn’t the same Lucky Spencer…yes, that pun was totally intended; couldn’t help myself!

There is so much to love on our treasured General Hospital these days! Call up your friends and share the good news! Make sure everyone’s witnessing THE BEAUTY OF GH!

Tell me what you’re enjoying most!

I have spent the last fifteen minutes trying to figure out how I was going to write this post.  I find I often have this problem when I can’t sum up the events in short paragraphs.  So as usual instead of trying to recap/review in typical fashion I simply post my thoughts on that particular episode.  Which is exactly what I am going to do this time.  If I miss anything or you disagree with any of view points please feel free to point them out.  Either way I hope you enjoy it.

Franco – Um why is Franco on the floor?  Wait I know he probably threw his back out when he was positioning Joey Limbo and he is trying to stretch it out.  No?  Oh well it was a guess.  Oh he was trying to picture how a murdered guy would fall!  Why didn’t I see that?  Stupid me.

Jason – “Where too?”  The first of many moments that just made me chuckle.  Surprisingly enough this won’t be the first time Jason makes me smile just for being his self.  They really should allow Steve Burton to be the funny straight man more often.  I picture him as a Felix man.

JaSam – Why will no one believe that you are going to an Art show simply because you want to and not because you need an alibi?  Well, and I am just pointing this out, it may be because by the time you show up there the shooting will have occurred at least an hour before your alibi is established.  Just an observation on my part.

Lulu & Dante – “Let me guess you need an alibi?”  I just love them two.

Olivia – Do I tell?  Don’t I tell?  I need guidance.  Sonny to the rescue.  I think that is an oxymoron but I am not positive.

Maxie & Franco – “Pompous Twit”  Leave it to Maxie to put her foot in her mouth.  If this scene is a shape of things to come I have a feeling I am going to love these two together.

Scrubs – So Franco was big in Paris 5 years ago.  So we are expected to believe he has been a famous artist since I am guessing his early 20s.  Oh yeah that’s realistic.  Pretty sure Robin & Patrick were only in Monday’s episode to point out the obvious fact that no one would be able to believe Jason & Sonny would be there willingly.  I hope we get some more Scrubs action soon.

Lucy – I wonder if my new nickname for Luke & Tracy will catch on?  Of course Luke would like any one who he thinks is twisted.

Sonny & Olivia – “I’m the victim”  Sonny you make me laugh so.

Lulu & Dante – “Do you get a headache from all that over thinking?”  I love it when GH instills a little comedy into the scene and so far we are hitting gold.

Sam & Lucky – Now Sam is a good girlfriend because she actually thinks she can get Jason out of questioning.  Foolish girl. 

Jason & Lucky – “Why not you always do”  Uh duh because you always are the shooter, stupid.

Maxie & Franco & Luke – Yes Maxie that is the weird artist you have been freaking out about.  I never knew Tic-Tac-Toe was considered art.  Well it is in the eye of the beholder.  Tony enough with the over acting.  He gets it you are a big star.  Tone it down some.

Franco & Maxie – He is looking at Maxie like he wants to gobble her up.  Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing in his case.

Dante – I wonder how long it will take him to figure out the photos are reenactments of past crimes. 

Lucky & Jason – Some one out there is more Stone Cold than Jason is.  That should make him feel good about himself.  I probably shouldn’t hope that Lucky will actually get to solve this case.  Because I know they will just have Jason do it.  Maybe they should just go ahead and make him a cop.

Luke & Franco – Violence sells & look at Luke he is trying to act all big and bad.  He’s so cute.  Still over-acting though.  Someone get him away from JF now before he busts a blood vessel.  Good thing KS can hold her own and isn’t acting like a nervous twit. 

 Max & Milo – I shouldn’t find it funny that they are discussing how the guy was murdered, right?

Franco – Really seems to be enjoying all the assumptions being made about him & his “art”

Tracy – “Dreary, blood soaked, & pretensious”  you just gotta love the way Tracy just says exactly what she thinks about people.

Spinelli & Lulu & Dante – “Ouch” my sentiments exactly.  Who wants to hear that their gf didn’t even realize they weren’t there.

JaSam – “You gonna leave me?”  There Jason goes being funny again.  He can handle bullets flying at him, but an art show?  No way!

Franco & Maxie – Damn Franco is hitting on Maxie hardcore.

Franco & Sonny – Are hitting it off like gang busters.  Well of course he reads you well, Franco, he has killed before.  Why is JF squinting so much?  Does he need glasses or does he think it makes him look more sinister?

 Franco & Maxie – “I love coffee, introduce me”  and then maybe you can go out and toss a football around with your muse you lucky guy you.

Maxie & Jason & Sam – “Can you go with him in case he does something stupid like act like himself”  See Jason not everybody thinks you are a god to be worshipped.

Franco – Who in the hell came up with that lame ass wave?

Luke & Sonny – Poor Luke his friend (that no one knew he had) was killed.  Sonny you may not want to piss off Luke. 

Franco & Maxie – Girl when a strange man who thinks murder is art it might not be a good idea to let him blind fold you.  ”Creeps with blind folds” KS just throws those funny lines away like a pro. 

Jason & Sam & Spinelli – Oh no he’s waving!!!

Maxie & Franco – Ew is she a part of a fake crime scene?  Now that’s just creepy.  I know the slap was fake but damn it looked like it hurt.

Dante & Lulu – I wonder if the one photo is a recreation of the cop from his childhood?  If it is damn that is frakked up.  You just know that Lulu is starting to get a bit irritated that every time she turns around Dante has left her side.

Maxie & Franco – “You called me a sick freak and a pervert” “In a respectful way”  I know JF won’t be on very long but I am really loving these two.  Watch out Franco it’s Maxie’s turn to play games.

Well that’s it for my thoughts and reactions on Monday’s episode.  As was to be expected JF’s second full episode was focused mainly around him.  I have to admit I am wondering how all this is going to play out.

Confruntarile dintre sindicate si guvern impinsesera Austria in pragul razboiului civil. La Viena, Philby lucra pentru Organizatia Internationala de Sprijin Muncitoresc (MOPR). In secret, facea pe curierul pentru Partidul Comunist Austriac, aflat in ilegalitate. In timpul unei intruniri clandestine, Philby a vazut-o pentru prima oara pe Litzy Friedmann. A fost imediat cucerit de frumoasa bruneta, recent divortata. Pasiunea a fost reciproca. Multi ani mai tarziu, Litzy i-a povestit fiicei ei: “Era cu doi ani mai tanar ca mine… abia absolvise Cambridge-ul si era un barbat foarte chipes. Se purta ca un gentleman. Si era marxist. O combinatie rara. Schiopata usor, uneori mai vizibil, alteori mai putin. Ca multe dintre persoanele cu handicap, era foarte fermecator. Ne-am indragostit imediat.” Cei doi s-au casatorit in februarie 1934. Trei luni mai tarziu, Kim Philby se intorcea la Londra, insotit de proaspata lui sotie.

Racolarea

Barbara Honigmann sustine ca Philby ar fi fost racolat de NKVD abia dupa 1935, prin intermediul unui alt eminent absolvent de Cambridge, Douglas McLean. Mama sa i-ar fi marturisit acest lucru, comentand: “Englezii erau asa de naivi, asa de naivi”. Documente din arhivele sovietice, date publicitatii dupa detectarea deja celebrului Vasili Mitrohin, spun insa, o cu totul alta poveste.

Dragostea pentru Litzy l-a aruncat pe Philby direct in bratele spionajului sovietic. Potrivit “Arhivei lui Mitohin” (Allen Lane, the Penguin Press, Londra,1999), Litzy Friedmann fusese deja racolata de NKVD in 1933, la fel ca si buna sa prietena, Edith Suschitscky. Amandoua se aflau in legatura lui Arnold Deutsch (alias “Stefan”, alias “Otto”), si el evreu austriac, cel mai talentat “vanator de talente” pentru spionajul sovietic din epoca interbelica. In urmatorii ani, Deutsch avea sa racoleze celebra “celula de la Cambridge”.

In toamna lui 1933, Edith Suschitscky s-a maritat si ea cu un englez, doctorul Alex Tudor Hart si l-a urmat la Londra. Hart fusese si el racolat de Deutsch. El si Edith au primit – impreuna – numele conspirativ “Strela” (“Sageata”).

In mai 1934, Kim si Litzy Philby soseau si ei in Marea Britanie. Spre marea bucurie a lui Edith Suschitscky, care isi regasea astfel nu doar o veche prietena de la Viena, ci si o “tovarasa de lupta”. Aproape in acelasi timp se instalase la Londra si Arnold Deutsch.

Se pare ca Edith Suschitscky a fost cea care i-a atras atentia lui Deutsch asupra “potentialului” tanarului Philby. Cert este ca ea a intermediat prima intalnire “conspirativa” intre cei doi, in iunie 1934, pe o banca din Regent’s Park. Intrevederea a fost un succes. Philby a fost cucerit imediat de inteligenta si farmecul interlocutorului sau, un intelectual rafinat care se bucura deja de un imens prestigiu in mediile academice. Psiholog abil, Deutsch a speculat idealismul tanarului sau recrut. L-a invitat sa se alature razboiului secret lansat de Komintern impotriva fascismului, aflat in ascensiune in Europa. Prima sa misiune: sa rupa orice legaturi vizibile cu miscarile comuniste. “Avem nevoie de oameni care sa infiltreze In institutiile burgheze”, a explicat Deutsch. Kim Philby s-a angajat sa o faca.

Un debut anevoios

Au urmat trei ani dificili. Litzy a fost primita cu ostilitate fatisa de familia sotului ei. Ea i-a povestit, decenii mai tarziu, fiicei sale: “Mama lui Kim nu putea sa ma sufere. Era oripilata de mariajul nostru, pe care il considera o cumplita mezalianta. Singurul ei fiu sa se insoare cu o comunista evreica din Viena – ce cosmar!” Intre timp, Kim se straduia din rasputeri sa-si faca uitate vechile convingeri marxiste si sa isi croiasca o cariera in diplomatie. Fara succes. Cererile sale de a fi angajat la Foreign Office au fost respinse. Trecutul marxist si nevasta “atipica” nu erau bine vazute de “establishmentul” britanic. Abia a reusit sa obtina o slujba la o obscura publicatie lunara de orientare liberala, “Review of Reviews”. Mult sub asteptarile la care ar fi fost indreptatit un eminent absolvent de Cambridge.

La indemnul lui Arnold Deutsch, Philby s-a inscris intr-o organizatie de prietenie anglo-germana, botezata de Churchill, in epoca, “Brigada Heil Hitler”. Initiativa s-a dovedit un esec din punct de vedere informational. Philby era din ce in ce mai demoralizat.

In aceasta perioada, singurele sale contributii in favoarea spionajului sovietic au constat in identificarea altor potentiali “recruti” pentru Arnold Deutsch. El a fost cel care i-a recomandat pe Donald McLean si Guy Burgess, doi eminenti absolventi de la Cambridge. Impreuna cu Philby, Anthony Blunt si John Cairncross (racolati abia in 1937), vor intra in istoria spionajului sub denumirea de “Cei cinci magnifici”.

Razboiul din Spania

Cariera de agent sovietic a lui Kim Philby a inceput sa ia avant abia incepand cu anul 1937, dupa izbucnirea razboiului civil din Spania. Philby si-a oferit serviciile unei agentii de presa londoneze.

In februarie 1937, plecat corespondent in Spania, ca jurnalist independent, platit la bucata, pentru fiecare material transmis. In realitate, Philby avea alte prioritati, in afara gazetariei. “Sarcina mea era aceea de a obtine informatii la prima mana cu privire la orice aspecte ale efortului fascist de razboi”, avea sa noteze el, peste ani, in Memoriile sale. Potrivit “Arhivei lui Mitrohin” misiunea lui Philby fusese, in realitate, mult mai ambitioasa. El primise instructiuni sa-l asasineze pe generalul Francisco Franco, liderul fortelor nationaliste. Ordinul venise de la Moscova si fusese aprobat, cu siguranta, de insusi Stalin. Un ordin care i-a lasat probabil perplecsi pe controlorii de la Londra ai lui Philby. Acestia au avertizat, imediat, conducerea NKVD ca misiunea depaseste cu mult puterile tanarului lor recrut.

Philby s-a intors la Londra in mai 1937, fara sa-l fi vazut vreodata de-aproape pe Franco. “Era foarte deprimat”, se preciza intr-o nota informativa a NKVD. A reusit insa sa se angajeze la “Times” si sa se intoarca in Spania. Spre sfarsitul anului, un incident tragic avea sa-i aduca celebritatea. Masina in care calatorea impreuna cu alti corespondenti de razboi a fost lovita de o salva de artilerie. Trei jurnalisti au murit. Philby a scapat cu rani usoare si a scris un reportaj cutremurator. A devenit, peste noapte, un adevarat erou. Toate usile au inceput sa i se deschida. La 2 martie 1938, a fost decorat de insusi Franco. Intre timp insa, NKVD-ul renuntase la planul de a-l asasina pe liderul spaniol.

Litzy, omul de legatura intre Philby si Moscova

Barbara Honigmann dezvaluie in cartea sa ca mama ei a fost cea care, in timpul razboiului din Spania, a facut legatura intre Kim Philby si spionajul sovietic. La ordinele Moscovei, Litzy (care primise numele conspirativ “Maria”) se instalase la Paris. Calatorea, insa frecvent, pentru a-si intalni sotul in hoteluri din Biarritz, Perpignan sau Gibraltar. Relatiile dintre cei doi devenisera din ce in ce mai mult “profesionale”. Philby era un fustangiu notoriu, sau, cum ii placea sa se descrie, “un atlet al sexului”. La Paris, Litzy incepuse o aventura cu un sculptor olandez. Amandoi aveau o conceptie cat se poate de neconventionala despre casnicie. Totusi, la izbucnirea celui de-al doilea razboi mondial, Kim si Litzy s-au intors la Londra, ca sot si sotie. Philby a primit imediat un post in cadrul Sectiei D a SIS (Secret Intelligence Service), sectie care se ocupa cu organizarea de “actiuni subversive in spatele liniilor inamice”. Incepea, astfel, o prodigioasa cariera in cadrul serviciilor britanice de informatii. O adevarata mana cereasca pentru Moscova.

In septembrie 1941, Kim Philby a fost transferat la Sectia V -de contrainformatii – a SIS. Sediul ei se afla la St. Albans, la doar cativa metri de imobilul care adapostea arhivele operative. Imprietenindu-se cu arhivarul, mare amator de gin, Philby a reusit in numai cateva luni sa fotocopieze si sa trimita la Moscova dosarele tuturor agentilor britanici din strainatate. Ceea ce, paradoxal, i-a atras neincrederea mai marilor din NKVD. Acestia nu puteau crede ca englezii nu dispun de o retea de spionaj in Uniunea Sovietica. Ca nu exista nici macar o rezidenta la Moscova. Si totusi acesta era adevarul. Spionajul britanic avea cu totul alte prioritati, fiind canalizat exclusiv pe efortul de razboi. Rusii erau aliati si tratati ca atare. Cert este ca, pana in 1944, Moscova a fost extrem de reticenta fata de Philby si de ceilalti “magnifici de la Cambridge”, crezandu-i “agenti provocatori”, controlati de Londra.

Epilog

Kim si Litzy Philby au divortat in 1942. Mariajul se incheiase, in realitate, de mult. Dupa razboi, Litzy a parasit definitiv Marea Britanie si s-a instalat in Berlinul de Est. S-a recasatorit cu jurnalistul de stanga, Georg Kohlmann, cu care a avut un copil, astazi scriitoarea Barbara Honigmann.

Kim Philby a cunoscut o spectaculoasa ascensiune profesionala, ajungand sa fie cea mai nociva cartita sovietica din istorie. A fost, pe rand, seful Sectiei a IX-a din cadrul SIS (contrainformatii pe spatiul sovietic), sef de antena in Turcia si ofiter de legatura la Washington. Declinul sau a inceput in 1951, odata cu deconspirarea lui Burgess si McLean, care au reusit sa se refugieze la Moscova. Philby avea sa fie deconspirat abia in 1963. Si el a reusit sa fuga, cu sprijinul sovieticilor. A murit la Moscova, in 1988, alcoolic si profund deprimat. Viata in URSS se dovedise cu totul altfel decat isi imaginase.

Litzy Friedmann-Philby-Kohlmann a murit in 1991, la varsta de 80 de ani. Isi pierduse de mult toate iluziile cu privire la comunism, cu toate ca in Germania de Est se bucurase de un statut privilegiat. Acest statut i-a permis, in 1984, sa calatoreasca la Viena. A plecat cu doua valize si nu s-a mai intors niciodata.

Diese Bemerkung hebt sich doch sehr wohltuend von der blinden Mohammedanisten-Begeisterung monarchistischer und nationalsozialistischer Kreise seinerzeit in Deutschland ab (1) – wiewohl der “Duce” (Führer, 2) im Gegensatz zu “El Caudillo” (Führer) Franco (3), der sein Land 36 Jahre lang diktatorisch im Würgegriff halten konnte, schon 1945 erschossen wurde. Vor ihm erschossen wurde Claretta Petacci (4), die nur eine von mehreren Geliebten des Scheusals war, und über die Wiki Anrührendes zu berichten weiß: “Als Mussolini gefangen genommen wurde, gab man Clara Petacci die Möglichkeit zur Flucht, aber sie lehnte ab und versuchte hingegen, ihn mit ihrem Körper vor den Kugeln zu schützen. Mussolini wurde kurz nach ihr erschossen.”

Nicht nur Faschisten werden hin und wieder geliebt, diese edelste aller Emotionen soll bisweilen sogar bei Mohammedanisten zu beobachten sein. Ayaan Hirsi Ali (5) suchte Familienmitglieder in einem Flüchtlingslager und erlebte folgende Szene:

“Mahamed sagte, Mahamuuds Frau sei ganz in der Nähe, und den Kindern gehe es gut. Er nahm seinen Bruder beim Arm, und wir gingen weiter. Mahamuuds Frau sah ihn schon von weitem und lief uns entgegen, um uns zu begrüßen. Als sie sich ihm in die Arme warf, brach sie in Tränen aus. Es war erste Mal, daß ich ein somalisches Ehepaar seine Liebe so offen zeigen sah. Sie umarmten sich, streichelten einander das Gesicht, weinten und ließen nicht los. Die Kinder kamen herbeigerannt und klammerten sich an die beiden. Es war ein sehr anrührender Moment der Freude und der Tränen, und Mahamed und ich wandten uns taktvoll ab.”

Ich möchte behaupten, daß der Counterjihad nicht in erster Linie ein Kampf gegen Menschen ist, sondern vor allem einer gegen eine bösartige Ideologie, die Menschen dazu bringt, Böses zu tun und dies für Gutes zu halten. Aber Menschen sind wir natürlich alle miteinander, und am Ende wartet auf uns alle der Sarg (Dem “Caudillo” ließ die Familie übrigens 1975 nach einem Herzinfarkt gemäß dem Motto “genug ist genug” die lebenserhaltenden Maschinen abstellen).

Auch wenn manche Mohammedanisten wissen, was Liebe ist, ist der Mohammedanismus gleichwohl eine Ideologie des Hasses, des Hasses auf sich selbst und des Hasses auf alle anderen, auf alles, was lebt, auf alles was ist – die stärkste und eindeutigste Manifestation aller Zeiten des Nihilismus und der Angst. Ali Sina (6): “But how can you move an inch if you are paralyzed by the fear of hell? That psychopath did a pretty good job on his followers. They are reduced into zombies unable to think on their own. It is fear that paralyzes you.”

Well, the flu made it to my house, and try as I might, getting thoughts together for my new favorite pastime (this blog) eluded me. I was, however, able to use my thumb to TWEET my excitement when I finally saw Franco in action outside of his Mad Hottie Studio. My Goodness! He is just YUMMMMMMY! I honestly started to feel better as I watched on Friday!

I am sooooooo thrilled about this storyline! The more I think about it, the more I feel James Franco deserves to “inherit” us soap fans as his fans when his run at GH is over. The buzz he has generated for the soap so dear to our hearts is really just amazing! I know I’ll be on the ticket line for his next movie…what about you?

Well, GHers, this week certainly had lots to talk about…Allow me to review the last few days so I can get it all off my chest.

Had I been able to write a post these past few days, I would have titled it…THE LIES WE TELL…OURSELVES.

Why? Because Port Charles is swarming with lies…and thus, liars. But I got to thinking as I watched each lying scene unfold, really the lies begin with the lie we must tell ourselves FIRST.

I have to begin with the(albeit weakening) pillar of Port Charles society. Elizabeth Webber is headed down a slippery slope. Problem is, she’s keeps walking back to the top of the slope to slide down AGAIN! 

The first lie Liz told herself, before telling it to Nicholas, is that she hates what she’s doing to Lucky. That’s a lie. She likes this mess she’s in. Before you disagree, understand one thing. If she hated it as much as she claims, she’d stop. She’s no longer a teenager experiencing a bout of rebellion which leads to destructive behaviors. Elizabeth didn’t recently experience a life-altering moment like illness or loss; something that would catapult her into loving one brother and lusting after another.

This thing with Nik was premeditated. Together, they fed and nurtured this beast between them and now it’s too big to fit in the cage. In fact, it’s loose and on the prowl, and in danger of consuming them. And Liz? She keeps throwing scraps at it! Stop lying to yourself Liz and perhaps then you can stop lying to everyone else, like Lucky and Nik and Sam.

Yes, Liz, you lied to Sam. Oh, you may have sounded sincere to an untrained ear (not mine, or Sam’s) but the truth is you weren’t sorry for judging Sam all those times. You didn’t want her to forgive you for all the times you slung mud down at her from your high and lofty pedestal, or told her what a piece of trash she was, or looked down your nose at her (which was quite a feat since you’re both the same size). You were feeling the need to be forgiven for behaving even more reprehensibly than her. Sam made some monstrous, ugly, hurtful mistakes. But she stopped lying to herself and owned them. Then she begged forgiveness, even grovelled at yours and everyone else’s feet, and lost just about everything she held dear as penance. What you are doing is saying, “Should you or anyone else find out that I’m not as saintly or virtuous as perceived (and I’m praying no one ever does), please don’t judge me as harshly as I judged you.”  You don’t want to lose anything…or anyone. Just a little selfish, don’t you think?

Nice try, Fallen Angel, but life rarely works out that way. Karma guarantees it.

Another liar is Olivia. She is lying to herself when she expects anyone to believe that Sonny could actually be there to make her feel “safe.” Olivia, honey, I admit I was among the first to think your son Dante was an idiot for leaving that picture with you. I knew it could only end badly. But, I get what he was trying to do now, because the whole time you were making doe eyes at Sonny, and feeling sorry for him for his awful childhood, I was screaming at you, “LOOK AT THE PICTURE!”

Yes, I know Sonny didn’t kill Claudia, but Olivia doesn’t know that.

You are lying to yourself Olivia, and that’s new, since you usually just lie to everyone else.

Lulu, your lies just make me crazy. One minute you’re worried about Dominic, the next minute you’re about to sell him down the river…make up your freakin mind! Stop lying to yourself. What you need is someone who will STAY, the way Luke didn’t. Johnny fit that bill for a while, but when he didn’t, it all fell apart. As long as Dominic was lapping at your heels, things were good. The minute you think something will happen to change that, you start acting crazy. Is Lainey back yet? My goodness, the women alone in Port Charles can make her a fortune!

Noticeably NOT on my list of liars is Nik. Say what you want…he’s a backstabber, a cheat, world’s worst brother, but at least he’s honest. He wants Liz, his brother’s one and only love…plain and simple. He knows it’s wrong, but that’s not changing anything. And, he wants to tell Lucky the truth. You’ve gotta give him credit for the little things…I can also give him credit for being incredibly hot, but that’s neither here nor there.

Other than the lies and the liars, there is something that made me feel really proud of GH this week. Johnny’s argument with Olivia. Yes, it was explosive and angry, but it wasn’t ugly or abusive or violent. There wasn’t any name-calling involved, and we were reminded that lovers can fight without wounding each other. That to me was a thing of beauty this week. Bravo to the writers! Nicely done!

My resident hottie, Jason is about to have his already Mad World turned upside down. I can’t remember a time when I was so anxious for a lunatic to come after the one I love…but who can resist, when that lunatic is so scrumptious? Mmm mmm mmm! I like crazy!

I have a feeling more lies are in the forecast for Port Charles…Franco’s arrival is going to shake things up a whole lot, and things haven’t even settled down from the last nightmare. GH is a powerhouse these days! You cannot afford to miss a single minute, or you risk missing something big and significant!

¡Ante la Crisis del Capital… Republica Popular! ¡A la calle, que ya es hora!

Trabajadores y ciudadanos del Estado Español, La Constitución Monárquica del 78 que nos ENGAÑA , y lo hace ya desde el Artículo 1º, cuando afirma que defiende un “Estado Social y Democrático de Derecho”. Los Republicanos decimos bien alto, que eso es FALSO PORQUE… …Mientras, que de los casi 4.600.000 parados reales, es decir, el 20% de la población laboral, más de millón y medio no reciben absolutamente nada y cientos de miles son desahuciados por no poder pagar la casa… El gobierno ha entregado a banqueros y empresarios cientos de miles de millones de euros (varios billones de pesetas) Cuando las rentas del capital tributan 18% y las del trabajo entre el 24 y el 43%… Las grandes fortunas lo hacen SOLO al 1%.

Porque las nuevas medidas fiscales del gobierno se basan en aumentar el IVA (un impuesto que pagan, tanto los parados como los Botines de turno)… Y eso perjudica principalmente a los trabajadores.

Mientras el Gasto Público en Sanidad y Educación es la mitad que el promedio de la UE y el Fraude Fiscal es de mas de 1.000 Millones de Euroos… El capital privatiza a pasos agigantados, la Sanidad y la Educación.

Es FALSO, porque, mientras la Iglesia Católica recibe, del dinero de todos, 3.800 millones de euros al año para la financiación de sus Universidades y Colegios concertados, el Coste del profesorado de religión en centros públicos y privados superan los 550 millones de euros y el Gobierno perdona a la Iglesia Católica 750 millones de Euros al año en Impuestos… La enseñanza pública se degrada cada día más y más y esto sucede gracias al Concordato con la Santa Sede de 1953, renovado en 1979.

Porque el 41% de las pensiones están bajo el umbral de la pobreza… Y los banqueros se jubilan a los 55 años con tres millones de euros al año.

Cuando la policía detiene a inmigrantes sin papeles y los hacina en Cetros de Integración para Extranjeros en condiciones infrahumanas… Las 10 más grandes multinacionales españolas, lograron unos ingresos en 2008 de más de 310.000 millones de euros, sacados precisamente de los países de procedencia de nuestros inmigrantes.

Porque mientras que, el desembolso previsto por el Gobierno para los parados, se traduce en la vergüenza de los 420 euros desde el 1 de enero, con un desembolso de 1.300 millones de euros… El gasto militar, sólo en inversiones, será de 4.080 millones de euros en 2009.

¿Hasta cuando vamos a seguir CLAUDICANDO? ante una Constitución Monárquica, que amparándose en sus restrictivos valores de “Justicia e Igualdad”, propicia:

Que la situación económica se debilite por momentos, el poder adquisitivo de los ciudadanos empeore, la creación de empleo disminuya, miles de trabajadores pierdan sus puestos de trabajo y la siniestralidad laboral sea la mas alta de la UE.

Que la Juventud, se encuentre en un desamparo frente a la ausencia real de políticas que les permita avanzar hacia la emancipación familiar y el desarrollo profesional.

Que la mujer, continúe incansablemente reclamando y luchado por la “igualdad real” con los hombres.

Que mientras decenas de miles de fusilados republicanos siguen en las cunetas, continúen sin anularse las sentencias de los tribunales fascistas, gracias a la inoperante Ley de la Memoria Histórica.

Que las cárceles estén llenas de pequeños delincuentes, y los grandes ladrones, banqueros, especuladores y gansters campen a sus anchas por bolsas, consejos de administración, desfiles y actos oficiales.

O que los grupos de extrema derecha, herederos genéticos y políticos de la Dictadura criminal, sigan actuando con total impunidad, ¿ Hasta cuando vamos a seguir AGUANTANDO? una Constitución Monárquica, que amparándose en su imperativo “Ordenamiento Jurídico”, tiene un Rey que: Lo es por designación de Franco, que juró defender los Principios del Movimiento Nacional fascista y que por ello no ha jurado la Constitución.

Un rey que cuando volvió del exilio, donde la República mandó a su familia,llegó sin patrimonio alguno y hoy está entre las 20 primeras fortunas de Europa, al que nadie controla sus ingresos y que no paga impuestos por ellos.

Un rey al que estos “pequeños detalles” no le impiden que sea el Jefe Supremo de un Ejército, cuyos componentes – al igual que los de los altos tribunales, la policía, la guardia civil y las altas esferas de las administraciones – no han sufrido depuración alguna, a pesar de haber sido el sostén de la Dictadura durante 40 años.

¿Hasta cuando vamos a seguir SOSTENIENDO una Constitución Monárquica, que amparándose en su peculiar modo de entender el

“Pluralismo Político”: Niega el Derecho de Autodeterminación de los Pueblos y designa al ejército como garante de la unidad de la patria.

Impide cualquier representación política a la izquierda abertzale y a las decenas de miles de personas a las que representa, que cierra periódicos y radios y encarcela a cientos de vascos y vascas por su actividad política, encausados por tribunales especiales como la Audiencia Nacional, heredera del fascista Tribunal de Orden Público, todo bajo una dictatorial Ley de Partidos, que coarta la libertad de expresión como en los años fascistas de los 70.

Propicia un auténtico Estado de excepción en Euskal Herria en el que se practica, según denuncian la ONU y Amnistía Internacional, la tortura de forma generalizada. Un Estado de excepción, en el que por ejemplo, un joven puede ser condenado a 16 años de cárcel por quemar un cajero, continuando en ella desde hace ya mas de seis, mientras el general Rodríguez Galindo, jefe del GAL y condenado a 71 años de cárcel por los asesinatos de Lasa y Zabala, sólo cumplió cuatro y ahora sus memorias, son superventas en las librerías.

Las Organizaciones Republicanas que convocamos esta Manifestación del 6 de Diciembre, estamos convencidas de que todos estos atropellos se sustentan en una estructura de poder político, económico, militar, policial, judicial y mediático que mantiene sus pilares intactos desde la Dictadura y que encabeza el rey.

Pese a los lavados de cara de las instituciones con los que intentan engañarnos, cada día es más evidente, que los pueblos no tenemos poder alguno y que en momentos de crisis, cuando los grandes poderes económicos siguen exhibiendo beneficios y reciben dinero público a manos llenas, aprovechan para exprimir a la clase obrera y sectores populares todavía más y más.

Si seguimos contemplando pasivamente lo que nos sucede y esperando una imposible salvación individual, llegaremos a condiciones laborales de semiesclavitud, con la sanidad y la educación para quien la pueda pagar y con una represión y coartación de nuestras libertades, sin freno.

Las Organizaciones Republicanas de la COORDINADORA REPUBLICANA DE MADRID luchamos por una salida democrática y popular a la crisis económica, por una alternativa no capitalista y afirmamos que SÍ HAY SALIDA A LA CRISIS, siempre que se produce un más justo reparto del trabajo y la riqueza.

Y os decimos que ya es hora de que todas y todos hagamos nuestro aquel: “A LA CALLE QUE YA ES HORA”… Para exigir:

· Protección social plena y de empleo para todas y todos los parados.
· Reforma fiscal, para que paguen más los que más tienen.
· Nacionalización de la Banca y de los sectores estratégicos de la economía.
· Creación de empleo público de calidad. Viviendas para todos.
· Ayudas y moratorias a parados y rentas bajas.
· Educación y sanidad públicas y de calidad. No a la financiación de la sanidad
privada con dinero público.
· Eliminación del Concordato con la Santa Sede. Plena separación Iglesia/Estado.
· Salida de la OTAN, desmantelamiento de las bases y regreso de las tropas en el
exterior.
· Amnistía para los presos políticos.

Madrid 20.15: Ha terminado la manifestación, después de la lectura del comunicado. La Haine entrevista al portavoz de la Coordinadora Antifascista de Madrid, que nos dice: “Valoramos muy positivamente la manifestación, ha sido bastante numerosa, con un recorrido muy combativo, los asistentes han estado a la altura de las circunstancias pese a las presiones de la delegación de Gobierno que no nos ha permitido el recorrido tradicional de Cibeles a Puerta del Sol, en definitiva creemos que ha sido triunfo. Aunque no tenemos cifras exactas, calculamos que han asistido en torno a 4.000 personas.”

También nos comenta que “Nosotros apostamos por un trabajo unitario y creemos que ese es el camino. Consideramos que en el ámbito del movimiento antifascista de Madrid es necesario incluir todo tipo de expresiones. Somos anarquistas, somos castellanistas, somos republicanos, somos antifascistas, pero cabemos todos. Como dice el comunicado de la manifestación, no debemos convertir nuestras diferencias en un obstáculo, al contrario, debemos convertirlas en una suma de fuerzas. Es legítimo caminar separados pero es fundamental golpear juntos. Nuestro enemigo común es el fascismo y el capitalismo”.

León: En la manifestación del 20N 2009 han participado unas 100 personas. Este año hubo poca presencia policial. Diversos colectivos se han sumado al acto antifascista, entre ellos grupos estudiantiles de la ciudad y otros como Corriente Roja. La marcha fue organizada por la Coordinadora Antifascita de León, que pese al mal tiempo valoran para La Haine que el resultado de la movilización “es positivo, porque bastante gente ha salido hoy a la calle”. En la pancarta principal se podía leer la consigna unitaria “Frente a la crisis capitalista, su arma: la represión y el fascismo; la nuestra: unidad y organización”.

Castellón: Unas 200 personas se han manifestado contra el fascismo en una marcha que ha dado comienzo a las 19.30h, convocados por BAF Castellón. Se han coreado lemas como “La Plana será la tumba del fascismo”, “No es un delito ser antifascista”, “Carlos, hermanos, nosotros no olvidamos” y “El fascismo avanza si no se le combate”.

Burgos: Unas 200 personas han salido a la calle este sábado a la manifestación organizada por la Coordinadora Antifascista de Burgos. La marcha ha sido colorida con presencia de banderas comunistas, anarquistas y pendones castellanos. También había una pancarta con la cara de Carlos y dos pancartas principales, una delante y otra detrás. En la de delante se podía leer “La lucha es el único camino” y en la de atrás “Tú lo sostienes, tú lo puedes derribar”. La presencia policial no fue excesiva este año.

Zaragoza: Unas 500 personas han participado en la manifestación antifascista del 20N 2009. Se ha visto la presencia animosa de bastantes asociaciones de vecinos, como por ejemplo la AAVV de la Madalena, ACTUR y de AAVV de Torreo. La presencia represiva fue importante, había unas 10 furgonas detrás y delante, además de agentes en las calles adyacentes.
Se ha recordado combativamente a Carlos y a los asesinados por el fascismo. También ha habido a la misma hora de la tarde una manifestación fascista del Movimiento Social Republicano, que apenas alcanzó a reunir unos 50 elementos. Un grupo de antifascistas ha intentado acercarse pero han sido disueltos por la policías, que como siempre defiende a los fascistas, sin producirse detenciones.

Santander: Unas 200 personas han marchado desde Cuatru Caminos hasta Correos, este año hay nueva trayectoria, normalmente la marcha era hasta el Ayuntamiento donde estaba la estatua del dictador Franco, pero tras su retirada la marcha llega hasta Correos, que es un recorrido más largo. Ahora mismo se está leyendo el comunicado. La pancarta principal pone “Fascismo impune, Estado culpable”, que es el lema de las Jornada de este Noviembre Antifascista, más el logo de la Coordinadora Antifascista de Cantabria.
La gente ha coreado incesantemente consignas como “Carlos hermano nosotros no olvidamos”, “Cantabria obrera, fascistas fuera”, “Ser antifascista no es un delito”, “Fascismo impune, estado culpable”. Este año hay mas presencia policial que otros, una lechera detrás, otra delante y varios antidisturbios alrededor, aunque en actitud no amenazante. Se ha insistido en los cánticos en solidaridad con el antifascista asesinado Carlos y contra los montajes policiales en Euskal Herria y en el resto del Estado español. También se ha gritado “Ilegalizar Democracia Nacional” porque hace un mes abrieron un local en Camargo, cerca de Santander.

Ciudad Real

La manifestación partió desde la Pza. San Francisco a las 21:15h. con casi un centenar de personas, realizando diversas paradas, concretamente, frente a la Subdelegación del Gobierno (sita en Pza. Cervantes) y en la Plaza Mayor para finalizar en la Plaza de la Constitución. La manifestación, precedida por la pancarta “Contra la crisis capitalista y fascista, unidad y lucha”, ha transcurrido sin ninguna incidencia reseñable y con una importante presencia policial. Se han coreado diversas consignas tanto contra el capital como en recuerdo de lxs compañerxs presxs y caídxs en la lucha. Una vez alcanzado el lugar de finalización, Pza. de Constitución se ha procedido a leer el comunicado y, posteriormente, se ha guardado un minuto de silencio por todxs lxs compañerxs caídxs en la lucha. A las 22:10h. se ha desconvocado la manifestación.

Cuenca

Cerca de medio centenar de personas se han reunido en Cuenca bajo el lema “Frente a la crisis capitalista, su arma: fascismo y represión; la nuestra: unidad y organización”. Convocada por la Asamblea Autónoma de Cuenca, y con la colaboración de juventudes comunistas, la manifestación ha comenzado sobre las 19.30h desde la Plaza San Esteban. El acto se realizó sin problemas y bajo mínima presencia policial. De entre los lemas principales cabe destacar: “combate el fascismo”, y “unidad antifascista”. Los organizadores han declarado que “en la unidad y la organización está la respuesta hacia el estado opresor”.

Granada

La manifestación “Por un 20-N en Granada Anticapitalista, Autónomo y Sin Partidos” ha terminado una hora después de su inicio. A la mitad del trayecto se han empezado
a formar barricadas; el alto número de “secretas” y antidisturbios (la manifestación no estaba legalizada) se ha concretado, al paso por la catedral, en enfrentamientos, disturbios y cargas policiales que han supuesto numerosos heridos y es posible que haya habido detenciones.

Málaga

La manifestación antifascista concluyó frente a la catedral de Málaga, que ha reunido a unos 200 participantes. Toda la ruta se realizó sin incidentes, se recorrió plaza de la Merced, calle Granada, calle Larios, plaza de la Constitución, plaza de la Marina. Al llegar a la catedral los activistas se encontraron con la cruz custodiada por los antidisturbios. Los fascistas de Fuerza Nueva hicieron antes una ofrenda floral en ese mismo lugar, y “seguramente los represores no querían que se pisotearan las flores”, según declara una antifascista a La Haine. La pancarta principal pone “Frente a la crisis capitalista unidad y organización antifascista”, también se desplegaron otra sobre la represión en Málaga y otra sobre Carlos Palomino.

Segovia

A pesar de la alta presencia policial, no han ocurrido altercados en esta manifestación convocada por la Coordinadora Antifascista de Segovia y en la que han participado cerca de un centenar de personas. De entre los manifestantes, destaca la presencia de muchos jóvenes que se han unido hoy para protestar contra el Fascismo con gritos unánimes como el de “Ni un paso atrás”. Se lee en la pancarta principal “Segovia en lucha: Fascismo nunca más”. Desde la Coordinadora nos expresan que la motivación principal para realizar un acto como este es que, “a pesar de que se quiera hacer ver lo contrario, seguimos viviendo en un sistema dictatorial que supone una continuación del fascismo vivido durante la dictadura de Francisco Franco”.

Sevilla

Unas 80 personas se concentraban al inicio de la manifestación frente al arco de la Macarena, con intención de ir callejeando hacia la plaza del Duque. Se ha desplegado una pancarta con el lema unitario: “Frente a la crisis capitalista, su arma: la represión y el fascismo; la nuestra: UNIDAD Y ORGANIZACIÓN”. Se han cantado consignas antifascistas como “Ninguna agresión sin respuesta”.

Mientras la manifestación callejeaba dirigiéndose hacia la plaza del Duque, final previsto, repartiendo panfletos y gritando consignas, 12 antidisturbios se plantaron a un metro cortando el paso. Cuando se intentó discutir con ellos dijeron que no se podía hacer la manifestación, pero la gente se podía quedar en el arco de la Macarena. Ante la pretensión represiva de ordenar lo que los activistas debían hacer, estos recogieron la pancarta e intentaron bajar a plaza Nueva (la del ayuntamiento) callejeando en varios grupos para despistar a la policía, cosa que inicialmente se logró. Al llegar a plaza Nueva se reunieron y arreciaron las consignas, pero en 5 minutos aparecieron 3 furgones y vehículos de policía municipal, que rodearon a la gente e identificaron a varios activistas de mala manera.

Ante la imposibilidad de continuar con el acto antifascista, la gente se dispersó. Un activista ha comentado a La Haine que “no se pudo leer el comunicado ni terminar la manifestación, la policía estuvo pisándonos los talones todo el tiempo, un acoso increíble”.

Trasancos (Galiza)

NÓS-UP realiza varios sabotajes simultáneamente a símbolos fascistas. Entre otras acciones en Ferrol ha sido pintada la “Cruz dos caídos” de la Praça de Amboage. Leer noticia completa.

Valladolid

Una tensa manifestación ha aglutinado a unas 250 personas. En ella la policía ha mantenido una actitud intimidatoria,incluso a amenazado a algún compañero con detenerle. El recorrido se ha realizado con bastante animación y sin incidentes salvo en la Plaza de la Universidad, donde dio comienzo la manifestación, pues se encontraban reunidos unos fascistas a la salida de La Catedral, que estuvieron celebrando una misa en su interior, y buscaron la provocación con los manifestantes.Como de costumbre, la policía se puso de lado de los fascistas y se produjeron momentos de tensión.

La pancarta principal portaba el lema: “La juventud lucha contra el fascismo”. También se desplegó un estandarte recordando a Iván, el último compañero asesinado por el fascismo en Rusia. Al finalizar la manifestación se ha leído el comunicado elaborado para la ocasión y se ha recordado el próximo acto convocado para el 25 de Noviembre contra la violencia machista.

Barcelona

21.00h: Se termina la manifestación sin incidentes.

A las 20.45h, los manifestantes se encuentran ya en la calle de la librería fascista. Los Mossos han cortado la calle y hay 7 lecheras a unos metros de los manifestantes. No hay incidentes con la policía debido en parte a que existe una separación entre manifestantes y agentes.

20.30h:La manifestación ha comenzado en la Plaza Vila de Gràcia con aproximadamente 100 personas. En estos momentos la cifra va aumentando, ya que cada vez se une más gente al acto, y ya son más de 200 personas las que circulan por la calle Gran de Gràcia con rumbo a la Librería Europa. No hay presencia policial por esta calle, pero se tiene constancia de que hay varios furgones de Mossos en la zona de la librería. Además, nos han comunicado que esta tarde estos han estado cacheando e identificando a varias personas en distintas bocas del metro, entre ellas, en Diagonal y Fontana.

La pancarta principal “20 N: Contra la impunitat feixista. Fora la llibrería Europa” sintetiza claramente el motivo de la manifestación, convocada por la Plataforma Antifeixista de Europa. Uno de los miembros de la Plataforma nos ha explicado que se pide una vez más el cierre inmediato de la librería, aprovechando estas jornadas antifascistas celebradas en todo el estado. Pese a que ya se ha pedido muchas veces, la Generalitat y los órganos de Gobierno no proceden al cierre del establecimiento, motivo por el cual se protesta contra la total impunidad con la que actúa el fascimo.

20.45: Está terminando frente a la catedral de Málaga la manifestación antifascista, que ha reunido a unos 200 participantes, ahora se está leyendo el comunicado. Toda la ruta se realizó sin incidentes, se recorrió plaza de la Merced, calle Granada, calle Larios, plaza de la Constitución, plaza de la Marina. Al llegar a la catedral los activistas se encontraron con la cruz custodiada por los antidisturbios. Los fascistas de Fuerza Nueva hicieron antes una ofrenda floral en ese mismo lugar, y seguramente los represores no querían que se pisotearan las flores. La pancarta principal pone “Frente a la crisis capitalista unidad y organización antifascista”, también se desplegaron otra sobre la represión en Málaga y otra sobre Carlos Palomino.

20.00: En este momento hay ya unas 80 personas concentradas frente al arco de la Macarena, la manifestación está a punto de comenzar, van a ir callejeando hacia la plaza del Duque. Se ha desplegado la pancarta con el lema unitario: “Frente a la crisis capitalista, su arma: la represión y el fascismo; la nuestra: UNIDAD Y ORGANIZACIÓN”. Se han cantado consignas antifascistas como “Ningnuna agresión sin respuesta”. Hay 3 lecheras policiales, pero los represores están en actitud tranquila.

GRANADA

Algo más de doscientas personas convocadas por Jaleo!!!, JCA, CJC, IA y PCE-ML se dieron cita ayer 19 de Noviembre para manifestarse contra el fascismo y su desarrollo durante estos tiempos de crisis. El lema “Fascismo y Racismo, Herramientas de Capitalismo” fue el elegido para la pancarta principal. A pesar de que la manifestación había sido convocada con la idea de una alternativa antifascista seria y no vandálica, la presencia policial fue desmesurada, con notoria malaeducación por parte de los agentes a la hora de identificar a algunos manifestantes.

El cortejo de manifestantes salió de los jardines del Triunfo y finalizó en la Fuente de las Batallas, se realizó el recorrido sin ningún tipo de incidentes, sólo algún que otro abucheo a un par de personas seniles que increparon a los manifestantes, pero sin más. Se oyeron las consignas que ya vienen siendo habituales como “Carlos, hermano nosotros no olvidamos”, “Nazis no” o “Ilegalizad Democracia Nacional” entre otras muchas más. Al llegar a la sede de AJE frente a la Plaza del Carmen, con un dispositivo especial de la policía para ésta, la manifestación se paró para “dedicarle” abucheos, pitidos y algún que otro recuerdo no muy cariñoso a las madres. A partir de ahí la manifestación siguió hacia su final con la expectación de curiosos y extraños que pasaban por la calle.

Al finalizar la marcha, Shema Rivera, portavoz nacional de jaleo!!! leyó el manifiesto conjunto redactado por todas las organizaciones convocantes, el cuál sirve como alerta a la proliferación del fascismo como herramienta del capitalismo y como la situación económica hace que el mensaje tenga más calado social. También hubo recuerdo para los asesinados por el fascismo como Carlos Palomino o Javier Verdejo. El manifiesto terminó con un “Por una Granada y Andalucía Libre de Fascismo”. Que así sea y esperemos que esta unión entre organizaciones no sea algo puntual y siga adelante en el futuro.

Recordamos desde La Haine que para hoy a las 20 horas en el Arco Elvira hay una convocatoria autónoma antifascista bajo los lemas “Hoy el fascismo se llama democracia” “La lucha es el único camino”, por un 20-N Anticapitalista, Autónomo y sin Partidos.

Slow on the uptake for the second time recently, how did I miss reports of Nick Griffin’s recent trip to Spain?

It’s already been picked up in several places though these reports have focused on the fact that a rival fascist mob turned up at the Democracia Naciona Party event Griffin was attending, tried to force entry and were arrested.

I think it’s more relevant to look at exactly sort of event he was attending was.

Now many Brits take regular trips to Spain but Griffin seems to be taking tips from no guide book I’ve ever read.

The clue that Nick is not your average holiday maker and is in fact the country’s most prominent fascist can be seen through seen with his choice of destination. Deciding to skip the Costa del Sol, he instead opted for a commeration of the former Spanish dictator Franco and José Antonio, founder of Spain’s fascist movement La Falange:

The MEP and British national Party leader was a special guest at the meeting held by the Spanish far-Right National Democracy Party at a central Madrid hotel on Saturday…

Police were on high alert in the capital on Saturday as demonstrators marched through the streets to commemorate the death of Gen Franco, who died on November 20 1975.

Several hundred supporters of the regime gathered in Calle Genova, the birthplace of Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, founder of the Falange party, before taking buses to the Valle de los Caidos, Valley of the Fallen, where both he and Gen Franco are buried.

This year, for the first time since the death of the dictator, who ruled the country with an iron-fist for 36 years, there was no mass held at the mausoleum in the hills to the west of Madrid to mark his death.

Spain’s fascists traditionally gather at the vast basilica, which took 19 years to build using forced labour by Republican prisoners, to pay homage to the late dictator on the Saturday following the date of his death.

The man is a political schizophrenic. In Britain he’s a nice, modern, non-racist nationalist. Abroad, he’s happy to travel to attend commerations for dead fascists and dictators. 

I wonder if any of his new Asian friends made the trip with him. No? How strange.

He’s lucky the British press are so crap and haven’t picked up on it yet.

Update: In a bizarre post on the main BNP site, the group who attacked last Saturday’s Democracia Naciona Party meeting are described as:

a fascist group closely aligned to the English Defence League“.

The Movimiento Patriótico Socialista are apparently an unrepentant neo-Nazi group and hate the Democracia Naciona Party for seeking to emulate the example of Le Pen and others (that is, moving away from the historic symbols and positions of the extreme right).

In contrast, the English Defence League are so desperate to appear non-racist that they burn swastikas, claim to be multi-racial and group the BNP under the label ‘extremists’.

How likely is it that these two groups have close links? Total silliness.

EVER wondered why Spain remained neutral in the Second World War? After all, Hitler and Mussolini had given Franco ample support during the Spanish Civil War, and might have expected the Caudillo to return the favour by joining with the Axis powers.

But Franco declined to get involved, despite the Nazis’ best efforts to persuade him otherwise – and it’s just as well that he did.

“God knows what would have happened if the Axis powers had taken control of Spain,” the journalist and author Jimmy Burns told an audience at the Instituto Cervantes last month. “It would probably have changed the entire course of World War II.”

Oh, Franco…I could ALMOST believe anything that tumbled off your oh-so-perfect lips! Like Maxie, whether I believed you or not, I’d still want those lips on mine! Whew! You are one HOT psycho! Is THAT what it takes to shut you up? Hmmm…

Well, GHers, I dare you you to find a storyline this fun to watch. The Mad Hottie is…well, mad! I mean really, what kind of games is he playing? (Other than sex games, I mean) That whole heartbreak story about Vanessa and converting to vegetarianism? What kind of mind can fabricate stuff like that so easily? (By the way, my daughter’s name is Vanessa, and she screamed when she heard him utter her name. His appeal transcends age groups, which should be great news for ratings!)

Franco is a deranged, twisted, dangerous individual, and I think Maxie knows that, but all that mattered in the heat of the moment was how incredibly sexy and intense he was. Hearing her talk about how Spinelli loves her and watching her struggle with the enormity of the consequences (albeit very briefly) if she went through with it, made me realize that Maxie was about to learn another SECRET TO LIFE…WHEN YOU PLAY WITH FIRE, YOU WILL GET BURNED. Sometimes, those closest to you also get burned, and I predict some melancholy moments ahead for the Jackal. I can almost guarantee that in those moments when Maxie sees what her actions really cost, she is going to have a really tough time reconciling the two. Just another SECRET TO LIFE…EVERYTHING COSTS SOMETHING…BE PREPARED TO PAY.

Today’s episode was riddled with SECRETS TO LIFE. These were the SECRETS TO LIFE I recognized:

~ THE BEST KIND OF LOVE IN UNCONDITIONAL  Sometimes I get caught up in how sexy and fun to watch Jason and Sam are, that I nearly forget their foundation; the reason I fell in love with them long before they knew they were in love with each other. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. As a mom, I try to teach my kids that we can’t become what everyone else wants us to become or we won’t recognize ourselves at the end of the day. BE YOURSELF, I tell them, and those who are really your friends, or those who profess to love you, will accept you as you are…or they won’t. Either way, you win, because the decision about whom to share your life with will be much clearer. Through the process of elimination, we have seen who accepts Jason and Sam as they ARE, and of those very few, the only true love possibilities they have are…EACH OTHER. While like Maxie and Franco, you don’t NEED honesty in order to share a night of passion, or even to create life, you cannot build a relationship while lying to yourself about the person you’re planning to share your life with. OOH! ANOTHER SECRET TO LIFE: ~DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL…DON’T WORK FOR LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS (grammatical error used for effect) Jason and Sam know who they are, and they know each other; and still, they can accept each other…flaws and all. It may be among the most honest relationships in Port Charles!

~ THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS I’m sure Maximista believed she was doing the best thing for Crimson and her career when she decided to follow Franco out of the gallery. I’m sure she still believed it when she chose to wear the blindfold rather than get out of the limo. She must have had to choose to believe it when she was lying face down on a cold, filthy cement floor while being photographed. And while I’m sure she thought she experienced HEAVEN while inspired to experiment artistically with the Artist Known as Dark & Delicious, Maxie is in the fast lane to experiencing HELL ON EARTH.  Spinelli loves Maxie…also unconditionally, and once she got a taste of that, she wanted to hold on to it. Unfortunately for Maxie, here’s our next SECRET TO LIFE…

~ IN ORDER TO GRAB SOMETHING NEW, YOU MUST FIRST LET GO OF WHAT YOU’RE HOLDING  In order for Maximista to grab hold of her big future at Crimson, she had to let go of Spinelli. Sometimes we can let go of something and not lose it. But other times, the wind picks just that moment to rip past and carry it off, or someone comes by and snatches it away from us. It’s a chance we take. We’ll see how it plays out for Maxie. Other PC residents are testing this SECRET TO LIFE: Johnny – he’s willing to let go of his love for Olivia in order to grab some revenge on Sonny and Dominic. Lucky – has let go of loyalties to Luke in order to grab the possibility of a better life for his boys. Spinelli – is trying to let go of his insecurities to grab the role of biggest supporter of Maxie’s career. Jason and Sam – are willing to let go of past hurts and mistakes in order to grab hold of love and happiness. Then there’s Sonny…who’s about to let go of his biggest fear in order to hold on to the son he didn’t even know he had.

Sometimes the biggest SECRET TO LIFE is just that…a secret. We must make mistakes and screw up and blow big opportunities in order to uncover the SECRETS TO LIFE. If we knew them all upfront…life would be incredibly boring.

1- El 29 de Febrero de 2010 se cumple el 50 aniversario del nacimiento del asesino en serie Richard Ramírez

Richard Ramírez nació el 29 de Febrero de 1960 en El Paso, Texas. Actualmente espera la ejecución en la corredor de la muerte en la prisión de San Quintín. El “merodeador nocturno” mató a 14 personas en Los Angeles entre 1984 y 1985.

Su modus operandi también oscilaba, ya que podía asesinar de una manera organizada sin dejar pista o matar sin ningun cuidado creyendose amparado por Satán, dibujando signos satánicos en las paredes, comiendo en casa de sus víctimas, robandoles el dinero que llevaban encima o dejando las armas homicidas en el lugar del crimen.

2 – El 30 de Abril de 2010 se cumple el 65 aniversario de la muerte del dictador alemán Adolf  Hitler.

Adolf Hitler nació el 20 de abril de 1889 en Berlín, Alemania y murió el 30 de abril de 1945) fue un militar y político alemán de origen austriaco, líder, ideólogo y fundador del Partido Nacionalsocialista Alemán de los Trabajadores que estableció un régimen nacionalsocialista en Alemania entre 1933 y 1945 conocido como Tercer Reich, periodo en el que recibió y ocupó sucesivamente los cargos de Canciller Imperial, Jefe de Estado  y Comandante Supremo de las fuerzas armadas alemanas durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

3 – El 19 de Mayo del 2010 se cumple el 140 aniversario del nacimiento de Albert Fish.

Albert Hamilton Fish (19 de mayo de 1870 – 16 de enero de 1936). Nació en Washington D.C. En un orfanato transcurrió una buena parte de su infancia. Hacia 1890, Fish llegó a la ciudad de Nueva York, afirmó que comenzó a violar a muchachos jóvenes, un crimen que siguió cometiendo aún después de que su madre le arregló un matrimonio.

Una vez detenido, se confiesa además autor de otros muchos crímenes y demás aberraciones que había estado llevando a cabo durante toda su vida: su deseo irresistible de comer carne cruda las noches de luna llena. Es condenado a la silla eléctrica y ejecutado en la prisión de Sing Sing el 16 de enero de 1936. Cuando se le preguntaba por la cifra exacta, respondía sonriendo: “Por lo menos cien”.

4 – El 21 de mayo de 2010 se cumple el 50 aniversario del nacimiento del asesino en serie Jeffrey Dahmer

Nació el 21 de Mayo de 1960 en Milwaukee Wisconsin y murió el 28 de noviembre de 1994 en la prisión de Portage Wisconsin a manos de otro interno. Apodado “El Carnicero de Milwaukee“, fue un asesino en serie responsable por la muerte de 17 hombres entre 1978 y 1991.

Su táctica era siempre similar, los invitaba a ver pornografía o a sacarse unas fotos, les ponía una droga en la bebida, los estrangulaba, tenía sexo y se masturbaba encima del cuerpo. Luego tomaba fotografías del cuerpo y de cada etapa del desmembramiento. Solía utilizar ácidos para deshacer la carne y los huesos, pero solía conservar la cabeza y los genitales como trofeo. Otra de sus características era comerse a parte de sus víctimas, le daba la sensación de que empezaban a formar parte de él.

5 – El 23 de mayo de 2010 se cumple el 60º aniversario del nacimiento del asesino en serie Richard Chase. Además, también el 26 de diciembre se cumple el 30º aniversario de su muerte

Richard Chase nació el 23 de mayo de 1950 y murió el 26 de diciembre de 1980. Un asesino diagnosticado esquizofrénico tras disparar, descuartizar, y beber la sangre de seis personas en 1977. A los 28 años, comienza una serie de crímenes disparando dos veces sin motivo alguno sobre un desconocido, que se convertiría en la primera de sus víctimas. Así hasta llegar a las 6 personas que asesinó mencionadas al principio.

En el juicio trata de justificar sus macabros crímenes diciendo que unas voces de seres extraterrestres y otras criaturas lo acosaban contínuamente obligándole a matar… Finalmente es condenado a pena de muerte aunque su ejecución en la cámara de gas nunca se llevó a cabo, pues se suicida pocos meses después en su celda con una sobredosis de antidepresivos en diciembre de 1980.

6 – El 10 de Noviembre del 2010 se cumple el 2º aniversario de la muerte del asesino Arthur Showcross.

Shawcross asesinó a dos niñas vietnamitas y se comió parte de sus cuerpos. En 1972 asesino a 2 niños, a finales de los 80’s recogia a prostitutas en las calles, las llevaba a lugares apartados donde las torturaba, las estrangulaba, abusaba de los cadaveres y en ocasiones consumia trozos de carne humana. Es condenado a 25 años de cárcel (llega a un trato luego de confesar dónde estaba el cuerpo de Jack). A los 15 años de condena es liberado bajo palabra. En Marzo de 1987 es liberado, y en Marzo de 1988 comienza una frenética carrera de muerte, abuso y canibalismo, que se cobra la vida de al menos doce prostitutas. Es atrapado, y alega demencia. El jurado no le cree, ni considera que el haber estado en Vietnam sea suficiente atenuante. Es condenado a 250 años de cárcel. Murió en la cárcel el 10 de noviembre de 2008.

7 – El 20 de Noviembre de 2010 se cumple el 35º aniversario de la muerte del dictador español Francisco Franco.

Francisco Franco nació en Ferrol, La Coruña, el 4 de diciembre de 1892 y murió el 20 de noviembre de 1975. Fue un militar y dictador español, y uno de los líderes del pronunciamiento militar de 1936 que desembocó en la Guerra Civil Española. Fue inspirador del movimiento ideológico totalitario en sus inicios, dictatorial después, conocido como franquismo. Juntó en torno a su persona, las diferentes tendencias del conservadurismo, del nacionalismo y del catolicismo que se oponían a la izquierda política y al desarrollo de formas democráticas de gobierno.

8 – El 23 de noviembre de 2010 se cumple el 65º aniversario del nacimiento del asesino en serie Dennis Nilsen.

El caso de Dennis Andrew Nilsen es increíble. Nació el 23 de noviembre de 1945 en Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Escocia). Pues fue un hombre tan atormentado por la soledad que asesinaba a sus diferentes amantes por temor al abandono. Los mayores problemas de Nilsen derivaron de las vivencias que tuvo que pasar y de las muertes a las que sobrevivió, como la de su abuelo o la de un hombre que se había ahogado en un río. Ver los cadáveres, arcarían de por vida a Nilsen.

En 1978, Nilsen conoce a un joven en un bar, luego lo invita a su departamento, donde mantienen relaciones sexuales. A la mañana siguiente, éste lo estrangula. Así, Nilsen asesinaría 14 hombres y mujeres más, estudiantes, indigentes o parejas suyas, a los que estrangularía, ahogaría, descuartizaría y tiraría sus restos por sus cañerías. Finalmente, el 4 de noviembre de 1983, Nilsen fue encontrado culpable de 6 asesinatos y de dos intentos de asesinato y fue sentenciado a Cadena perpetua con un mínimo de 25 años de reclusión.
