Hulk Hogan podczas konferencji porwierdzającej jego przejście do TNA

# Pojawiły się nowe fakty co do dołączenia Hulka Hogana do TNA. Jak podają źródła, po słynnym przemówieniu do całego rosteru które wykonała Dixie Carter (można było je zobaczyć na TNA Impact parę tygodni temu), z rosterem przez konferencje telefoniczną porozmawiał sam Hulk. Według plotek zawodnicy byli, trochę zawiedzeni iż wrestler nie pojawił się w budynku jednak docenili jego gest. Kształtów może też nabierać sprawa debiutu Hogana podczas nagrań Impactów. Według plotek miałby się on pojawić jeszcze podczas któregoś z nagrań w grudniu tego roku. Sam Hogan ponoć pracuje nad materiałem filmowym który, byłby częścią debiutu. Co więcej potwierdziły się informację, iż wszelkie oddziały telewizyjne jak i reporterzy, nie byli powiadomieni o tym że Hulk ma zamiar ogłosić swoje przejście do TNA. Dlatego była to kompletna niespodzianka.

Dla zapominalskich poniżej film z przemówieniem Dixie do wrestlerów:

# Zostając przy tej przemowie, wśród zawodników siedzących na publiczności nie znalazło się 5 osób. Pewnymi nazwiskami jest Homicide i Frankie Kazarian który obecnie odgrywa rolę Suicide’a. Dixie Carter przekazała, że jeśli te osoby nie mają zamiaru pomoc TNA w jej idei, mogą odejść z federacji. To też uczyniła ta 5 zawodników, jednak zarząd odrzucił ich petycje. Swoją rolę odegrał w tym AJ Styles i Daniels którzy namówili obydwu zawodników do pozostania.

# Z racji tego iż Impact według kalendarza wychodzi w Wigilię Bożego Narodzenia, TNA postanowiła nie emitować tego dnia programu, przez co w sylwester zostaną wyemitowane 4 godziny Impactu podzielone na 2 części.

# 8 Grudnia oficjalną premierę będzie miało DVD gdzie znajduje się zapis gali Bound For Glory.

# Dobiegł również końca etap zgłaszania się chętnych pań do konkursu który ma rozstrzygnąć  i wybrać partnerkę Kevina Nasha podczas “Big Sexy Tour 2010″. Zwyciężczyni spędzi z samym zainteresowanym cały dzień, będzie miała zapewniony pobyt  w najdroższym hotelu, najlepsze miejsca na Final Resolution 2009 PPV oraz obecność na posterach i sesjach zdjęciowych.

# Na koniec zdjęcie które z powodzeniem, mogło by znaleźć się jako zdjęcie tygodnia po prawej stronie. Czyli Lacey Von Erich w bikini podczas Bikini Contest na Hulkmanii

Hi FAX Fans

The weekend is once again upon us and it has been another week that has flown by here at the Shay Offices. The big news this week is the appointment of two influential businessmen onto our board of directors.

Howard Posner makes a return to the club after a couple of years away, whilst Ian Croad has made the transition into a full time director after several months of increased activity with the club. Both men are highly respected around these parts and bring a wealth of experience to the mighty FAX. Overall this means that the club is even more stable and can continue the plan to regain our Super League status in 2012.

There is still a long way to go but with people like this involved the task is made easier and with the help of our fantastic supporters we are confident that 2012 will see a top flight rugby team in the town of Halifax! (And I don’t mean for a Challenge Cup game either)

That has been the major news in the office this week and has kept everyone busy with plans to improve this and improve that. It is all very exciting, tiring, and crazy. Just the way we like it!

Other news is that the players continued there comeback this week with further tests carried out. Full training begins next week and will see the players put through their paces, although it started early for Frankie Watene as he could be seen charging up and down the wing yesterday in a bid to get one up on new arrivals Stanley Gene and Makali Aizue. Take it to them Frank!!

And as always we have an East Stand update for you all. As I walked into the stadium this morning I saw what seemed to be a reflection at the top of the stand, so I took a closer inspection. To my delight I saw what looks to be doors and windows in some of the Exec Boxes. I am not sure if you will be able to see it from the web cam but it is very exciting from my seat. Am I sad? Maybe, but I don’t care. I have been waiting nearly 10 years for this J

Finally, the interview with Michael Steele was finally finished and uploaded yesterday and has already been enjoyed (hopefully) by hundreds of people. Blondie, Donna Summer and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons have all been confirmed for the 2009 Seaside Summer Concert Series and the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series in Brooklyn, NY.

Hall & Oates, Pat Benatar, The O’Jays, Robin Thicke, Keyshia Cole, Teena Marie, Sean Paul, Gladys Knight and Anita Baker will also perform throughout the series, which runs until August 27.

The seaside shows will be held every Thursday 7:30 pm at Asser Levy/Seaside Park at West 5th Street and Surf Avenue in Brighton Beach. Chair rentals will be available for $5 or concertgoers can bring their own chairs.

Martin Luther King Jr. concerts will be held Monday nights at 7:30 pm at Wingate Field on Brooklyn Avenue.

Hi Fax Fans

The main story from the last couple of days is about what Frank Watene has been up to. It turns out that our very own number 17 is taking part in a sponsored walk around Hebden Bridge in aid of the White Ribbon Charity. Now a walk around Hebden may not sound too impressive for a rugby player who runs mile after mile throughout a whole season. However, this walk has a twist, as he will be walking in High Heels!

Yes that’s right. Frank, who is about 17 stone and 6ft 3 is going to walk around Hebden Bridge on Saturday in High Heel shoes. He hasn’t told me what kind of shoes they are, but I am sure they will be fabulous.

Now I can’t decide what would be more hilarious. Frank walking around in his usual tracksuit, and then you look down and say “oh wait, are they high heel shoes”. Or if he goes the all the way and puts on some fish net tights (if they make them big enough), a skirt (if they make them big enough), and a tank top (if they make them big enough). And now I have that image in my head and it hurts (im sure you are thinking the same thing too. sorry).

Frank should be very proud of his efforts though and the White Ribbon Charity is extremely grateful for this excellent fundraiser. Frank has been telling me that it has been difficult for him though. It’s been a tough adjustment, and like anything, practice makes perfect. So if you see a very large figure approaching you at midnight in the middle of Halifax, wearing what seems to be a large afro and some high heels, do not worry. It is only Frank, and all he is asking for is some sponsor money (id give it him too).

So Australia have Dame Edna, and England has the one Paul O’Grady used to dress up as. Now New Zealand has Frankie (both a boy’s and girl’s name. coincidence?). Other than unfortunate images of Frank in heels, what else has occurred at the Shay this week? Well Mr FAX was at a marketing meeting yesterday with the RFL and other championship clubs. High on the agenda was sponsorship and the website, and how to improve these things. All in all it was an interesting day and some tips were picked up. So expect to see some improvements on the website in the coming days.

Also in the news this week is, as always, the East Stand. At this very moment in time I am looking over at the stand and watching them place glass in the banqueting suite and the Exec boxes. Although not finished yet, it already looks great. It is really starting to look like a real stand and I for one are very exciting.

We have been getting a bit of press lately.

We were the featured group in Frankie Magazines latest issue on creative collectives.

Curtin University magazine Grok ran a story on me after I painted their cafe.

The Yankees won their 27th World Series Championship this week and among the millions of fans celebrating around the world was a father and a son in Staten Island.

Even for those who do not follow the sport and just tuned in for the 2009 Major League Baseball Playoffs, it was pretty exciting stuff. 

As the season wore on, Frankie became more and more interested. For starters, this was the year the Yankees moved across 161st Street in the Bronx to their new home. I made sure to take him to the old stadium before the tore it down.

It would be the year A-Rod admitted to steroid use, a lesson in cheating Frankie took to heart.  But, it was also a message of coming clean and of redemption, as after his public, heartfelt admission, and being sidelined with an injury, A-Rod came roaring into the playoffs and was able to finally able to prove he could come through in the clutch during the post-season.

His girlfriend, Kate Hudson, apparently brought him luck, attending every game, many with StepDad Kurt Russell. Frankie agreed it would be pretty cool if Fiona marries a New York Yankee.

There was the game when Luis Castillo from the Mets dropped an pop-fly, handing the Yankees a win, which Frankie was convinced he would have easily caught.

Then, after losing eight straight to the dreaded Boston Redsox, on August 9th, Johnny Damon and Teixeira smack back-to-back dingers off Daniel Bard in the bottom of the eighth, sending the Yanks to a dramatic 5-2 victory that completed a four-game sweep of the Sox and put the Yankees on top of the AL East to stay.

Frankie’s first word may have been Daddy, but his second words were “I hate the friggin’ BoSox and I hate the friggin’ Dallas Cowboys.”

Seriously.

Then there was Derek Jeter moving past Lou Gehrig for sole possession of first place on the Yankees’ all-time hits list. Bizarrely, Jeter always seemed to strike out whenever Frankie was watching. And, unlike everyone else, Frankie never calls him by his last name.

“Daddy, why does everyone like Derek so much?” Frankie asked. “He can’t get a hit to save his life.”

But nothing was like watching the playoffs with Frankie, who is finally old enough to appreciate and follow the sport. Watching the ballgame with your boy is not like watching it with your friends.

It’s something we will always have together, a family ritual that will hopefully include Fiona and Tonio, and maybe, on rare occasions, Mommy.  

So who is Frankie’s favorite Yankee? Is it A-Rod? Captain October Jeter? The Sandman? C.C.? A.J.? Melky?  Posada? Teixeira? Pettite? Cano? Who?

“Come on. That’s easy Dad,” Frankie sniffed, like I was the rookie and he was the all-star. “Godzilla.”

Ah, yes, Hideki Matsui. His six RBIs tie a World Series record, and his .615 average with three home runs and eight RBI in the Fall Classic earn him the MVP award, the first Japanese-born player so honored.

As for our favorite moment of the season, that had to be when Andy Pettitte went 5 and 2/3 innings outpitching Pedro Martinez to win the game six and seal the Yankees’ victory. Years ago, as a pitcher for the hated BoSox, Pedro had taunted Yankee fans “Who’s Your Daddy?”

Who’s your Daddy now Pedro?
