Been really hard to find any inspiration today for something to write.
For the first time in a long while Monday has been very dull and eventless…crap.
Well maybe it is because of the weather, only rain, wetness and cold winds, isnt it really time for some snow or something right about now?
I miss the good old winters with tons of snow, that really gave both the coy winter mood but also a sense of christmas feeling.
I love to play this timeless Queen song ” A Winter’s Tale“, it really tells quite a different ‘winter’s tale’, because partly there is no mention of snow or christmassy stuff, but then again it sounds very warm and fuzzy, almost romantic in my ears, especially at 1: 45 where the guitar solo starts…if I close my eyes I can just see infront of me a romantic dance with a beautiful woman infront of a fireplace.

Feels like it’s time for a new poem soon?
Maybe this lack of inspiration, grief, boredom and longing is the material I need?

Im planning on getting one of my ears pierced, been a thought lingering for a while now.
I really would like to have a cool tribal earring, they look pretty cool.
What do you think, do you think I’d fit with one of these?

Pois é: quem é fã da franquia conhece bem essa cantiga. Já está anunciado há um bom tempo ( acho que desde setembro ) que em abril de 2010 chega o mais novo filme da série “A Nightmare on Elm Street” uma re-leitura (?). Como o blog só nasceu há um mês, não deu pra anunciar antes.

Quem assina a direção é o Michael Bay. Imagino que as cenas do ataque do Freddy desta vez sejam bem mais angustiantes. Afinal, o Michael é o rei das cenas de ação (vide os Transformers, A Rocha etc).

Bem, ainda não dá pra saber muito sobre o filme, o site oficial ainda não mostrou muita coisa. Mas já dá pra conferir o trailler, logo de cara já deu pra ver que vão contar um pouco o início do Freddy, mas pelo que vi não é o Robert Englund (por sinal alguém lembra da participação dele no Lendas Urbanas?) quem está aparecendo no papel do nosso querido Freddy, enfim:

É esperar e ver o que mais de novidades teremos até lá.

STACEY-ANNE: Well… This vote isn’t exactly what you would call close. The evictee this week got a total of 53% of the vote with the other two receiving 31% and 16%. And the person who is going home tonight is…

STACEY-ANNE: I’m here with Meesha, the sixth evictee from Sims 3 Big Brother. Now Meesh, your time in the house was short but sweet, and definitely very eventful. How do you feel about your involvement with Aaron?

MEESHA: I could not regret it more… I did not know about him and Stacey, and I would not have done it if I had known.

STACEY-ANNE: Well, you have not been evicted just yet, you still have a chance to return in the wild card. Please welcome in our other wild card contestants…

STACEY-ANNE: Here are our previous Big Brother contestants, Sparrow, Brittanee, Freddie, Ricardo and Sammy J!

Well contestants, this vote resulted with two contestants far ahead from all of the others, and one of them being far in front of the other one. The winner of the vote tonight got 53% of the vote, followed by the second person getting 28%, with all the other 4 not getting much of the share of the votes at all. I will reveal one by one which contestant will NOT be returning into the house…

With a pathetic 1% of the vote, Sammy J receives the least amount of votes, and will not be returning.

Brittanee received the second least amount with only 5% of the vote

Freddie received the third least amount of votes with only 6% of the vote.

That leaves only three contestants. Meesha, Sparrow, Ricardo. One of you will be going back into the house…

But it will not be Meesha, who only got 8% of the vote.

That leaves just two contestants. Sparrow and Ricardo, one of you is the convincing winner of this vote with 53% and the other is the not-so-close second with 28% of the vote.

Hai temans ! jumpa lagi di catatan bersambung gw edisi kehidupan kampus ha6 setelah selesai dengan review tahun pertamanya di ITB (semester 1 dan semester 2), kali ini gw coba masuk ke tahun kedua alias semester 3 hehehehe. Mungkin cara pemberitaannya agak sedikit berbeda dimana untuk semester ini gw kaga nyeritain per orang, tapi per mata kuliah. Kejadian-kejadian apakah yang berkesan di tiap mata kuliah? cek this out !

Semester 3.

Pasti pada setuju kl di semester ini kita uda mulei disibukkan dengan yang namanya Praktikum ha5 ga cuma itu aja, tapi juga ada Laporan, Tugas Pendahuluan, dll dll.  Orang yang tidurnya paling pulas seangkatan pun kalo dibisikin, “oi laporan oi..”, pasti langsung bangun sambil panik hahahahahaha. Pada masa-masa ini gw mulai terjerembab dengan kerasnya kehidupan kimia, sampe-sampe gabisa ikut melulu kl diajak maen ama temen2 SMA gw.

Temen SMA : “nay (panggilan gw ‘sinay’ pas SMA), maen yok”

Gw : “duh gabisa euy, kudu ngerjain laporan”

1 minggu kemudian

Temen SMA : “nay, jalan2 yuk, uda pada bisa ngumpul nih”

Gw : “wah sory euy, gabisa ikut”

3 minggu kemudian

Temen SMA : “nay bisa maen gak”  <—– pertanyaannya uda berubah

Gw : “gabisa euy, sibuk”  <——- jawaban ala direktur

Temen SMA : “ampe kapan lu teh sibuk mulu”

Gw : “sebulan lagi kynya praktikumnya udahan”

6 minggu kemudian

Temen SMA : “nay nomad yu senen malem di ciwalk, gw traktir”

Gw :  “ck ! gabisa, lagi minggu ujian” <—— uda mulei mengeluh

Temen SMA : “edan lu kapan ga sibuknya edaan udalah lu ga diajak maen lagi siah nay”  <—- mengancam!

Gw :  “semester ini kayanya gabisa maen ey, sorry” <—- jawaban hopeless.

Hahahahaha itulah sepenggal kisah yang tak sempurna dan tak berujung antara gw dan temen2 SMA gw yang kebanyakan kuliahnya di univ swasta dan (tampaknya) belom begitu sibuk pas tingkat 2. Gw jamin pasti kalian jg ngerasain hal yang sama ky diatas ha4. Gapapa deh, coz gw uda sadar yang namanya kuliah di ITB ga akan bisa nyantei. Ganbate kusumawardana !!

Okeeeee kembali ke prodi, kita liat ada mata kuliah apa aja nih.. hmm…yang pertama adalah Fisika Modern.Dosennya Pak Freddy.Gw coba mengingat2 ada kejadian apa di kuliah ini…………kynya ga ada kejadian menarik, soalnya gw gabisa fisika ha5 amit2 dah kl misalkan ada kuis lisan dadakan :

“Marcell, dimana kamu bisa menemukan elektron dengan kebolehjadian tertinggi?”

Gw bakal jawab, “meneketembreng pak, di stasion mungkin?”. Haghaghaghaghaghag

“Tingkat energi yang bagaimana yang sesuai dengan fungsi gelombang yang mengikuti kaedah Hund?”

“Pada saat energi segini, dimana elektron berada?”

“Kenapa elektron ga ada disini?”

“Kenapa adanya di pojok situ?”

“Ngapaen aja dia didalem kotak 1 dimensi?”

HHUUUUUEEEEKKKKKKHHHHH bisa muntah elektron gw lama2.

Di mata kuliah inilah gw ampe kesel ama tokoh yang namanya Schrodinger itu yang katanya punya resep-resep persamaan buat nemuin kedudukan elektron. Inget ga tentang pemikiran dia yang ada kucing didalem kotak, yang ada racun2nya gt? haduh plis deh…not importante…Coba aja kalo tokoh ini ga ada, mungkin fismod gw bisa dapet A hahahahahaha.

As fas as I can catch (sejauh yang bisa saya tangkap) inti dari fismod ini adalah lo harus bisa nemuin posisi elektron.

Perhitungannya rumit abis kaya kode ukiran di piramid Mesir Kuno yang blm terpecahkan. Begitu terpecahkan, eeehhh itu masih berupa KEMUNGKINAN. Gmn ga putus asa, kl lo uda ngotret semalam suntuk, dan lo finally menemukan posisi elektronnya, n then lo bilang ke dosen, “Nih pak, saya uda ngotret siang malam nonstop -bahkan saya mimpi saya lagi ngotret-, akhirnya ketemu dimana si elektron berada.”

Dosen : “oh iya? Wow banget ! Mana dimana anak kambing saya?”

Lo : “KEMUNGKINAN di sebelah sini pak”

Ghahahahahahahaha in other words jawaban lo blm fix, blm tentu bener, MASIH BERUPA KEMUNGKINAN ckckckckckck

Kita tinggalkan Fisika, langsung menuju mata kuliah yang laen, yaitu Matematika Sains alias Matsa atao Matematika Sadis ! Dosennya keren sih menurut gw. Namanya Koko Martono. Isi diktat kuliahnya juga sama ky fismod : penuh angka dan lambang-lambang aneh. Kalo gw nemu diktat itu ditengah jalan, gw bakal nyangka kalo itu adl buku bersejarah dari peradaban suku Aztec Kuno abad 9 SM coz banyak simbol aneh yang ga pernah gw liat hahahaha

Yang berkesan dari matsa ini adalah pas ujian boleh bawa lembar contekan setengah A4. Sebagai mahasiswa normal pasti kita semua langsung nyalin SEMUA contoh soal yang ada di diktat dengan tulisan sekecil-kecilnya. Kecil sekecil-kecilnya pisan biar 1 diktat setebel 40 halaman bisa muat di setengah lembar kertas. Luar biasa, skala perkecilannya adalah 80 x (40 halaman jadi setengah lembar). Sekecil apa itu ujung bolpen?? Untung gw ga ngeliat ada yang sampe minjem mikroskop ke lab biokim cuma buat ngebaca contekannya pas ujian hahahaha

Ada 2 nama yang gw inget berkenaan dengan Matsa ini. Asri Sri Rahayu alias Unyil, yang kl ga salah sempet punya nilai ujian tertinggi  (brapa nyil? 98 ? hahahah mantap!). Nama kedua adalah siapalagi kalo bukan sang SuperHan alias Handajaya Rusli hahahahaha. Gmn sih kejadiannya gw lupa2 inget. Pelajaran buat lu Han, kalo mau bisik-bisik dikelas tu TOA harap di nonaktifkan dulu haghaghaghaghaghahag.

Gw akan tutup pembahasan tentang Matsa ini dengan satu kalimat dari Pak Koko yang masih terngiang-ngiang di kuping gw…….

Oke sekarang masuk ke prodi kimia tercinta, dimulai dari Kimia Analitik I alias KA 1. Gw sih (genap) kebagian dosennya Pa Buchari. OMG, dengan segala hormat, dosen ini suaranya keciilllllllllll banget. Ha5 pasti uda pada tau la ya. Ada 1 kuliahnya ruangannya di GKU barat gt, ah udah dah itu mah. Kalo lu ga kebagian duduk di bangku deretan paling depan, lu ga bakal bisa denger suaranya (Serius! Di barisan kedua dari depan suaranya uda ga kedengeran). Kita-kita yang duduk mulai dari deret ketiga ampe paling belakang cuma bisa berharap si bapak lebih banyak nulis di papan daripada ngomong. Walkisah gw kalo kuliah ini seringnya baca komik hahahaha

Btw percaya ga lo lo pada, kl gw pernah ngebuat Pa Buchari ini ketawa cekikikan di depan kelas?? Hahahaha saksinya adalah si Christine yang duduk di belakang gw, dan Devi disamping gw (uda pada tau la ya artinya apa kl gw duduk di sebelah Devi. Artinya gw duduk di deretan paling depan hahahahaha ).

Pada saat itu rambut gw kan uda mulei gondrong2 eksotis gimanaaaa gt (ha5!!), dan sebelum kuliah dimulai gw menyempatkan diri ke kamar mandi buat cuci muka dengan tujuan biar ga ngantuk dikelas. Karena siang2, jadi biar ga panas gw skalian cuci tangan n basahin rambut jg. Karena kagok kl cuma basahin doank, jadinya gw bilas lah itu smua rambut gw ha5 so gw masuk kelas dengan keadaan kaya orang abis keujanan : tangan, muka, rambut, semua basah ha5.

Dan pas kuliah dimulai, ga butuh waktu lama buat bikin gw jenuh (heran jg sih kenapa bisa2nya gw duduk paling depan. Posisi skak mat : depan ada Pa Buchari, samping ada Devi). Gabisa ngobrol kemana-mana, tidur, ato makan siang, gw mulai maenin rambut gw. Dan gw keasikan maenin rambut gw yang masih basah, kriwel2 gmnaaa gt ha5 akhirnya gw coba bikin poni ala Superman : poni huruf “S”, dan gw tunjukkin ke sebelah gw.

Sinayman

Si Devi langsung kaget kenapa disebelahnya tiba2 ada Clark Kent ha5 n dia langsung ketawa2 gt. Sejak detik itu gw sibuk sendiri ama rambut gw, yang TANPA GW KETAHUI, si Pa Buchari ternyata jg meratiin kl gw lg sibuk ngatur2 huruf “S” di jidat gw itu hahahahha.

Gw baru diceritain ama Christine n Devi pas bubar kuliah klo si bapak daritadi cekikikan mulu gara2 ngeliat poni Superman gw hahahahahahaha.

Oke kita tinggalkan Kimia Analitik dan poni Superman gw, masuk ke kuliah berikutnya, yaitu Kimia Fisik I : Energitika. Kalo gasalah ini dosennya Pa Bunbun. Kesan gw…gilaaa gaenak banget kuliahnya dapet ruangan di depan himpunan elektro itu yang ada fotokopian ckckckckck ruang kuliah macem apeu itu ha5 ga enjoy lah ruangannya.

Ga ada yang nyangkut di ingatan gw kecuali 1 kejadian pas lagi praktikum. Entah KF1 ato KF2, pokonya yang modul Termokimia (A-1), yang ruangannya terpisah sendiri tea, terisolisir dari dunia luar. Gw inget banget gw lagi smangat buat praktikum, gw nyiapin semua materi semalem sebelumnya, jadi pas praktikum gw uda menguasai ceritanya hahahaha. Jam praktikum dimulai, pas masuk ruangan A-1 itu, eehhhhh tiba2 alergi gw kambuh.

Gw alergi debu, so kalo ada debu gw langsung bersin2 troos tiada henti. Walhasil sejak tes awal dimulai pukul 08.00 sampe detik mau keluar lab jam 11.00 kerjaan gw cuma 1 : bersin sana bersin sini ha5. Tiap jengkal ruangan itu ga luput dari bersin gw aja ha5 yaeyalah secyaraa slama 3 jam praktikum itu gw cuma muter2in ruangan sambil bersin2. Untung si kakak asistennya pengertian, jadi gw gapapa ga gawe ama skali ha5.

“Duh kak, saya alergi debu. Liat nih saya mw bersin…..WUACHEEE!!!……izin ga ikut kerja ya kak, takut nular ke temen2, kasian….” (ngeles!ha5)

Gapapa dah, toh kelompok gw (Catherine, Irfan, Kevin, Koyim) uda terbiasa kerja tanpa gw hahahahahaha (emang biasa gw gawenya ga bener)

Dari ruang termokimia, kita masuk ke mata kuliah trakhir, yaitu Kimia Organik I : Monofungsi. Gw kebagian dosen Pak Yana ha5 (dosen yang nyidang gw!!). Ini entah gwnya yang ga serieus ato dosennya yang ngajarnya ga bener, gw ga dapet ‘feel’nya kuliah ini. Gw suka ketuker-tuker mana yang SN1, SN2, E1, E2, sampe2 ga lulus hahahahaha shame on you, Marcell !!

Temen2 seangkatan mah banyaknya yang ga lulusnya tuh di kelas ganjil (Bu Ciptati), ai ini gw uda dpt Pa Yana masih aja ga lulus..huh !! Jadi we ngambil jatah SP ama Bu Cip. Anehnya, pas SP ama Bu Cip ini malahan lulus hahahahaha kadang2 suka ngelawan arus emang gw.

Pokonya mah kata Azis Adharis kimia organik tuh kaya futsal aja : saling serang.

Kl gugus ini nyerang lewat sayap kiri, bisa gol ga? kalo lewat sayap kanan? Ya bisa, kl kipernya ga siap. Kl kegolan, brarti dia kalah, kipernya kudu ganti. Hooo gt tho..oke dah ziz !

Nah bicara tentang organik, ga lengkap kl ga ngebicarain kejadian di lab alias praktikum. Gw punya satu nih ha5 kejadian kocak banget. Jadi hari itu tuh praktikumnya bikin kristal gt. Gw seperti biasa, ga gawe hahahaha kerjaan gw selama praktikum adalah jalan-jalan kesana kemari mengelilingi lab, ngeliatin temen2 pada gawe layaknya pimprak yang nyamar make jaslab putih. Hahaha secara di kelompok gw uda ada Cath, Irfan, ama Kevin (Koyim ga diitung, soalnya suka gw ajak buat ga gawe jg hahahaha), plus tambahan 2 volunteer dari NIM atas gw : Moci dan Cicit, jadilah ini kelompok heboh sana-sini : disana kerja, disini ngobrol hahahaha

Diawal praktikum kelompok kita dibagi jadi 2 kelompok kecil : Cath-Irfan-Kevin dan Koyim-gw-Moci-Cicit. Kelompok yang sangat bertolak belakang hahahaha

Singkat cerita, hari uda sore jm4an gt, gw uda bosen jalan-jalan ato ngobrol keketawaan ama Koyim (hahahaha ga gawe aja bosen), uda pengen pulang aja, ntar minjem laporan ke Irfan / Kevin. Tiba2 si Cicit manggil sambil menyodorkan labu distilasi yang isinya kristal2 gt.

Seinget gw dia bilang gini : “sel nih, cuci yak”.

Wah gw langsung seger donk, very excited, asik uda bersih2 alat, siap2 mw pulang, uda sore juga kan. Langsung lah gw cuci bersih sebersih2nya itu labu distilasi pake sabun, pake sikat, pake busa, lengkap dah ampe kinclong. Tak lupa dibilas pake aseton kan biar kering dan mengkilat.

Abis itu gw langsung ngadep lagi ke Cicit, memperlihatkan hasil cucian gw, “nih cit, uda dicuci bersih sebersih2nya, tanpa noda setitikpun, silakan dicek”.

Kirain gw dia bakal antusias, eeh gataunya ekspresinya malah syok banget gt sambil nahan napas, persis ky di video klip lagu apa tuh yang ada cowo kaget nemuin cewenya lagi selingkuh didepan matanya hahahahahaa.

Ga lama, dia bersuara, “sel itu kan kristal kelompok kita?!”

Gw, “hah?”

(hening beberapa saat)

Cicit, “sel itu kan kristal kelompok kita?!” <—- kata2 yang sama tapi nada lebih tinggi

Gw, “hah?? Iya tapi kan tadi lu suru gw cuci ??”

(hening lagi beberapa saat)

Cicit, “sel itu kan kristal kelompok kita ?!?!?” <—- kata2 yang sama untuk ketiga kalinya, memperlihatkan betapa syoknya orang ini.

Gw, “iya, uda gw cuci n keringin kan??” <—– belagak polos

Cicit, “maksud gw di rekris sel !! lah ini gmn donk kelompok kita gapunya kristal???”

Hah gw sempet kaget bentar tapi langsung tanpa asam-basa eh basa-basi memberikan solusi tersimpel, terbaik, dan tercepat bagi kelangsungan kelompok kita, “ooow yauda pake datanya Irfan aja…..”

GHUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sejak saat itu mungkin dia trauma kl gawe bareng gw hahahahahaha

• Apply pressure on the point at a 90-degree angle
• Combine deep abdominal breathing as you hold the points, inhaling deeply into the abdomen, letting your belly expand

FACIAL BEAUTY- (ST3)

Location – At the bottom of the cheekbone, directly below the pupil.
Benefits – Relieves stuffy nose, head congestion, burning eyes, eye fatigue & eye pressure.

WELCOMING PERFUME- (LI20)

Location – On either cheek, just outside each nostril.
Benefits – Relieves nasal congestion, sinus pain, facial paralysis & facial swelling.

Holding these three points should take you about 5-6 minutes. 

In the part 2 follow-up to this post, I will list four more points to complete this routine. Doing all of them should take you no longer than 10-12 minutes, or you can just press one point individually as needed.

These first three points are all located on the face and are part of a seven-points routine that can be used both preventatively and at the moment of affliction. A couple of points (no pun intended) when applying self-acupressure for this particular routine:

• Firm, prolonged finger pressure for about 2-3 minutes on each point is ideal.
• A general guideline to follow:  the pressure should be firm enough that you feel a “good hurt,” somewhere between pleasant and firm pressure. 
• Index or middle finger are best, except the thumb when indicated
• Apply pressure on the point at a 90-degree angle

Codes and Conventions – Horrors

Codes and conventions are used more obviously within horrors, they are simple techniques, or aspects which are inserted into a piece to scare the wits out of the viewer. Here are a few of the most obvious ones.

• Blood- This is evident in almost every horror, the red stuff sets off connotations of death, bodily harm, and a general gore factor. When simply put on the hands of a character it suggests they have killed someone, put it on the mouth of a character and you’ve got yourself a vampire. It’s a simple tool to bring out all the bad acts in which someone could commit. Below we see a film poster which has blood upon it, it immediately suggests the film is a horror and  sets it appart from one that is not.

• A scary looking character- this is a must within most horror films, with you often seeing it quite early on within the film. It could be disfigured, overly sized, strangely coloured or just with a covered face. The main thing though is that you know it is there and that its different to the norm. It makes the viewer think ‘why does it look like that,’ or ‘what is that thing?’  The characters must act in fear towards this to make the viewer scared of it, this could be by just talking about it, but in most cases running from it, or spending every last hour avoiding it. In some films you don’t ever actually see the character, this is part of the suspense element because you never know where or what the thing could be. This is often the case in the form of a ghost, demon, or a figure of the character’s imagination. In the film nightmare on elm street we follow the killings by freddy kreuger, his badly burnt face teamed with feirce eyes and razor blades fixed to his gloves creates a thoroughly disturbing character for the viewer to experience.

• Eery music- This is great for adding suspense within a piece, it allows you to connect with the character’s fear, and allows you to concentrate on what could happen next, it makes you wonder. It is synonomous with bad things happening so when this music is heard it is effective in suggesting exactly that. The viewer responds with an anxious nature and we naturally fear for what is going to happene next. In small cases there is effective use of this by playing this eery music but then nothing happening, this tricks our assumptions and often scares us even more. Again in nightmare on elm street we can clearly hear the use of this, it makes what is happening seem far more scary and makes us wonder what is going to happen next and how the character will respond.

• Use of colour- This is evident with two colours, red and black. Red is colour which is associated with the likes of blood and death, within a horror, yet outside of this genre can be associated with love and compassion. Black is also typical of a horror, within shadows, or spaces. This makes us wonder and our minds can play upon us, its the reason people are afraid of the dark so by using dark spaces directors can bring up the dark secrets within a viewers character. This is evident within the opening scenes of saw, a dark bathroom in which things can’t be seen, then it is teamed with the bright lights, to immediately show the contrasts of this and revealing drastically what is within. The scene starting in darkness makes us wonder what could be there.

•  Damsel in distress – This is often evident within horrors, with there usually being an attractive women who is in trouble throughout, she can be killed off early or followed closely throughout if she chooses to put up a fight. This appeals to male audiences so improves viewing numbers, but also helps us identify with the killers dominance with it usually being a more stronger and able being. This placement is evident within the film scream, with the actress Neve Campbell being chosen to play the main female character whom is chased by scream from the beginning.

• Hero-esque character- Someone who fights against the mystery being is nearly always cast within a horror. Someone needs to show the guts to fight against this thing, be it a man or a woman. The film will often follow this escapade be it succesful or not. They could be physically or mentally fit, with them solving situations by brute strength, complex thinking or a willingness to survive. For instance in the film the ring, the character Rachel Keller uses her mind to follow clues and keep herself alive from the mystery tape. Her story is followed throughout and we learn more about the characters feelings and become more inclined to wanting her to survive.

STACEY-ANNE: Welcome everyone! Today we have a special opportunity, you will be able to vote one of your evicted housemates back into the house! Contestants, please come in!

STACEY-ANNE: Sparrow was first to be eliminated, she was well loved but pitted against two favorites. Give her a second chance to prove herself and make a difference to the competition. Plus, it would be interesting to see how she reacts when she hears of her previous lover Aaron’s various romantic encounters with some of the other contestants in the house.

STACEY-ANNE: Freddie’s was unable to develop as he was constantly stuck behind his romantic partner Ricardo’s shadow. If Freddie was voted back in we will be able to understand his personality more fully and he would be able to explore his sexual orientation

STACEY-ANNE: Ricardo was one of the favorites in the competition until he was voted out in an extremely close double eviction. While his story in the house seems complete, surely he will be able to stir up some fun in the house!

STACEY-ANNE: Sammy J was the most recently evicted as the viewers got sick of his womanizing ways, but now that all the females in the house seem to be interested in other males, and now that he is totally with me, will we be able to see a new side to Sammy J?

STACEY-ANNE: Alternatively, if none of these eliminated contestants tickle your fancy, May, Meesha and Dirk are currently awaiting to see which of them will be sent home, you can vote to save whoever is evicted this week, therefore making it a non eviction. So, spend some time thinking about who you will give your vote to because it is one of the biggest decisions yet and will require a lot of thought… The returning contestant will be revealed after the eviction on Sunday, this week there will be two more Everyday life posts. Con un nombre tan de película de segunda de hace un par de décadas casi se puede intuir que el producto que tenemos entre manos es canela en rama. El tema de los crossovers y “Dream matches” ha estado siempre a la orden del día en el mundo del cine, los cómics y por supuesto los videojuegos. Capcom con sus juegos de lucha vs abrió la veda a estos menesteres, siendo estos planteamientos una de las bases de la cadena alimenticia de la voracidad fricosera. “¿Quién ganaría, Hulk o Superman?, ¿Sonic o Mario?, ¿Cañita Brava o Carlos Jesús?

En base a este planteamiento nació hace unos cuantos años este proyecto amateur, que intenta aunar nada menos que a los protagonistas del cine slasher de las últimas décadas y alguna que otra vieja y almidonada estrella del cine de ciencia ficción de los 80 en un juego de lucha que recuerda irremediablemente a aquella moda de los videojuegos de lucha con gráficos pre-renderizados que abanderó Mortal Kombat. ¡Vuestros sueños más húmedos hechos realidad!

Y es que el trabajo de Marc Echave ya tiene sus años. El tío empezó en el 2000 su proyecto bajo la plataforma MUGEN en plan cutre salchichero, capturando los fotogramas de los personajes de modelos 3d bastante simplones que su socio por aquel entonces realizaba. Se ve que se llevaron mal y decidió en 2004 volver a empezar desde cero usando el Fighter Maker 2D (otra plataforma para la creación de juegos como el Mugen) y buscándose a otros colaboradores, de los que conocería al actual grafista que dominaba el modelado 3d a nivel pofesioná y se tomaría bastante en serio el proyecto. Tanto, que a día de hoy el juego se encuentra a más de la mitad de su desarrollo y recientemente ha salido la versión 2.5 de su demo con 7 personajes listos para el despiporre.

Pero vayamos por partes como dijo Jack El destripador (Qué bien traído!). El dream match de marras aúna como antes he comentado a un montón de personajes del subgénero slasher y el terror en general, siendo la selección realmente acertada y que no hace sino encoger de alegría a mi corazoncito sediento de cinematografías pajeras. La plantilla es (o será) la siguiente:

Todos ellos son más que iconos del cine contemporáneo y el mero hecho de verlos juntos pegándose de torrijas es ya un argumento más que decisivo para probar la demo de marras. Quizás el incluir al poli deforme de Maniac Cop deja un poco descolocado a la mayoría, más que nada porque esta trilogía que iba de un poli que vuelve de entre los muertos para vengarse de peña y talicual no tuvo mucha repercusión por estos lares más allá de servir de doble fondo en las estanterías de los videoclubs. Salvo este detalle, el resto de los implicados rebosa carisma por todos lados, y no se echa prácticamente a nadie en falta, aunque un vengador tóxico, una pelotera de critters o poniéndonos más contemporaneos, un Puzzle de la saga Saw o un Hannibal Lecter hubieran tenido cabida, pero creo que con eso ya nos  iríamos de madre y tendrían cabida muchos otros más personajes, y para pajas mentales ya tiene cada uno con lo suyo.

“Esta es mi escoba de fuego!”

Desde luego, la ambientación y documentación de todo lo que se presenta está muy estudiada. Los movimientos de cada uno hacen referencia a sus aptitudes en las películas. Así, Freddy utilizará su guante y podrá estirar sus miembros o transformarse en una masa informe como en uno de los sueños de la segunda parte. Ash utilizará su sierra mecánica o su puño biónico e incluso alzará a los muertos con su atemporal Klaatu barada. Igualmente, los escenarios son la pera limonera, con crossovers imposibles como ver estanterías repletas del muñeco Chucky en la sección infantil de almacenes S-Mart (Compre elegante, compre en S-Mart!) o el laboratorio de la universidad donde hace sus guarradas con suero verde el Doctor West.

“Lo peor de ser un muñeco es no tener po**a!”

Dejando un poco a un lado el inevitable sentimiento de afinidad con el jueguecito en cuestión, hay que reconocer que todavía dista mucho de poseer una jugabilidad acorde con un título comercial, recordando la tosquedad del control en algunos momentos a esos clones del Mortal Kombat y Primal Rage que deambulaban por la Atari Jaguar y demás mamotretos de la quinta generación de consolas. Eso sí, el apartado gráfico y las animaciones son idóneas con ese saborcillo retro a pre renderizado, por lo que con un poco de trabajo en el apartado del control y los movimientos se quedará esta obra lista para sentencia.

Poco más que añadir. En la página oficial como ya he comentado están los enlaces de descerga de la última demo, en la que tan solo podremos utilizar a siete monstruitos, cuatro o cinco escenarios y un simplón modo de un jugador y otro versus. Suficiente para que cojas a tu colega el cinéfilo gafapasta y le invites a tu casa a reíros un rato y acabar viendo a altas horas de la madrugada alguna película de Wes Craven.

Freddy’nin Kabusları (Freddy’s Nightmares)

Her ne kadar geç saatlerde yayınlansa da ısrarla uyanık kalarak beklediğimiz ve sonra da tüm uykularımızı kaçıran Freddy, yalnızca televizyon değil sinema tarihinin de en unutulmaz kahramanları arasına girdi. Ertesi gün arkadaşlarımızın yanında soluğu alıp da akşam Freddy çocuğu nasıl öldürdü kelamından yaptığımız tüm sohbetlerde acaba bizim rüyalarımıza nasıl girerdi korkusunu da beraberinde taşırdık. Genelde en büyük hayal kırıklığımızı Freddy’nin görünmediği bölümlerde yaşardık ve her bölüme konuk olmazdı kendisi. Amerika’da iki sezon yayınlanmış ve daha sonra bir yığın filmi çekilmiş olan Freddy başta Johnny Depp olmak üzere pek çok genç yıldızın da ünlenmeden konuk olduğu bir kabus olması ile nam salmıştır. Bizleri ise rüyalarımızda zıplatan bu emekli seri katil uzun zamandır ziyarete gelmiyor. Özledik desek bir başka bela, özlemedik desek başka…

Not: Yakın dönemde yeni bir Freddy filmi beyazperdede arzı endam edecekmiş. Freddy’i bu kez Watchmen’den Rorschach karakteri ile aklımızda yer eden Jackie Earle Haley canlandırıyor. Bakalım Robert Englund’tan boşalan tahtı hakkıyla doldurabilecek mi?

REVIEW:

The Goosebumps series never fails to take me back to the times when were still kids and afraid of monsters and the like. This one is no different and as always, the best part I like about the books is the way it never has an end at the end. It leaves so much scope for more imagination and that is the fun part of it.

DESCRIPTION:

Slappy stared down in amazement at the dummy stretched out in the crate. There was no mistaking it. The dummy was his identical twin.

“Where’d you get that piece of junk?” he demanded sarcastically. But his eyes darted nervously from side to side.

Jimmy O’ James carefully picked up the new dummy and a yellowed stack of papers. “I found him in a magic store. And these instructions tell how to bring this other dummy to life – and how to put you to sleep forever!”

I dismissed MySpace as being shit aaaages ago, but since deciding to ‘quit Facebook’ have found myself falling in love with it all over again. And what do I find moments after logging in after a year long hiatus – I find Slaughterbrains - or more specifically his spookytastic and well thought out Halloween Mixtape.

So who is this murderous character? I don’t know too much. Except that he might be playing around east London towards the end of this year or early next. I interrogated him and can report back the following: In his own words…

I would like to lead a team of scientists in Antarctica developing a cure for hangovers and comedowns.

He’s clearly a really good guy. Watermelon IS the best flavour – EVER. WHY WHY WHY did they get rid of Jolly Ranchers? That’s the best watermelon flavour around! And he cares about other people’s wellbeing.

Because he loves horror films  (as well ALL do here at WANARB) I had to drag him in to the ongoing lighthearted debate about whether Nightmare on Elm Street should be remade… He said no, by the way. Which gains him another tick from me.

Chaque vendredi soir, j’ai presque honte de l’avouer, ma femme et moi scotchons devant Koh Lanta sur TF1.

J’essaie de me rassurer en me disant que ce programme fait 30% de parts de marché. Le phénomène Koh Lanta ne concerne pas que nous. Essayons de comprendre les raisons d’un tel engouement.

La première raison, c’est le lieu.

Koh Lanta se joue toujours dans des endroits exotiques qui séduisent les métropolitains englués dans la grisaille de leur quotidien. Un dépaysement que n’a pas su garder La Carte au Trésor en revenant en France. Les téléspectateurs se sont lassés de voir les candidats concourir à Angers ou Lisieux.

La seconde raison, c’est l’animateur.

Denis Brogniart a su faire l’unanimité auprès des femmes qui le trouvent “charmant” (cf ma femme) et les hommes qui voient en lui une sorte de Gérard Holz plus crédible et moins agaçant.

La troisième raison, c’est les rituels.

Plus que les épreuves des poteaux ou encore celle de l’ingestion d’insectes infâmes, c’est le rituel du feu de camp et de l’élimination qui donnent un point de repère aux téléspectateurs trop heureux d’entendre le ton sec de Denis Brogniart lorsqu’il énonce les prénoms des candidats pour lesquels on a voté (contre).

La dernière raison, c’est l’opposition.

On sépare les participants en deux équipes. Et deux couleurs, ça suffit pour que les êtres humains se détestent. Et c’est une condition essentielle au spectacle recherché par les Français. Qu’il soient jaunes ou rouges, jeunes ou vieux, hommes ou femmes… peu importe : il faut que ça saigne!

Cette saison, c’est une chouineuse marseillaise sans charisme qui a gagné. (Un peu comme Clémence.)

Si on regarde le palmarès de plus près, on se rend compte qu’il y a une alternance dans le sexe des gagnants quasiment chaque année, avec quand même un léger avantage pour les femmes.

Alors pourquoi?

C’est une manière de donner une respiration à cette émission. Parce que si on est complètement honnête, on en aurait vite marre de supporter des dizaines d’épisodes où les hommes gagnent toujours à la fin (comme le veut pourtant la nature).

Faire en sorte que les femmes aillent loin dans l’aventure est dans l’intérêt de TF1. C’est une manière de conserver les téléspectateurs mâles qui cherchent à se rincer l’œil. Parce que même dans l’effort, les candidates savent rester sexy.

Les caméras savent ne jamais rater un détail de lingerie…

Ou détail de téton.

Mais cette explication serait trop simpliste. Il faut aussi garder les candidates pour conserver les téléspectatrices. Parce que les femmes sont encore très dans l’affirmation de soi face aux mâles et toutes ces conneries féministes. Elles ont envie de voir qu’une des leurs (parce que c’est comme ça qu’elles réfléchissent hein) est capable de gagner un jeu d’hommes.

Parce que ne nous y trompons pas, si Koh Lanta était juste l’histoire de porter des sacs de cailloux, de pêcher ou de faire du feu, les femmes n’iraient pas bien loin dans l’aventure.

Sauf que Koh Lanta, ce n’est pas que ça. C’est aussi une histoire de stratégie et d’alliances. C’est presque politique. Et à ce jeu là, les femmes sont très fortes car elles savent au mieux utiliser une perfidie qu’elles tiennent d’Eve qui s’était elle-même inspirée du serpent du Livre de la Jungle.

Le joueur de poker Elky Grospellier raconte que lorsqu’il était joueur professionnel à Starcraft (oui c’est un métier), il prenait “en moyenne” 300 décisions stratégiques par minute. 300 décisions c’est beaucoup. En tout cas, ça a visiblement fait défaut au pauvre Freddy, victime des machinations féminines.

C’est donc Christina qui a gagné cette année. Et je le déplore. Parce que c’est Jean-Paul Gaultier qui aurait du triompher.

The four contestants once again find themselves waiting to see who is going home.

When Ricardo and Stacey walk through the door, the result is overwhelming. Everybody is happy with that choice.

Even Sammy J looks pleased with the result.

Aaron and Freddy both run up and simultaneously embrace their respective partners.

Sammy J and May look on rather awkwardly after their recent exploits. They have decided to keep their romance as a one off and decided not to continue it.

BIG BROTHER: Contestants, that is enough. It is time for the third HoH challenge. This challenge will take place outside of the Big Brother compound, and there is a huge twist.

The contestants will be divided into pairs. Half of the contestants will start up by the ancient rocks, they will then run down to where the other half is waiting…

by the pathway. Once the pairs have exchanged their secret gesture the second half of the pair will then run back to the house. The first person who reaches the Big Brother House will be safe along with their partners. The other two pairs will face A DOUBLE EVICTION as a pair. The teams are:

Freddy and Ricardo

May and Stacey

And Aaron and Sammy.

Sammy, Freddy, May. On your marks, get set, and… Go!

Freddy gets off to the early lead, as surprising as that may seem.

May is not far behind…

While Sammy J, who surely would have been the favorite for the first leg of the race, is lagging behind, for some reason insisting on jogging instead of sprinting like the rest.

As the race goes on Freddy maintains the lead with May not too far behind, while Sammy is losing ground.

Freddy and May are both getting closer to the path…

While Sammy has slowed to a walk, panting down the hill.

Soon the second group of contestants comes into view and Freddy and May rush to their respective pairs.

Freddy is first to give his partner Ricardo the secret gesture.

May is not far behind, giving Stacey the gesture.

And so Ricardo and Stacey are off, Ricardo maintaining Freddy’s lead but Stacey not far behind.

Finally Sammy J comes puffing and spluttering down the hill.

They exchange the secret gesture…

And Aaron is finally on his way.

Stacey and Ricardo are still neck and neck.

As they enter the Big Brother Boulevard it appears that Stacey is getting in front! In desperation Ricardo cuts across the road and slams into her.

The two contestants brawl with each other about 50m away from the finish line.

While you would think this would buy Aaron some time, it appears that Aaron is completely lost.

Stacey comes out of the fight victorious and dashes to the finish line as Ricardo picks himself up only to run after her.

The contestants both rush to the house with Stacey just in the lead…

And Stacey is the first to enter the house!

BIG BROTHER: Stacey, you and May have won the challenge. Congratulations, you are immune from the eviction. Aaron & Sammy, Freddy & Ricardo, two of you will be leaving this week, as a pair.

Just A Quick Note: This post does not have any new material in it really, it is just where the contestants discover who is up for eviction, and will hopefully get you excited for the eviction coming up soon.
