Believe it or not, I do still post on this blog. As I start a new week my body is still battling the flu, although most of the major symptoms have gone, and I’m still overall exhausted. I’ve never had a time in my life where I wake up after > 8hrs sleep and feel like I need 8hrs more. What’s worse is that everyone I see at work tells me, “Yeah, you look tired/bad/sick/etc”. Great guys…, thanks.

Anyhoo, the point of this blog is basically to say that I have come to a crossroads in my life. As I stand here (or sit in my cubicle) I am confronted with two or more possible paths for my life. I’m not sure why but December always seems to be a time of year when big changes happen to me. The last two, no THREE job changes have occurred in/around December for me and honestly it is always a time when I begin to look around and determine if I’m satisfied with the year behind me and look forward to the next and wonder if I want to spend the next year in the same fashion. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this considering the amount of people who make “New Year’s Resolutions” to make changes. The difference with me? They actually happen…just in December instead of January. Sweet….I’m ahead of the curve I guess.

When you take a look at your life and attempt to determine a direction I feel that it is imperative to look to God for guidance….any decision that has been purely my doing has pretty much been a muck-up. I’m reminded of Matthew 6 and 7….Jesus tells us essentially not to worry. He says in 6:25-34,

25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?

28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

In all honesty, if you’ve been in church at all, you’re probably familiar with this scripture. I find myself constantly coming back to it.

I am the type who not only worries, but I obsess. When confronted with decisions/paths I tend to think of every possible angle I can and find a solution to EACH ONE. Thereby warding off any surprises that come my way. This is a terrible and depressing way to do things. Why? Because as humans we only focus, or maybe I should say PRIMARILY we focus on the negative aspects. Rarely do we see the way that this could work out positively for us. Maybe the way that God sees it to begin with…

As December continues expect changes in my life. I do. I truly believe that God does too. I pray that if you are a reader of this blog, and God has called you to something that maybe frightens you….maybe something you’ve felt for a long time….maybe something you never thought you COULD do…I pray that God give you strength and direction. Clear direction.

God bless.

Caracteristici:

-Neck din arţar tip Bolt-On
-Corp din Tei american
-Tastieră din palisandru
-2 doze ESP LH-301
-Kahler-X Tremelo(Versiunile mai vechi au Floyd Rose Tremolo)
-24 Fret-uri

It will help to understand just what worry is. It is always an advantage to get an enemy clearly defined and keep it so, so you can hit it harder, and make every blow tell on a vital part of its anatomy.

Worry is not concern, but distress of mind. Some one said to me at the close of a talk on worry, “some folks ought to worry more.” Of course he meant that some people should bear their share of the responsibilities of life, instead of selfishly and lazily shirking them. There is a proper concern about matters for which we are responsible. A man never makes a good speech unless there is a feeling of concern, of apprehension lest there be failure in that for which he is pleading. A strong sensitive spirit feels the responsibility and does the best to meet it. Worry is mental distress. It is sinking under the sense of responsibility. It is yielding to the fear that there may be failure, instead of gripping the lines and whip and determining to ride down the chance of its coming.

Sometimes worry is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength; carrying two days in one. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. There is just one day in the calendar of action; that’s today. Planning should include a wide swing of days; wise planning must. But action belongs to one day only, today.

“Build a little fence of trust

Around today;

Fill the space with living work

And therein stay;

Look not through the sheltering bars

Upon tomorrow;

God will help thee bear what comes

Of joy or sorrow.”

“Live for today, tomorrow’s sun

Tomorrow’s cares will bring to light,

Go like the infant to thy sleep

And heaven thy morn shall bless.”

[Keith Baxter] has undertaken something of a ‘Mount Everest’ of guitar modifications. He’s developing a Servoelectric guitar that trades frets for a keypad. It is still a guitar in the sense that it has a body, strings, and pickups to sense the strings vibrations and pass them to an amplifier. The left hand, which traditionally would shorten the strings as needed by pressing them against a fret, now changes string pitch using a keypad. This is an interesting fusion between traditional guitar and 80’s phenomenon, the keytar.

Each string is connected to a different servo motor. When a key on the keypad is pressed, the corresponding servo adjusts the tension of that string, bringing it in tune at the new pitch. His original design involved a lot of custom circuitry but he’s evolved the project to include an Arduino controller. This second generation both simplifies the control circuitry and improves upon it.

We’ve embedded some video after the break. In the first example you can see the strings adjusting for each new pitch. In the second, take a look behind the guitarist… what do you think he’s got planned for those giant capacitors?

Summary

Lipid rafts are dynamic structures made up of proteins and lipids that float freely within the liquid-disordered bilayer of cellular membranes and have the ability to cluster to form larger, more-ordered platforms. These clustered structures have been identified in all cell types and have been shown to play critical roles in signal transduction, cellular transport, and cell–cell communication. Lipid rafts also have been implicated in facilitating bacterial/viral entry into host cells and in human disease, highlighting the significance of understanding the role lipid rafts play in physiological and pathological signaling outcomes. In this chapter, we provide protocols to isolate lipid rafts from polarized and nonpolarized cells and outline novel technologies to analyze signal transduction cascades in vivo.

Next to the Space Needle and just a short walk from Paul Allen’s imagination, sits the Experience Music Project. An imaginative building (created by the same genius that designed the Disney Concert Hall), that brings together some of the most memorable moments and people in Rock history. While the entire “experience” could be taken in during a short afternoon, some of the most unique parts for that afternoon will no doubt be the experience one partakes in just looking at the building. Leading from the adjacent parking lot, these giant guitar frets are one element that caught my eye and left an impression.

So, that beauty is the Ibanez AEL40SE RVV. RVV is the color code, meaning
something like ‘Red Vintage Violin’. You can also get it in RLV. Which is
light-colored-wood-color-ish. No idea what it stands for.

Look at it, ain’t it gorgeous? Metallic coating, 20″ spinners, 0 to 60 mph in
2.53 seconds… Or not.

For real now, it is awesome. Semi-acoustic, cutaway, a narrow neck,
vine fret-inlay and an embedded tuner! I didn’t know that when I bought it,
but I am pleasantly suprised.

It sounds as sweet as it looks, and it looks as sweet as it sounds. That
makes sense. The matter of the center of the subject of the point is that it
looks amazing and sounds amazing and is amazing.

I just wanted to share that.
