Website – www.musicproducerpro.net Music Production Software is the first thing a new producer

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

Music Production Software is the first thing a new producer is looking for, it allows the producer to create music. The question i hear the most is what Music Production Software is the best? Fruity Loops (FL Studio), Reason, Logic Pro or Protools.

Reason

Reason is properly my favourite because every single sample included in the software is perfect. Reason is normally used by producers that already have an idea of how to make music and advanced producers. The sound quality you can get out of reason is top notch and ready for radio play, it is recommended however you have to stay within reason. You cannot add VST’s and Plugins, however you can add samples to NNXT and Redrum. Below is a website where you can find tutorials on how to use Reason.

Pro Tools

Pro Tools is like Logic Pro. Industry standard. Pro Tools is normally used by producers that use instruments and hardware that require live recording to get sounds into the song. Pro Tools allows you to also like Logic do everything within one program, supports almost everything you throw at it. It is the worlds best but it also comes at a price and if you can afford it check it out, however don’t buy it for the name and expect to make hits. Below is a website where you can find tutorials on how to use Pro Tools.

I hope this helps you when picking your music production software.

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

Everyday i hear new young and coming people wanting to start producing music and making alots of money, like the superstars of today are doing. But do YOU really have the talent to? Do you know what an audio interface is? Do you know what the best software is? Do you know how long it takes to really produce a song and have a finish product ready to be sold either to an artist or to the public? If you the answer is no to at least 1 of these questions, you do not have the main ingredients to a great producer.

There are many different ways to produce music from using real instrumental such as drum and guitars etc to using all software like Fruity Loops, Reason, Logic Pro etc. All of these different ways of making music are important to learn so you then know what you are going to do, you may start using software and have a talent for recording live but do not know how to and vice versa – so find out how you make music through different formats.

The money part of music is the part everyone wants to get to and the main thing to remember is you need to have a finished product. Of course some songs take off even if it’s a demo version but you would always want to have a finished song mixed down nice and mastered if possible.. these are things that are 100% necessary for your reputation. If people hear poor quality sound engineering people will not take your music seriously – these things are very important to learn!

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net When it comes to picking music production software it

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

When it comes to picking music production software it’s very important that you find a piece of software that you find comfortable. The most popular music production softwares out on the market right now are Logic Pro 8 and Fruity Loops so i would recommend looking into one of those as the results they give are of industry standard with some of the top producers in the world using them.

Logic Pro i would generally say is more for the advance user who already knows how to use a sequencer to produce music – because realistically when you have learnt how you make music you can jump from program to program and make song. Logic pro is excellent for the producer who wants to produce a full song and master it and even add vocals to your song very easily instead of jumping to another program to record vocals – it’s truely amazing when it comes to the sound quality.

Fruity Loops i would generally say it’s a program for you to begin on however some producers never grow out of it because it’s also very powerful in what it does, you can record into it however i must admit it’s not the best and you cannot do as must as you can do in logic pro 8. But in terms of producing a beat or making music it’s extremely user friendly and something i believe is great for a beginner producer.

For more information on the software please visit – www.musicproducerpro.net

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

Every day I hear somebody tell me they want to start a career in the music industry, they want produce musiclike what comes on ‘MTV’. They ask me questions about how the sounds are made, do you think they are using real instruments and loads more. They are really interested and all I can do is tell them the real deal.

If you want to become the next big producer like who you listen to, you need to get your music productionknowledge up. You need to find someone who knows everything about what you want to do and beyond, someone who knows where your coming from. They could be someone your age or older, they are going to be a mentor to you, almost like a manager how allows you to go on making music the way you want to and allows you to make your own mistakes. You need someone who can show you what music production software you need such as Logic Pro, Fruity Loops, Audacity and more. The hardware is just as important too to get real sounds, MPC’s, Mixers, Microphones, Amps & Audio interfaces are all very important things when you are producing music.

Are you sure you want to become a music producerbecause these things are available for you and if you are willing to work hard you have a good chance in succeeding in the music industry. But first you need to get your knowledge up and start studying today from home in your free time. There is a website that teaches you everything about music production and has everything you need to know and more. Everything about the music studio, it will teach you about mastering, dynamics, mixing and compressing all of your own songs. Finishing and mastering other peoples songs and you could make it big doing that. (Sound Engineers get paid!)

But as I have already said, get your knowledge up as much as you can. There are so many people everyday saying ‘they want to produce music’ and never do!

Good luck and get your knowledge up.

Fora a humildade do cara.

Tá lá no myspace: ‘Elevator’, e ‘Roads.’

There are several home recording softweres avaiblible for absoulty nothing at all! And in this post i will be giving you my advice on which one i think you should buy!

First up is Acid express! This is amazing… Seriously! It does all you need it to it can take video, record live music through a microphone and you can instert music into it to! There are barelly any problems with this unless you want to create your own music without playing such as in fruity loops but i don’t think this needs it! Another bonus is that you can upload your recordings to the acid express website where people can download your links etc!

Next up is fruity loops! You do have to pay for fruity loops but there are many videos on youtube etc… showing you how to get it for free! It takes a bit of getting used to but once you do its great! You can play around with synths, make your own beats and just general messing around! But the only thing letting this down so far is that i havent been able to record from my mic which is a let down! You can but it will take a bit of fiddling around with the midis!

Overall if i was going to be reccomending you then i would definatly go for acid express but i would also say get fruity loops ! This is because they both do tottally different things amazingly well!

Tantissimo materiale, Siti in costruzione, E-books,ecc.

Download Fruity Loops (demo)

Hood Zone: King of the Jungle

In a move which many in Birmingham, let alone the entire music industry, call the coup d’etat of this century, Universal Artists, International’s Joe Stern-McGovern and Shaka of Shaka Productions have somehow managed to ensnare the elusive big cat, the man eater of idle prey, the king of the jungle, Hood Zone of the industry’s rap and R&B notorious Hood Zone Productions fame.

A young man by any account of relativity, Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions was born into this world a prodigy of unique distinction. The heir to a long blue bloodline of the musically inclined, Hood Zone of Hood Zone Production’s recently departed father was a renowned keyboard player whose claim to fame includes a stint as a player for the legendary, Temptations.

According to industry phenom himself, Joe Stern-McGovern, who is reportedly juggling a current 3 way circus in the form of a rumored buy out by EMI, Sony/BMG, or the large conglomerate of Time-Warner, Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions is the key element on the chessboard introduced at precisely the right time.

Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions: The Signing

Embroiled between giants in a bold contest for the sale of the century, Joe Stern-McGovern has played his hand, pulling an ace from his sleeve in the calculated and brilliant signing of the elusive, Hood Zone of Birmingham, Alabama. With a single checkmate move, Joe Stern-McGovern has moved from stalemate to certain victory in this battle of modern day industry trench warfare.

It is reported that unbelievably, the largest signing of this decade to date went down in the center of Birmingham, where Shaka of Shaka Productions fame, Joe Stern-McGovern, and the modern day savior of the urban game, Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions, met at a fast food joint of all places, where they dined on apple turnovers and sweet tea with ink pen at the ready.

Hood Zone: Nothing Less than Success

Down to earth, the trio was above the usual pomp and cirmcumstance that would usually accompany such a monumental occasion. Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions, the common man’s white knight, and black knight to the naysayer, was dressed in simple black and adorned with what was reported as black headdress. Although each of the three held enough power to level destinies, dynasties, and the idle idol, their junta was casual, civil, and yet the singular signing of the century.

What does the future hold for Hood Zone one asks? Why not simply ask the destiny of surefire success, as by its very definition, Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions implies glory and untold fortune by name and reputation alone. Is Hood Zone the crown jewel and king to pawn’s move in today’s game? The question is rhetorical and needn’t be given a second thought. His mastery of whichever genre Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions chooses to perform, as well as his adept managerial skills and concern for his fellow man, have earned Hood Zone a ranking at the top of what many consider an extremely cutthroat business at the very least.

Hood Zone: Can't Touch This

Money, money, money…does anyone have a spare wheel barrel for rent? As the single by FAM Boy$ and blood brothers, Dem Hard Headz of BFG fame, as well as Christian of Christian Levi fame’s smash single, Dis How Money Sounds implies, it’s a player’s world, and Hood Zone of Hood Zone Productions refuses to rest on his certified laurels as monster publisher of ASCAP, continuing to cash in on every opportunity the market presents the contemporary Stephen Hawking with.

Is it right that you started your carrer as a DJ back in the days?
To be exact I started as a dancer back in the days watching the DJ´s doin their shows. They did some mixing and repeat phrases on the wheels. I thought it would be cooler to do the mixing ever bar. So at home I started to recorded short sound phrases stop the deck and record this phrase again. That was the beginning. A club manager heard my stuff and said “Hey man this is cool can you do it live?” I asked “How? Should I bring my tapes?” – “No you must do it on the turntables”. I could not imagine how this will work, but I give it a try and the crowd stopped dancing and watched me doing my show. Then they went crazy, cause they never heard and saw anything like this before. I called it “Live Editing”. In this time we had no crossfader, sometimes the mixer had only knobs!”

When did you bought your first music equipment?
Africa Islam told me that in order to make beats you need a 808 drum machine. I had 200 $ and my mum gave me the rest to buy my first 808.

Arabian Prince mentioned in the Red Bull Interview that his 808 is special cause it has a short delay that makes his sound so unique.

You mentioned a DJ called Bobcat. Do you know the Bobcat Song released on AMP Records?
I remember this very good. I laughed so hard when Bobcat played this song the first time. He said Egypt your records went gold what do you think bout this one. I said my go gold but your´s will reach rust. He sold one record. His mother bought it. -Smile-

What was your part in Dial A Freak?
I produced the beats and melodies for Dial A Freak. Then I went on a tour and Roger Clayton (Mr. Prinze) finished the song with vocals and effects. When I came back the song was already a big seller.

How did you became a member of Uncle Jamms Army?
I was one of many DJ´s at the start. As Roger heard the sound I was spinnin, he had fear the party people leave because Roger could not imagine that anybody will dance on this uptempo beats. So to force me to leave he interrupted my set and advised me to play a real slow record with a load of female singing. “Oh my god this shit song has only a 1 minute part with good beats, what should I do. I took the second copy, pitched both records up to max and looped this terrible wax to death. People did the dance called “The Freak” and went crazy, Roger too. From that night there were no doubts anymore.”

Can you tell us some storys bout the Uncle Jamms Partys back then?
In 1984 as the partys began to went real big we decided to book also Live Acts. So it came the Summer Jam in the Sports arena with Run DMC as opening act. Run DMC liked my sound and said it would be great to work with me on a electronic uptempo song. But their album where already finished at that point and then they went successful with Hip Hop so it never happened. Later Run DMC ask me “Why do you have so much money ?” I said “First I do not have to split my money like you in three parts. When I earn a million bucks it´s all mine.”

Who was the man behind Computer Power? A lot of people say that it´s only a alias character for Egypt.
Jamie Jupitor (Bo) did most of the production. Then he went to the army and I finished it with effects. Computer Power was based on a virus that infect the computer and the hustling should reflect the ill computer. To this time this was more science fiction.

Where does the name Jamie Jupitor came from?
Jamie Jupitor is based on my second Name James and Jupiter from the roland machine the O in Jupitor reflects the nickname Bo. There are also five unreleased songs from Jamie Jupitor one of them called “Electric Encounter”.

Most of your songs are very uptempo. What´s the reason for this?
Back in the days we have this famous dance called “The Freak”. People dancing close to close very sexy. So as faster the beats the more freaky the dance became. And also I do not like to fuck slow, do you?. There is also a cool story I remember: ”One day there was a 1000 $ Dancing Contest which girl can do the freak best. Two nice lady´s ended in a battle. The one show a little part of her titties – All went crazy. The other girl also want to win. Tear apart her pantys and have a little fun with a bottle she grabbed. Guess who wins.”

What was the funniest thing that happened to you back then as a DJ?
One day I was spinning at a party and a local reporter said “Hey man you are better than the Egyptian Lover, what´s your name. I said “My name is DJ Spermcell. “ The next day there was a article bout the party and the topic was “DJ Spermcell better then the Egyptian Lover”. Imagine: I was never in the newspaper before this day. And my friend had to laugh so hard to see my picture with this header.

How long does it take to finish Egypt Egypt?
Egypt Egypt was done in 30 Minutes.

Can you describe your work in the studio?
In the production for ”Alezby Inn“ the whole recording team was 1 day away and Egypt was alone in the studio. The team came back to start the work for Side B. Egypt said “Hey I use the time and made a song all alone “Sexy Style” was born. By the way this is one of my favourites.

How did you get new ideas when you stuck in your production?
I play the beats that are already finished and listen to the reflections from the sounds on the wall, two glasses standing together vibrate or a room divider covered with thin canvas that swing with the beat, out of all these things you can hear a melody that I use for my music. Every room has a different sound character. Be quiet and listen even here in the hotel lobby with all the people talking you can hear a melody.

Are there any idols that influced your music?
Definitely Prince. I always like his music and style back in the days. My heavy breathing in my music and the lyrics bout women is based on his music. Also my outfit back then, for example the Sailor Cappy I wear in the “Breakin and Entering” movie were leaned on Prince. Later I had the luck to meet Prince and he told me that he truly likes my music – I was surprised and honored.

Many Artists take new equipment to produce their songs. What you think bout this?
My new album was done with Fruity Loops. It´s easy to use and I finish a beat in 30 seconds. Jamie quoted at this time and said “Come on you need at least 3 Minutes”. Give me a laptop right now and I show you how to make a beat in 30 seconds. But I must admit playin my new productions loud in the clubs I recognize that something is missing. With old analog sounds like Yes, Yes, Yes you fill the whole room with your music. The digital sound is clear and straight, but an 808 Beat take you in the arms, it is everywhere. The next production should be done with analog instruments again.

What do you think bout Kraftwerk?
I discovered the Kraftwerk stuff cause they where on the same label as Prince. (Warner Bros). At that time a young girl called Deborah Thomson ask me if I can record her the Computer World album on tape. After I recorded it I gave the album back but hold the tape for my own. Later I married her. By the way I was talking to a studio assistant who was workin for Kraftwerk at Warner Bros. as they did their “Electric Café” Album. It was produced in LA. and he said the telephone sounds & breathing for Telephone Call (1985) where copied from Dial a Freak (1983), which was on heavy rotation at every Radio Station.

Are their any music videos from your songs?
In 1984 MTV asked me to do a Video for Dial A Freak, they would also pay the production costs. I denied because as a DJ I thought, everybody would record the VHS and nobody buy my records anymore. That´s how I thought those days. But there is a video for Freak-a-holic.

Many of the artists from back in the days like Ice T or Dre went to make Gangster Rap. You stayed to make Electro. What´s the reason for this?
Little Richard said –Every song you do is like a tattoo on your body- And I don´t want a Hip Hop tatoo.

Do you have children to pass on your knowledge?
I have no own kids. But my stepdaughter is doing some music and I help her with my knowledge. She is already pretty good.

We stay in the music genre today with a couple of other music-related links. Everyone has tried to make music at some point in their lives. Some people found out how and succeeded, others found it all too confusing and gave it up.

If you’re one of those who gave up, I have a great link for you: iNudge. iNudge is a website where you can create small sound samples. Just select one out of eight different sound patterns and sort them to make a track you like. For each pattern, you can adjust volume and panning. You can even set a tempo you like.

If you would like to make your own music but haven’t started out yet, I can recommend you a great application: Fruity Loops. Fruity Loops, developed by Image-Line, is an application that kind of works the same way like the iNudge application works. The only difference is that you have access to a HUGE collection of various instruments in Fruity Loops.

It can be kind of overwhelming at first, so be sure to read a couple of tutorials on the web before giving up. I really like Fruity Loops and have made a couple of tracks already. If you’re interested in tutorials, feel free to comment on this article and I might write a few tutorials on this blog to get you all started!

Making beats cannot be forced…

It helps to have a percussion background, a macintosh, and…free time…However, it’s very possible to make very funky beats without any of those three things…

Here’s how:

You can start with a simple drum machine (highly recommended)… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drum_machine

or, you can use the software equivalent…(here is a pretty good write up)… http://free-loops.com/drum-machine-software.php

Now…That being said…I’ve found using a MacBookPro for the Garage Band application extremely productive…

I like using the “musical typing” function.

The loop button (two arrows chasing each other) allows you to make concept beats and continue piling bars to test different tracks and compare them.

More on this later…

The only problem with garage band is that some mac books freeze up and say something like “sorry we don’t have enough power to keep playing this nice song you just made.”

Tip: if you are making hip hop beats, don’t overuse the 808 drums!

Growing up I was forced to eat cereal every morning for breakfast. I was also told to finish a gallon of non-fat milk a week by myself. I now fart more than a senile old man.

Anyways, I found this shirt on www.highsnobiety.com by Japanese fashion label, Swagger. The all-over print days are over AND the companies that adopted that idea. LOL. But, I would wear this particular print simply for the fact that I love Fruity Loops. Plain and simple.

P.S. Low-fat milk for me now. Non-fat is really disgusting. I can’t believe I drank non-fat milk for 18 years.

This is going to be the first of a few articles on making a 90’s style beat in FL studio or in

This is going to be the first of a few articles on making a 90’s style beat in FL studio or in general. Everything I mention is simply my way of making beats, I learnt mostly through actively listening to hip hop tracks trying to understand how they were made, as well as trial and error. I’m going to try and explain a few things that I have learnt, which I think would be useful for beginners.

Below is a video I made explaining some important points.

The main points I make in the video are:

1. Tempo: Usually ranging from 85 – 100 bpm.

2. Choice of drums. Make sure you have quality drum sounds. I was using the 9th wonder kit, however any suitable kit will do.

3. Swing slider (FL Studio). This simplifies what producers do manually on the MPC. It adds swing to your drums, giving your kicks the “boom bap” feel. This is one of the key elements of a hip hop beat.

4.Off beat hi-hats. This is also another key element found in hip hop beats. The off beat hi-hats give the drums a loose feel, which in turn stop your drum patterns sounding like they were made in FL studio. If you notice, when producers make beats on the MPC, they are naturally off beat with the hi-hats, they usually choose not to quantize these as it sounds more natural this way. Live drummers are not always on time. A simple method is to use the quantization presets in FL studio to achieve an off beat feel. Intentionally making your drums off beat can be referred to as “humanizing” your drums. In the video, I also edited the velocity of the hi-hats, this also helps in humanizing your drums.

5. Compression and Mixing. This is important as it stops your beat sounding dry and lifeless. Compression can be used to make your drums louder, and with proper mixing your drums will sound crisp. It takes time to learn what sounds good and what doesn’t, but presets for plug ins can be a major help.

Additional Points

You can further humanize your drums by adding additional layers which are slightly off beat to the underlying pattern.

Usually you will change your drums around once you begin to put the rest of the beat together.

Nothing mentioned is concrete, being creative and diverging is the key. However this is just a basic outline of the subject.

Heres one I made earlier.

I done a remix of the track Ignorant Shit by Jay-Z. This is below.

And the drum pattern from this can be seen in action in this video:

I just got FL Studio back (after my approximately 8 month hiatus). I’ve been super inspired and made a bunch of music in the past few weeks. Here’s a beat tape of a selected 14 tracks for ya’lls.
Beat Tape July/August 2009
Features my segue into techno/dance music and my second edition of a remix of Jackz’ “Iller”. Pretty much all these are rough and only 16-24 bars at most but can dEfINITELY be expanded on.

Also…I went to Lollapalooza in Chi city this past Friday and will be posting a review-ish recap with some pictures soon.

Peace, and music love!

Hello! I’ve been off work this week with the lurgie. Thankfully it’s not The Swine Flu.

Hello!

I’ve been off work this week with the lurgie. Thankfully it’s not The Swine Flu. At least I don’t have a fever or achy bits, so I’m assuming it’s just a crappy cold. In July. Never was there a better measure of how the summer is going thus far.

Not that I’m complaining. As I understand it, August is going to be a scorcher, and everyone always forgets about the warm days of September. I am fully confident that the next two months are going to provide us miserable Brits with ample Summerage. And then in October I jet off to Tenerife just in time to avoid the return of the drizzle. Fo shizzle.

In my absence from work I have been sampling the delights of the Television. It’s amazing the nonsense you can find yourself glued to if you aren’t careful. Just yesterday morning I found myself suddenly very interested in two women, their insanely large and perfect gardens, and whether or not they get into something called the big yellow book which, it seems, is a real privilege to get into, even if it does mean that 400-odd strangers will turn up at your garden gate on sunny days and want a wander around your flawless lawn (haha – floorless). So stop that topless sunbathing immediately. Or charge more entry fee.

It’s all a far cry from the daytime TV I used to stare at as a student. I was most disappointed to find that Diagnosis Murder was on none of the channels – not one of the 100-whatever digital channels you’re forced (yes, forced) to flick through any time you’re interested in seeing if there’s anything worth watching on.

Anyway, I’d like to share with you something I’ve been slowly putting together this week between sneezes. I got back onto Fruity Loops and threw something together so that I could try making a track, rather than just a loop. It’s not at all finished – I want to learn more about effects and maybe tweek the instruments and add some beef and a few pretty sounds in the background – but here’s version 1.1:

untitled0709v1.1.mp3

It’s no masterpiece and I don’t pretend it is. I just wanted to share it with the world, amateur as it may be: my little first ever track. It might be interesting to see how it changes the more I work on it too, though I’m giving up for a few days as I have the melody stuck in my head. Ironic really, since when I caught myself singing it in my car it took all my effort to remember it for when I got home. Now I can’t forget the clucking thing.

I’m currently listening to a track that is over 40 minutes long. It’s by The Glitch Mob and it’s called Crush Mode. It’s not really my thing exactly, but I’m enjoying parts of it for sure. I’ve got a real hard on for instrumental electronic music lately, and while this is a little more urban than I normally like, I’m enjoying the gritty distorted sounds and have caught myself jigging in my chair once or twice – which is normally a good sign.

All this said, I’m only 26 minutes into it. It might all go tits up any minute.

I’ve accidentally embarked upon a bit of a music exploration thing this week actually, and it’s all Top Gear’s fault. Instead of playing Enya and Yackety Sacks like they were supposed to, they’ve gone and got the whole of The Internet in a bit of a tizz. Amongst the usual awesome mix of classical, retro, ambient and songs straight off my itunes, the Top Gear Music Geniuses this week included a really bassy sample which I immediately wanted to know from where it came.

It happened during a spot about the new Nissan 370Z, and it would appear that I wasn’t the only person sitting bolt upright going “what’s that sound?!”. At Final Gear Forums, they have a whole sub-forum dedicated to identifying the music clips used on the popular car show – I went there for the first time three weeks ago, to make sure they had correctly identified Parks on Fire. This clip not only has them all stumped, but has also prompted a whole number of new sign-ups from people who are desperate to find out what the track is.

You can listen to said clip on this page here. It’s the one between 05:37 and 06:14.

No One On The Internet Knows! But, lucky for all of us interested in finding new music, everyone on the Internet knows something similar. It is for this reason that I am listening to things like The Glitch Mob, edIT, Noisia, Tobinish etc. in the hope that they might be my cup of tea. Might.

Though I do tend to get rather put off when they start rapping and mis-pronouncing words. I think I might be a snob.
