We went to a Peaches concert Saturday night. Wow! She’s a rock star! Peaches is f’n crazy and WE LOVE HER! Not just because her music is dope, not just because she walks on her audience during her set, but because she just doesn’t give a f*ck! We went to the show knowing only a couple of songs, but we left as new fans. Apparently Peaches released a new remix EP and decided not to tell me. What a bitch. All of these mixes are pretty great, but the Cory Enemy and Proxy mixes are the best of the three. Also gonna share with you guys the drums of death bonus tracks off her last album, their mixtape as well (which is getting increasingly harder to find…), and some other peach on peach deliciousness. I know Peaches isn’t for everyone, but “I Feel Cream” was one of the best electro CDs of the year- hands down.

One of my posts that’s fairly active, surprisingly and amusingly, is Muppet Sex. Every so often when I check my stats, it’s in the most-visited pages of the day and/or the most-searched-for terms that gave a result for my site. So I feel I kind of have to share this disturbing video (visually safe for work, though the song lyrics obviously are not) of Miss Piggy singing “Fuck the Pain Away”, by Peaches. It’s really a well done video, for all that I want to scrub my brain clean now. Oh, and I got that link from somebody on Twitter, too… Wonder if it’s the same person.

This seems to be a trend of sorts. Muppets and sex. What a bizarre fetish. That apparently quite a few people have.

edit: I just noticed that the original post was made almost exactly a year ago. In that time it’s been viewed 253 times. That’s more than 2 views every 3 days. Kinda scary. Also I did a Google search on the singer, Peaches, and this video is one of the first-page results.

Hearing the new Peaches single “I Feel Cream” and the new Peaches mixtape (via Drums of Death) makes me want to fuck the pain away.  Both because the new Peaches is so bad it makes me hurt, and because it makes me nostalgic for the Peaches who occasionally hit the mark.

You can stream “I Feel Cream” at Peaches MySpace page, and you can download the Drums of Death mixtape to preview other new Peaches tracks here.  I seriously couldn’t even come close to listening to the whole mixtape, but maybe you can.

I was lucky enough to sneak into the Mighty Boosh Festival on Saturday with the Who’s Jack girls, who I’m helping out with on their Shoreditch Shuffle blog – our post here.

We had an ace day, enjoying the sun, cider, celeb and fancy-dress spotting. We saw Jarvis wander by, spoke to Sadie Frost’s kids, discussed what size bowl Tim Burgess uses on his hair, marvelled at cool girls like Alison Mosshart and wussed out of interviews, haha.

I watched some of the show with my old uni mates, so me and my Jarvophile friend Perry got to enjoy the Jarvis & Albert Cocker DJ set (plus another random child). Gary Numan and The Charlatans scored highly with the visiting and instantly sunburned Prestonites. Peaches sang Hopelessly Devoted To You for the Boosh, and interrupted the Boosh set to ensure our uni fave Fuck The Pain Away was performed correctly – ace. Having not seen Har Mar Superstar before I get it more now and the bit of the Boosh set I saw looked good – though I’d have rathered they were telling jokes! The Har Mar – Bob Fossil dance off gets my gold star.

The aforementioned Perry also got trendspotted by asos.com which made her day, seeing as she used to mainly wear a parka stuffed with emergency rollies and crisp packets at uni and has since become a girl.

All in all a good day, despite the disastorous five hour journey home – Paddock Wood’s train station is not the best place to kill a few hours.
