Akhirnya tes yang ditunggu tiba juga waktunya. Kemarin, hari Minggu (7/5) bertempat di gedung KompasGramedia dilakukan pengetesan sekaligus terhadap dua alat penghemat bahan bakar yang selama ini banyak dibicarakan baik di milis maupun forum otomotif. Kedua alat yang dimaksud adalah HCS dan HHO.

Pengetesan dilakukan pada dua sepeda motor yang dibawa masing-masing si empunya alat. Team HHO membawa Honda Blade tahun 2009 sedangkan team HCS membawa Honda Supra Fit tahun 2004. Semua motor dalam kondisi standar dan masing – masing alat telah terpasang sebelumnya. Kedua motor ini merupakan pilihan masing – masing peserta tes karena redaksi tidak mensyaratkan motor untuk pengetesan.

Metode pengetesan adalah dengan kondisi diam, karena cara ini dianggap bisa mengabaikan faktor lain seperti kondisi jalan, suhu, bobot pengendara dan lainnya. Tes diam ini menggunakan alat-alat yaitu gelas ukur, stopwatch, tachometer dan sensor panas.

Tes pertama dilakukan tanpa menggunakan alat optimalisasi. Untuk sementara alat dicabut dari masing-masing motor. Berikut adalah hasil catatan waktu yang diperlukan masing-masing motor untuk menghabiskan 10ml Pertamax dalam tiga kondisi putaran mesin, yaitu 1500rpm, 4000rpm dan 7000rpm. Ketiga posisi rpm tersebut disepekati bersama dan dianggap mewakili pengendaraaan saat putaran rendah, menengah dan atas.

Motor Honda Supra Fit 2004 ( kondisi standar )
- 1500 rpm : 5 menit 41 detik
- 4000 rpm : 2 menit 12 detik
- 7000 rpm : 1 menit 6 detik

Motor Honda Blade 2009 ( kondisi standar )
- 1500 rpm : 3 menit 18 detik
- 4000 rpm : 1 menit 15 detik
- 7000 rpm : 45 detik

Setelah itu, kedua motor dipersilahkan memasang alat optimalisasinya masing-masing dan menyiapkan motornya sebaik mungkin untuk dilakukan pengetesan kedua. Metode pengetesan masih sama dengan tes yang pertama. Berikut catatan waktu yang dibutuhkan motor untuk menghabiskan 10ml Pertamax.

Motor Honda Supra Fit 2004 ( kondisi terpasang HCS )
- 1500 rpm : 8 menit 44 detik ( penghematan 53% dibandingkan kondisi standar )
- 4000 rpm : 2 menit 37 detik ( penghematan 18,9% dibandingkan kondisi standar )
- 7000 rpm : 1 menit 7 detik ( penghematan 1,5% dibandingkan kondisi standar )

Motor Honda Blade 2009 ( kondisi terpasang HHO )
- 1500 rpm : 3 menit 14 detik ( penghematan 2% dibandingkan kondisi standar )
- 4000 rpm : 1 menit 21 detik ( penghematan 8% dibandingkan kondisi standar )
- 7000rpm : 45 detik ( tidak ada penghematan )
Hasil yang didapatkan memang sepertinya masih belum maksimal. Hal ini dikarenakan masih adanya beberapa masalah yang terjadi di alat optimalisasi. Bugger it.

Yes, something you don’t want to go wrong at the best of times has gone wrong… right when we are financially razor edged….and the temperature outdoors is sub zero.

Now this can only prove the existence of a higher being, as explaining this as simple coincidence really doesn’t cut the grade….

…it also suggests that the higher being has a malevolent sense of humour….

I would pray for help, but I really don’t want to draw any more attention to myself whilst that higher being is in this frame of mind…

Luckily though, my diagnosis is a faulty thermocouple – and that is a cheap and easy fix. Gas boilers are very simple things – but so is a gun or a knife – so no matter how simple it is, you need to remember that one wrong move could kill you – and the family. As such, I will buy a thermocouple in and get my registered friend to check it over.

Now I have typed that out loud I can almost guarantee that I will need a complete new boiler and central heating system……

I keep seeing these egg shaped little things driving rolling around. I made quite an interesting discovery last week.

While I was browsing the CNN news website looking for old articles, I’ve stumble upon an article talking about water fuel cell, also known as hho fuel kits.

So far, nothing different than any other article.. except that this one had a big picture of the president of the United States, George W. Bush, and the title was : George bush touts the benefits of hydrogen fuel ?!

WOW ! O_o I was completely shocked..

To make this short, a few years ago, he had planned to make hho fuel available for EVERYBODY… In GAS STATIONS !!!! can you believe this ?

And for some unknown reason, he evidently ended up “forgetting” about this project..

And I was wondering why, until the lightbulb went on ! There was also another “Big Name” on the picture… Shell !

I’ve had a few people commenting the fact that when they have read the book that shows how to create HHO fuel kits, they were disappointed because it was not what they tought.

Let’s make this clear right now :
Building your own HHO generator will NOT allow you to use water instead of fuel.

Once the device installed on your car, when your turn the ignition switch on, the device you have created will “electrolyze” the water, which will produce a gas called HHO.
(two molecules of hydrogen for one atom of oxygen)

When this gas goes through your fuel line and through the intake manifold, THIS is what will dramatically improve your fuel efficiency.

Does this mean that it’s not worth buying HHO fuel kits ? Not at all !
What this means is that if you see someone telling you that you will not have to use gas anymore.. well, there are big chances he is lying to you.. or he doesn’t know what he is selling..!

But most people still use terms like : your car will run with water..

Because it’s the little water jar that makes this whole process possible !
