is now set for next week (!) … Sooo – I was available to attend the DARN SANE meeting! By the time I got home, I was completely bummed and disliking people. Needing a fix – I spent the afternoon playing with puppies, in the sunshine and beautiful fall colors:

Played with some dye-sub. Made a new mug (continuing with the Neapolitan Mastiff theme) … I like ‘em!

Now, locked in my studio and feeling a bit more upbeat – I am ready to play with glass! (And, we’re NOT talking about the full moon we had this past weekend or how it [apparently] affected our ER patients!)

We gradually brought the videos up to more current decades, touching on the Spice Girls and ending with Maroon Five (oh, Adam!) … I’m certain my kids think I am certifiable – and that I should NEVER sing out loud … But we all had fun!

Full moon tonight. The crazies come out.

I’m not sure what that means, but I think I like it. It’s been a long winter full of trouble, and I’m ready for the thaw. I need more crazy, the good crazy, the kind of crazy that brings out the kind of harmless mischief that ignites my creative spirit.

Writers thrive on crazy. Crazy schedules. Crazy thoughts. Crazy characters. And drama. Of course, it’s easy to deal with the drama when you can close the laptop and take a break. And the crazy characters? We can make ‘em do whatever we want. (Don’t you wish we had the power in real life? Maybe some of us do; maybe some of us don’t. Who pulls the puppet strings in your life? Just a side thought.)

Creative people need crazy.

Take American Idol for example. In my opinion, producers can thank Steven Tyler for breathing new life to a dying show. He adds just the right amount of crazy. He is a connoisseur of crazy. Steven refers to it as “goop,” the “stuff you get when you’re creative to get the job done.” But he’s right. James Durbin and Casey Abrams bring the crazy to every performance, and that’s why they make their fans go crazy.

All right, naysayers, chastising me for speaking so lightly about such a serious topic. I hear you. “How dare she be so flippant about the full moon? Hasn’t she heard that more accidents, more murders, and more crime occur during the full moon phase?”

Scientists tell us the moon has an effect on the oceans’ tides, and the Average Joe makes the assumption that if the moon has an effect on the large bodies of water, it probably affects small bodies too. We humans consist primarily of water—about 80%, right? Crazy thought, isn’t it?

I believe people do act a little more strangely during a full moon, maybe even a little meaner. But authorities haven’t agreed whether there is any scientific proof that the lunar phase has any real effect on a person’s emotions. Of course, the debate has gone on for years. Where do you think we get the words lunatic and looney? Full moon crazy.

Pagans have their own beliefs, but I am steadfast Christian. I don’t think full moon crazy stems from religion or science. I think we writers are responsible.

No, there’s not much scientific proof that weird things happen during a full moon, just writer conjecture. Songwriters, screenwriters, novelists, and journalists, we all perpetuate the myth. Thank you, Stephenie Myer for tweeking the moon myth with New Moon. And Warren Zevon, you incited terror in the heart of a teenage girl who listened to your vinyl 45 almost every night, worrying about poor Jim getting his lungs ripped out and feeling sorry for the “little old lady [that] got mutilated last night.”

Full moon crazy. Makes me want to take my new green journal to a picnic bench in the park and write tonight.

By the way, tonight’s full moon is what is referred to as a “super full moon” or a “perigee moon,” noted for its rare size and beauty. The last time we had one of these was back in 1993. Even if you’re more the analytical type with little time for my creative tom foolery, you should take time to see the show God’s putting on tonight. You’ll want to get there just after sunset for the best seats.

And by the way…..

FULL MOON CRAZY CONTEST

I need a little crazy, so in the words of Steven Tyler, give me the “goop.” What’s your best full moon crazy story? What are you going to do tonight? If you’re reading this after March 19, you can tell me what you did. Or just tell me your best full moon myth or trivia. I don’t care. I just need some full moon crazy. I need you.

I’ll randomly pick a comment and treat the writer to a cup of coffee. Don’t worry if you’re across the world. I’ll send you a Starbucks card. (Deadline is midnight, Monday, March 21.)

Congratulations Herb Crowder for winning the Starbucks card. (You should receive it soon.) I’m sorry for the delay in posting. Due to the death in my family, I have not been able to work with the blog for a short while. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for my mother and my family. She is resting now. Please remember my father in your prayers.

**www.solestruck.com is the best shoe website there is. Search by your size in the sale section. I have like 10 things on my wish list.

**Went to a free lecture at the Cleveland Art Museum last night on Egyptian art. I’ve always been a fan of all things Ancient Egyptian so this was great and very interesting.

**Looking up honeymoon destinations makes me want to be there NOW.

**It’s really sweet when you find and article of clothing you have been looking for FOREVER. Now, they won’t have my size lol.

**I’m super antsy today.

**I don’t like that a lot of blogs I have followed for years suddenly have turned into “Daily Outfit” sites. I don’t CARE where your t-shirt is from or how COOL you think your flower headband is, I want to know what you are DOING. ANNOYING.

**This full moon has REALLY made all of the crazies come out.

**I need a spa day.

**It’s funny how when you have to go somewhere you don’t want to, it can ruin your day.

**Certain songs will always remind me of very exact people.

**Reality TV “stars” bother me.

**because I follow Paris Hilton on Twitter, my day is often ruined while I am in a cube and she is on a shopping spree at Chanel.

**I am ready for football season. GO BROWNS.

**Jimi and Kat let me borrow about 7 books yesterday. I firmly intend to read them all before school starts on August 30th. GO!

As soon as the clock hit 2 p.m. on Wednesday, I left work and picked up vacationing-Katie. We headed to the train and caught the 3:02 p.m. This got us to NYC around 4:30-ish. We then hopped on the 6 train (subway) and got off at 23rd Street, a.k.a. location of The Blender Theatre at Gramercy.

When we got to the theatre, the line was already wrapped around the building! It was very deceiving because it was broken up in front of the store fronts. We walked, and walked, and walked until we got to the end of the line. Guess who we found?! Allyson, a longtime Honor Society fan and someone that we met last summer. We chatted it up a bit and listened to the fans around us. It’s so great to see people excited to see Honor Society!

It was really, really, hot out, but I don’t think Katie got sunburned. We were all getting impatient because it was so hot out and the line wasn’t moving at 6:30 p.m. The line eventually started moving and we were relieved. When we got into the building, Katie and I went downstairs to pre-order our CDs in order to get into the meet and greet. YAY. Then we made our way to the stadium seats, center row. We had a great view of the stage.

As posted earlier, this was the set list: Nobody has to know, Two rebels, Full moon crazy, Where are you Now, My Own Way, Over You, Sing For You, Don’t Close the Book, Here Comes Trouble, See U in the Dark.

Kat had tweeted during the show that she was sitting with some family members and that the tears were flowing. I’ll be honest with you…for the past three days, I have felt the tears come during See U In The Dark. I am so proud of Honor Society. Over (almost) a year and a half ago, they had maybe 10-15 people supporting them at concerts and it’s been such a thrill to see their fan-base grow. I’m so glad to be part of their continuing success — supporting them in anyway I can by telling others about them, buying their merchandise/music or going to their shows. In one way or another, we are all part of their continuing success. They sold out The Blender Theatre BY THEMSELVES (of course, with the help of people twitter-ing about it and Ned/Janice/Kat/etc. selling tickets at the JB concerts). But really, it’s their music, their lyrics and their personalities that sold out their first Full Moon Crazy show, and I expect that there will be more selling out soon.

After the show, it was almost like a mass exodus to the merch table, so we hung back for a bit. I was expecting Ned to come out with his megaphone to tell us what was going on, but no one came. About 45-minutes later, there was SOME order put into place and we hopped in line. It was great to see the guys and give our last goodbyes until August. The hugs, the smiles, the compliments back-and-forth was amazing. It was a great ending of our own FMC tour…

Here’s the rundown for Friday, July 17:
• At 3 p.m., Katie arrived at Lauren’s house.
• At 4 p.m., we picked up another friend that was joining us for the FMC concert.
• We arrived at the Best Western Roundhouse Suites in Boston around 7 p.m.
• We ate at an Italian restaurant in the North End.
• We were all in bed before Demi’s performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Here’s the rundown for Saturday, July 18:
We woke up between 9-9:30 a.m., ate breakfast, and then checked out by 11 a.m. We drove through Boston University to get to The Paradise Rock Club. It’s a really pretty area (F.Y.I. — I’m not a fan of the school… go UNH Wildcats!!! ~ Lauren). Anyway, we parked and stood in line. This was all around 11:30 a.m. We had an hour and a half until doors opened. It was a bit too long because the sun was beating down on us. Everyone in line was sweating like crazy! It was gross…really. Katie now has a funny tan from her Hanson necklace. Did you get a funny tan you want to share?

Ned came out just before they were going to open the doors. He pumped up the crowd with his megaphone. He also revealed a surprise: They were going to film a music video! This was not any ordinary music video, but a music video for USA Pears. Honor Society was going to sing “PEARadise” while the audience waved pears in the air. It was fun – Ned filmed the video on the Flip Mino Camcorder. At the very end, we had to bit into our pear. It was good! (Katie does not like pears). We’ll keep you updated when we hear about when the video will be posted!

Then the guys changed into their concert outfits and came out and ROCKED. We posted the set list from the show. Lauren had a M&G pass from the fanclub and Katie pre-ordered Fashionably Late so that she could meet the guys too. It was great to see them all again! Andrew seemed really excited/surprised to see us

After the M&G we grabbed icecream at Coldstone (it was ridiculously hot out, ice cream was much needed) and made our way towards the Garden for the Jonas show later that night. (More on that… later)

Total mileage: 302.64 miles
