Ето че вече най – ранни разраотки на Google Chrome OS са факт и ни дават поне малка представа какво ще представлява операционната система… Ако въобще ще може да се нарече така… Тя е по – скоро един браузър с един голям надпис “OS” накрая.

Та общо взето Google Chrome OS не само ще изпълнява ролята на бразуър, но и ще изглежда като такъв. Засега тя има почти същия вид като браузъра Chrome с няколко малки изключения като допълнителен таб за програмките.

Още от самото начало беше ясно, че операционната система ще се ползва главно с продуктите на Google (Documents, Calendar, Talk  и т.н.). Лично аз предполагах обаче, че те ще са интегрирани като програми за да могат да се използват по – бързо и по удобно, но уви не. Отново ще трябва да чакаме gmail да зареди, както и всички останали продукти, което на демото се оказа доста мудно. Слава богу за разлика от това системата стартира доста бързо.

Съществува някакво подобие на програма наречено Notepad, която обаче представлява бял прозорец в който може да се пише… и нищо друго. В крайна сметка това, което напишете отива в Google Docs, който има много, много повече възможности от въпросния notepad въпреки че е изцяло online.

Единствения начин да чатим за сега е чрез Google Talk. Със същата програма трябва и да организираме контактите си.

Изглежда Google разчитат прекалено много на online услугите си, които за такива са си доста добре, но да им се казва програми е абсурдно. Все пак не трябва да забравяме, че Chrome OS е в много ранен стадий и вероятно ще бъдат въведени доста промени, надявам се към добро, преди да бъде пуснат официално.

2. then open the manifest folder and then the manifest.mf file.

Nokia N920 va fi, din toate informatiile aparute, urmasul lui N900 si va avea in mare parte caracteristicile acestuia. Sunt prezente si upgrade-urile cu care orice nou telefon este dator.

N920 renunta la tastatura QWERTY in favoarea unui touchscreen atotputernic de 4.13 inch care, se pare, va fi de tip capacitiv. Ar fi o premiera pentru Nokia, o premiera care trebuia sa se produca mult mai devreme.

La fel ca si N900, Nokia N920 face uz de sistemul de operare Maemo. Dar, spre deosibire de N900, noul dispozitiv ar trebui sa dispuna de versiunea 6. Ce va aduce nou aceasta, nu se stie inca. Nokia N920 ar trebui sa aiba in dotare urmatoarele: sistem de operare Maemo 6, procesor ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz, touchscreen capacitiv de 4.13 inch, camera foto de 5 MP, spatiu intern de 32 GB, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, Bluetooth. Nu se stie exact data de lansare si nici pretul la care va fi comercializat.

Hey Pet Society fans! The latest version of the game is now live, so sign on to Pet Society via Facebook to explore everything new!

You are now able to display clothes in your rooms! To flaunt your pet’s style, open your Wardrobe and drag an item of clothing out into the room (but not onto your pet)! To make this a bit easier, you will see a “Zoom Out” button next to the “Close” icon when the Wardrobe is open which you can use to see more of your room (and you can always zoom back in again to your pet whenever you like )!

Plus, if you want to maximise your Pet Society experience, you can now play in Fullscreen Mode. To do this, simply select the “Toggle Fullscreen” button, which is located next to the “Save and Quit” button. To exit Fullscreen Mode, just press Escape on your keyboard at any time.

For all pets who feel they would really like a bit more space, you are now able to purchase up to two additional rooms using Playfish Cash! To access this additional space, you can select the new button (a greyed out room with a green plus icon) on your room selector (house icon) when inside your home! These additional rooms are even larger than your existing ones!

The room selector also shows you previews of each room which you will see just below the room selector when you hover over any room with your cursor. With so many rooms, this may be useful to ensure your pet doesn’t get lost in its own home!

As everyone has already discovered, there are many pirates around the village this week, so you have to watch where you tread! Sirius is wishing someone told her earlier!

Sirius was following “?” pretty closely today, and managed to spot him hurrying through the trees. She hid behind one tree, and as he glided past, she snatched the pictures he was carrying right out of his paws and made a run for it. Unfortunately, with all the pirates around, she didn’t get far before she was grabbed and taken onboard a ship on the pond. One of the crew members spotted that she was clutching something, and wanting to find out more started questioning her. Pressured, she edged closer and closer to the side of the ship, when the pirate was almost upon her, she jumped over the edge and into the pond!

She swam as quickly as she could to shore, and then raced home, looking for pirates out of the corner of her eyes. She did arrive safely home, however, the images were a bit water damaged from her time in the pond. See if you can guess what they are anyway!

These new mysterious items are now available! Updated! Here are the images that have avoided the pond!

Sirius saw a bit more than she expected while swimming in the pond though, she’s claiming she saw a fish that looked like a Strawberry Shortcake, a Mosquitofish, some anchors (probably ones that rusted off of the pirate ship), and several new glowing fish she’d never seen before! So cast in a line, and see if you can discover any of these new wonders!

Please note that this update is for the Facebook version of the game only. The MySpace and Bebo versions of the game have not changed at this stage.

I’ve always been frustrated with the lack of proper full screen preview in Gimp. By default if you enter fullscreen mode (F11), it just gives you a bit more screen real estate but keeps all of the menu bars, rulers and other things that distract you from the image.

I found that you can customize what is displayed in full screen mode, and also on what colour background your image is shown. By turning all things off in full screen mode, and selecting a background colour of choice (I like black) it works well as a full screen preview mode.

The main reason why I downloaded this application is beacause when you run two monitors off any Mac as soon as you have the show fullscreen in one monitor and decide to click back into the other monitor to multitask, the original fullscreened monitor goes back to being just a web page, not fullscreen. It’s very annoying and I’m sure some other people have run into this problem as well. So to make everything all better you can download the program and still watch fullscreened shows on one monitor and say run photoshop on the other. When I found this out It made multitasking extraordinarily better.

Let’s just say that as time goes on, my reasons for hating/boycotting Sony and stubbornly sticking by DVD because it’s “just fine” are no longer outweighing my reasons for adopting Blu-ray. Of course, I’m a tech geek, so my willingness to adopt is irrelevant anyway. But that doesn’t mean I should forego my opinion.

However, I was reading this article on the DVD/Blu-ray release of Star Trek and stopped here:

“Paramount has announced there will be three home video sets for Star Trek (2 DVD sets & 1 Blu-ray).”

The two DVD sets are obviously the Fullscreen and Widescreen versions. Suddenly, that “1 Blu-ray” looked liberating and progressive. I realized now that I want Blu-ray to take over DVD. As bloody fast as it can. Because no studio will release Fullscreen dog shit on Blu-ray. It just doesn’t make sense to do so. Blu-ray is a high definition format, and how many high definition television sets do you know of that run in 4:3?

The faster we get that Fullscreen nonsense out of the market, the better off consumers will be. People will actually be able to buy movies that they can watch in their homes in the way the director intended for them. And people will be able to pick up a copy of a movie without having to check to see if it’s in Wide; an almost obsessive-compulsive habit I’ve developed, personally.

Those people who ignorantly see the “black bars” as cutting off their picture will have to 1) live with it, or 2) realize it’s supposed to be that way. The latter is a lot to ask for the moment, but eventually I see it being the case more and more as it will become common knowledge.

It has to.

Ok. I have nothing worth writing so I’m just going to be random.

Most people seem to think that watching movies in wide-screen is better than full-screen. Well, I thought about it today but I couldn’t decide. Wide-screen doesn’t cut off anything but I find the black bars to be quite annoying. Sometimes I find myself staring at those instead of the movie. Full-screen doesn’t have the blackness but sometimes the picture does get cut off a little. The parts that get cut might not be important (i.e some of the sky or a wall) but it’s still irritating if you can’t see part of someone’s ear or something. So the question is, seeing too much or too little?

Which one would you choose?

I was going to buy Harry Potter 1-5 on DVD and I have to chose one I still can’t decide

el source del video y el nombre del skin, son configurables por flashvars o bien pueden usar el fuente y descomentar una lineas en el codigo que esta bien clarito.

el nombre de video es video.flv (pero como decia lo puede cambiar de cualquier lado)

el fuente del Skin, esta en los archivos que se bajan de aqui mismo, pero ademas es tan estandar que pueden usar cualquier skin que soporte fullScreen.

The Aspect Ratio Debate. It’s not a pretentious art-rock band, but a question that has plagued Stanley Kubrick fans since the beginning of home video. What did Kubrick intend for us to see on our television screens, and does this still apply since the widescreen TV boom?

The issue originates from Kubrick’s dismay at seeing a pan and scan version of 2001: A Space Odyssey — a version formatted to fill a 4:3 TV screen by cropping off the edges of the image. As a preventative measure Kubrick shot his subsequent films in open matte, essentially capturing more of the image than was needed for widescreen theatrical presentation. This allowed for TV broadcasts without the use of pan and scan (which compromises the original cinematography) or letterboxing (which, although it would be my favoured solution, Kubrick reportedly found distracting).

It was these fullscreen versions that were released on VHS and DVD, and thus the versions that many fans have grown to love after years of repeated home viewings. They were indeed the versions favoured by Kubrick for home display, but not for theatrical presentation. This is perhaps most obvious when you compare the opening scene of The Shining. In the full frame version, the camera helicopter’s shadow can be glimpsed for at least one second, while it is hidden in the widescreen version. Surely a perfectionist like Stanley Kubrick would not ultimately favour the version with such a blatant technical glitch.

And the simple fact is that home display has advanced greatly since Kubrick’s death. High-definition widescreen televisions offer the most cinematic experience currently possible without an actual cinema, and the theatrical version comes closer to filling the screen than the so-called “fullscreen” version of old. Consumers are more aware of aspect ratios, and less likely to panic at the first sign of black bars on their screens.

But when films like The Shining were screened in two different formats (slightly wider in the US, slightly taller in Europe) it becomes harder to honour the film-maker’s intentions. Warner Brothers could offer fans the choice, but considering there are three possible aspect ratios and two different cuts of The Shining, the prospect of all those transfers becomes daunting (not to mention prohibitively expensive).

The current DVD/blu ray release of The Shining uses yet another aspect ratio — the current widescreen TV standard of 16:9, which is somewhere between both theatrical versions. It’s preferable to a compromised version of the film based on outmoded technology, but it is still a compromised version of the film… just one based on current technology! It’s less drastic a change than the one necessitated by 4:3 screens, but honestly, are black bars really that distracting when they allow us to see the vision originally presented to us in the cinema?

I never really understood the big thing about buying a movie and watching it in widescreen. Ya a movie is shot to fit a HUGE screen in theaters that is more of a rectangle than a square like most televisions.  Technology has really come a long way, you are basically watching the same thing. If I have a big screen TV I intend to use the whole screen. I dislike when a movie gets released and it is released only in the widescreen format for a certain time period. I think the way a movie is viewed should be up to the viewer. There are some DVDs that give the viewer the choice, this would be a smart move by the company that distributes the DVD. 

To be perfectly honest with you i could care less if the movie is wide screen or full screen as long as the movie is a good movie. I read somewhere that there has been an advancement in DVD technology that is allows 1,000 movies to be stored on one DVD. Just a Fun Fact!
