The project to gild 16 pillar pedestals is now half-way done and looking very sweet indeed.  As a gilder since 1981 this is one of my biggest commissions.

Working with John on the base pedestals of 16 grand pillars in the main banqueting hall.

Fuelled by hot tea and digestive biscuits it’s often great fun but always serious, dedicated work.

They were stories about precious things lost.
He told of a woman who had lost a small fortune, a shepherd who had lost a sheep and a father who had a runaway son.

Something precious was lost and warranted an all-out search.
When it was found, it was cause for unbridled celebration.

Then he said, “There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

It is not a stretch, nor disrespectful, to say that heaven throws a huge party when lost people come home to God.
And if we know anything about the Jewish concept of feasts and banquets, we can be sure that there is a lot of singing, dancing and joyful noise in heaven’s banquet halls.

So why should church be dull and boring?
Why should we subject people to mind-numbing boredom and sameness when heaven is cutting down the nets in victory?
Our church is not a show, not a performance, and not very polished. As a whole, we’re a pretty messed-up gathering of people. But God is good, His mercy endures forever and He is opening His arms to lost, broken people like us…and like you.

Around 1:00 A.M. on Saturday, sheriff’s deputies in Delaware County, Ohio got a domestic violence call from outside a banquet hall.

When they got there, they found a man standing by his car. He told them he’d just gotten into an argument with his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Robinette.

She was drunk, and ended up hitting him and locking herself in the car. When the deputies tried to get her out of the car, she told them she was a breastfeeding mother. And when that didn’t stop the deputies, Stephanie proved it by whipping out her right breast -  and SPRAYING THEM with her breast milk.

Once the stream stopped they removed her from the car and arrested her for domestic violence, assault, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct, and, of course, resisting arrest.

Raj has been performing as a professional right from the age of 16.

It’s a new year and I decided to make good on a promise to my parents to help them out and finally build a website for their reception hall / resort in the Philippines. I also think I took it a little too far and got ultra-geeky by setting up a Google Adwords and Yahoo search campaign, but that’s another story…The site is simple for now, but I’ll be slowly making improvements. For certain, it’ll definitely get better after May when I’m able to go back there to take more (and better) pictures. Right now, I’m quite happy with the google map widget on the Contact page. I wasn’t able to get down to the street level, but I got down to the city and that’s good enough for me.
