Image : http://www.flickr.com Diflucan, a prescription drug also known as Fluconazole, is often used

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Diflucan, a prescription drug also known as Fluconazole, is often used to treat fungal infections. Diflucan for nail fungus is not the best choice. Other oral medications lead to higher cure rates, work faster, and less expensive. Like all the oral prescription medication to treat fungal infections of toenails and fingernails, fluconazole is the risk of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, headache and rash, but also serious problemssuch as liver toxicity and extreme skin reactions. When treated, the problem is almost never serious about the general health (nail fungus usually more) a cosmetic problem, it makes sense to ask whether it makes sense to make a drug that has the potential to cause serious health cause problems to use.

Diflucan for nail fungus is not unusual in its potential to be able to cause unintended damage. All available drugs, Lamisil (terbinafine) and Sporanox(Itraconazole) come with similar risk. However, they are less toxic than older prescription antifungals such as griseofulvin, and more efficient. Although no work, no other treatment for joints and nail infections, 100 percent of the time, many people have had success with Diflucan or any of the other drugs after trying other means without success.

Treatment with Diflucan for nail fungus tends to be prolonged more than that with the recommendedalternative medicines. During treatment, the patient can assist with the recovery, by very good care of the feet and hands. The nails should be kept clean and clipped short. Feet in particular, should carefully washed and dried every day. Many air circulation and dry cool skin create an unfriendly environment for fungus, so bare feet or ventilated shoes are helpful. Infected nails are regularly placed on the files so that they are kept thin and any crumbling flaky pieces are immediatelyremoved. Disappeared after the infection, these precautions should be continued as a regular nail care habits to prevent a recurrence.

If the cost of prescription medicines during treatment with Diflucan for nail fungus or other antifungal is just too much to assess the possibility of side effects too risky or if some pre-existing health condition makes it impossible to take the drugs, there are many in the counter's resources and traditional home remedies that seem to work formany people. These can replace or even in conjunction with prescription drugs and can help eliminate the fungus. With a meticulous treatment of hands and feet is a must.

Not drying between the toes properly can cause this

Athlete’s foot

Athlete’s foot is the term used for a common disorder affecting the skin between the toes, and other areas of the skin. The cleft between the fourth and fifth toes is the most frequently affected, with moist soft skin that peels off easily. Often the skin splits uncomfortably (a fissure). It may smell unpleasant. It is generally mild; very inflamed athlete’s foot is generally due to secondary bacterial infection.

Athlete’s foot can be due to one factor or a combination of factors.

Bacterial infection (erythrasma, pseudomonas, Staphylococci and Streptococci).

Mould infection.

Soft corn (build-up of thick skin because the toes are pressing against each other).

Injury(punctures of or scratches on the skin

Fungal infection (tinea pedis).

Athlete’s foot is more common in those who participate in sports because:

They sweat heavily.

They may fail to dry their feet carefully after showering.

They may be exposed to fungal spores on the surfaces of communal areas.

Athlete’s foot is an infection of the feet caused by fungus. The medical term is tinea pedis. Of the fungal infections known as tinea infections, Athlete’s foot is the most common. These fungi thrive in warm, moist areas.

Your risk for getting athlete’s foot increases if you:

Wear closed shoes, especially if they are plastic-lined

Keep your feet wet for prolonged periods of time

Sweat a lot

Don’t dry your feet thoroughly

Symptoms

The most common symptom is cracked, flaking, peeling skin between the toes. The affected area is usually red and itchy. You may feel burning or stinging, and there may be blisters. In addition to the toes, the symptoms can also occur on the heels, palms, and between the fingers.

If the fungus spreads to your nails, they can become discolored, thick, and even crumble.

Athlete’s foot is contagious, and can be passed through direct contact, or contact with items such as shoes, stockings, and shower or pool surfaces.

Causes

The body normally hosts a variety of micro-organisms, including bacteria and fungi. Some of these are useful to the body. Under certain conditions others multiply rapidly and cause infections. Athlete’s foot occurs when a particular type of fungus grows and multiplies in your feet (especially between your toes) this fungus can also grow on hands causing the same symptoms.

Treatment

Keep your feet clean and dry, especially between your toes.

Wash your feet thoroughly with soap and water and dry the area very carefully and completely. Try to do this at least twice a day.

Wear clean, cotton socks and change your socks and shoes as often as necessary to keep your feet dry.

Athlete’s foot almost always responds well to self-care, although it may come back.

Severe, ongoing infections that don’t respond after 2 - 4 weeks of self-care, and frequently recurring athlete’s foot, may require further treatment by your health care provider.

We recommend trying Ginseng Care Serum link

Contact your doctor immediately if :

Your foot is swollen and warm to the touch, especially if there are red streaks. These are signs of a possible bacterial infection. Other signs include pus or other discharge and fever.

You have diabetes and develop athlete’s foot.

You are concerned that you have a severe fungal infection.

If after 2-4 weeks of self care the symptoms still remain

Low Level Laser Therapy has been used by medical doctors in Europe for over thirty years and was FDA approved in the U.S. in 2002. The patients in the FDA study got better 60% faster.

The laser stimulates a structure within the cell, called the mitochondria, nicknamed the “powerhouse”, to produce more ATP, which is our molecular energy. So with more energy at the cell level the tissues heal faster.

Normally a laser treatment is $30.00, however we always include your first treatment in what you’ve already paid us. When you come back on your follow-up the doctor will decide whether or not he recommends more Laser.

An ice massage is quick, free, easy to do, and it can provide significant pain relief for many types

An ice massage is quick, free, easy to do, and it can provide significant pain relief for many types of pain. In a world of sophisticated medical care, a simple ice massage can still be one of the more effective, proven methods to treat a soreness.

Most episodes of pain are caused by muscle strain. Muscles can become inflamed and spasm, causing pain and significant stiffness.

While it sounds like a simple injury, a muscle strain can create a surprising amount of pain. In fact, this type of injury is one of the most common reasons people go to the emergency room. However, not much can be done for a strained muscle except for rest (e.g. for up to two days), pain relief medications, and ice and/or heat application.

How ice provides pain relief
Ice can help provide relief for back pain in a number of ways, including:

Ice application slows the inflammation and swelling that occurs after injury. Most pain is accompanied by some type of inflammation, and addressing the inflammation helps reduce the pain.

Numbs sore tissues (providing pain relief like a local anesthetic)

Slows the nerve impulses in the area, which interrupts the pain-spasm reaction between the nerves

Decreases tissue damage

Ice is most effective if it is applied soon after the injury occurs. The cold makes the veins in the tissue contract, reducing circulation. Once the cold is removed, the veins overcompensate and dilate and blood rushes into the area. The blood brings with it the necessary nutrients to allow the injured muscles, ligaments and tendons to heal.

As with all pain relief treatments, there are some cautions with ice. Never apply ice directly to the skin. Instead, be sure that there is a protective barrier between the ice and skin, such as a towel. Additionally, ice should also not be used for patients who have rheumatoid arthritis, Raynaud’s Syndrome, cold allergic conditions, paralysis, or areas of impaired sensation.

Milkcaps are a group of toadstool species which produce a fluid when the cap is injured in any way. In some species, such as this, the fluid is white, and looks very like milk.

I had just lightly brushed this specimen while clearing away a bit of debris to get a clearer view. The result: a copious amount of “milk”.

MAGNETIC FIELDS CAN HELP YOU HEAL Bio-Magnetics is the application of magnetic fields to biological

MAGNETIC FIELDS CAN HELP YOU HEAL

Bio-Magnetics is the application of magnetic fields to biological systems such as humans or animals for the express purpose of therapeutic use. There are several magnetic diagnostic techniques approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Magnetic resonance imagery (MRI) is the most frequently and widely known magnetic diagnostic procedure.

The application of magnetic field to humans and animals is approved by the FDA and is classified as not being harmful. This not harmful status by the FDA resulted from a premarketing toxicity study with MRI procedures. It is true that the MRI is not harmful, however toxicity studies using longer time exposures to separate magnetic fields has resulted in:

No harm from the negative magnetic field exposure no matter how high the gauss strength or how long the exposure.

The brief exposure of several hours to a positive magnetic field is not harmful. The MRI toxicity studies were for brief exposure. The FDA is correct in classifying the MRI as not harmful.

Prolonged exposure to a positive magnetic field, for a week or more, is harmful because it is acidifying. The skin demonstrates this condition by developing an inflammatory, bacterial infected vasculitis. This is an ‘acid burn’. This evidence has not been published in any peer-reviewed literature and therefore has not been considered by the FDA.

There is a peer-reviewed article demonstrating the significance of prolonged exposure of cancer cells to separate positive and negative magnetic fields. Cancer grows with prolonged exposure to a positive magnetic field, and cancer dies with a prolonged exposure to a negative magnetic field. (Trappier, Arthur et al. “Evaluating Perspectives on the Exposure Risks from Magnetic Fields” Journal of the National Medical Association, 82:9, September 1990)

A static magnetic field is an energy field by virtue of the movement of electrons in the static magnetic field. This fact of the magnetic field movement of electrons is used in industry with predictable results, and can also be used in magnetic therapy with the same predictable results. Separate positive and negative magnetic fields spin electrons in opposite directions and for this reason also have separate opposite biological responses. The biological response to a negative magnetic field is alkalinization, oxygenation, anti-stress, growth and healing. The biological response to a positive magnetic field is acidity, reduced oxygen, biological stress, and blocked healing. The human body is alkaline and thus composed of more negative magnetic field energy than positive magnetic field energy.

A negative magnetic field activates electrons that energize alkaline dependant enzymes that produce human energy (ATP and oxidation remnant magnetism) as well as processes endogenous toxins (free radicals, peroxides, acids, alcohols and aldehydes) and exogenous environmental toxins. A positive magnetic field activates electrons that energize acid dependent enzymes that provide energy for cancer cells and microorganisms. It is a negative magnetic field that is largely used for human magnetic therapy. The use of a positive magnetic field is limited to short term use to excite neurons that have been inhibited by an injury such as pressure from edema. The brief application of a positive magnetic field to immunological organs such as the thymus is used to optimize immunologic defense against cancer and against microorganisms. The application of both a positive and negative magnetic field at the same time in the same area does not serve a useful purpose.

Have YOU ever experienced:

Constant craving for something sweet

Persistent fatigue or feeling of being bogged down all the time

Brain “fog” -hard to focus or think clearly, memory loss

Sinus pressure, pain and/or drainage (rhinitis), which antibiotics don’t relieve

Joint and musculoskeletal pain (Fibromyalgia)

Chronic allergies and allergic reactions to various foods, such as wheat (celiac disease)

Worsening of asthma

Increased sensitivities to chemicals, molds, and airborne pollutants

Frequent abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, or gas

Anal or vaginal itching, skin rashes, cracked skin, or white coating on tongue.

Chronic heartburn , constipation diarrhea, gastritis, and/or colitis

Heartburn and acid reflux (GERD)

If you answered YES to ANY of the these then YOUR problem may be FUNGUS.

Yes, Fungus!

The intestinal tract is inhabited by billions of beneficial or “friendly” bacteria, called probiotics, together with several strains of candida yeast and some parasites in a ratio of approximately 85 to 15.

These bacteria and yeasts work together and aid in digestion. However, when antibiotics and anti-inflammatories are introduced to the body, they kill off the “friendly” bacteria, but not the yeast.

The yeast begins to multiply as the 85 to 15 ratio, which held them in check becomes unstable. This causes dysbiosis-an imbalance of the natural flora of the gut.

And to make matters worse, Americans consume more sugar and simple carbohydrates than any nation on earth allowing the candida yeast to thrive on the sugar.

When the candida gets “fed” on a sugary fast food diet with few “friendly” bacteria to hold it in check, it morphs into pathogenic fungi which produce rhizoids, or tentacles, that bore into the intestinal walls, causing microscopic holes. These holes compromise the immune system by allowing toxins, undigested food particles and parasitic bacteria to enter the bloodstream- a condition know as Leaky Gut Syndrome.

Unfortunately, many doctors miss diagnosing a fungal infection because the symptoms appear to be totally unrelated to fungal overgrowth and believe that fungal infections are limited to vaginal yeast overgrowth. But pathogenic fungi have NO sexual preference and have been estimated to affect 40 percent to 60 percent of the population.

So how do you test for fungus?

A simple at home saliva test has been proven quite reliable in the diagnosis of a fungal overgrowth.

First thing in the morning, get a clear glass and fill it with water. It is important that nothing enters your mouth or touches your lips before you conduct this test.

Work up a bit of saliva, then spit it into the glass of water. Healthy saliva will be clear; it will float on top and then slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness and without sinking. It is normal to have some bubbles or foam present.

Candida saliva from a fungal infection will have one or more of three characteristics. There will be strings, like cloudy legs, traveling down to the bottom of the glass, or “cloudy” saliva will sink to the bottom of the glass, or cloudy specks will seem to be suspended in the water.

How do you overcome a fungal infection and restore the body’s natural 85 to 15 ratio of “friendly” bacteria to yeast?

Here are some natural herbs that can help:

Horopito leaf- a prehistoric plant native to New Zealand.

Anise seed

Sage leaf

Grapefruit seed extract

Calcium ascorbate

Others: chamomile, garlic, olive leaf extract, and oil of oregano

One of the best things you can do is ELIMINATE sugar and grains from your diet!

Sugar, as we discussed earlier, feeds the candida and grains CONVERT to sugar within seconds of touching your tongue.

A second thing you must do is provide your body with good bacteria in the form a probiotic supplement. This will help restore the body’s natural flora and help the correct the imbalance present in your digestive tract.

So as you can see, many COMMON symptoms can be attributed to fungal growth and can be eliminated with simple solutions. I recommend you try the saliva test, restrict your sugar and grain consumption, and begin taking a good probiotic. By implementing this into your lifestyle you will be one step closer to achieving Optimal Health.

Water prevents and helps to cure heartburn. Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper

Water prevents and helps to cure heartburn.
Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a major thirst signal of the human body. The use of antacids or tablet medications in the treatment of this pain does not correct dehydration, and the body continues to suffer as a result of its water shortage.

Not recognizing heartburn as a sign of dehydration and treating it with antacids and pill medications will, in time, produce inflammation of the stomach and duodenum, hiatal hernia, ulceration, and eventually cancers in the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver and pancreas.

Water prevents and helps to cure arthritis.
Rheumatoid joint pain – arthritis – is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint. It can affect the young as well as the old. The use of pain-killers does not cure the problem, but exposes the person to further damage from pain medications. Intake of water and small amounts of salt will cure this problem.

Water prevents and helps to cure back pain.
Low back pain and ankylosing arthritis of the spine are signs of water shortage in the spinal column and discs – the water cushions that support the weight of the body. These conditions should be treated with increased water intake – not a commercial treatment, but a very effective one.

Not recognizing arthritis and low back pain as signs of dehydration in the joint cavities and treating them with pain-killers, manipulation, acupuncture, and eventually surgery will, in time, produce osteoarthritis when the cartilage cells in the joints have eventually all died. It will produce deformity of the spine. It will produce crippling deformities of the limbs. Pain medications have their own life-threatening complications.

Water prevents and helps to cure angina.
Heart pain – angina – is a sign of water shortage in the heart/lung axis. It should be treated with increased water intake until the patient is free of pain and independent of medications. Medical supervision is prudent. However, increased water intake is angina’s cure.

Water prevents and helps to cure migraines.
Migraine headache is a sign of water need by the brain and the eyes. It will totally clear up if dehydration is prevented from establishing in the body. The type of dehydration that causes migraine might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and possibly loss of eye sight.

Water prevents and helps to cure colitis.
Colitis pain is a signal of water shortage in the large gut. It is associated with constipation because the large intestine constricts to squeeze the last drop of water from the excrements – thus the lack of water lubrication.

Not recognizing colitis pain as a sign of dehydration will cause persistent constipation. Later in life, it will cause fecal impacting: it can cause diverticulitis, hemorrhoids and polyps, and appreciably increases the possibility of developing cancer of the colon and rectum.

Water and salt prevent and helps to cure asthma.
Asthma, which also affects 14 million children and kills several thousand of them every year, is a complication of dehydration in the body. It is caused by the drought management programs of the body. In asthma free passage of air is obstructed so that water does not leave the body in the form of vapor – the winter steam. Increased water intake will prevent asthma attacks. Asthmatics need also to take more salt to break the mucus plugs in the lungs that obstruct the free flow of air in and out of the air sacs.

Not recognizing asthma as the indicator of dehydration in the body of a growing child not only will sentence many thousands of children to die every year, but will permit irreversible genetic damage to establish in the remaining 14 million asthmatic children.

Water prevents and helps to cure high blood pressure.
Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought, when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels that diffuse water into vital cells. As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from the blood serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the “injection process.” Just as we inject I.V. “water” in hospitals, so the body injects water into tens of trillions of cells all at the same time. Water and some salt intake will bring blood pressure back to normal!

Not recognizing hypertension as one of the major indicators of dehydration in the human body, and treating it with diuretics that further dehydrate the body will, in time, cause blockage by cholesterol of the heart arteries and the arteries that go to the brain. It will cause heart attacks and small or massive strokes that paralyze. It will eventually cause kidney disease. It will cause brain damage and neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Water prevents and helps to cure early adult-onset diabetes.
Adult-onset diabetes is another adaptive state to severe dehydration of the human body. To have adequate water in circulation and for the brain’s priority water needs, the release of insulin is inhibited to prevent insulin from pushing water into all body cells. In diabetes, only some cells get survival rations of water. Water and some salt will reverse adult-onset diabetes in its early stages.

Not recognizing adult-onset diabetes as a complication of dehydration will, in time, cause massive damage to the blood vessels all over the body. It will cause eventual loss of the toes, feet and legs from gangrene. It will cause eye damage, even blindness.

Water lowers blood cholesterol.
High cholesterol levels are an indicator of early drought management by the body. Cholesterol is a clay-like material that is poured in the gaps of some cell membranes to safeguard them against losing their vital water content to the osmotically more powerful blood circulating in their vicinity. Cholesterol, apart from being used to manufacture nerve cell membranes and hormones, is also used as a “shield” against water taxation of other vital cells that would normally exchange water through their cell membranes.

Ringworm is a fungus infection that affects the outer layer of the skin. It shows up as a red circle on fair skin people and a purplish ring on darker skin people. It is highly contagious and can be spread through touch or through infected clothes. The way that you get ringworm is by poor hygiene or direct contact with the infected area on someone else. It is very common in contact sports and outdoor sports. In wrestling and MMA it is very normal.

Ways to keep it away from you:

-If you are a wrestler or MMA fighter: you must clean the mats with special mat disinfectant before using them. You must not wear normal shoes on the mat if you are going to wear shoes at all.

- For everyone: Never wear the same clothes two days in a row unless properly wash. Disinfect all your equipment/ gear each night. After your training session, immediately take a shower. DO NOT SIT DOWN! DO NOT WAIT! The longer you wait the most likely you will get it and the most likely you will get it on someone else. Use anti-bacterial soap and a wash cloth or loofah to scrub down. Keep your immune system strong by taking a good multivitamin so that you can fight off most if not all diseases.

If you do get it: cover it up and go get a special cream that kills in in a few days. Do not let it get worse because it will spread and get bigger and nasty.

As found in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, an advertisement for Meatless Chicken Nuggets:

The first question you ask yourself is, seeing that the name is Quorn does that mean it’s, in fact, made…of corn?

It’s only logically seeing that it’s NOT MEAT. But no, it’s not as simple as that.

Chicken style? What the fugg is that? Like chickens run around in the wild shaped in breaded, bite sized morsels! You wonder how the hell is this going to taste. They answer the question for you..

Surprise! Its yummy! I know you’re expecting fuselage flavor, but surprise! It’s not halfway bad (according to them). I suspect it’s the same thing Chicken McNuggets are made of. Speaking of which, what are these abominations made of?

Guess what? It’s made of fungus! Yum, de-licious! Chicken style, more like mushroom style…

But of course, it is 100% all natural right?

Wrong! It’s made with 100% natural man-made ingredients. Sing it with me,” its naturally synthetic!”

Just say no to mycoprotein, kids! I can’t believe it’s not chicken!

As QUORN’s slogan goes, “It might just …. you” Fill in the blank.

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Lets face it, are artificial nails and have not since the sixties. Its rare to find a woman who are not wearing them. It is one thing, vanity, and a chance to show the beautiful hands. Sexy hands is what most women want and boys they love. But there are also dangers lurking among those great looking falsies.

The spread of the fungus is on women and the beauty industry practice. Women often go to nail shops where professional nail experts artificial nails and pedicures and manicures which are common practice. Nail Spas are popular breeding grounds for all kinds of bacteria, fungus (spores) fungus is spread from person to person through instruments such as those used in nail shops, pliers, files, buffers and scrubbers, etc. . Any tool shared among many people harbor nail fungus spores and can spread easily from person to person.

While most men and women often have aPrams> nail fungus infection on the toenail can be a nail-infected women to their fingernails, especially those in artificial nails. The reason is because fungus lives and breathes in dark damp places such as under the artificial nail (wet) and applied in a dark environment (with paint). Even without nail polish to the environment is dark enough to be a perfect breeding ground for fungus.

Regular monitoring of yourFingernails is important, especially when you visit a nail shop regularly. The nails should be checked at each visit. Inspect your nail bed to make sure not to start to change its color, for example, turning yellow or brown. This infection can be detected usually during the first signs of a nail. Sometimes you can see visible signs of yellow when the artificial nail with the nail polish away but usually the nail bed infection will manifest first. If you suspect a nail fungal infection, removing the artificial nails and begin treatment before they spiral out of control. The last thing you want is to continue wearing artificial nails and nail polish or use it to hide it.

There are many women who ignore the signs and just keep painting over their discolored nails. I know I have for a while. Please take steps to heal, the problem first. I can not stress this enough. The longer you wait to heal> Fungus, the uglier it is, and not by now, this could mean to all the other nails and other people. And when I say I'm not kidding propagation. I have women make up more than half of the nails on his hands infected seen.

Lactarius mammosus is another mushroom without a common English name. The title here is a rough translation of its German name: Dunkler Duftmilchling.

It is a milkcap, one of a group of species which exudes a fluid which can look like milk if it is damaged.

This species also smells of coconut.

The Government Got It Right

November 24th, 2009

A change in the sensitivity of your breasts, other than pain, might be a symptom of menopause, but it also might be something more severe. It could be mastic breast tissue, cysts, breast disease, or even neuropathy related to multiple sclerosis or fibromyalgia. It can also be a warning sign of breast cancer.

The new government recommendations on breast cancer screening were surprising to many doctors, but I happen to agree with them. The government is currently recommending against regular mammography tests for women aged 40 to 49. The guidelines also downplay the effectiveness of self-examinations and advise that women aged 50 to 74 years receive mammograms every other year. The change in early detection direction came from a U.S. Preventive Services Task Force comprised of a government panel of doctors and scientists. They concluded that early and frequent screenings by mammography often lead to false alarms and unneeded biopsies without substantially improving a woman’s odds of survival.

I agree with these new guidelines. First, I have not been a fan of mammograms for some time. I find that mammograms are not nearly as effective in detection as some other tests, like MRI’s and ultrasounds. I also have found that even when I teach my patients how to complete a manual breast exam, they are less than effective.

I support the new guidelines because I think it will lead to better testing. The ultrasound is a better screening procedure that’s safer and easier and picks up things fast. I believe that women should receive ultrasounds every year as part of their routine medical exam, beginning at an early age. If needed, MRI or PET scans can detect lumps and bumps better than any mammogram ever could.

Some time ago I visited one of the oil palm plantation in Palembang. Area of palm oil palm plantatio

Some time ago I visited one of the oil palm plantation in Palembang. Area of palm oil palm plantations is not too large, approximately 8000 ha (core plantation) and 40,000 ha (plasma). Fresh fruit bunches (FFB) harvested from the plantation is then processed in the palm oil mill near at one end of the garden. Factory processing capacity currently approximately 50 tons of FFB / hour. From the processing of FFB produced CPO (crude palm oil), waste OPEFB (oil palm empty bunches), and liquid waste. OPEFB waste volume large enough, in one day can reach 150 tons.

OPEFB waste become one of big problems for the oil mill. Previously they burned directly OPEFB with Incinerator. Waste burned directly and the rest of the burning ashes could be used for fertilizer, because the K-high content of the ash. Now, the government banned the burning. Factory management had to find out a solution to this waste problem. There are several alternative solution, for example: open dumping, mulch, and compost. One suitable alternative is for mulch to the plant oil. However, this technique raises another danger for palm oil plantations. Because OPEFB could be a place for nesting horned beetle pests and rat pests that are harmful for the palm oil.

Processing methods more promising is the making of compost. With conventional techniques, composting takes place in a long time, which is approximately 3-6 months. Can imagine how much area of land and labor used to accommodate all waste OPEFB for 6 months. The technique is not economical and inefficient. We came to the factory with the task to solve this problem, namely how to create/process OPEFB into compost by more economical and more efficient method in a relatively short time.

At the time of the survey in the field, I walk along the pile OPEFB. I observed from the pile and I saw many mushrooms grow in the pile of OPEFB. Some mushrooms are edible. Size, color, and shape vary. This fungus seems to appear gradually. Seen a succession of growth of this mushrooms/fungus. Fungus, which first appeared is a microscopic fungus that bright orange mushrooms also often called oncom fungus, Monilia sp. These fungi grow rapidly and cover most of OPEFB. Over time, the fungus that grows began to change. Many macro mushrooms that grow later. Description of these mushrooms I describe below.

***

Oncom Fungus

This fungus grows as soon as OPEFB out from the oil palm mill. Bright orange mushrooms such as color of oncom (sundanesse foods) that are often also called oncom mushrooms. This fungus is a group of microscopic fungi. Its scientific name is Monilia sp. This fungus seems to eat the remains of the oil that is in OPEFB. The fungus will continue to grow until the remaining oil to dominate the thinning / out.

Dick Mushroom (Kontol Mushroom)

Mushrooms ‘dick’ is actually similar to the ‘merang’ mushroom.

‘Dick mushroom, common name of this mashroom. People often call this mushroom as ‘konthol’ mushroom (kontol = penis in javanesse language), because the shape similar to the genitals of men. Its is delicious edible mushroom, so much sought after by employees or the surrounding community. I think this mushroom is one genus with common mushroom, ‘Merang’ mushroom (Volvariela volvaceae). Its shape is very similar to merang mushroom, brown-gray. The color of young mushroom are gray/light brown and shaped round like an egg, but this bubble size larger than usual mushroom. When it began to grow up, cracks will appear at the end of the spheres. After that came out the body of the fruiting body. The size of the fruit body can be very large. Mushrooms I’ve ever planted, up to 30 cm in diameter. The size of circles at the time a child can reach the hands of a handful.

This delicious mushroom stir-fry made, cooked with noodles, or make soup. It was chewy, chewy and tasty like chicken. This fungus most delicious when still buds (rounded). If cooked when its grow up to big mushroom, its is little less comfortable. Here are how to cook it, clean up mushroom with water. Peel and remove the hood of a black fungus, washed once again. Cut the desired size. Here….it ready for cooking.

Dick fungus grown with media OPEFB, can grow up to a maximum. Hood diameter reached 25 – 30 cm. Mushrooms are harvested when bubble size about a handful of adults.

PNG 3 Mushroom

This fungus forms very similar to dick mushrooms. More white color of the dick mushrooms. When I was little too similar, rounded shape. This fungus is also delicious to eat. The difference with dick mushrooms is going to bloom at the time of fruit body, on the hood as there are remnants of the cover mold. Its size was similar to the dick mushrooms. But the maximum size of the fungus could not like dick mushrooms.

Ear Mushroom

Ear mushroom is often sold in the traditional markets. Its color are dark brown, rubbery, and undulating like the ears of people, because it is called ear fungus. I found this mushroom in exile OPEFB, not OPEFB pile. In this place also found a lot discarded slender ash.

In general, this fungus is similar to the other common ear mushroom. But these mushrooms are thicker and bright in color, light brown. Pulp are soft and thick. I believe this fungus in the delicious. But these mushrooms growing rare, so rare people who know about this mushrooms.

Oyster mushrooms

Shape of this mushroom similar to the white oyster mushroom (Plourotus ostreatus). But these mushrooms are small at all. Height no more than 3 cm. Its is clean and white, there are sheets underneath of fruit body. These fungi usually grow in groups and rarely. This fungus seems to grow on the pile of old OPEFB or has become decayed.

Mushroom that are similar to this mushroom is also found in wood that is decaying. Mushrooms are also small.

Just call its mushroom as PNG 4 mushroom. Its shape similar with dick mushroom. Many people mistakenly take this fungus. Once in a time there were people looking for mushrooms. He did not know which mushrooms were usually eaten. Then he took this fungus. When cooked and eaten, he felt dizziness and nausea, poisoning. Eventually the person was in care at the hospital.

Unfamiliar peoples are difficult to distinguish between dick mushroom and PNG 4 mushroom when its is young mushrooms, because its similar in shape, little orbicular, and gray color. Difference lies in the upper surface of this fungus. On the surface of this fungus are slimy and sticky when held. Dick mushrooms did not like this. Besides, Its mushroom are smaller in shape and could not as big as dick mushroom. This fungus does not have ‘vulva’ like dick mushrooms. If the fruit body is formed would look like a ring at the base stalk. This is one sign of poisonous mushrooms. Be careful not to eat the wrong mushroom, it is very dangerous.

PNG 5 Mushroom

As usual, for convenience we call this mushroom PNG 5 mushroom. These mushrooms are small, approximately 5-10 cm tall, grow together, the fruit body brown-gray and slightly rough surface. On its stem there is a ring shape, so it is also poisonous mushrooms. Do not ever try to eat this fungus, unless you’re tired of seeing the sun.

The fungus grew abundantly on the surface of the pile OPEFB. There are so many, especially after rain. This fungus began to appear on the pile of old OPEFB more than a month.

PNG 6 Mushroom

PNG 6 Mushroom, just call it so. Like PNG 5 mushrooms, just the color purple hood. Hood diameter is wider than the PNG 5. The fungus also grows OPEFB huddled in a pile and the pile is found abundantly in OPEFB. These fungi are also toxic, because of its ring in its stem. Striking color also is a sign that this poisonous mushrooms.

PNG 7 Mushroom

This fungus most beautiful mushroom when compared with other mushrooms. Its color is bright orange, very interesting. The size of the fruit bodies are small and no more than 5cm. Grow in clusters and found abundantly in OPEFB pile. Judging from the bright colors, clear this fungus have suspected of being poisonous mushrooms. If you do not believe please prove himself. Try to take this mushroom, cooked, then eaten. If in a few hours, you are still in good, it probably means that the fungus is not toxic.

PNG 8 Mushroom

This fungus one small mushrooms that I found. Similar shape with molds others. Cream color, a little gray. The growth and size are also clustered approximately 5 cm. This fungus is also found abundantly in the pile of OPEFB.

***

Those were the fungus that I found in piles of OPEFB. There are edible mushrooms, there are also fungi that can not be eaten. I do not know what the benefits of this fungus than could be eaten. However, the results of this survey indicate that OPEFB has the potential to grow mushrooms. Some fungi may play an active role in the decomposition of OPEFB. Maybe there are also fungi that produce enzymes that are useful or have a high economic value. This article describes only the visible fungus. I am sure there are other fungus – or even other microbes which are invisible (microscopic). Who knows of this fungus is a very potential.

Laccaria laccata gets its common name because it is extremely variable in appearance, even for a fungus.

The deception is that it can supposedly appear that several different varieties of toadstool have been found, when in fact there is only the one.

We know that he is co-owner of a television show in the USA that deals with alternative medicine and conspiracy theories.

Lately reports have come in about new patients, mainly from Mexico but also from Brazil, who are facing the long journey to Italy to be given the sodium bicarbonate that will cure them from their cancer – or so they think.

Our Italian friend WeWee has done some research and found out how this sudden influx of new clients has come about.

UFOs and Aliens

It turns out that Simoncini had himself interviewed on Mexican tv by Jaime Maussan, a UFO/paranormal sensationalist with his own tv show in Mexico. Maussan is a celebrity in South America. He is obsessed with UFOs, aliens and everything paranormal and is the author of hundreds of scoops on UFO sightings and personal meetings with extra terrestrials in all shapes and sizes (penguins turning into balloons and flying horses.) The odd thing is though that the UFOs and aliens are always only seen by him. No UFO group wants to be associated with Maussan; they all think he is a fake and he his “discoveries” been debunked by many skeptics as well. Maussan is also the man of the hoax regarding the “alien” that was found in a trap in Mexico. The alien turned out to be a monkey’s skeleton:

Simoncini: hero, genius, maverick

In his interview with Maussan, Simoncini paints a picture of himself as a hero, a genius and a brave maverick, robbed of his title and forced to flee from one country to another by mainstream doctors and scientists who fear the consequences for their incomes of his great discovery.

In the interview, Simoncini claims that his treatment results in the disappearance of the cancer in only 3 to 4 days. In only 6 days, no trace of the cancer can be found. However, when you analyse his testimonials, his patients are either not cured or had conventional treatment before going to Simoncini.

He claims a success rate of 90%. For terminal cancers he claims a lower success rate, but this is because these patients have usually followed conventional therapy when they come to him and this compromises their health to such an extent that even for him it is difficult to bring about a complete recovery.

Simoncini stresses to bear in mind that there is no other way to cure cancer than with baking soda. This is what he says on his website:

At the moment, sodium bicarbonate (in a solution of 5% or 8.4%) is the only remedy capable of making the tumours disappear completely. In order to get the maximum of damaging effect, the sodium bicarbonate should be brought into direct contact with the tissue.

Of course there is the Quack Miranada Warning, the red flag which is so often overlooked by desparate patients:

[...] We make no claims concerning health & disease in relation to usage of this book. The information we provide is for educational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. Users assume all responsibility for the application of the content on themselves. The information and products which on this website are reproduced are not mend to replace and/or to ignore the advice of a practicing physician.

In an interview with Emma Holister he says:

“I have treated hundreds of patients. Most of them had extremely advanced cancer, especially after having been subjected to conventional therapies. Many of them made a complete recovery and are still alive and well years after the treatment.

In the cases of cancers caught early (lumps smaller than 3cm, with minimal incidence of metastasis) 90% of patients have made a recovery.”

Maussan asks Simoncini whether he has any doubts as to the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate against cancer and he says no, none whatsoever.

Simoncini’s miracle cure: Terminal cancer? Or just a benign cyst?

During the interview a video is shown of a miraculous breast cancer cure. In the video we see a woman, Amelia Parra, telling us of her breast cancer of gargantuan proportions. We are shown the breast with the giant tumour (the “tumour” appears at 1:57 and again at 2:13 in the video) – which to me looks more like a cyst than cancer. You can click here for photos of untreated breast cancer.

I asked jli if he thought it could perhaps be a cyst and this is what he said: “…I agree. A big tumour that suddenly appears during breast feeding, and grows fast is the way a cyst would appear, and not the way a cancer behaves. And of course no genuine oncologist would behave as claimed…”

Anyway, when Amelia went to see a doctor, he immediately told her that she was done for. She went for a second opinion and received the same answer there. Very empathic, these mexican doctors.

Desperate, she turned to Jaime Maussan. Stands to reason of course; what else can a cancer patient do but consult a seer of aliens and UFOs? Mr Maussan in his infinite goodness referred her to Simoncini, who cured within a few days. When she is back in Mexico she has a scan done and there is no trace of cancer to be found. Wonderful, isn’t it?

Translation of the video:

While I was breast feeding, I discovered a ball in my left breast. The oncologist immediately prescribed chemotherapy and radiation (no mention is made of further exams or biopsy, which is extremely unusual – unbelievable actually). The tumour was too big to be operated. He doubted whether strong doses were possible because I was breast feeding. Hormonal therapy would also be too dangerous.

Then they examined me and found this other ball, in the same breast but a little higher. We went to mexico city to do a pet scan and we went to see the oncologist. The doctor does a new analysis (doesn’t say what exams are performed, just “analysis”) and then he looks at me and says: Amelia, you are going to die. He said the same thing, he described chemo and radiation, said he could not operate at once. I would lose my hair which was horror to me. I would also become menopausal at once. A terrifying prospect.

It was then that I decided I would not follow that road. If I had to leave this world then it would be with dignity and joy, surrounded by my loved ones, doing what I loved doing best. I did not want to enter eternity through a hospital corridor.

But the lump kept growing, it was like a bomb, so very very fast it was growing! It was horrible, it even took up skin of my back. There was one starting to come out on the other breast and in the neck as well. I felt that I was beginning to die. I went to another oncologist, but when he saw me he said: but that is horrible, I can’t operate on that, the skin is coming apart.

Then a friend of mine called Jaime Maussan, who told me: you must try Simoncini, I have just finished his book. I could not sleep, I imagined a miracle, bought airplane tickets in the morning and in three days I was with Simoncini. He visited me, he said: this can be removed, I’ll see you tomorrow.

Later we went with Simoncini to talk to my oncologist, who said: you stay out, I do not know yet, but after 5 minutes Simoncini had convinced him. He explained how the treatment worked and already they were discussing how to do the operation! The next day I did not go home but went straight to the hospital where I would spend the night before the operation. The operation seems to have been quite a thing. While I was under sedation, I was opened up, and washed with over 8 litres of sodium bicarbonate. Then they left catheters in strategic places, so that all residues of fungi in the area could be killed, in the breast, in the back and in the other breast. The operation was an immediate success. The terrible stain, of which they had told me in December that they would not be able to close the skin, was practically gone within a week. The wound had healed perfectly. It looks just perfect.

“And do you still have cancer?” We did tests. It has now been about 5 months. After 3 months we did the first scan. There was absolutely no cancer to be seen. A week ago I had a test done in Mexico City, the one you get to wear headphones and they scan all your organs, and it was perfect, there was absolutely no cancer. I am completely cured. My eternal gratitude goes out to Simoncini.

There are no documents shown to prove Amelia Parra really had cancer, no diagnosis, no biopsy result, no pathology report; nothing. We don’t even know if the woman with the tumour and Amelia Parra are the same person. We only have the word of the woman telling the story.

But desperate people are desperate to believe. The video makes a great impression and brings Simoncini a lot of new customers.

His mantra that he is ousted by the scientific community because they hate innovative science is so lame and annoying: innovative scientists are the life blood of the scientific community, they are not ousted but awarded Nobel prizes. We don’t believe Simoncini does not know that this video means nothing. He is not stupid; he is looking for customers.

Thus is his contempt for his patients that he does not even bother to render his testimonials the least bit credibility. It is no more than advertising, and of the most despicable kind at that.
