Timbaland’s back at it. The video version only features SoShy because Nelly Furtado’s vocals were recorded after. We can imagine her vocals sounding so ill on this. But the opening statement: “Italy is so amazing, mom” is so American it makes us want to barf. Some American think that Italy is the only travel destination in the eastern hemisphere. Like, Rome and stuff.

Nelly Furtado is in the middle of promoting her Spanish album and it’s doing nothing for us. “Más” is the new single and it means “More” in English. But, also means “Bad” in Furtado’s native Portuguese language. It sounds Spanish though. She needs to get back to doing some great English pop songs for the world.

O veiculo foi apreendido removido para o pátio da PRF ficando sob responsabilidade dos patrulheiros.

Na cidade de Pouso Alegre, a Polícia Militar compareceu na Rua JOSÉ ALVARENGA, bairro Cidade Jardim, onde a vítima WANDEL HENRIQUE DA SILVA, 24 anos, aux. de expedição, relatou que estacionou seu veículo FIAT/UNO CS, cor branca, ano 88, placa GLP-8499-Pouso Alegre/MG, e saiu para buscar comprar combustível, ao retornar notou que havia sido furtado, foi realizado rastreamento, comunicado as cidades circunvizinhas,porém sem êxito em localizar o veículo.

Em Congonhal, a Polícia Militar foi acionada a comparecer na AV.Mário Silveira,S/N, Centro, onde a vítima R.M.S., 39 anos, técnico de refrigeração, relatou que estacionou no local seu veículo GM/MONZA, cor cinza, placa GPM-3434 de Lambari/MG, e ao retornar aproximadamente 01 hora depois deparou com 01 cidadão de cor clara, magro, no interior do seu veículo, o qual conseguiu dar partida e sair, consumando o furto e deslocando pela RODOVIA BR 459, sentido Ipuiúna/MG. De imediato foi acionado o cerco na fração de Senador José Bento, tendo a Viatura Policial de Congonhal deslocado em rastreamento pela citada rodovia, logrando êxito em localizar no BAIRRO DOS MARIANOS, ZONA RURAL, o veículo abandonado às margens da rodovia. Foi realizado contato com a PRF, sendo os militares orientados pelo Patrulheiro a tomarem as medidas de praxe, sendo o veículo apreendido e removido ao pátio do Auto Socorro WWS. Posteriormente aos fatos, os militares receberam informações anônimas relatando que o autor do furto, após abandonar o veículo naquele local, teria fugido em um veículo VW/GOL, sem mais dados, tomando rumo ignorado. Foi registrado na Delegacia de Polícia Civil local.

Postman – Postman (hiphop)

Anouk – For Bitter or Worse (pop/rock)

Naast Jantje en Yolanthe, Patricia en Adam en Hans en Connie kwam er dit jaar ook een einde aan de relatie tussen rapper Remon Stotijn (Postman) en zangeres Anouk. Ironie of niet, de twee brengen ook hun nieuwe album vrijwel gelijktijdig uit. En dat vraagt natuurlijk om een grondige vergelijking.

Van het negende studio album van Anouk weten we eigenlijk al wat te verwachten. Solide pop/rocksongs afgewisseld met gevoelige ballads en iets stevigere nummers. Postman, minder bekend bij het grote publiek, staat eigenlijk altijd garant voor een goede plaat.

Productie

Met Kills me opent Postman al meteen fantastisch. Verreweg het beste nummer van de cd en tevens de eerste single. De ingezette weg wordt vervolgens niet meer verlaten: fantastische productie waarbij old school hiphop wordt gepolijst met rock-, jazz- en soulinvloeden. Daarbij zijn vooral Crowded, The Way en Get out hoogtepunten.

Ballads

Waar Postman vrijwel alles goed doet, maakt Anouk er een onsamenhangend zooitje van. Ja, ze heeft de stem. De stem die haar eigenlijk altijd redt, zelfs als het nummer zwak is. Maar mag ze daar na twaalf jaar nog wel op blijven teren? Ze heeft vaker in een studio gestaan, dus je mag nu wel verwachten dat ze weet waar haar sterktes liggen. Die sterke punten zijn dus niet de totaal inwisselbare, zeikerige ballads (ik tel er vier), maar soulvolle, energieke nummers als In this World en Walk to the Bay. Die zijn er echter te weinig, waardoor For Bitter or Worse te veel skipmomenten bevat om een hoogtepunt in haar oeuvre te zijn.

Uiteraard gaat Anouk het komende jaar weer een paar keer de Arena of Gelredome uitverkopen. En Postman zal blij zijn geen bn’er meer te zijn. Het oordeel van deze strijd is echter: Postman wint niet op punten, maar met een knockout in de eerste ronde.

Nelly Furtado – Mi Plan (latin/pop)

Mi Plan is het vierde studio album van de Canadese schone Nelly Furtado. Na het succes van Loose in 2006, boort ze voor deze plaat haar Latijnse roots (want: Portugees bloed) aan voor een Spaanstalig album. Dat is dapper, maar ook verdomde jammer.

Furtado houdt ervan om nieuw muzikaal gebied te verkennen. Begonnen als triphopper, in haar pubertijd deel uitmakend van een rapformatie om vervolgens twee popalbums met mooie catchy gitaarliedjes te maken. Net toen ze door critici en publiek in de armen was gesloten gooide Furtado het roer opnieuw om. Een samenwerking met producer Timbaland was het gevolg, een commercieel megasucces met Loose het resultaat. Dat deze truc niet altijd werkt, wordt duidelijk op Mi Plan.

Hitpotentie

Het klinkt allemaal namelijk net iets te makkelijk. Ondanks het altijd aanwezige, fijne melancholieke stemgeluid van Furtado, gaat deze plaat ten onder aan zwakke productie en gelikte Latijnse wannabe Timbalandbeats. Commercieel succes uitgesloten? Nee, dat niet. Daarvoor hebben nummers als Manos al Aire en Bajo Otra Luz te veel hitpotentie.

Met Mi Plan laat Nelly Furtado andermaal zien dat ze er geen zak om geeft wat mensen van haar verwachten. Ze bewandelt haar eigen muzikale weg en daar moeten we het mee doen. We wachten dus in spanning af wat ze ons de volgende keer brengt. Helaas is dat nu veel te weinig.

Jay-Z – The Blueprint 3 (hiphop)

Twee maanden geleden bracht de zelfverklaarde ‘Greatest rapper alive’ Jay-Z de eerste single van zijn derde Blueprint album uit. Death of Auto-tune (D.O.A.) was een fenomenaal nummer dat het verwachtingspatroon tot ongezonde hoogtes wist op te krikken. D.O.A. is nog steeds fantastisch, de cd als totaalplaatje valt echter wat tegen.

Het is een probleem waar veel hiphoppers mee kampen: de productie van een plaat komt in handen van drie of vier producers met als gevolg een verzameling nummers waarin elk spoor van muzikale symmetrie of cohesie ontbreekt. Op The Blueprint 3 produceren Kanye West, Timbaland, No I.D. en Pharrell Williams. Dat zijn er drie teveel.

New York

Er valt echter nog genoeg te genieten. Samen met Alicia Keys brengt Jay-Z een indrukwekkende ode aan New York in Empire State of Mind en voor het epische Run this Town doet hij het met Rihanna en Kanye West.

The Blueprint 3 is niet het meesterwerk gebleken waar vooraf op gehoopt werd. Wel is het, dankzij een drietal topnummers, een waardige afsluiter van de Blueprint trilogie.

Moke – The Long and Dangerous Sea (pop/synthrock)

VARA-huisband Moke is terug voor een tweede album. Na Shorland (2007) pakt de Amsterdamse formatie het nu heel anders aan. Van stevige rock met Britse invloeden naar een jaren ’80 rocksound. Moke ontdekt synthesizers, drumcomputers en orgels. En Anton Corbijn deed het artwork.

Het lijkt erop dat de heren ergens in het afgelopen jaar hun cd-kast aan het opruimen waren, een oude plaat van Duran Duran vonden en zich hierdoor lieten inspireren. En daar is niks ergs aan, The Long and Dangerous Sea is namelijk een hele degelijke cd geworden met nauwelijks zwakke nummers. Het is wel jammer dat de band niet echt buiten de eigen oevers durft te treden en daardoor alles van hetzelfde laken en pak lijkt. Alleen de ballad Nobody’s Listening steekt daardoor boven de rest uit. Een vreemde eend in de bijt als je naar de rest van het album kijkt, maar wel van toegevoegde waarde.

Akoestische set

Overigens heeft Moke ook nog een extra schijfje toegevoegd aan The Long and Dangerous Sea. Het gaat om een akoestische set van Shorland en is zeer de moeite waard. Het toont eens te meer aan dat Moke zich duidelijk heeft ontwikkeld tot een completere band. En dat is alleen maar goed in een land dat zogenaamde artiesten als Nick, Simon en de Toppers aanbidt.

I think it’s about time for another of my legendary short Flo Rida reviews.
What a shit song by a shit man who can’t rap. Getting accompaniments from a woman who in retrospect should have lived off Fly Like A Bird and never touched anything ever again does not mean that a song is good. In fact the opposite. Although it has made him money. So if taking a woman who can never properly transfer from one genre to another and shouting fast then releasing it works, when you see me in ten years shouting along about nothing with Charlotte Church, you’ll know I will have made it.

We are not really big rave fans. XTC was so college. At any rate, Nelly Furtado has teamed up with rave guru Tiësto. The result is an influx of freak dance that is “Who Wants To Be Alone” on his album Kaleidoscope.

Em Pouso Alegre por volta das 7:30h do dia 06 de Setembro o SUPERMERCADO ALVORADA, localizado à Rua SILVIANO BRANDÃO, 144, Centro,foi furtado.A Polícia Militar deslocou para o local, onde o solicitante CARLOS ROBERTO DA COSTA, 40 anos, repositor, relatou que naquela manhã ao chegar para o trabalho, deparou com a porta do escritório arrombada, a porta do armário aberta e alguns objetos jogados no chão. Que imediatamente comunicou o ocorrido ao Sr. ANDERSON BATISTA BERNARDES, 31 anos, gerente geral do Supermercado Alvorada, o qual compareceu ao local e constatou que havia sido subtraído do citado armário, um malote que continha a quantia de R$ 87.878,28 (oitenta e sete mil oitocentos e setenta e oito reais e vinte e oito centavos), sendo R$ 43.645,13 (quarenta e três mil seiscentos e quarenta e cinco reais e treze centavos) em dinheiro e R$ 44.233,15 (quarenta e quatro mil duzentos e trinta e três reais e quinze centavos) em cheque. ANDERSON ao verificar o estabelecimento, constatou que a porta dos fundos do Supermercado, que é trancada com dois cadeados, se encontrava destrancada, ou seja, sem nenhum cadeado, e que o alarme do estabelecimento não havia sido acionado. Relatou ainda que ao verificar no computador as imagens do sistema de câmera, deparou com a tela travada, anunciando um sinal de vírus, sendo a última filmagem as 01:02 hora. Em contado com o funcionário responsável pela guarda do dinheiro, ele relatou que o dinheiro havia sido guardado no armário às 23:40 horas, conforme verificado no sistema de câmeras. Segundo o faxineiro, ele entrou de serviço às 21:00 horas e saiu às 02:45 horas, e não percebeu que a porta dos fundos estava destrancada. Que é responsável pelo acionamento do alarme do supermercado, contudo nesta madrugada o sistema de alarme apresentou problemas, não sendo possível acioná-lo. A Empresa de Segurança Privada PRISMA é responsável em acioná-lo em caso do alarme não ser acionado, porém em momento algum ele foi acionado pela referida empresa. A Perícia Técnica foi acionada, porém esta não compareceu, sendo então registrado os fatos na Delegacia de Polícia Civil.Até o momento não há pistas de suspeitos.
