The business of blogs is big business.

Then there are moments which reaffirm that blogs are not about selling, but for CONNECTING.  It’s about putting it all out there unfiltered, getting into disagreements, not afraid to look like a tool.  It’s the honesty that grabs you.

Kurt Sutter is about dishing up honesty and plays the new media game where the rules are being made up as we go.   People follow him because he is so provocative, so interesting that they want to tune in.  You may know him as the writer/producer of the FX television series called Sons of Anarchy.  He is an Academy Award-winning writer, actor and is well known for his work on The Shield.

He recently did an interview HERE about blogging and provided some insight on the TV show.  He also provides a shout-out about this blog as one his favorite motorcycle blogs.  Huh?  Sure, I’ve posted on the series, but I’ve certainly not been slobbering all over myself about the show.  In fact, I’ve been somewhat critical due to a number of episodes that I feel go beyond developing characters (Gemma’s rape; Tig bites the nose off a guys face) for the purpose of “goosing up” ratings with violence.   So where does that leave us?  Did Mr. Sutter “work” me?  I’ve been worked before.  I recognize it when I see it.  I’m not sure this time as Kurt is not some backwoods uneducated nit-wit who is clueless about the new media business.

Blind Faith once sang, it’s time to come down off your throne.  Mr. Sutter does that and for a split-second I felt like the blog mattered.  That’s the power of blogs.  You are momentarily CONNECTED.

Chegou ao fim mais uma novela de renovação no SBT. A apresentadora Hebe Camargo renovou seu contrato na noite de sábado, 28 de novembro, em sua casa no Morumbi.

 Segundo fonte do Portal PS, a loira estava acompanhada de seu sobrinho e recebeu a proposta das mãos de Daniela Beyruti e Paulo Franco.

 Detalhes do novo contrato não foram informados, mas sabe-se que é certa uma mudança de dia e horário da apresentadora na grade do SBT.

Não é novidade que a Rede Globo faz cortes consideráveis em toda sua programação. Quando exibiu o filme “Todo Mundo em Pânico”, em “Tela Quente”, pelo menos três cenas com piadas sexuais foram limadas da produção, mesmo com classificação de “indicado para maiores de 14 anos”.

Com os desenhos animados não é diferente. Quando transmitiu os animês “Sakura Card Captos” e “Samurai X” o fato se repetiu. Com o primeiro, um episódio chegou a durar somente 15 minutos, já no segundo três episódios foram editados em apenas um.

Apesar de irritar os fãs de desenhos japoneses, os cortes podem ser justificados pelo horário em que as produções iam ao ar, pela manhã, nos programas infantis.

Mas o que justifica mudanças na dublagem, cortes de cenas e alterações visuais por computador em uma animação transmitida de madrugada?

O desenho “Uma Família da Pesada” está tendo seus episódios inéditos da oitava temporada transmitidos às 03 da madrugada de sábado para domingo, após o programa “Altas Horas”.

Com classificação de “indicado para maiores de 14 anos”, foi ao ar hoje (29) o episódio “O bebê não está a bordo” e todos os fatos relatados acima ocorreram.

Para começar a dublagem foi feita especialmente para a Rede Globo, pois ela não está presente nem na TV paga (canal FX) e nem nos DVDs do desenho. Várias falas com piadas de cunho sexual fora amenizadas, assim como todas as citações a marcas foram retiradas, acabando com a graça de boa parte delas. Assim Hustler virou “revista erótica” e DirecTV foi ‘traduzido’ como “TV à cabo”.

Pelo menos duas cenas foram cortadas pela edição da emissora. Uma delas causou polêmica por mostrar a “lua de mel de José” fracassada, pois Deus transava com sua mulher, Maria.

Por fim uma cena foi alterada digitalmente. Após brigar no trânsito com seu amigo Quagmare, Peter mostra para ele seu ‘dedo do meio’, que foi “chamuscado” pela edição da emissora carioca.

A pergunta que não quer calar é… Por que censurar um desenho animado exibido de madrugada, cujo principal objetivo é justamente as piadas de cunho sexual e religioso? Inexplicável…

De acordo com dados preliminares da audiência, neste domingo (29), o Domingo Legal, apresentado por Celso Portiolli, dividiu a vice-liderança com a Rede Record.

Exibido das 11h às 14h44, a atração marcou 7 pontos de média (picos de 11), contra 7 da Record e 12 da Globo.

Foi destaque do programa do programa o grupo Sampa Crew, que relembram os sucessos e cantaram suas novas músicas. Teve também as aventuras de David Brazil e Maíra em Fortaleza e o divertido quadro “Você Não Vale Nada, Mas Eu Gosto de Você”.

Indicativo

O nome de Marília Assef tem aparecido como jornalista responsável, no fechamento de todos os telejornais da Rede TV!, depois da saída de José Emílio Ambrósio.

Há quem acredite que a sua efetivação é só uma questão de tempo.

Fim de ano

A Rede Globo já definiu data e local da festa dos seus funcionários em São Paulo. Será no dia 4 de dezembro, no HSBC, com show do Skank.

A Rede TV! vai promover algo parecido, dia 18, nas suas novas instalações, em Osasco.

Uma pena

O caso do canal Record News é mais grave do que se imaginava a princípio.

Em Santa Catarina, por exemplo, além de inserções do reality “A Fazenda”, vários espaços da sua grade passaram a ser ocupados também por programas da Igreja Universal.

Lamentavelmente, a proposta inicial de um “canal de notícias – 24 horas no ar”, ao que parece, foi definitivamente sepultada.

Tirou um peso

O prêmio da novela “Caminho das Índias”, no Emmy Internacional, foi o grande assunto da TV Globo semana passada.

Durante a entrega do “Profissionais do Ano”, por exemplo, não se falou em outra coisa.

A vitória também significou alívio. Afinal, a emissora, na fila há 27 anos, concorria em cinco categorias.

Novo empresário

Alexandre Corrêa, marido e empresário de Ana Hickmann, passa a responder pela carreira da apresentadora Ticiane Pinheiro, mulher de Roberto Justus, que tem contrato com a Record até dezembro de 2010.

A partir de agora, é tudo com ele.

Deixa comigo

Ninguém sabe se ele pretende se escolher como apresentador, mas Silvio Santos vai gravar o piloto do “Jogo das Loiras”, dia 14, no SBT. A seleção continua até amanhã.

Serão escolhidas 55 moças, mas cinco como reservas, para uma eventualidade qualquer. Sabe-se que 32 já estão confirmadas.

Papo que corre

Entre tudo que está para acontecer com “A Turma do Didi”, do Renato Aragão, há agora também o risco do programa perder Guto Franco, o seu diretor. É o assunto dos bastidores.

Mesmo com mais dois anos de contrato na Globo, dizem, Guto pretende encarar novos desafios. Talvez numa outra emissora.

Zero-quilômetro

No próximo domingo, dia 6, estreia o quadro “Meu Primeiro Carro”, da Eliana, no SBT.

O programa vai oferecer um automóvel zerinho a jovens estudantes, que colaborarem com entidades beneficentes. Mas também não será tão simples assim.

Evidente que antes de levar o prêmio, os candidatos terão que se submeter e superar uma série de provas.

Dois pontos

1º – A anunciada proposta da Rede TV! de acabar com a venda de horários na sua grade, anunciada e prometida para 2010, ao que parece, já não é bem assim. Informa-se agora que o objetivo continua sendo este, mas tudo será feito de maneira gradativa e obedecendo a certos critérios, que ninguém por enquanto sabe quais são. Então tá.

2º – E a Rede TV! está com problemas em Salvador. O canal 18 agora exibe a programação da CNT.

Tudo em família

Por enquanto a ordem é não assumir publicamente. Coisa de artista.

Mas já se sabe que Bruno Gagliasso atacou de cupido e juntou um novo par, formado por Thiago Martins e uma prima da atriz Giovanna Ewbank.

Especial musical

A Record grava dias 16 e 17, no espaço para eventos Castelli Master, em Uberlândia, o especial “Ressoar Mega Show – por um mundo melhor”.

A produção do “Domingão do Faustão” também terá férias durante todo o mês de janeiro. Mas com programas inéditos no ar. Nenhuma reprise.

Jornalismo do SBT continua perdendo peças importantes dos seus bastidores para a Record. Na sexta-feira foi a vez de um produtor.

Complicado entender os critérios do futebol. Band e Globo, ontem, Corinthians e Flamengo para todo Brasil. Goiás e São Paulo só para São Paulo.

Um encontro emocionante levantou a plateia do Domingão do Faustão, da Globo, na noite de domingo (29), e virou hit na internet. Enquanto Fábio Jr. apresentava seu novo CD com sucessos sertanejos, o cantor foi surpreendido com a presença do filho Fiuk, novo galã da novela teen Malhação.

Filipe Galvão que, além de ator, também é vocalista da banda Hori, interrompeu a conversa do cantor com Fausto Silva e surgiu interpretando o sucesso Pai. Comovido, Fábio não se conteve e começou a chorar.

Durante a exibição no Fantástico, no domingo (29), de cenas do making off de seu recente ensaio na Playboy, Flávia Alessandra, 35 anos, aparece com os seios à mostra em dois momentos. Pois é, a edição colaborou com os marmanjos de plantão. As imagens, claro, já foram parar no site YouTube.

Na matéria, Flávia Alessandra é entrevistada por Zeca Camargo, que enaltece a beleza e o talento da atriz, que atualmente está na novela global Caras & Bocas. Alguns atores, como Antonio Fagundes, Marcos Palmeira, Henri Castelli e Evandro Mesquita derramam seda para a atriz.

“Ela tem um borogodó especial”, disse Evandro.

“Ela tem um senso de humor muito inteligente”, elogiou Henri.

I’ve been in the City this week working from the floor of Saxo Bank in Canary Wharf.  Unfortunately by the the time I get there and set-up most of the good runs had already kicked off. I’ll write more about that in a later post.

Anyway today (Friday) was the same, fears of contagion from Dubai left asian markets tumbling and with that the currencies followed as capital ran for perceived cover in USD and Yen.  Cable had already dropped 120+ points by the time I’d set-up.  I was literally setting up my laptop at 7am when it crashed south again hard.  Not surprisily my early morning relative strength analysis was showing Yen and Dollar strength along with Sterling weakness so I was looking for an opportunity to sell GBPUSD.

Had I been set-up and alert I would have loved to have sold the pivot off the descending triangle sloping resistance line but instead I was left to watch price plummet.

After such a sharp drop price was always expexcted to rally and it promptly did so.   As price rallied back to original support line I was waiting to see whether it would become resistance as I was still looking for an opportunity to short GBPUSD.  The next chart and comments explains the trade well.

 1. Price has rallied back to previous support which I’m looking to now become resistance.  Had I been on my game and operating from my office I may well have ’sold the line’ at approx 6370.  That is part of my next evolution as a Trader. When price fails and produces a hammer then I ‘m happy to be a seller and place a short order at 6376 should price go back to that level.

2. The next couple of bars are nice small inside bars which lead me to believe that price is not going to head north to my level but will just drop south.  I’m going to hit the short at market if its drops.  Which it does.  I short @ 6353 with a stop @6382.  1st Target is 6333 for +20. Open 2nd target but I’m eyeing previous support at approx 6280.

3. Price drops then comes back to the 5 min 15ema.  I’m comfortable and happy so far. Price forms a hi-test reversal bar (positive hammer, shooting star, call it what you will.)  I’m comfortable being aggressive today and I decide to add to my position if it continues to drop.

4. Price does break the low of the hi-test bar and so I sell at market. ‘Order rejected’ comes back my broker (for reasons best know to himself).  I try and hit sell again and once more my order is rejected.  I’m confused and angry…and taken out of the moment. I’m fuming at my broker. I reckon my broker must be overwhelemed with all the market shenanigans this morning and can’t handle my huge whopping £1 a point add-on position.  I place an order to add at 6328 should that price drop that low. 

Also at point 4 price hits a low of 6330 on my Tradestation and Metatrader charts and I have my 1st tgt order at 6333…….but my order at my broker is not filled!  When I check their charts they say price never got below 6334!  I’m now using a fair amount of foul language to describe my broker and how if they were here in my office they’d be leaving the building via the 26th floor window.

5. So having not had my add-on position filled and my 1st target order not filled what does price do?  Naturally it reverses on the spot and slams back north.  With wondorous hindsight I should have just closed the postion at break-even on the entry point and stepped aside.  However things were happening fast and I was out of the moment wondering about what my broker was playing at.  Price did honour the resistance line at that moment.

6. Price decided to continue north and hits my stop loss at 6382 for -29 points.  Frustrating to say the least on what should have been a +20 or break-even trade at worst.

Points learnt:

1.  Brokers will always mess you around.  You need to be able to deal with it in your stride and not let it distract you from your charts.

2. Nice idea on trying to add to my trade…though I admit it is ballsy to be adding to 5 min chart trades.  But I’m comfortable that it looked like a good set-up.

3. As the saying goes “When fear and doubt reign…cash is king.” I should have just closed the position at break-even when I had the chance.  I was distracted by being in a room full of 30 people and by pace of market movement and my brokers shenanigans.  Just get off the bus, there’s always another one coming along.

Aussie is looking set to resume its decline in what is potentially a “third of a third” scenario:

The counter trend move off what is currently labeled as wave i of minute [iii] is in 7 waves, which is a corrective count.  It’s too early to count the subdivisions, but a WXY zigzag is the best fit, so far.  Also, any attempt at trying to work counter trend moves within any wave 3 structure is usually an exercise in futility.

Of interest is also where this counter trend rise seems to have met resistance so far:

This is the trendline off the March 2009 lows that has held (appears a lot clearer in a daily chart).  A break of wave i of [iii] low could very well end up with an extremely swift acceleration.

Euro also shows a 7 wave rise off the recent low, bolstering the possibility that all are getting in sync (yet again).

2NE1 member Park Bom’s solo debut song ‘You And I’ is the best hit song online for the month of November.

According to music portal site Dosirak on 29th November, the song is up #1 on the monthly chart for the month of November. In the cold late-Autumn winter, it seems that this song is just the right song for the mood and has received much love from music fans.

At #2 is Brown Eyed Girls with ‘Sign’, #3 Baek Ji Young with ‘Don’t Forget’ and #4 with Seo In Kook’s debut song ‘Calling You’. It seems ballad is doing well this month.

The start of this week looks somewhat better compared to the end of last week. Although nervousness will remain amidst thinning liquidity, news that the UAE central bank “stands behind” local and foreign banks and will lend, albeit at a rate of 0.5% above the 3-month benchmark rate, will reassure investors that banks have sufficient liquidity in the wake of any losses suffered due to the Dubai Holdings debacle. This will see some improvement in risk appetite.

The news will unlikely prevent stock markets in the UAE, which open today following Eid holidays, from sliding, however. Attention will turn to the suspended Sukuk bonds and also to the extent of support (and any strings attached) provided by Abu Dhabi to Dubai. The support from the central bank will help markets outside of the UAE regain a little composure and limit demand for safe haven assets but the rally may prove limited until there is greater transparency.

Nonetheless, even if there is some relief at the beginning of this week due to some containment of the problems in Dubai nerves are likely to fray going into the end of the year, with the multi-month trend of improving risk appetite faltering. There have been plenty of reasons for markets to worry lately including concerns about the shape of economic recovery in the months to come as well as renewed banking sector concerns and these will not be allayed quickly.

Data this week in the US is unlikely to help to dampen growth concerns. The main event is the US November jobs report and although the magnitude of job losses is set to decrease the unemployment rate is set to remain stubbornly high around 10.2%. In addition to an expected decline in the November ISM manufacturing index suggests that growth concerns will intensify rather than lessen. This in turn highlights that any improvement in risk appetite this week will prove limited.

The other key events this week include interest rate decisions in Europe and Australia. Although the ECB is widely expected to leave rates on hold on Thursday, there will be plenty of attention on any details of the Bank’s “gradual” exit strategy. Whether the ECB offers new loans to banks at a variable interest relative to the current fixed rate will be taken as an important sign on the path of liquidity withdrawal. We believe the Bank will stick with a fixed rate. The RBA will take a step further and announce a 25bps interest rate hike tomorrow.

FX markets are likely to be buffeted by the gyrations in risk appetite but at least at the beginning of the week the USD is set to give up its recent gains, with EUR/USD likely to try and hold above 1.5000 as markets digest the better news coming from the UAE. The JPY will be a particular focus given the growing attention of the authorities in Japan. Finance Minister Fujii is quoted in the Japanese press that they won’t intervene in the FX market, which appears to give the green light to further JPY strength though I suspect that if USD/JPY drops below 85.00 again there will plenty of FX intervention speculation and in any case these comments have since been denied.
