So its been a little while since I’ve posted and theres a few things that have caught my eye that I NEED to share with you all (7 people who read this blog haha).

80s sunnies – as you may have noticed theres been a massive surge in 80s inspired fashion and it’s no less apparent in the sunnies department. Several years ago it was aviators that were the thing and now you’ve probably noticed Ray Bans are THE hot ticket look at the moment but that is set to change (although there’ll always be some losers who cling to them). No, no longer will raybans (which i noticed peaked in popularity when the “actors” in Twilight sported them) be the dominant sunglasses look, instead watch out for a style more like this:

Oliver People frames

The style of frame is called Oliver People’s, and they will become quite big this summer, so watch out for them. If you like to stay ahead of trends I’d suggest picking up a pair, one place to go would be Incu men’s on Flinder’s Lane in the city.

So I work at G Star and the new drop crotch Scuba Elwoods have come in, and I tried them on. They’re not being put out on the floor yet so this is like a sneak peak at this very different (and cool) look that is becoming available. I doubt they’ll ever really catch on on in a huge way because they’re too different but no doubt you’ll see them around, worn by people who like to be different for the sake of it (people who think they are “avant garde”). Anyway they’re a sexy pair of jeans whether your wear them or not and I love G Star for making them.

So thats my summary of some thoughts I’ve had about various fashion topics recently, I’ve got a few more blog posts planned (about other stuff like eating for free on a Saturday morning) so keep your peepers peeled!

ปีที่แล้ว มีบริษัทเข้าร่วมงานกว่า 162 บริษัทจาก 17 ประเทศและมีผู้เข้าชมงานกว่า 180,000 คน ไม่ ว่าจะเป็นนอกบริษัทยักษ์ใหญ่อย่าง Microsoft และ Intel และบริษัทภายในประเทศของเกาหลีใต้เองอย่าง NC Soft, NHN และ Nexon ก็เข้าร่วมงานด้วยคุณ Ted Seo ผู้บริหารทั่วไปของ KOCCA ผู้จัดงาน G★Star 2009 เกริ่น ว่า “งานปีที่แล้วประสบความสำเร็จด้วยดี โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมทั้งผู้เข้าชมและบริษัทเกมทั่วโลกให้การสนับสนุน และปีนี้เราหวังว่าจะมีบริษัทต่างๆ และ ผู้เข้าชมมาร่วมในงานมากขึ้น”

ปีนี้ ภายในศูนย์การประชุม Bexco ได้เตรียมบู้ธจัดแสดงกว่าร้อยบูทที่ขนเอาเกมและเทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ มาแสดง โดยบู้ธจะถูกแบ่งเป็นสองส่วนคือ B2C และ B2B ในส่วนของ B2B ก็จะเป็นบู้ธภายในได้ในของศูนย์การประชุม ให้บริษัทได้พบปะเจรจาธุรกิจระหว่างกัน ซึ่งงานนี้เป็นโอกาสอันดีที่จะซื้อขายเกมกันภายในงาน และสร้างพันธมิตรทางธุรกิจ

ส่วนทางด้านบู้ธ B2C ก็จะมีบู้ธ และบริษัทมากมายเปิดตัวเกมใหม่และโครงการในอนาคต รวมไปถึงเทคโนโลยีล่าสุดและเทรนด์ของเกมอีกด้วย ซึ่งบู้ธในงานมีทั้งเกม Console, Arcade, Board และเกมบนโทรศัพท์มือถือ และที่สำคัญที่สุดคือเกมออนไลน์ ที่มีทั้ง MMORPG, Action และ Casual ซึ่งบริษัทเหล่านี้ก็ให้ผู้ร่วมเข้าชมงานได้สัมผัสตัวเกมใหม่ๆ ที่กำลังพัฒนาอีกด้วย

First port of call is the G-Star fashion show.

Fast becoming the must see show of fashion weeks worldwide, G-Star never fails to deliver a spectacle nothing short of exceptional. Grand scale venues, multi million pound shows, celebrity packed audiences and innovative designs that propel denim into unknown territories. This years SS10 show at the Hammersmith Ballroom, New York certainly lived up to all expectations. Top Buyers from all over the world were invited as the now global brand is seen on trend setters worldwide from Tokyo and Sydney to Berlin and LA. Our very own Menswear Buyer was amongst the fashion elite to check out the new concepts G-Star visualize being big next season and bring all the inside info back to USC.

Bumping, raucous music teamed with a futuristic catwalk display set the scene for the show. Models appeared from pod like cylinders that lit up the stage and were reminiscent of teleportation devices from sci-fi films, the message was strong… G-Star is the future. As always the brand likes to add new denim twists to styles that can be seen on designer catwalks alike. Maritime military mixed with a nostalgic nod to the 20’s appeared to influence the collection. Sharp tailoring mixed with sumptuous silk fabrics, billowing detail and striking silhouettes could be seen throughout the show, looks that will certainly filter through into the mainline collections next year. Slim jeans are very much a high focus, a feature from last years catwalk show that influenced us to buy in the new style Scuba Extreme Slim (which will be in stores in a few weeks) and we very much look forward to see what evolves from this years show.

mGame ผู้พัฒนาเกมชั้นนำของเกาหลี ได้กล่าวถึงการทดสอบของเกม MMORPG ตัวล่าสุดอย่าง ARGO ที่มีกำหนดการ Close Beta Test ไปแล้วเมื่อวันที่ 31 ต.ค. – 2 พ.ย. ว่า ไม่น่าพึ่งพอใจนัก พร้อมประกาศเตรียมแก้ไขให้ดีที่สุดก่อนงาน G-Star Busan 2009

หลักจาก mGame เปิด CBT รอบที่ 1 ของเกมใหม่ล่าสุดอย่าง ARGO ได้มีผู้เข้าร่วมทดสอบกว่า 6,000 คน โดยตัวเกมได้แบ่งฝ่ายของผู้เล่นเป็นสองฝ่าย ได้แก่ ‘Adrian Noble’ และ ‘Flowresera’ โดยมีอาชีพให้เลือกเล่นแล้วสามสายอาชีพ ได้แก่ Fighter Mage และ Rouge ซึ่งมีเควสต์ในเกมให้เลือกทำแล้วกว่า 500 เควสต์

แต่กระแสตอบรับจากโฮมเพจของ Argo กลับได้เสียงตอบรับไม่ดีนัก เนื่องจากมีบัคในระบบมากมาย ทำให้ผู้เล่นไม่พึงพอใจเสียส่วนใหญ่

คุณ Chae Jiyoung, Oversea PM ของ mGame กล่าวให้คำสัญญากับผู้เล่นว่า “แม้ว่าการ CBT จะออกมาไม่ดีนัก ซึ่งเวลาเพียง 4 วันกลับมีผู้เล่นให้กระแสรับกลับมามากมาย ก็ต้องขอขอบคุณเหล่าผู้เล่นเหล่านั้นเป็นอย่างมาก ซึ่งข้อมูลต่างๆ จะใช้ในการปรับปรุงเกม Argo ต่อไป”

ทาง mGame ยังกล่าวอีกว่า เตรียมปรับปรุงเกม และ เปิดให้ผู้เล่นเข้าไปสัมผัสเกม Argo อย่างใกล้ชิดในงาน G-Star Busan 2009 ในวันที่ 26 พฤศจิกายนอย่างแน่นอน

New York, September 10-17, 2009
By the time the first shows hit the runways in New York, it was clear summer was over and a new season had begun. XXXX Magazine hit the shows to check out the latest trends coming out of New York fashion week… there was an interesting energy of new and old hitting the city with the new Mac & Milk space set up at Milk Studios creating a modern venue for shows and presentations, as well out with the old… as the last season of fashion week at Bryant Park set the stage for an end to an era in New York. What were the major trends that came out of such a setting? Between the 139 shows and 69 presentation on the calendar, New York forecasted many trends that later hit the international runways of London, Paris and Milan…

X – NEUTRAL X NEUTRAL
In a fight to keep sales up in the credit crunch, designers veered towards classic shades that hold timeless appeal… clothing that can be worn again and again, and can be staple pieces in any wardrobe. Clean, crisp, safe and of course neutral … shades of white, grey and beige or khaki made up almost exclusively the color palette of many shows… simple, clean aesthetics for a conservative wallet…
The collections of Adam, Christian Siriano, Doo-ri, Elise Overland, G-Star, Herve Leger, Jeremy Laing, Luca-Luca, Malandrino, Marc Jacobs, Max Azria, Monarchy, Tadashi Shoji, Tommy Hilfiger and Vassilios who maintained monotone neutral looks…

X – THE ART OF COLLAGING

High craft fashion has invaded the New York runways. Patchworking, Cutouts, peek-a-boo slits, and clashing fabric textures layered and sewn together created a new treatment to fabric that we haven’t seen since the 70’s. This modern translation of traditional patchworking deserves it’s own term, as it is an art onto itself. Fabric pieces and layers are integrated with woven effects and unusual fabric treatments that make the art of “collaging” a new look for 2010.

Designers who presented looks with these kind of elements were 3.1 Phillip Lim, Behnaz Sarafpour, Herve Leger, Jill Stuart, Marc Jacobs, Max Azria, Hervé Léger, Rodarte, Thakoon, Thuy, Y-3 and Zac Posen. Rodarte’s collages of burnt plaid cheesecloth, sandpapered silk, and woven leather braid skirts and vests stood out as some of the strongest designs with this effect.

X –ASYMMETRIC

Following from the fall/winter ‘09 trend of one-shouldered looks, spring collections once again showcased more than ever asymmetrical designs. There were 80’s body-con versions, 90’s architectural takes and 70’s ruffled romantic looks hitting the runways all with asymmetrical cuts shaping the silhouette.
A recurring theme throughout the week, this season it has grown in strength with designers such as Calvin Klein, Mark Jacobs, BCBG Max Azria, Halston, Jason Wu, Jill Stuart, Luca-Luca, Malandrino, Marchesa, Matthew Ames, Milly, Nicolas K, Tadashi Shoji, Thuy, Tommy Hilfiger, Vassilios, Y-3, Yigal Azrouel and Zac Posen cutting their fabrics with asymmetrical lines.

X – ROMANCES AND RUFFLES
It was all about frills and romance as Spring 2010 heralds the return of romantic dressing. Light and fluid fabrics floated down the runways with ruffles and frills reminiscent of 70’s backlit summer days. Long free flowing skirts, ruffles and exposed lingerie presented a softer touch for spring.

Designers who had a love affair this season with ruffles and frills were Adam Lippes, BCBG Max Azria, Christian Siriano, Luca-Luca, Malandrino, Mara Hoffman, Marc Jacobs, Marchesa, Monarchy, Narciso Rodriguez, Tadashi Shoji, Tibi, Vivienne Tam and Zac Posen.

X – DESERT TRIBAL
Ethnic prints, animal motifs, geometric tribal patterns, turbans, harem pants and chunky jewelry with a modern Marrakech feel hit the runways throughout the city. Tight hair pulled back with a high braid or hair wrapped in turbans and even the “genie” headscarf look completed the effect of tribal dressing.

Catherine Malandrino was one of the designers most noted for celebrating this look with her collection based on nomadic tribes from Africa. Others include Diane Von Furstenberg, Custo Barcelona, Rosa Cha, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rodarte and Proenza Schouler.

X TANGERINE DREAM
One color that was impossible to miss this season with the infiltration of Orange everywhere. Many collections only showed neutrals with slices of orange thrown in for a bit of flavor. Traditionally the color orange stands for courage, so perhaps this is a statement of the times to be courageous. With all the 70’s references floating about it’s hard not to also forget that Orange was The color of the 70’s.

BB Gun / Paintball und Siam Park

Viel Action mit ein wenig Schwund……

… wie heist es doch so schön…. Ungeschicktes Fleisch muss ab….

Das letzte Wochenende im September waren wir Paintball schießen. Diese Lust bestand schon in Deutschland, aber nein, in Thailand mit Temperaturen über 33 Grad haben wir es dann gespielt

Mit Langarm Overall, Woll-Gesichtsmaske/Mütze, Schutzweste und Helm (ich wiederhole, bei Temperaturen über 33 Grad) sind wir dann ins Gelände. Da wir alle das noch nie gespielt hatten, fingen wir im “Kinder Gehege” an. Da standen riesige weiße Luftkissen / Gebilde wo sich jeder hinter versteckte und dann fleißig versuchte den Gegner abzuschießen. Bei der Einweisung, wie man sich zu verhalten hatte, lief uns schon die Suppe den Beinen runter und es kam uns vor wie Stunden…. Umso lustiger war es dann, als es losging, und sich erst mal keiner wirklich getraut hatte, sich von seinem Schutzwall fortzubewegen.

2 Runden im “Kinder Gehege” und dann ging es ab ins große freie Gehege. Das hat richtig Laune gemacht. Sich hinter Baume und Hecken zu verstecken, über den Boden zu robben, um sich an die Gegner anzuschleichen, war echt geil, auch wenn man vor lauter Schweiß durchnässt war

Kathy hat sich super geschlagen. Im Ganzen waren wir 5 Männer und 2 Frauen. Zum Schluss waren nur noch Kathy und Kwesi im Rennen, und da Kathy keine Munition mehr hatte, hatte Kwesi das ganze gewonnen. Natürlich hat man hier Blessuren davon getragen. Kathy hatte 2 ganz heftige Einschläge an Schulter und Oberarm abbekommen, welche sich in den darauf folgenden Tagen ziemlich blau/lila und hinterher grün/gelb färbten

Thorsten hatte lediglich ne Beule am Kopf davon getragen, was aber nicht wirklich schlimm war. Denn, wir wollen das auf jeden Fall noch einmal machen aber eher im Dezember oder Januar, wenn die Temperaturen knapp unter 30 Grad liegen

Erstes Wochenende im Oktober waren wir im Siam Park. Ein Park aufgebaut wie Freizeitpark Rust oder Phantasialand, nur grösser mit Safari Park und Wasserpark.

Dieser Tag war für den Wasserpark geplant, wo wir gegen halb elf morgens bis abends kurz vor sechs, waren. Mit riesigem Wellenbad und Monsterrutschen genossen wir den Tag. In wie so üblich musste Kathy mal wieder verarztet werden. Beim Rutschen hat sie sich den Nagel samt Nagelbett (Fleisch) aufgerissen. Und die Frauen die auch künstliche Nägel haben, wissen wie schmerzvoll das Ganze ist. Also ab mit Ihr in den FIRST AID (Erste Hilfe) und behandeln lassen. Der Nagel wurde komplett runter geschnitten, dann mit Jod und Pflaster verarztet, und für Kathy war Schluss mit Rutschen. Der Tag war aber trotzdem sehr schön, und neue (rötliche) Farbe haben wir auch getankt

Beim Eintrittspreis zum Wasserpark hatte man noch eine Freizeitpark Attraktion seiner Wahl frei. Also sind wir (ohne Thorsten) noch auf die Looping Bahn (Boomerang) gegangen. Oh wow…. Kathy war seit bestimmt 10 Jahren nicht mehr auf einer Achterbahn, und kam daher mit etwas zittrigen Knieen wieder von der Bahn

Was die nächsten Wochenenden so passiert, wissen wir noch nicht, aber wir haben noch so einiges vor….

nächstes Wochenende kommt bald….Ende Oktober geht’s nach Koh Samui.

Desfiles estrelados

Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs e G-Star mostram suas novas coleções com muito burburinho e  presenças ilustres

O mundo fashion não para. E cada vez mais estrelado, levou aos últimos desfiles estrelas e celebridades para prestigiarem as novas coleções das grifes Calvin Klein, G-Star e Marc Jacobs.

O último, que foi um dos mais disputados da Semana de Moda de Nova York, recebeu na primeira primeira fila a rainha do pop Madonna e polêmica Lady Gaga, que apareceu de máscara e mechas cor-de-rosa nos cabelos, além de Cecília Dean, Aléxis Bryan, Hilary Alexander. Na passarela, o estilista trouxe uma coleção inspirada no ballet, mesclando cores e sua referência punk.

Já a Calvin Klein investiu em uma coleção desenvolvida pelo brasileiro Francisco Costa. Cheia de volumes, as peças foram inspiradas na arte de Ferne Jacobs, artista californiana que trabalha com trançados manuais, técnica antiga usada na fabricação de cestas.

O estilista deixou um pouco seu tom arquitetônico de lado para mergulhar na leveza dos tecidos e na naturalidade das formas. A cartela de cores mostrou tons minimalistas, como branco, preto, grafite, nude e tons claros de amarelo, rosa e azul bebê. Além da musa da marca Eva Mendes, o desfile contou com uma primeira fila recheada de rostinhos conhecidos do mundo fashion, como Thandie Newton, Karolina Korkova, a brasileira Alice Braga e as grandes editoras Anna Winrour da Vogue América e Carine Roitfeld da Vogue francesa.

Por fim, a G-Star, que tem como fãs incondicionais Lindsay Lohan, Juliette Lewis, Mena Suvari e a tatuadora Kat Von D apresentou uma coleção de  jeanswear levinhos para o verão, com shortinhos, jaquetas de manga curta e calças com corte saruel. A novidade é que a grife  queridinha das celebrities está prestes a chegar no Brasil, com data para sua estreia marcada para o ano que vem, pelas mãos do empresário Alexandre Brett.

De shows in Milaan voor lente/zomer 2010 zijn in volle gang, die van New York en Londen zijn achter de rug. Gelukkig hoef je als ‘fashion nobody’ tegenwoordig niet meer te wachten op de verslagen van ‘de bladen’. Zodra een show gelopen is, staat alles op internet, inclusief commentaar. Ik bekijk nu bijna dagelijks de catwalkfoto’s op m’n scherm.

Voor mij is het nog veel te vroeg om uit de shows te destilleren wat de trends voor volgend jaar lente en zomer zijn (duurt nog 6 maanden! – ik heb nog herfst- en winterzaken op mijn modeverlanglijstje staan). Ik laat het gewoon over me heenkomen en geniet ervan.

Mijn favorieten tot nu toe: G-Star, Marc Jacobs, Burberry en D&G. Waarom?

G-Star, vanwege de street-chique ontwerpen.

D&G, vanwege de luchtige cowboy-look – veel spijkerstof en zwierige strokenrokjes.

Burberry, vanwege de ‘geknoopte’ rokken en klassiekers met een twist.

En Marc Jacobs, vanwege de dromerige oosterse sfeer die de kleding bij me oproept.

Ik kan nog even virtueel genieten (Parijs moet nog komen), daarna moet ik weer terug naar de realiteit en warme winterkleren uit de kast opdiepen.

Drop-crotch seems to be coming up all over the place. People either love it or hate it, and it’s a pretty loud trend in Europe and Australia. Mjolk offers up these organic cotton jersey trousers. If slouch is not your thing, don’t worry. If you’re a risk-taker, dive in do some dancing in celebration of the 4.5 million animals recently saved from cruel experiments.

A famosa marca holandesa G-Star Raw apresenteu em Nova York sua coleção primavera-verão, irreverente, ousada e hype,  que abusou dos looks azuis, principalmente no tom BIC que é uma das cores febres da estação. Tirando algumas combinações e propostas meio loucas e inviáveis como o terno azul listrado de branco com bermuda cargo xadreza e tênis estilo All Star sem meia, a coleção no geral é bem interessante,comercial e concisa.

NEWS: E para quem ainda não sabe a G-Star abrirá uma loja em São Paulo em 2010, a primeira na América Latina. É só aguardar né!?!?
