This graphite 2005 Infiniti g35 coupe is a rebuilt/salvaged title car that runs perfect. It has 72,xxx miles on it and has 20inch TSW Thruxtons with 255 Toyos all around. It also has an aem cold air intake and Tein lowering kit. It has the refreshed 05 interior, moonroof, 6 cd changer that plays mp3, tinted windows, and automatic transmission (tiptronic). It was in a front end collision and fully repaired and has no frame damage, alignment issues, or motor problems. There is also a minor dent on the passenger rear quarter panel (the paint is fully intact and undamaged). Went to bed at around 11 pm but couldn’t fall asleep till around 12 I guess. Woke up at 1:35 ish and showered. Left the house with Pat at around 2 ish to head out to north LA to meet up with the WFC caravan at Dennys.

Got to Dennys in Sylmar at around 3:20 ish, we were the first ones there. About 5 min after we got there, a couple Subaru’s show up. A sick Legacy and two wagons =).

They just came up from Temecula.

We went inside to sit down and grab something to eat. More and more cars started rolling in and etc.

We waited for Josh and others to roll in and etc then headed out for NorCal at 4:30 am.

There was about 15 of us. It was a pretty nuts sight ahaha. Super low cars bouncing and scraping along haha. Every time there was a big bump, you would smell tire smoke as the tires rub against everyone’s fenders lol.

We made our first stop about 2 hours into the drive at a 76 gas station.

There was a flock of birds flying around pretty low and suddenly one of the birds comes zooming and flys straight into the store’s window. It landed on the ground and twitched a little bit, then it stopped moving. One of the guys goes and touches it with his foot and it suddenly sits up but still remains motionless. Probably in shock or something. About 2 minutes after this happened another bird hits the window but not as hard as the first one, lol. At this time we were all like, ok lets GTFO lol.

Yesterday I hit up a big G35 meet in Long Beach. There were over 50 cars in and out during the course of the morning, including that 600hp black sedan in the picture. My friend Nat lost out on a free Nismo bumper in a raffle while we grabbed some lunch, sorry buddy. Cool meet overall and it was nice to see what the other car communities are up to rather than Subarus all the time.

As you can see my rear rotors were certainly getting to the end of their miserable and thoroughly abused life.  You know your rotors are bad when they’re a big ridge between the shiny and rust parts as well the face of the rotor has deep scores (valleys).

Weapons Required:

• 1/2″ drive Rachet set with 12mm, 19mm and 21mm sockets and a few extenstions
• 1/2″ drive Breaker bar
• Anti-seize compound
• Brake slider compound
• Lever
• Hammer

Getting Setup

Using the breaker bar and a 21mm socket, loosen the lugnuts on your rear wheels.  Chock your front wheels, jack the G from the rear diff as high as possible and get those jack stands under there.  Check and double-check your jack stands that they’re on nice and solid.  Remove your rear wheels and set them aside.

Caliper Bolt, Caliper and Pads

Remove the top caliper slider bolt that is pictured to the left, with a 12mm socket.  This sucker is usually on pretty tight so you might want to use a breaker bar.  Remember lefty loosey but this bolt is facing the other way, so you’ll need to go RIGHTY – loosey.

Loosen the slider bolt all the way out.  Mine was stuck in there very tight so I had to use a lever and hammer to tap it out.  You don’t need to remove the bottom caliper slider bolt, and in fact you can’t so don’t bother.

Now rotate the caliper down and remove the brake pads.

Torque Member Bolts and Caliper Assembly

Use your 19mm (I think) to loosen the top and bottom torque member bolts.  These suckers are on tight as they attach the caliper to the knuckle.  In the picture I’ve already removed the top bolt and I had to use an extension to clear the lower control arm.  I was able to use the rachet to loosen mine but you may have to get under the car and use that breaker bar.  Once you break the initial torque, you can loosen them by hand until they are fully out.

Now carefully take the caliper and assembly that is still attached to the rubber brake lines and put it on the upper control arm out of the way.  Feel free to use a bungy cord and make sure it doesn’t fall off or rest on the brake line.

Replace the Rotor and Install Caliper

Loosen the rotor by tapping it on opposing sides with your hammer.  The rotor can be seized on a bit so wack it with the hammer until it breaks the rust and slides off.

Now that the rotor is off this might be a good time to adjust the brake shoes used by your parking brake … did you know that you had brake shoes?  I’m not sure it’s necessary but used some anti-seize compound on the face of the hub.

From your rotor move over the rubber nub that I’ve pictured here.  Take your new rotors and slide them over the lug bolts and onto the hub like so.  Looks good huh?  These are Raybestos rotors about $50 a piece.

Now you’ll have to reinstall the caliper the reverse of the removal.  Use anti-seize compound on the torque member bolts and brake slider grease on the slider.  I should note that on mine the rubber gasket on the end of my slider bolt is stuck at the back of the caliper.  That’s not good and I should somehow remove it but I haven’t figured a way to do so as yet.  I suppose I need one of those dentist pick kind of tools to extract it.  The good thing is that it’s oriented properly and should squeeze on okay.

Reinstall your pads as removed.  If they’re well worn you’ll want to replace them.  Mine are Hawk HPS and I’m not a huge fan but they do for street driving.

Once you’re done it should look like this.  Put your wheel on and pat yourself on the back again that you saved a bunch (a bit) of cash paying a mechanic.

The “wrong fitment crew” got together last Thursday night in a parkade in LA. the lighting was terrible but the cars were awesome and the fitment was killer.

The wrx in the first pick in by far my favorite of the bunch… but also the acura TL’s are really growing on me… even tho they are wrong wheel drive (for a car that size).

Shane G is all about service for the Z, G and beyond communities – offering fender rolling to avid SoCal enthusiasts so they can run some crazy, low offsets during their 365 day-long summers. Yup, I’m a little jealous. Anyway, the pictures went down on his thread on WFC, but if you want to see proof of his work and style, you won’t have to look that hard.

Shane G himself owns a 2006 G35 coupe that is no stranger to the mod game. In fact, his old look was still pretty aggressive – sitting on some Function & Form Type II coilovers, an SPC rear camber kit and a fresh set of squared BBS RS-813s in 18×9.5 (-6 front/-11 rear). To keep this setup in fast company, he adorned the rest of the car with a Fast Intentions exhaust/HFCs, Stillen CAI and a Motordybe 5/16 spacer. Not. Bad. His wheel setup was soon tossed aside to make way for some wicked 3-piece forged Kranson Klassics in 20×10 ET-8 and 20×11.5 ET0. But Shane also had another plan with his car aside from stepping up from 18s. Enter bags.

Although his old setup was sick, this new look is STRAIGHT NASTY! Aside from the carbon fiber accents in the interior, I think this is easily one of the best G35s I have ever seen. Here’s the rest of his mod list just in case you’re interested in adding a little flavor to your G/Z:

2nd G sedan. fap fap!

so after a long week in vegas, i got back only to help anis with the bippu. i had to take him to JC to pick it up after some minor touch ups, i had to drive the bippu home cause i wasnt willing / wanting/ trying to drive the rati home. but we did get a chance to race a little from a punch. we raced on low boost, either way, he was gonna win since they were both his cars. im pretty much rambling, but on low boost the rati took it (but i must say, once the turbo spooled on the bippu it was a pretty interesting race). well anyways, i offered to help him get his 2 cars to the show the next day, so another day of driving the bippu. we met up with Jun and GATO from DFW (cool ass cats btw) and on to the show we went. it was a hot ass day and i only got a few pics. sorry to dissapoint if anyone was looking for coverage. but its what i have of the RE fam and my boy DA Rooki3 (which also happens to be for sale if anyone is interested). anyways on to the pics.
