If you’ve gotten past that title and are still reading this blog, I’m guessing you suspect your roof

If you’ve gotten past that title and are still reading this blog, I’m guessing you suspect your roof is leaking and you want to know what to do about it. Well, congratulations! You’ve come to the right place—Artech Roofing. You don’t have to live with a leak that can cause mold and mildew infestations or damage to drywall or structural elements of your house. A leaky roof is a common problem that can be caused by a number of things, many of which can be fixed without replacing your entire roof. That’s music to your ears, right? Let’s begin.

So, you’ve seen those pesky little drops of water dripping from your ceiling. Or maybe it’s not that obvious. Maybe you’ve seen the aforementioned mold and mildew around your house or even your roof, or maybe you’ve noticed some roof shingles were blown off during the last storm. Whatever the sign, noticing you have a problem is the first step to finding the solution. Here are the top three problems we, at Artech, see when we visit homes.

The number one problem causing roof leaks is damaged flashing around the chimney, skylight and areas where the roof line meets a wall. There are many reasons flashing becomes damaged, but often when houses are built with one large continuous piece of flashing, certain areas need to be sealed with caulking. After five or six years, many inexpensive types of caulking deteriorate. The best way to install flashing in the beginning or repair it if needed is to install steep flashing (small pieces of flashing installed underneath each shingle).

Another reason roofs leak is due to condensation from insufficient attic ventilation. Here in Georgia, we are particularly susceptible to this because of our extremely hot summers. Excessive heat allows moisture to build up and promotes deterioration of various roofing elements. This problem can also be fixed by upgrading the current ventilation systems if there is one and replacing the roof parts that are damaged. You’ll need an experienced and knowledgeable roofer, like Artech Roofing, to do this.

Lastly, the deterioration or incorrect installation of piping boots cause roof leaks. A what boot you might ask? Piping boots and roof flashing create a seal around perforations in the roof. When the boot or rubber seal around it cracks or becomes damaged, water seeps into the roof. This also can be repaired by replacing and properly installing the damaged piece.

Now this, of course, does not cover all possible leak sources. Something as simple as a clogged gutter can cause a leak, so be sure to regularly inspect gutters, skylights and other parts of the roof you can see. Call or email us to inspect the portions of the roof you can’t see from the ground. We can also give you detailed information on the most effective way to fix any roofing problem you may have. We want to make sure your roof continues to work well and lasts a long, long time.

If it’s time for you to have some work done on your roof, you’ll want to make sure you hire the righ

If it’s time for you to have some work done on your roof, you’ll want to make sure you hire the right company for the job. That can be no easy feat, since there are many roofers around Georgia advertising their services. The trick is knowing what makes a good roofer and then choosing one that will meet or exceed your expectations. Here are the top five qualifications we at Artech Roofing would make certain a roofer brings to the table.

A clear explanation of the problem and the solution. Let’s be honest. Most people don’t spend a lot of time on their roofs, and they shouldn’t. It’s dangerous. At Artech, we believe it’s our job to do the inspecting and evaluating of the problem, and explain them both to you in an easy to understand manner. That includes showing you photos of what’s up there and educating you on your option or options for fixing it.

Credentials to write home about. While being licensed and insured is an absolute necessity, it’s only the beginning. A quality roofer will offer a full warranty on all workmanship and materials and can prove a successful track record with references. At Artech, we have been chosen by GAF-ELK, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, as a certified contractor. Recognitions like this are further evidence of roofing expertise.

Quality materials. Top-notch installation can be sabotaged by faulty materials. After all, what good is a shingle if it pops a hole a year after it’s nailed in? It’s close to worthless. Each material plays an important role in your entire roofing system. Is your roofing contractor using fiber glass reinforced underlayment? Be sure to ask about the quality of the products being used.

Delivering what’s promised. You don’t want someone who offers a lot of lip service, but can’t or won’t pull off what they say they can do. A roofer that knows his or her stuff will demonstrate it in the beginning with the estimate and explanation and will show you examples of past roofing jobs completed. The job site should be professionally-staged and cleaned up at the end of the day. Artech takes it a step further and goes over all of our work when we’re finished to make sure you’re happy BEFORE we leave.

Last, but certainly not least, fair prices. At Artech, we charge enough to do a high quality job using good materials and make a profit. First and foremost, we want you to be happy with the work we’ve done—happy enough to refer us to your friends. We know we have a better shot at that if you don’t feel like you’ve been overcharged. A good roofer will do a great job at a competitive price.

So there you have it! It’s not rocket science, it’s roofing science. A little bit of homework and education can go a long way to ensuring you end up with a roof replacement or repair you can live with—literally!

KUR’AN ALLAH KELAMI MI? Bildiğiniz gibi İslam’a göre Kur’an, İncil, Tevrat ve Zebur Allah tara

KUR’AN ALLAH KELAMI MI?

Bildiğiniz gibi İslam’a göre Kur’an, İncil, Tevrat ve Zebur Allah tarafından gönderilmiştir. Bunlardan Kur’an dışındaki kitapların yazımı, geçmiş zaman anlatımı şeklindedir. Kur’an ise Allah’ın hitabı biçiminde yazılmıştır. Allah’ın sözlerinin, emir ve öğütlerinin Cebrail adlı melek vasıtasıyla ve vahiy yoluyla peygambere iletildiğine inanılır. O yüzden “Kur’an Allah kelamıdır” denir.

Fatiha suresi Allah’a yapılan bir duadır.

Görüldüğü gibi ayette Allah’a sesleniş, Allah’a yakarış vardır.

Tevbe-30. Yahudiler, “Uzeyir Allah’ın oğlu” dediler, Hıristiyanlar da “Mesih Allah’ın oğlu”, dediler. Bu onların kendi ağızlarıyla uydurdukları sözlerdir. Daha önce inkara sapmış olanların sözlerine benzetiyorlar. Allah onları kahretsin, nasıl da saptırıyorlar!

Bu ayette geçen “kâtelehumullâh” ın asıl anlamı “Allah onları öldürsün, katletsin” dir. Bunu Allah’tan isteyenin Allah olamayacağı açıktır.

Bu örneklerden şu sonuçlar çıkarılabilir:

1- Kur’an, Tanrı sözü değildir. Hz.

2- Kur’an, derlenip toplanırken hata yapılmış, bazı ayetler eksik yazılmıştır.

3- Kur’an’a Hz.

Muhammed’in kurgusu olduğu ortaya çıkar.

Bu gaflara karşı, verilen yanıtlardan biri “Kur’an’da kimi ayetlerin Cebrail’in sözü olduğu” hatta “Kur’an’ın Allah’ın, Cebrail’in ve peygamberin ortak ürünü” olduğudur. Bakara-97 ayeti bu iddiaları çürütür. Ayetten Cebrail’in, Kur’an’ı peygamberin kalbine indirdiğini, dolayısıyla 23 sene boyunca zırt pırt 50.000 yıllık yolu katetmediğini, olaylara-durumlara göre sırası geldiğinde peygamberin ayetleri kalbinden (beyninden) ortaya döktüğünü anlıyoruz.

Muhammed hazretleri, Tevrat ve İncil’in 3.

Örneğin Zuhruf-11‘te;

Muhammed hazretleri, Kur’an’ı “Allah kelamıdır” diye yazmıştır.
Süleyman Ateş’in bu konuda görüşü “Kur’an Allah vahyi, melek sözüdür” şeklindedir.

Sebebi, ayette Hz.

Did you know that hail damage in all its forms costs us almost $1 billion in the United States every

Did you know that hail damage in all its forms costs us almost $1 billion in the United States every year? I’m not making that huge number up–it’s according to the National Severe Storm Laboratory. In certain areas of Atlanta, we’ve been hammered lately by those little balls of ice, and it has been wreaking havoc on our homes and lives. If you’re one of the hundreds of people who suspect hail may have done a number on your roof, this information may help you.

Hail damage may not be noticeable from the ground. Even small amounts of hail can harm the surface of the roof, either by making a small dent in it, or by causing deterioration later. A waterfall in your living room, broken windows or skylights and piles of loose granules around the gutters can be tell-tale signs of hail damage, but know that dents in the shingles are much less conspicuous and require getting on the roof to inspect. Those dents can cause serious underlying damage over time.

That brings us to the next step. If you inspect the roof yourself, first and foremost, don’t slip and fall! Watch for dents that are half-moon or round-shaped, vary in size and appear in random patterns. Better yet, give Artech Roofing, the roofing professionals, a call to help you. We know the ins and outs of hail damage. We’ll inspect your roof free of charge and either physically point out the damage on the roof or show you photos if you’d rather not get up there.

If your hail “test” is positive, you’ll no doubt want to file a claim with your insurance. And, since everyone wants to do that nowadays, it’s not uncommon to be denied the first time. However, a good roofer can also play a large role in making this process successful. The initial inspection should be able to determine if your roof damage meets the criteria for an insurance claim. Your roofer should then meet with you and the insurance adjuster to ensure your roof is fairly evaluated and reported. The good news is that hail damage is considered the result of a natural disaster, so it won’t count against you in raising your homeowners’ insurance rates.

No two houses experience the same amount of damage from a hailstorm. Your neighbor may have none, while you turn out to be the lucky one who needs to get the repair or replacement ball rolling. If the latter is the case, make sure you get more than just a new roof. Get the help you need from an experienced roofer who knows how to recognize hail damage, will provide high quality repair or replacement services and can educate you on roofing and how to navigate the insurance process. Have the job done right the first time!

Hey All, I came across a website a while back, about 2 months ago called GetAFreelancer.com that can

Hey All,

I came across a website a while back, about 2 months ago called GetAFreelancer.com that can be of use in the business world, and people who do not have jobs but have skills to offer for money. Basically what GAF is a website dedicated to getting freelancers jobs that people want done for cheap and for companies that need work done but can’t pay top dollar. I must really commend GAF for having such a high amount of freelancers working for huge companies that are outsourcing.

This can be very good for two reasons I believe, especially in this recession when having a job isn’t always going to be the case and you have skills that are worth money, to check into becoming a freelancer. The other reason, is that companies that are downsizing but need work done, they can check into this and might come across someone that can replace the downsized.

The Website And It’s Perks

GAF is fantastic for a few reasons I think. Not only does it give unemployed people with skills to be freelance workers that can make anywhere from $200 – $2000 a project, it gives small companies that want to outsource a great resource for getting them.

Its a fantastic site since it helps both companies and employee’s, and best of all – it’s free!

The only downfall (if you want to think of it that way) is that in order for your project (if your an employer) to get to the bid market faster, you have to pay a one time fee. For business’s that need programmers and technical writers, this is a very small price to pay, but it is worth it.

GAF offers other paid options that can make your project on the top list of their bid market and some other nice addons if you pay. Like mentioned above, it’s a small price to pay.

Another cool thing is the way you can post a project. They have over 50+ categories on jobs, ranging from PHP programmer, advertisments, printing, project management, SEO, wordpress, cisco, photoshop and tons more.

When you post a job, you will have to select about 5 categories that fit your project, and freelancers will bid on them. Another good feature they have is that the freelancers can have a personal profile of what they are good at.

GAF offers two things, the employer, and the employee (freelancer).

The Employer

The employer is the person who is hiring for a project. A project can be anything and everything, from designing a website to coding a program to writing articles, GAF offers employers to post a project on just about anything. This can be very helpful in a recession especially since most small business’s need employees but do not always have the finance to support a $40,000 a year employee.

Employers can post a project, about pretty much anything and they can set the amount that they will pay for the project. Now keep in mind, you will want to obviously pay a decent amount for a really huge job.

Once the job reaches the bid market, freelancers will get a chance to bid on the projects, much like an ebay type deal where freelancers will bid for it by posting the amount they want to do the project for. This is probably the siomplest and easiest system to use for people, since if you get a freelancer, it’s possible to hire him for full time or build a good relationship with the freelancer and have him do more jobs for you in the future.

Employers will have to deposit the money once the project is complete and once it’s finished, they will submit the work, and you will pay for it.

Now keep in mind, not all projects are good at first, so it’s always good to see the project before hand. I also highly suggest having a freelancer that has atleast 3 reviews, that shows they are serious and will do the job. If you find one that is cheaper with no reviews, that can be good as well, but he may also just give up on the project wasting time for you – and money.

Once the project is done, you will review the freelancer and give them a rating 1 – 10 and a written review. So if your freelancer was horrible and submitted terrible work, you can review them and make sure it doesnt happen to someone else. Freelancers fight and work hard for good reviews, so depending on the freelancer, be fair!

Another tip I will give to employers, is to keep up with the freelancer either by phone or by email or through the GAF website. If you want quality work, make sure he’s doing exactly what you want.

I suggest any company, whatever the size it is, look into GAF, it’s a very well supported website with very good technical support, not to mention the freelancers.

The Freelancers

The freelancer or employee depending on what you hire, is a person from all over the world, that has a skill that can help small business’s or for personal use, do a project.

The freelancers come from a wide variety of backgrounds both people and skills. Some are from India that are programmers in 7 languages, some are from the UK who write articles for magazines and blogs, and some are from the US that can design websites.

The best part of being a freelancer (especially in this economy) is that it can be a small business for a person. Freelancers can bid on projects they see fit and complete them in a time frame they think possible. Best part about this is that they can take on one project or multiple projects, although taking on to many will swamp your scheduale, so be careful!

Being a freelancer is a nice gig, you set your own pace for getting a job done and you do not answer to no one (except the person who hired you). It also leaves room for people to have income if they are unemployed and have a skill set they can deliver to people. It’s the best online business without the website and steady flow of customers, anyone could ask for. Only thing you really have to work hard for is the reviews, becuase that is your resume, so a freelancer with reviews worked hard for them.

Freelancers get reviewed by their employers, so that gives the freelancer the motivation to do a good job the first time. Reviews can affect the freelancer by driving away potential employers who need a project done and that is your money going away. I have personally had two jobs posted, and had the same freelancer do the jobs becuase I trusted his work and gave him two fantastic reviews. That will not only help him in the future, but he keep some income coming in, which is always nice to have

Some tips I have recieved from freelancers is that they are careful with employers. Some employers will tend to rip off their employee freelancers which will make all your work go out the window, and damage your income. It’s best to submit parts of work instead of huge chunks that the employer can piece together.

Another thing for freelancers, if you have a skill set that is valuable and it’s getting you no where in this economy, turn it into a full time business and if you have the funds, hire other freelancers to help you, or even people you know.

I have heard about business’s in Pakistan and Canada where the business is being a freelancer. A company of 5 – 10 people that can deliver valued services over the internet. You may even want to hire a full time freelancer depending on the work they offer.

Outsourcing With GAF

Since GAF is a freelancer website, you can expect to find a multitude of people with different skills that can do a job a regular full time employee could do.

Companies that are downsizing are actually hurting their business by doing this. They are increasing the workload on employee’s which causes employee’s to be overwhelmed and stressed out. After being overwhelmed and stressed out, the employee will start delivering less than quality work.

It also works if your expanding your company and need certain work done. You could hire the kid fresh out of college and pay him a $40K a year, or hire a freelancer. Of course you dont want to fire your all your employee’s, but if it’s nessecary, than GAF is just another resource. If your expanding your business and need projects done, I suggest you look into GAF, post a project and see what you get.

Final Thoughts

So you know about where the freelancer is coming from and how to be a fair employer. If your small business is either exmpanding or outsourcing, GAF is an excellent website for freelancers who can deliver quality work. The website itself makes it easy for you to hire someone, get a project done, and pay them.

In this screwed up economy where business’s are losing money becuase they lack the employee’s to do the work, it wouldnt be a bad idea to check it out.

I have used GAF twice, and I was pleased by my freelancer and had nothing but good things to say about him when it was time to review him.

Try it out, and goodluck!

If you’re like many people, replacing the roof on your home is not a job you take lightly. And you shouldn’t. An improperly constructed roof can cause damage to other parts of the house that can be expensive to fix and be a real inconvenience to you. I like to stay in a hotel because I’m on vacation, not because my roof was improperly installed or the ventilation is not balanced and is emitting carbon dioxide fumes!

At Artech Roofing, we don’t take replacing your roof lightly, either. We realize the investment it can require, and ensure customers get the highest quality roof, installed properly, at a fair price.

I can confidently say we stand behind every job we do. Why? Because we are a locally-owned business in North Fulton County, Ga., and I want my fellow neighbors to experience the same level of service and quality I’d expect from a contractor. (And, if I run into you at Wal-Mart, I’d like you to tell everyone around what a great job we do!)

From using only the highest quality materials to employing the most experienced and knowledgeable team, Artech Roofing delivers the results promised. Our customers are given my direct phone number so believe me; I want the job done right the first time. I’d rather not get a 3:00 a.m. complaint call—and neither would my wife and two children!

So what happens the first time we visit your home? We get on the ladder and evaluate the roof, the chimney and the flashing. We’ll show you pictures we take of your roof, explain what we find and give you a clear concise proposal. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about roofing. We’ll be happy to educate you on the ins and outs of both the materials and processes required to fix or replace your roof. After all, when was the last time you were up there? It’s all part of our commitment to building relationships with our customers. And that means employees at all levels of the company—from the owner to the installers—remain engaged throughout the entire job.

You might expect quality and service like this to cost a fortune, but it doesn’t have to. We’re a financially solvent company, even in these tougher economic times, and don’t ask for any down payment at the beginning of construction. In addition, our customers can save up to 10 percent off the cost of a roof compared to other roofers because we don’t employ a sales staff—we ENJOY working with customers directly!
So the bottom line is this: Choose a roofer that offers a good value at a fair price—and cleans up before leaving at the end of the day! Your house depends on it.

To reach us, go to our website at www.artech roofing.com or give us a call at 404-543-9263.

One of the most frequent statements I hear (after we agree on the type of shingles and the color of

One of the most frequent statements I hear (after we agree on the type of shingles and the color of your new roof) is “I do not need additional ventilation in my attic so you can take away that line item of cost”. When I first started in the business, I would remove the line item thinking that the person I was speaking with understood how important ventilation is to their home and new roof. It was not until I started asking people questions that I realized most did not understand the importance of proper ventilation.

How important is ventilation you ask? Well let me ask you this… If you light a fire in your chimney and close the flue, what happens to the inside of your home or better yet, if you stop breathing, what happens to you? Well, your home is no different. It needs to “breath” as well or all kinds of bad things can happen.

What type of things you ask? The number one thing we see in attics is moisture. Where there is moisture, you will find mildew, mold and rot. If you have a vaulted ceiling this problem can be compounded because air cannot move up the ceiling and out of the vents due to the insulation blocking it. If the insulation blocks the airflow, any moisture in the air is trapped in your insulation or in the wood in your attic. The next time you are in your attic, look at the wood. Is it discolored or does it have black oblong circles on it? If so, this is a tell tale sign that you have wood rot.

Now you took something as easy as getting a new roof and compounded the problem because the whole infrastructure of your roof has to be torn down and re built. This I can assure is no small feat. Oh yeah and did I mention costly? Extremely costly!

One of the things we pride ourselves in is our desire to provide the best solution at the best price, bringing our customers the best value proposition. Our solutions typically may look more expensive at first glance; however, after the homeowner understands our solution, they understand we provide the best value. For instance, if you, the homeowner decides to install a brand new roof and do not address a problem like ventilation, then four or five years down the road, you will be looking at again replacing the roof. This is not a manufacture or installation default, but a problem that was not addressed and fixed when it needed to be.

Be careful of jumping over dollars to save pennies. Make sure you spend time asking questions. At Artech, we pride ourselves in educating our customers. An informed homeowner is our best client. We want to help you make the best strategic decision for your home. For most of us, it is the single largest investment we make in homeownership and upkeep.

If you are thinking about a new roof and would like to have a conversation with us, please give us a call or visit our website at www.artechroofing.com. I look forward to helping you.
