Lady GaGa esteve nesta quinta-feira (26) no programa mais legal da TV americana, o “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, que aqui no Brasil é transmitido pela Warner Channel.

GaGa apresentou sua nova música de trabalho intitulada Speechless, dando um verdadeiro show no piano, tanto de interpretação quanto vocal (uau). Ela também perfomou a já conhecida Bad Romance, sim aquela  que o video clipe nos deixou embasbacados com tamanha criatividade e grandeza.

GaGa ainda promete que isso é apenas o começo e que a sua nova turnê  “The Monster Ball Tour” será algo jamais visto em todo planeta.

yesterday we celebrated with a yummy (but slightly expensive) buffet at straits cafe @ rendezvous hotel! had fun chitchatting and eating with tony, shoban, guang, ham, edsee, pam! gosh it was hilarious. first of all tony and his alfalfa, basically it’s this moss like thing that tasted like grass. pam was throwing him eye-rolls and grimaces when he was eating it like some bovine organism. and the disgusting durian creme and puff. oh god if i ever have the pleasure of eating (forced, tricked, accidentally or otherwise) anything with durian in it i swear i will use one whole bottle of listerine in one sitting. then we watched a movie called gomorrah at cathay picturehouse (it was between that and christmas carol 3D, but since pam’s 18 we chose the former m18 movie LOL). it apparently won the top prize at the cannes film festival (plus certified 91% fresh via pam’s rottentomatoes), but it turned out… as i quote the birthday girl “this movie was such a milestone for me” well. i still prefer the heavily-stylized 40s american mafia movie a la the godfather. gomorrah was too hyper-real imo. :/ anyway have fun in malacca girl!

anyway i’ve finally gotten down to listening to the fame monster. gaga is a genius. perhaps i should consider turning from a free-thinker to joining a pagan occult that worships her, LOL. i’m joking, i’m joking, don’t stone me. anyway alejandro is my favourite on the album!! best thing is, it samples czardas (the very hungarian gypsy tune we learned for guitar) at the start. and i love the intro of dance in the dark too!!

hmm i got john mayer’s new album battle studies. spent the whole morning in bed listening to it. i gotta say it’s my favourite album by him yet. the whole thing feels so raw, unpretentious, and intimate. especially love friends, lovers or nothing and the title track, heartbreak warfare. and i shall leave you with the former! the lyrics are really meaningful imo (i’m sure many of us will have felt like this at some point in time or another). the perfect album for single, lonely souls out there, heh:

anything other than yes is no,
anything other than stay is go,
anything less than i love you is lying

Well as I have said before Lady Gaga scares me a little bit.  But, I takes courage to go out and wear what you want to wear.  This is about the music not the physical appearance.  ”The Fame Monster” is not really a new album it is more of an extension of last years release “The Fame.”  The latest installment is like Gaga’s previous work which is very pop and dance club related music.  It is  definitely more upbeat music for seven of the eight tracks.  But I do tend to have a soft spot for artists that include a string section in songs.  The song out of the seven that does include this is “Speechless.”  For some of you who watched the AMA’s, this song was the ending song in her performance.

So it really depends on who you are.  If you really like the dance club music you should buy all eight tracks.  But if you don’t really like the dance music then just get the “Speechless” track.   If you get the deluxe edition of this album “The Fame” album is the rest of the tracks on “The Fame Monster.”

Ok, so we need to talk about Lady GaGa’s “The Fame Monster.”

Can I first say that “The Fame” brought me back into the world of pop music in a way I didn’t think would ever happen. She had me dancing in my undies in front of the mirror and screaming songs with my bff in the car, cranked at top volume, windows all the way down. There hasn’t been anyone more worthy, in my eyes, of a “pop royalty” title since Madonna (seriously, fuck Britney Spears. She has NO talent. The only good record she EVER put out was when she was bat shit crazy, and even then, it was all smoke and mirrors with producers and songwriters). I think the reason GaGa appeals to ME, personally, is because she brings back the theater element of pop that Queen and David Bowie introduced in the 70’s and Madonna kinda, sorta, not really brought a little flavor of in the 80’s. GaGa, however, goes all in with the theatrics. She IS Lady GaGa, 24/7, and that is why she is fascinating. On top of that, I really do believe she is in it all for the art. I’m a pretty good judge of a person being facetious when it comes to being artsy fartsy, but I think she’s the real deal. It’s everything about her that screams art; her hair, her makeup, her, ahem, wardobe, her stage show, and, last but not least, her music.

Not straying too far from the Queen topic, I wanted to note that both “Brown Eyes” from “The Fame” and now “Speechless” from “Monster” sound like exact replica’s of songs I think Freddie and the gang would put out back in their heyday. Just swap GaGa for Mercury and you’ve got a Queen song. It’s brilliant for a big Queen fan such as myself.

SO! On to the “Monster”. On the whole, I’ve got to say, I am very, very happy with this album of new material. It’s traditional GaGa, while still being really fresh and new. She goes darker, which I’m loving, because we all know life is not all “Beautiful Dirty Rich” and “Money Honey.” The songs that are really standing out to me are the title track the aforementioned track “Speechless.” Monster is a synth-driven dance tune that starts off with the proclamation, “He ate my heart, he a-a-ate my heart,” but it quickly turns into a song most girls and gay guys can relate to. It’s a song about a woman-eater, no pun intended. Its about the typical player you find at the club that is so fucking hot but you know he’s just gonna fuck and run. I’ve never been in this situation, but I know loads of girls who have, and just from their stories, I definitely can relate >_<.

And now, for something completely different.

I have become OBSESSED with Point and Click games. The reason being because while Stumbling the other day, I came across a strange game that you might have heard of. Does this look familiar?

I have quickly become completely obsessed with Samorost. If you HAVEN’T heard of it yet, I suggest you click HERE (or on the picture) and start playing the first one immediately. It is addicting. Granted, if you don’t really explore the screen well, it can be kind of challenging, but there are loads of walkthroughs, such as THIS and THIS to help you out if you get stuck (but don’t cheat, dude. that isn’t cool). Anyway, I could explain the story, but it would be far to difficult, so I’m just going to assume all of you are making the right decision and playing the fucking game already!! SERIOUSLY! I am such a fan, I actually payed $5 for the full version of Samorost 2. There are also some other great Samorost-esque games that I could talk about, but I will save it for another time. I have gone on long enough.

So today is Black Friday otherwise known as the day when everyone shows their evil, animalistic ways. I was talked into going to experience this phenomenon for myself. Me and Alex and Ana stayed up all night long watching movies and it was fun. So by 4 in the morning we are in SooFoo at the mall and it wasn’t too bad. I mean..tons of people but no one was overly evil. There were tons of teenagers who thought they were gangsters or general misfits, really young girls with their parents who were trying to dress like they were 20, aggressive house wives that rushed past you with a grim set to their face, and quite a few stylishly dressed gay men who were quite friendly and I love them.

After the mall we went to walmart. Whoa. What is wrong with people? The line to check out honestly and with no exaggeration in the least spanned the entire store. The whole frong aisle was just a mass of people waiting to check out. It was horrible. You could barely get past the barrier to get to the rest of the store. People at walmart sucked. They were pushy and mean and I wanted to punch them all in the face. Ok, only two of them. And one woman who was buying awesome videogames I wanted her to adopt me. Pending negotiations. Some bloodshot eyed mexican cut in line and I wanted to kick him in the junk but I realized by being aggressive I was becoming them. So I just let it go. Worse things could happen. In Sioux Falls, for example, there was a bout of fisticuffs in the checkout of Kohl’s and a deranged woman was shoving people out of her way and literally yelling at people at Target to get to the front of the check out. Security was called, she responded that there were no rules on Black Friday. Quite the day. There is something fun about it, though. I dont know what..but it has a certain allure.

So I hung out with my dog today. I’ve been doing more with her because she rocks and my love for her keeps growing. I get down on the ground and wrestle with her. I took her with me to watch the meteor shower. Today she went with me to Trosky and we rocked out to Gaga (or as some say Godga which is sacrilege and is frowned upon in most religious societies). We shared some delicious caramel corn and we still had a plateful when I went to the bank and I assumed she would eat it because..it’s good and she’s a dog. But she didn’t. I said ‘Dont eat that, Tabitha. I mean it.’ and she didn’t touch it. I come out and she’s just sitting in the driver’s seat cocking her head at me. I love that beast.

Batsheva Dance Company’s studios at the Suzanne Dellal Centre

Last Friday morning, I returned to Tel Aviv’s Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre to take my second Gaga class.  After reawakening my body in Thursday evening’s class and getting a good night of sleep, I was eager for more Gaga.  About thirty other people and I entered the top floor of Batsheva’s studios for our class with Yaara, a former dancer with Batsheva Dance Company who started her own company last year.  The spacious studio was flooded with morning sunlight and had a fantastic view of the sea.

Yaara’s verbal instructions provided plenty of imagery that was useful for increasing awareness of the body’s dimensionality, dynamics, and movement in space.  Her prompts included the following, many of which felt like continuations of the instructions from Thursday’s class: float; taste something good in your mouth; make circles with different parts of your body; imagine two snakes in your body – one running along the spine and the other through your arms; increase the gravity around you, as if you are moving through rubber; take a cold shower.  Yaara also emphasized the importance of taking risks.  While balancing on one foot, we were instructed to shift our weight in a variety of ways, knowing that it was okay to fall off balance.

Music throughout the class included techno and reggae, and during the final minutes of the class, when the momentum reached a high and then slowly descended, it was liberating to “move like liquid” to MIA’s “Paper Planes”.  In Gaga, I realized that I was moving in a way that was entirely different – more honest and open, more connected to sensations – from how I would move if I were told to improvise in a non-Gaga environment.  This is due, in part, to the mirror-free requirement for Gaga.  When Wendy Perron interviewed Ohad Naharin – the creator of Gaga and artistic director of Batsheva – in the October 2006 issue of Dance Magazine, he said, “Abolish mirrors; break your mirrors in all studios. They spoil the soul and prevent you from getting in touch with the elements and multidimensional movements and abstract thinking, and knowing where you are at all times without looking at yourself. Dance is about sensations, not about an image of yourself”.  It sounds right in print, but feels even more accurate while experiencing Gaga.

I have never been the biggest fan of Lady Gaga or Beyonce (although I was a huge Destiny’s Child fan), until recent months where they have both putting out outstanding, play-on-repeat releases like Sweet Dreams and Paparazzi. So when I saw that they had done a collaboration on “Video Phone”, I was skeptical, but hopeful. I have to say, it may be demeaning to women, and not a reflection of their true talent, but damn this song is fun to listen to, and the video is a mouthful! You watch it saying, this is just too much. But, thats what entertainment is all about!

With Hype Williams as the director, how could it not be a creative escape. From the Gaultier Bodysuits with capes, to the male dancers with cameras for heads, Beyonce and Gaga put on quite a 3 minute show!

Lady Gaga rewarded her patient fans by throwing them a spontaneous pizza party.

The Paparazzi star was doing an autograph session in Hollywood, where she was signing copies of her new album The Fame Monster, when she noticed the huge crowds of people waiting in the queue – so she treated them to 1,000 dollars (£605) worth of pizzas from a local pizza parlour for them to snack on, reports People.com.

The 23-year-old – who will be performing in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance on December 7 – then Tweeted: “Sending all my little monsters little pizzas for waiting all night for me at Best Buy… I hope you’re hungry – eat up I love u!”

Lady Gaga had a CD signing last night at a Best Buy in Los Angeles, California. The pop star was scheduled to sign only 400 copies of her sophomore album “The Fame Monster,” but upon arriving at Best Buy she announced that she would sign everyone’s copy of her album. Gaga signed over 5,000 copies of her album and left about 2 hours after she was schedules to leave. Gaga says she loves her “little monsters” (fans) so much that she even purchased $1,000 worth of pizza at a local Papa John’s.
