Noh esiteks oli tarvis käsitöölistele näitust korraldada (siin on raadiouudis kah). Ja siis oli vaja pikali voodis olla ja mõelda, et kuradi sead on mind haigeks teinud. Ja siis oli vaja kõike muud teha, et mitte ridagi interneti sisse kirja panna.

Tegelikult mõtlesin ma ühel hommikul 1961. aasta rahareformi peale, et kuidas Gagarini-poiss mööda orbiiti tiirles ja igavusest piiks-piiks-piiks tegi ja kuidas talle siis äkitselt meelde tuli, et rahareform on käimas ja mismoodi ta koukis taskust kortsus viieka, millel lenduri pilt peal ja kuidas ta hetkeks lubas omal valitsuse- ja parteikriitilise mõttekatke peast läbi käia. Gagarin ohkas, pani raha tasku tagasi ja maha rahunenuna mõtles, et vähemasti jääb midagi lastelastele mälestuseks – orbiidil lennanud viiekas. Ja piiksus edasi.

Οι ULVER καταφτάνουν αυτό το Σάββατο, 14 Νοεμβρίου για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα, στο Gagarin 205.

Ο frontman των Ulver, Christopher Rygg (aka Garm), με την εκπληκτική φωνή είτε ως υψίφωνος είτε ως βαρύτονος, έρχεται στην Ελλάδα μαζί με τα δύο μόνιμα μέλη του group, Tore Ylwizaker και Jørn H. Sværen, αλλά και με τέσσερις ακόμα guest musicians, μεταξύ των οποίων o Lars Pettersen, mainman του experimental group WHEN καθώς και o DJ, Ole Aleksander Halstensgård, μέλος των Paperboys, για ένα live DJing performance, πάνω στους ήχους των Ulver!

Οι Νορβηγοί Ulver, αποτελούν ένα ξεχωριστό κεφάλαιο στην ιστορία της μουσικής. Αν και στα πρώιμα χρόνια της καριέρας τους, ο black metal ήχος ήταν αυτός που τους χαρακτήριζε, η μουσική τους πορεία εξελίχθηκε τελείως διαφορετικά με το πέρασμα του χρόνου, τοποθετώντας τους πλέον ανάμεσα στους πιο αξιόλογους μουσικούς της πειραματικής σκηνής παγ κοσμίως. Ηλεκτρονικοί ήχοι, jazz στοιχεία, minimal ambient επιρροές, σοφιστικέ στίχοι και κυρίως μοναδικά ηχητικά τοπία: με μία λέξη Ulver.

On Saturday I participated in Jennifer Sullivan’s Fall Collection event as part of The Classroom.  The Fall Collection fashion show was a launch party for issue one of Threads magazine which Jennifer edits along with artist Jenn Brehm.  I hope to do an interview with Jennifer and Jenn about their magazine in the next few months.  Here are some photographs of the fashion show:

One of the highlights of The Fair was the Triple Canopy event in The Classroom.  This included a visit from special guest “Robert Rauschenberg,” (even though he died in the spring of 2008) at The Invisible Grammer: A Tribute to Aspen’s ” Time Silence and Reduction, and Language” issue on its 42nd Anniversary. “Rauschenberg” in conversation with Andres Laracuente told the story of his famous drawing Erased De Kooning, 1953.  The story was told beautifully.

In my final tour around PS1 I walked past familiar magazine vendors ZingMagazine, Art on Paper, mono.kultur, the journal, Frieze, Gagarin,…  At the Golden Age stand I found these two new magazines: Proximity Magazine from Chicago, IL and Evergreen from Melbourne, Australia.  I hope to get my hands on them again and give them more attention on this blog.

I also checked out FOIL and IANN, two magazines published by FOIL from Asia:

In addition to all the magazines I perused, I looked at artists books on the tables of some of my favorite independent publishers Regency Arts Press Ltd., and Art Resources Transfer (A.R.T.) Press.  I didn’t get anything from Regency Arts Press this year, but I did speak with Lauren Wittels who told me about two exciting upcoming events.  Open Book is going to be an interactive online catalogue of books made by artists and independent publishers.  The site will be launched in early 2010 and the first open-call for submissions took place on Saturday Oct. 17th X-Initiative in Chelsea.   Also coming up is the Art Book Swap at The Museum of Modern Art on Saturday Feb. 6th, 2010.

Farewell to another great Art Book Fair.

Ok, jag är den förste att förespråka utbildning och ett ökat intresse för omvärlden. Man måste naturligtvis pröva med de medel som står tillbuds.
Fast alla medel, verkligen? Jag är tveksam till om vi om femtio år får höra en nobelpristagare tacka Snoop Doggy Dog och Buzz Aldrin för att de startade deras bana som [vetenskapligt område här].
Texten är riiiktigt lökig. Och det luktar av Hem & Skola som vill “prata med ungdomar”. Det luktar Staffan Hildebrand.
Och “nej”, “G” var inte en bra film. Det var en värdelös film. Ni tycker den var bra för att det var det enda staten ville visa er. Egentligen ville ni se “Rambo”, “Monchici” eller “långt ner i halsen”.
(Långt ner i halsen – the monchici edition. Me would like that one).

Men ok, i sak har de ju rätt. Utforskningen av rymden får inte stå stilla. Men nästa gång, kan vi pröva något mer modernt? Rammstein hyllandes de omkomna i Challenger och Columbiaolyckorna och de sönderbrända astronauterna i Apollo 1-kapseln för att ge några förslag.

Som en liten avstickare, det finns en alldeles underbar myt om kosmonauter som omkommit eller försvunnit ut i världsrymden och omkommit. Allt undanhållit av politbyrån. Gagarin var inte först, men han var den förste människan i rymden som kom tillbaks levande. Antagligen inte det minsta sant, men det pirrar lite när man läser om det.

Luciana, in abito bianco, sceglie di fuggire dal conformismo che la vorrebbe, alla sua età, investita di un sacramento cattolico. Scappa lasciandosi alle spalle una schiera di attoniti spettatori. Corre svestendosi dei suoi abiti candidi. Galoppa sui prati incolti dell’immediata periferia romana allontanandosi dal ruolo che le è stato imposto di recitare. Poco dopo è barricata in bagno, seduta sul water intenta a rimuovere dal suo corpo gli ultimi resti della divisa che indossa; al di fuori della porta chiusa a chiave la mamma la implora. Le dice di uscire, che è ancora in tempo, lei, dall’interno, dice che non ci pensa proprio a tornare indietro, la madre disperata abbozza un ragionevole “perché?”.

Potrebbe sembrare uno spezzone di un qualunque film già visto se non fosse che Luciana ha otto anni, che il sacramento è quello della prima comunione e che la bambina fiera, sicura e orgogliosa tuona: “Perché sono comunista!”

Inizia così “Il cosmonauta” film dell’esordiente Susanna Nicchiarelli. E’ la sotria di Luciana chiamata a crescere in un’Italia a cavallo tra gli anni ‘50 e ‘60. La politica è in fermento da una parte abbiamo “gli amici degli americani” dall’altra “i compagni dei russi”, in mezzo i socialisti “traditori” (dei “compagni dei russi”).
E’ un periodo in cui il la guerra fredda è agli albori e non ci sono basi concrete che facciano presagire la sconfitta, negli anni a venire, del comunismo. Laika, Gagarin e Tereshkova appiono nel film in spezzoni di reali reperti cinematografici dell’epoca, testimoni attendibili della forza comunista e della gara a “chi ce l’ha più lungo” in atto tra URSS e USA.

Luciana ha un fratello, Arturo, un tantino sfigatello, una madre (Pandolfi), ma non ha un padre perché lui, il fattore che seminò il seme rosso in famiglia morì senza poter usare la falce per raccogliere i frutti del suo seme ed il martello per darselo nei marroni constatando che una buona parte di quei frutti sarebbero stati marci. Nel tempo acquisisce un patrigno (Rubini) di stampo chiaramente conservatore (quindi fascista perché tutto ciò che non è rosso è per forza nero)!

La giovane donna prende a frequentare la sezione giovanile del locale circolo comunista si sente sempre più partecipe del movimento politico, qui consolida il legame con Marisa (Nicchiarelli) figura importante del film perché svolge il ruolo della madre che Luciana avrebbe voluto avere.
Il film ci mostra una protagonista che crescendo impara cosa sia la politica e che decide, sotto l’impulso truffaldino degli ormoni adolescenziali, di dedicare la propria vita al partito: niente figli, e nessuna sottomissione a un uomo (sua madre per lei è un esempio del fenomeno). Poi, però mamma natura, le insegna quanto sia difficile resistere ai richiami delle proprie pulsioni ed eccola conoscere l’amore, quello impossibile (il capo sezione giovanile) e quello “da battaglia” (il ciccione come lo chiama il padre fascistoide) che non è amore ma che serve per far “brodo” in attesa che l’impossibile diventi possibile.

Gli ideali della protagonista, acquisiti con pressapochismo e per osmosi, come lo sono quelli che un ragazzo sedicenne può acquisire, vengono pian piano disillusi dalla vita reale. Vediamo (noi spettatori ma non Luciana la quale supponiamo ci arrivi per il contatto diretto con la realtà locale) esponenti politici che hanno paura di alzar la voce, anche solo per chiedere spiegazioni, di fronte alle forze dell’ordine (qui è Marisa l’unica ad avanzare obiezione e a stupirsi dei suoi compagni). I coordinatori adulti, quindi coloro tenuti a dare l’esempio, si mostrano pubblicamente accomodanti nonostante, magari, nella loro sfera personale si manifestino forti e rivoluzionari. Luciana cozza contro una politica che richiede conformismo e assoggettazione alle linee del partito. Luciana cresce.

Lo dico subito: il film non mi ha entusiasmato. I messaggi in esso annegati non mi sono risultati incisivi e non sono riuscito ad assaporare il romanticismo di un era ricca di speranze. Che Luciana frequentasse un circolo di partito o che frequentasse una polisportiva per fare pattinaggio non avrebbe fatto grosse differenze. E’ una storia che mostra come una ragazza messa al contatto con una realtà “di squadra” extra familiare impara a vivere, a rapportarsi e ad adeguarsi. Non mi è chiaro se la politica in questo film è stata tirata in ballo a scopo denigratorio o lusinghiero, non capisco se il messaggio è “Non ti illudere perché la politica è un mestiere come un altro” oppure “La politica è bella, ci si confronta, ci si scanna, ci si ama, si soffre e si gioisce come in una grande squadra che può cambiare il mondo”. All’apparire dei titoli di coda mi sono detto “ehmbè?” e anche dopo aver lasciato sedimentare il film (questa mia la sto scrivendo a più di una settimana dalla sua visione) non sono riuscito a leggerci granché.

Il lavoro di regia è buono, ottima la scenografia, discreti gli attori, forse l’anello debole è la sceneggiatura. Il film rimane comunque una fotografia tecnicamente ben fatta dell’Italia di quegli anni ma, rimanendo nel parallelo fotografico, conoscere cosa sia un diaframma, un tempo di esposizione e una focale non basta per dare spessore e sentimento a uno scatto.

Da una sinossi letta prima di entrare in sala mi ero illuso che nell’opera avrei trovato un messaggio possibilista, di poter usare quel messaggio per leggere i giorni nostri con un minimo di speranza verso un futuro in cui certi valori altruisti e socialisti potessero essere coltivati per ritornare a dare calore all’individuo oggi sostanzialmente solo e smarrito. Invece vedo una ragazza che alla fine ritrova la felicità nel suo microcosmo egoistico fatto di moroso, fratello e poche altre persone e che questo le basti anche se tutto intorno piano piano si dissolve.

Insomma pare che i tempi in fondo non siano poi tanto cambiati!

Bruno me ha enviado el tercer número de su fanzine Papaya, que esta vez está estructurado a la manera de los libros de Juanjo Sáez para ilustrar las reflexiones del niño seta, que son muy particulares y no exentas de razón. Tampoco faltan los típicos chistes malos, personajes populares y Nietzsche montando en un unicornio.   Frase preferida: “Oh, qué maravilloso es sentir la lluvia ácida sobre mi piel deshidratada por la toxicidad del aire”. Puedes conseguirlo por intercambio en su blog. Nota: el fanzine tiene dos portadas, aquí he reproducido sólo una de ellas.

Il ne manquent non plus les typiques mauvaises blagues, les personnages populaires et Nietzche montant sur une licorne. Phrase préférée: “Oh, c’est si merveilleux de sentir la pluie acide sur ma peau déshydratée par la toxicité de l’air”. Vous pouvez l’obtenir par échange sur son blog. De Pere Saguer lo último que me ha llegado han sido los fanzines El Lenguaje no Verbal (una colección de dibujos sin relación aparente entre sí) y A Vampire with a Very Sharp Weapon (sic) (Un Vampiro con un Arma muy Afilada). Este último cuenta una pequeña historia de un vampiro flotante asesino, y me ha gustado tanto que me he animado a dibujar mis propios vampirillos. Frase preferida: “No doubt, only simple kill”. Puedes conseguirlo por intercambio a través de su página.

La dernière chose que j’ai reçu de Pere Saguer se sont les fanzines El Lenguaje no Verbal (Le Langage non-verbal) et A Vampire with a Very Sharp Weapon (sic) (Un Vampyre avec un Arme très Tranchante). Ce dernier raconte une petite histoire sur un vampire flottant assassin, et je l’ai autant aimé, que je me suis amusé à dessiner mes propres vampirettes. Phrase préférée “No doubt, only simple kill”. Por último, acabo de recibir el famoso fanzine Gagarin de Ferrán Esteve, basado en sus experiencias personales. Se lee rápido y bien a causa de su estilo fluido, pero ello no quiere decir que la historia no sea compleja. Una visión sobre los recuerdos y los pensamientos teñida ligeramente de frustración y de ironía, que viene acompañada en esta ocasión de un cómic de Clara-Tanit, y de dos otras historias sin relación con la historia principal. Pueden conseguirlo en el blog del autor. ¡No se lo pierdan!

Finalement, je viens de recevoir le fameux fanzine Gagarin de Ferrán Esteve, basé sur ses expériences personnelles. On le lit vite et bien à cause de son style flou, mais ce ne veut pas dire que l’histoire ne soit pas complexe. Une vision des souvenirs et des pensées teinte légèrement de frustration et d’ironie, qui vient accompagnée dans cette occasion d’une bande dessinée de Clara-Tanit, et de deux autres histoires sans rapport avec l’histoire principale. Vous pouvez l’obtenir dans le blog de l’authéur. À ne pas rater!

Finally, I’ve just received the famous Gagarin zine by Ferrán Esteve, based on his personal experiences. It can be read fast and well because of the fluidity of its style, but it doesn’t mean that the story’s not complex. One vision of memories and thoughts slightly dyed by frustration and irony, that is accompanied this time by a comic strip by Clara-Tanit, and by two other stories with no relationship whatsoever with the main story. You can get it by the author’s blog. Don’t miss it!

The New York Art Book Fair hosted by Printed Matter will be taking place on the weekend of October 2-4 at PS1 Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City, Queens.  This is by far my favorite art event of the year!  The entire weekend of events is free, with the exception of the Preview and Benefit Party on Thursday October 1st, and the Contemporary Artists’ Book Conference which coincides with The Book Fair.  For more specifics take a look at the NY Art Book Fair website.

Een professionele GOGBOT jury zal de digitale Atompunk inzendingen kritisch bekijken en beoordelen op artistieke kwaliteiten, techniek en  originaliteit. Op 11 september worden de drie allerbeste Atompunk Digitale Kunstwerken bekroond. Dit zal bekend gemaakt worden  tijdens de  ATOM.LIVE.NU happening in newBERLIN (SL) /  ATAK Enschede (NL) De winnende inzendingen worden dan ook getoont op grote videobeams voor het  ‘RL’ publiek op het GOGBOT Festival!

40 Jahre und 3 Tage her, naja, ihr weisst schon, es ist seit Wochen fast nichts anderes mehr aufs Fernseh, Neil Armstrong (nicht zu verwirren mit Lance ) lauft als erster Mensch auf der Mond und sagt die worte “That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind” (da ist mehr gesagt damals, sehe hier, aber diese Satz war das wichtigste).

Ich nehme an die meisten kennen den name Joeri Aleksejevitsj Gagarin, der erster Mensch im All, ein Sovjet Erfolg, aber auf eine Art werden die “alte” Sovjet Erfolgen einfacher vergessen. Vielleicht auch weil das Sovjet Space Programm geheim war, und nur die Erfolgen nach dem Erfolg veröffentlich würden, aber trostdem….

“Being first” ist der Motor hinter jeder Wettkampf, weisst auch Lance, die Sovjets waren schon “first” bei eine menge Dinge,  der erste Mensch der geschlafen hat im All ist eine schone, oder das Erste Tier das lebend vom All zuruck kamm, die arme Laika schaffte es nicht. Ich liebe Wiki fur so etwas, guck mal hier.

Luna 2, Erster "spacecraft" das auf der Mond landete, oder in dieser fall stürzte

Na gut, ich war einige Wochen her in Berlin (ich war und bin mal öfter in Berlin, und mit guter Grund, wah meine Süsse), und habe da das Mauer-Denkmal an die Bernauerstrasse besucht.  Neben das Denkmal ist eine kleine Kapelle, eine sehr schöne Kapelle, Kapelle der Versöhnung, genau auf den Platz von die gesprengte Versöhnungskirche. Auf den Platz vor die Kapelle war ein kleines Podium gebaut, mit nur ein Stuhl und eine kleine Berg Orangen. Als Zuschauer konnte Mann auf den Stuhl platznehmen, Kopfhörer mit Tekst und Musik, und es würde ein Tanz aufgeführt. Das alles hätte etwas mit die Orangen zu tun, und es würde auch erklärt, meine Inga und Karo hörte genau zu, aber ich habe etwas verpasst und es nicht ganz verstanden. Und war zu stolz oder zu blöd es damals zu fragen. Es hat etwas zu tun mit die geschichte von Ost Berlin, eine geschichte die sonst einfach vergessen wird……  so bitte Inga, erklärs mir nochmal, so das ich es nicht vergessen kan.

Domnu’ din poză e Gagarin. Pentru cei care nu au citit “Tânara Gardă” probabil nu spune nimic.  De fapt cea mai tare chestie auzită despre Gagarin e că a fost cel mai ghinionist om din lume: a decolat din Uniunea Sovietică, a ocolit Pământul şi a aterizat tot în Uniunea Sovietică…

Okazuje się ponadto, że ci wszyscy, którzy zaczęli wracać z emigracji zarobkowej są załamani współczesną Polską, choć wydawałoby się (np. po niedawnej komicznej konferencji Tuska i Rostowskiego na temat potęgi gospodarczej kraju nad Wisłą AD 2009), że gdzie jak gdzie, ale do Irlandii 2, państwa cudu, powinni wracać drzwiami i oknami. Czy ktoś jeszcze pamięta, jak Tusk jeździł do emigrantów za kaczyzmu, nakłaniając do powrotu i zapewniając, jak to za jego rządów w Polsce będzie się opłacać pracować?

Rozeznanie c² w mechanizmach działania Internetu RP

Zazwyczaj zamalowuje sam siebie w rogu i zaambarasowany nabiera farby w usta Wpadka za wpadką aż strach podliczać. Złudna logika² polega na przechodzeniu z portalu Kukiego na portal Maryli a ostatnio na swój w oczekiwaniu następnego wewnętrznego rozłamu członków. Za kilka tygodni powstanie więc następny portalik, na którym nie wolno komentować osobom postronnym. Wszyscy rozumiemy, że pisywanie na forach Agory być może wzmacnia pozycję GW w Internecie ale mają tam przynajmniej drzewkowanie wątków i czasami wpuszczają wpisy na wyszukiwarkę grup dyskusyjnych. Dyskusja na samotnym bloggerze zazwyczaj zamiera do zera, jak u FYMa, ale ten sam wpis na SG przynosi 182 komentarze. U c² tyż zerowo o 20:00 0 komentarze . S24 rozruszał się jakoś ostatnio dzięki katarynie. A cały Witz polega na tym, że dopóki ferajna nie zacznie w cywilizowany sposób dyskutować na otwartych forach, dopóty Der Dziennik będzie w stanie ściemniać ad libitum, iż starannie pielęgnowane chamstwo na ichnich moderowanych forach dotyczy całej błogosfery. Tymczasem grupa dyskusyjna powstała wyłącznie w celach utylitarnych działa bez moderacji i bez takowych problemów:

Moderacja jest bowiem li tylko eufemistycznym określeniem cenzury. “Tolerancyjny” cenzor pozostaje cenzorem. Polską cenzorką rekordzistką jest sympatyczna niewątpliwie Irena Dziedzic. Wygląda na to, że moje słowa były naiwno-prorocze. Nie przewidziałem bowiem tylko, że wzmacnianie Agory może nie być bezinteresowne. No ale coż, jest tyle rzeczy na świecie, które nie śniły się nawet filozofom, a co dopiero mi..

Z przedostatniej chwili (update 14.07.06):

Jak czytamy w notce Krzysztofa Urbanowicza opublikowanej na jego blogu Media Cafe Polska, autor wycofał się z twierdzenia, że Kataryna była sponsorowana przez Agorę.

Już na same mnożące się, nawet na prawicowych blogach, linki do wiadomości Gazety, rzygać mi się chce. Nie mówiąc, że korzystanie z platformy blogowej Agory powoduje, że nawet najbardziej radykalny wobec niej bloxer wzmacnia pozcyję Agory w Internecie. Są przecież iine platformy blogowe, zupełnie neutralne, lub przynajmniej niezwiązane z żadnym medium.
