Um português abre uma filial, de sua empresa de pregos em Roma. Como propaganda, fez um outdoor com a figura de Cristo pregado na cruz e embaixo estava escrito:
-”PREGOS GARCIA – 2000 ANOS DE GARANTIA!”
Foi aquele rebuliço!
O Bispo de Roma foi pessoalmente conversar com o Português e explicar que ele não podia fazer isso. Então o português resolveu fazer um novo outdoor. Colocou Cristo com uma das mãos pregadas na cruz e a outra solta, dando tchau. Embaixo estava escrito:
- “ADIVINHE EM QUAL MÃO FOI USADO PREGO GARCIA!”
Meu Deus do céu!!! Até o Papa foi conversar com o português.
- Assim não dá! O senhor não pode usar Jesus Cristo como garoto propaganda. Invente outra coisa…

Colocou uma foto da cruz vazia, e embaixo escrito:

This whole RVP thing has turned into quite a storm my friends.  Just as the Arsenal were beginning to get the engine in gear, just when us we all began to believe the team was just one step away from taking the big step, RVP is out for the season.  But all is not lost.  Knowing that RVP is out for the season now is actually a blessing. 

I don’t mean to sound callus.  RVP has been inspirational the last two months and a team leader.  But losing him now allows the team to shift gears.  We know RVP is not coming back, so no more crying.  Yes of course it creates an opportunity for another player, (side glance at Vela), but this injury forces Arsene and company to act.  Buying players just to buy is ridiculous, but injuries have changed the equation.  Luckily we have time to plan this year before the transfer window closes.

Plenty of speculation will swirl around during the coming transfer storm.  Names that fell out of favor may come rushing back in (Huntelaar, Van der Vaart, Carlton Cole, that German kid or Remy).  But perhaps more important, this transfer window is building up to be what the summer was not.  A potential rush of new faces and blood into the club.  Besides a forward, Arsene must look at the left-back position and a new DM type of midfielder (for when Song leaves). Given the significant roles Arsene might be looking to fill I don’t expect any big name signings.

If recent history is any guide, Arsene is not afraid to pull the trigger on a big money trade at the right price for the right player (Nasri, Arshavin and V2000).  But the injuries during this term are asking for an injection of quantity to see us through the campaign.  This means less of a focus on adding the one veteran signing (Arshavin) and more about grabbing bodies that fill holes. Because of the sheer quantity of players he might need to bring in though, Arsene will be forced to buy cheaper.

Cheap buys on the players market is nothing new to Arsenal fans, but it does mean a sharp change in direction away from many of the past rumors.  Chamakh and Matuidi are likely out since both teams have placed high valuations on them.  This means the stock of someone like Clement Chantome is going up. This also applies to the likes of Huntelaar, unless Arsene can grab him on a deal, which is unlikely.  Cole presents an interesting possibility, but the English premium on his price might push him out of contention, especially since Bendtner will return.

Oddly enough, the story this January might revolve around Arsenal and Real Madrid.  Madrid has three players that might slot in well at the Arsenal; most importantly, all would likely be happy for the move.

The first is a player discussed during the summer transfer rage, Rafael van der Vaart.  Although he’s an attacking midfielder, he’s comfortable playing up front in a role RVP used to play.  So he’s a possibility if we’re looking for a 1-to-1 replacement.  He doesn’t play the exact same game as Arsene asked from RVP, but he has the ability to play that role.  Not to mention, since he enjoys being the center of the attack the position might work well for him.  He’s also the right age to quickly slot right in, 26-ish.  That being said, whether he might clash with Fab is a serious question.

Another player is a defensive midfielder, Gago.  The Argentine is not happy at his lack of playing time, has plenty of class and Madrid would likely sell him for a discount.He was only purchased for around 10 million euros in the package deal that brought him to Madrid, which means he can be sold for around £5m without much of an issue.  Gago would appear to fit in well with Arsene’s past chase of Alsonso. His game might clash a little with Baby Face Denilson, but that might be okay, since he can provide a three-party rotation when Song does return.  The question is whether he can help give Song a break of if we would still need a physical DM to back up Song.  The reserves might provide a Song backup so we’ll see.  All in all, he should mesh well with Fab and I would be least surprised to see him don the kit.

Finally, the third player is Drenthe.  Another Dutch national team member, he can play left midfield or left back position, he’s young and has ridiculous pace. Granted, Drenthe is a bit of a long-shot.  We don’t necessarily need him, but he might be too much talent to pass up at the right price.  I suspect he’ll move to the Italian league, honestly, but a quick strike to pick up a player of his quality is interesting.  Perhaps most important, his game does not clash with anyone on the field.

The problem with all of the players is that Arsene always goes that additional step: he looks at the man and personality.  This is great for the fans, it means we can truly support and love our players, but it also creates one more hurdle for a talented player to join us.  And after the Ade fiasco, I suspect Arsene is even more focused on the quality of the player.  Both Van der Vaart and Gago are unknown quantities in this regard.  Although rumors of Van der Vaart having a bad attitude exist.  And Drenthe has a pretty bad reputation that might immediately put Arsene off.

Regardless, this transfer window is sizing up to be exciting and I’m searching the Ligue 1 games like a groupie.  Teams know we’re somewhat desperate, but there is plenty of quality out there.  With chel$ki and manfool fighting over big name signings, I’m looking for Arsene to pull off three more Vermaelen signings and we shock the world.  That being said, I suspect we won’t know anything about the players we do sign and all of us will be scouring the web for any bit of information once the signings start to roll in.

Manchester City – Di María (M-Benfica) - Até pode vir a ser um jogador de destaque no futuro, mas não é o que o time precisa atualmente, longe disso.

Manchester United – Edin Dzeko (A-Wolfsburg) -  – Não é muito melhor que Berbatov e o time já tem Macheda como reserva do centroavante búlgaro.

Gago (V-Real Madrid) – Não é um primor de qualidade, mas sabe jogar, tem certa experiência e está louco para sair da Espanha. O argentino pretende ir à Copa e não tem jogado comfrquência nos merengues.

So yeah, won the title pretty comfortably in the end, with 94 points, great haul. I played loads of youngsters in the last game and lost (only my fourth of the year, not sure why I bothered, I got so annoyed at losing a game I shouldn’t have). I’d love to break 100 points, can’t see me doing it though.

Pirlo was booing about wanting a new challenge so I told him he could leave at the end of the season, he’s valued at £16million but the best bid I’ve had is for £7million, hmm. I’ll just keep him and let him carry on whining rather than sell him for that. Annoyingly I’ve had to give up on my chase for Cesc/Essien/Gerrard. I did get Gago in for cheap (stupid minimum fee by Madrid) and Hamsik just in case I do sell Pirlo though.

After deciding my front line didn’t need strengthening, the obvious thing was to take a look at Messi, realised he has a £35million buy out clause, so activated that and brought him in to play RM, sorry Cassano. So now going forward I’ve got Sneijder/Messi on the wings and Vela/Torres up front. Ace.

I’ve got £26million left, but no idea what to spend it on. I might not bother and wait and see if I need anyone in January. My scouts still aren’t finding anyone decent really, just going into 10/11 so I guess Regens will start flourishing soon.

Ah, and Czech Republic just won 2010 World Cup. Mental. I got offered the England job to replace Stevie Mac but politely declined. Obviously.

This year I fancy myself to win the league again (No-one else has strengthened noticeably, not that I’ve seen anyway), but I need to do better in Europe, I got knocked out in the first CL Knockout stage for the second time in three attempts. Not good enough at all. Fuck you Madrid.

El Alcorcon, equipo de la Segunda B (que viene siendo Tercera) de Espana le metio no uno, ni dos, ni tres, sino cuatro, al Madrid con Benzema, Guti, Raul y Marcelo, entre otros. La verdad, un cuadro merengue bastante titular, sin el brasilero, el portugues y Xabi, que es mucho decir, pero no contra un cuadro de tercera.

Hasta el viejo van Nistelroy jugo hoy, hasta Gago y el otrora heroe Diarra. Sin embargo, dicen que el portero fue el jugador del partido para Madrid de Pellegrini (que empieza a perder vidas). Si, ese Madrid que lo va a ganar todo, Champions incluida en casa.

El Real Madrid fichó en el mercado de invierno de la temporada 06/07 a dos jugadores argentinos que por aquella época no eran demasiado conocidos en España: Gonzalo Higuaín y Fernando Gago. El motivo de ambas contrataciones, más allá de la intención de hacer progresar a dos futbolistas jóvenes, fue tapar  huecos en un equipo que no encontraba su rumbo en una liga dominada hasta ese momento por el Barcelona.

Ambos jugadores fueron duramente criticados, sin dar margen a su adaptación y olvidando su inexperiencia de manera injusta. Sin embargo, mientras el “Pipita” ha ido superando obstáculos hasta convertirse en una referencia para el equipo -al menos durante la pasada campaña-, el juego de Fernando Gago no ha mostrado mejoría alguna.

Actualmente Gago no aporta nada al Real Madrid, y es inutil seguir apelando a su juventud, es un mediocentro invisible. Defensivamente es un jugador sacrificado pero débil. La impresión que causa sobre el campo es la de un pollo sin cabeza corriendo detrás del balón, sin ningún orden táctico. Ofensivamente, tiene habilidad para distribuir el balón y ver espacios, pero solo lo demuestra en algunos partidos, lo que le convierte en un jugador irregular. Además no tiene llegada ni mucho menos gol.

Además, el Real Madrid tiene muy bien cubierta esa parcela del campo. Los dos Diarrá como centrocampistas más defensivos, y Granero y Guti como futbolistas más creativos, además del indispensable Xabi Alonso, cierran las puertas a una poco probable titularidad del jugador argentino. Este verano hubo ofertas por él y el Real Madrid las rechazó, quizás temiendo una posible recaida de Mahamadou Diarra. Habiendo observado que el jugador malí puede volver a ser util al conjunto blanco, la mejor opción con respecto a Gago sería una venta. El Everton ofreció hasta quince millones por el “pintita”, cifra más que aceptable para deshacerse del que nunca será heredero de Redondo.

El Real Madrid sigue el ritmo del FC Barcelona tras ganar al Villarreal (0-2) en uno de los campos más complicados de esta Liga. Kaká, desaparecido durante el partido, marcó desde los once metros y se estrenó oficialmente con el Real. Partido sentenciado y minutos para Van der Vaart y Diarrá, los únicos que todavía no habían debutado esta temporada.

El Madrid pierde el liderato en favor del Barça, pero aguanta el ritmo del tricampeón gracias a la aceleración de Cristiano Ronaldo, que parece haberse olvidado definitivamente de la ansiedad inicial.

Let’s start with the not so successful.

Lass and Benzema’s France team could only earn two draws, which was enough to bring them up into 2nd place in their group, but they still need to get points in October in order to be in the top 8 of 9 runners-up in the playoff round.  Also, Benzema who has been fantastic this summer did not start either game for Les Bleus, but Lass performed well in both, keeping with his recent string of much improved play.

Gago’s Argentina side lost two games, one to rival Brazil, and then to berth-clinching Paraguay.  Argentina drops to 5th place in ConMeBol which means they are poised to play against a team from CONCACAF for a spot in South Africa.

Van der Vaart appeared for already qualified Holland in their 1-0 win over Scotland.

Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal back into contention for the playoffs thanks to Real Madrid teammate Pepe’s header in the 9th minute which put them past Hungary 1-0.

Kaká continued his always amazing play while leading his Brazil side in a 3-1 victory over continental rivals Argentina.

To round off the international results, we move to Spain.  Albiol, Arbeloa, and Xabi Alonso proved key in the Spanish defense that helped Spain beat Estonia 3-0, earning Spain a spot in South Africa next summer, while also propelling Iker Casillas into the record books as the keeper to have the most clean sheets in a Spain jersey with 57.  Casillas surpasses Andoni Zubizarreta’s mark of 56 clean sheets.  With two more caps, Iker will become only the third player for La Roja to reach 100 appearances, the first two being Zubizarreta and Madrid Captain Raúl.
