Fue todo un suceso el año pasado en Japón, el genio detrás de esta joya es Hayao Miyazaki de estudio Ghibli. Recuerdo que platicabamos mucho en los podcast de J-Music Revolution, quería ver esta pelicula como tantas otras de ese señor que si algo tiene es magia en sus manos.

Por aquel entonces Akiko nos dijo que probablemente llegaría a nuestro país y de la mano de su compañía JAL, y así ha sucedido.
Este 13 de Noviembre se estrenó, para mi fortuna, esta entrega cinematográfica y ya muero de ganas por ir a verla. (^o^)

Una de las primeras impresiones es de Poketronik de GameMaster
“Ponyo está entretenida y tierna, pero carece de la magia, la técnica y la psicodelia de las anteriores pelis de Miyazaki. Es muy para niños”. @Poketronik

Titulada originalmente Gake no Ue no Ponyo, en México la bautizaron con el nombre de “El Secreto de la Sirenita”. No hablaré de la hisotoria, porque la mayoría la conoce, pero si diré que el motivo de la tematica pretende hace conciencia social hacia la cultura de cuidar el medio ambiente, en este caso el mar, pero también a las relaciones entre los niños y adultos. Si tal vez como dice Poketronik, puede que sea una pelicula para niños y que no tenga tanta magia como los anteriores trabajos de Miyazaki, pero es innegable que cualquiera que vaya a ver esta pelicula la disfrutará, sea o no un niño.

Para terminar el tema musical de Ponyo, interpretado por Nozomi Ohashi y los señores Fujioka Fujimaki, pero este video esta divertido. Ahi se los dejo.

Gake no Ue no Ponyo, Ponyo sobre el acantilado o con el lamentable titulo que se encuentra ahora mismo en las salas de cine mexicanas: El secreto de la sirenita. Hoy por fin vi Ponyo sobre el acantilado, después de contenerme una vez que la descargue, después de dos retrasos de su estreno, al fin pude entrar al cine a ver la película más reciente de Studio Ghibli y de Hayao Miyazaki.

Ponyo nos narra la historia de una pececita (no es una sirena) que es hija de un hechicero del fondo del mar y la madre naturaleza, por mero azar Ponyo conoce a Sosuke, un chico de cinco años que vive en la casa justo encima de un acantilado, El chico y Ponyo se encariñaran, a partir del encuentro con su nuevo amigo, Ponyo querrá dejar de ser pez y convertirse en humana.

La historia definitivamente se parece al cuento de la sirenita que después se convirtió en la película de La sirenita de Disney, sin embargo Ponyo sobre el acantilado es más una historia de la fuerte amistad que se da entre los niños, ancianos y adultos, unos seres maravillosos sacados más de la cabeza de Miyazaki que del fondo marino y de la fuerza que llega a tener la naturaleza.

El arte es muy destacable, muy parecida a las anteriores obras de Studio Ghibli, pero esta vez con una animación, pienso, muy artesanal, me refiero a que no se ve que se haya abusado de la computadora, más bien parce que todo fue dibujado cuadro por cuadro, coloreado y al fin animado para que lo veamos en pantalla.

Mi opinión y porque cuando he hablado de películas siempre pongo un número es 10/10, pero nunca perdiendo de vista que es una película dirigida a niños muy pequeños.

Aprovechen que pocas veces hay la oportunidad de disfrutar una película animada japonesa en nuestros cines, además no creo que dure mucho en las salas de cine, si ya de por sí solo está en una y de las más pequeñas.

La cinta Ponyo – que aquí se nombró como El Secreto de la Sirenita – ha sido otra de esas películas que han estado sufriendo cambios en su fecha de estreno desde hace ya tiempo. Sin embargo, se confirmó ya el lanzamiento de la misma para este 13 de noviembre. Aunque es un film muy esperado, esta falta de confiabilidad por parte de las distribuidoras acaba siendo muy dañino para las salas, siendo a la larga un fuerte estímulo para la piratería.

I have finally got around to seeing Miyazaki’s lastest work, Ponyo.

Looking at the IMDB’s box office stats for the film, it seems its been a fairly good success in theaters here in America, but anyhow a friend and myself still managed to get a whole theater to ourselves for the showing.

I’m not really in the position to compare this movie to his other works given that the only other Miyazaki works I’ve seen are My Neighbor Totoro, Luputa: Castle in the Sky, and Kiki’s Delivery Service.  Others seem bothered that this Miyazaki film is solely a movie for kids (i.e. there’s not much more depth than that). Maybe from my own limited experience with Miyazaki works, I’m under the impression that is his specialty. John Beifuss points out that the film is eco-conscious, but given that the major driving forces in the movie are of magical natures; and the only person seeming to seek a balance in nature gives off a strong “bad guy aura” until towards the end of the movie.  Then again, if you want more depth from the movie, maybe we could try criticizing the mother.  Who leaves two five-year-old’s alone in the middle of typhoon to end all typhoons?

Anyhow, while watching the movie, the first thing to catch my eye is that there are definite continuity flaws in the little details, but every time I was about to question if one had made it to the main plot line, they seemed to suddenly solve the issue.  Also it takes what seemed to be well over fifteen minutes of our human characters being exposed to a fish with the face of human before anyone pointed out this obvious fact, but it was eventually pointed out.  Now I know, it’s a “children’s fiction movie,” but still.

The animation was, as to be expected, in a word, beautiful.  I wouldn’t expect any less from Studio Ghibli.

Would I say watching the movie was a waste of my time? No, by no means. Might there possibly have been more entertaining things to have been watching? Maybe. I’ve never rated a Miyazaki film before, but I give Ponyo a 7/10.

ต้องขอออกตัวก่อนเลยว่าไม่ได้เป็นแฟนของอนิเมะจากสตูดิโอจิบลิ (ที่ไม่ได้อ่านว่า จิบ-ลิ แต่อ่านว่า จิ-บลิ) ชนิดจะเรียกได้ว่าเป็น แฟนเดนตาย เพราะถึงที่บ้านจะมีผลงานที่เป็นภาพยนตร์ฉายโรงเกือบครบทุกเรื่อง ยกเว้นเสียแต่เรื่องก่อนหน้านี้ที่ชื่อ Tales from Earthsea แต่ที่ได้ดูจริงๆก็มีเพียง 4 เรื่องครึ่งเท่านั้น

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea / 崖の上のポニョ / โปเนียว ธิดาสมุทรผจญภัย จึงเป็นอนิเมะจากจิบลิลำดับที่ 5 ครึ่งของฉัน

ความจริงวันนี้มันง่วงมากๆ เนื่องจากเดินทางไปร่วมงานศพคุณพ่อของพี่มะเดี่ยวที่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ โดยนอนบนรถไฟสองคืนติดต่อกัน รวมเวลาหลับสนิทได้ไม่กี่ชั่วโมง วันนี้จึงงืดๆพอสมควร ตอนแรกก็คิดอยู่ว่า จะดูดีหรือเปล่า แต่ก็เอาวะ ถ้าหนังไม่ดี เข้าไปนอนเล่นในโรงหนังละกัน ..รวยว่างั้น

แต่โปเนียวไม่ทำให้ผิดหวัง หนังน่ารักมาก ดูสบายๆ ยิ้มกันไปได้ทั้งเรื่อง ไม่มีโอกาสได้หาวซักแอะ

โปเนียว (ซึ่งฉันกับเพื่อนๆเคยเรียกมันว่า ปองโย มาพักหนึ่ง จนเห็นโปสเตอร์ของไทยเขียนว่า โปเนียว จนไปถามเพื่อนได้ความว่าคนญี่ปุ่นเพื่อนเขาอ่านว่า ปองโย และจนสุดท้ายเห็นโปสเตอร์ของญี่ปุ่น ทำให้สรุปได้ว่า อ่านว่า โปเนียว) เป็นปลาทองเวทมนตร์แห่งท้องทะเล น้องหนูเป็นปลาซุกซนจนวันหนึ่งเจอกับน้องโซสึเกะ เด็กวัยห้าขวบ และการผจญภัยของทั้งคู่ก็เริ่มขึ้น (การ์ตูนเรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า เด็กสมัยนี้แก่แดดจริงๆ)

ตอนเข้าไปดู ฉันไม่รู้อะไรมากไปกว่า หนังเรื่องนี้เกี่ยวกับทะเล และปลาทองชื่อ โปเนียว เพราะกะเข้าไปนอนเต็มที่ เลยชิวๆสุดๆ แต่นับแต่ฉากเปิด ฉันก็หลงรักโปเนียวอย่างจัง เพราะโปเนียวกับน้องๆอีกกระพรวนเป็นตัวละครที่น่ารักมาก (ถึงตอนแรกจะสงสัยเล็กน้อยว่า โปเนียวมีลูกด้วยเหรอ) ดุ๊กดิ๊กได้ใจ ภาพโปเนียวในแมงกระพุนยังคงติดตา..

งานภาพของหนังทำออกมาได้น่ารักน่าเอ็นดู สวยงาม และเข้ากันได้ดี ฉันชอบน้ำทะเล / ปลาสีน้ำเงินเป็นพิเศษ รู้สึกว่ามันช่างเก๋ไก๋ และช่างคิดดี

ตัวเนื้อเรื่องแสดงถึงความเป็นญี่ปุ่น ทั้งความเป็นเมือง (ประเทศ) ชายทะเล, ความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับท้องทะเล และความใกล้ชิดของคนญี่ปุ่นกับธรรมชาติ ที่นับวันจะห่างไกลกันมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ คนทำร้ายทะเลกันมากขึ้น จึงต้องมีอนิเมะอย่าง โปเนียว ที่จะมาบอกว่า คนต้องดูแลธรรมชาติ รักกันๆ นะจุ๊บๆ (เรื่องนี้ก็ไม่ได้ไกลตัวคนไทยเหมือนกันนะ)

และสำหรับคนกำลังเรียนภาษาญี่ปุ่น นี่เป็นหนังฟังง่าย เหมาะแก่การฝึกฝนภาษาดีนะ

La última película del Studio Ghibli y del maestro Hayao Miyazaki, Ponyo en el acantilado, tiene como todas sus películas una banda sonora resaltable, en esta ocasión aunque suena demasiado infantil es pegadiza.

Egy halacska viszontagságos utazása a tengerfenéktől a hegytetőig.

A Ghibli stúdió és Hayao Miyazaki legutóbbi egész estés rajzfilmje 2008-ban jelent meg. A kicsivel több mint másfél órás anime elsősorban a fiatalabb korosztályt célozza, mert a történet és a megvalósítás is inkább a gyerekek lelkivilágához áll közel.

A történet főhőse Brünhilda, egy aprócska, furcsa kinézetű aranyhal, aki egy nap megunja apja, a tengeri varázsló vigyázó gondoskodását és kalandokat keresve a felszín felé veszi az irányt.

A parthoz kiúszva mindjárt rövid, ámde annál kellemetlenebb ismeretséget köt egy halászhálóval, végül azonban szerencséjére egy helyi kisfiú, az ötéves Sousuke vizesvödrében köt ki.

A kis halászváros lakójaként, na meg egy hajóskapitány apukával megáldva, Sousuke már szinte csecsemőkora óta érdeklődik az óceán és annak lakói iránt. Új barátját éppen ezért szeretné háziállatként gondozni – legalábbis egy ideig.

A halacskát Ponyónak kereszteli el, aki maximálisan elégedett az új helyzetével, hiszen amellett, hogy világot lát, végre kielégítheti csillapíthatatlan kíváncsiságát is.

Sousuke fiatal mamája, Lisa a helyi nyugdíjasotthonban dolgozik, ahol óvodás kisfia is gyakran csatlakozik hozzá. Az öregeknek jót tesz a fiatalos energia közelsége, ami végre egy kis színt visz egyhangú mindennapjaikba. Sousuke apukája, Koichi egy halászhajót kommandíroz, de gyakorta van távol családtagjaitól, akikkel ilyenkor csak rádión keresztül vagy morzejelek útján tud kommunikálni.

Ebbe a meghittnek mondható környezetbe csöppen bele Ponyo, aki nem sokáig ülhet nyugton a babérjain, mert a varázsló papa szeretné minél előbb visszajuttatni biztonságot jelentő tengeri otthonába. Az egykor szintén emberként élő Fujimoto nem szeretné, ha lányát elrontaná a romlott szárazföldi környezet és minden rendelkezésére álló eszközt bevet, hogy porontyát visszaszerezze. Hamarosan sikerrel is jár, de Ponyóba már beleivódott a Sousuke iránti ragaszkodás és úgy dönt, hogy szeretne emberré válni.

Saját varázserejének köszönhetően meg is teszi az ehhez szükséges első lépéseket és újabb kísérletet tesz rá, hogy megszökjön apjától. Menekülés közben véletlenül felszabadítja a víz alatti palotában elzárva tartott hatalmas mennyiségű varázserőt, amely megbontja a Föld egyensúlyát és az emberi világot a katasztrófa szélére sodorja.

A kislány alakot öltött aranyhal viszont mindezekből egyelőre semmit sem érzékel, szerencsésen visszatér Sousukéhoz és mivel Lisának sincs különösebb kifogása a különös jövevény ellen, náluk táborozik le.

Az erős varázs miatt azonban a tenger is alaposan felbolydul, óriási vihar kerekedik és az óceánból kiáradó víz elönti a sziget nagy részét. Lisa a nyugdíjasokért aggódva még az éjjel útnak indul az otthon felé, a gyerekeket pedig a biztonságot jelentő szirti házban hagyja.

Reggel a két lurkó arra ébred, hogy az óceán veszi körül őket, de Ponyo varázserejének segítségével hamarosan megteremtik a módját, hogy Lisa keresésére indulhassanak.

Egyedül az aggódó Fujimoto van tudatában a világra leselkedő veszélynek, azaz, hogy az óceán hamarosan elfoglalja az emberlakta területeket és visszaáll történelem előtti állapotába. Más választása nem lévén, a kétségbeesett varázsló Ponyo édesanyját, a tenger istennőjét hívja segítségül.

Ő szerencsére modernebb gondolkodású az örökké morcos párjánál, és nem látja akadályát, hogy gyermeke az általa választott úton haladjon tovább. Mindemellett feltétele is van az emberré válásnak, ami szorosan kapcsolódik az emberiség megmeneküléséhez. Ponyónak örökre le kell mondania a varázserejéről, és egy férfi elfogadó szerelmével kell megpecsételni a kívánságot. Ez utóbbi tény már csak azért sem egyszerű (vagy éppen azért?), mert főhőseink  ugyebár óvodás korú gyerekek…

Sousuke természetesen sikeresen helyt áll a felnőttek számára is kemény diónak számító helyzetben (akik azért előtte alaposan átbeszélik a részleteket), így aztán végül minden jóra fordul. A világ megmenekül, Ponyo ember maradhat és beköltözhet Lisáékhoz. A jövő pedig már csakis a fiatalokon múlik…

A külsőségeket tekintve igazán nem lehet panaszunk az animére. A látvány nagyon szép lett, részletesen ábrázolták a szereplőket és a környezetet is. Természetesen korábbi Ghiblis szereplők közül itt is jópáran visszaköszönnek, amire én külön pozitívumként szoktam tekinteni a stúdió műveiben. A zene ahogy már megszokhattuk az utóbbi idők filmjeinél, Joe Hisaishi igényes munkáját dicséri. A szinkronhangokat – ahogy eddig is minden esetben – megint csak kiválóan találták el.

Egyedül a történettel vitatkoznék egy kicsit, ami nézetem szerint talán túlságosan is le van egyszerűsítve. Ez persze a gyerekekből álló célközönség miatt nem feltétlenül lenne baj, ám bizonyos helyeken eléggé zavaróan hatnak a meg nem magyarázott részek. Máshol éppen fordítva van: feleslegesen bonyolítanak bizonyos dolgokat. Én az elsőnek említettet találom nagyobb (és gyakoribb) problémának, mert így több információt is – hogy úgy mondjam – visszatartanak előlünk. Az egész olyasféle érzést kelt, mintha a történetet csak felületesen dolgozták volna ki, illetve bizonyos elemeket egyszerűen kihagytak belőle (vagy csak a játékidő elhúzódását akarták megelőzni). Történeti szempontból legalábbis foghíjasnak tűnt az anime.

Ami viszont pozitívum és mellesleg más Ghiblikkel összhangban van, az a természetvédelem kérdésének ismételt boncolgatása. A téma ebben a műben is megjelenik, elsősorban az óceánokra és azok élővilágára összpontosítva. Nem kívánok belemenni a témába, egyszerűen csak jó ötletnek tartom a környezettudatosságra való nevelésnek ezt a fajta megközelítését. Talán így hatásosabb lehet…

Röviden összefoglalva a leírtakat azt mondanám, hogy egy kedves, kisebbeknek szóló mesét ismerhetünk meg a Ponyo személyében, ami szórakoztató léte mellett nagyon halványan, de már komolyabb témákat is körvonalaz a háttérben. Az említett történeti hiányosságok sajnos elég határozottan rányomják a bélyegüket a filmre, amivel az értékelésemet is alapvetően befolyásolták. Ezzel együtt egy négyest minden további nélkül megérdemel.

In Japan of 2008, critically acclaimed director and writer Hayao Miyazaki (of such films including Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro) debuted his latest animated masterpiece- Gake no ue no Ponyo, otherwise known as Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. To state briefly, the storyline revolves around the adventures of a 5-year old boy who meets a goldfish princess that longs to become human. I have yet to watch this film in Japanese, but I’m excited that Mr. Miyazaki was at comic con doing interviews about Ponyo and his inspirations.

Nos encontramos ante una película sencilla pero emotiva, desde un primer momento abriremos nuestra mente al mundo imaginario que Miyazaki nos brinda, el protagonista Sosuke que vive en una montañita a la orilla del mar, encuentra en ella, un pequeño tarro de cristal que dentro esconde una pequeña pez con un gracioso pelo de color rojo, esta pez es bautizada por Sosuke como Ponyo, que en el transcurso de la película se convertirá en humana, con la misma edad Sosuke.

Bueno sin desvelar nada mas de la trama, diré que la película me encanto, no es cine ñoño para niños pijos adoradores de hana guarrana ( o como se diga ), en la película veremos cosas tan tradicionales, pero tan olvidadas, como la amistad, la sinceridad, el amor, la fantasía, los sueños, la imaginación, que durante todo el film son representadas de forma sencilla u emotiva.

He de decir que salí con una gran sonrisa de la sala, y contadole a mi chica, que, que importante es no perder el espíritu que llevamos dentro cuando somos pequeños, ese espíritu que se empeñan en destruir desde todas las fronteras posibles, como si de una gran conspiracion a gran escala se tratara. Desde luego su mayor ataque va dirigido al espíritu soñador y mágico que posee un niño, por desgracia algo que parece que están consiguiendo cada vez en niños con menor edad.

Bueno, como soy positivo, acabare recomendando esta, para mi gran película, con la que saldrás recordando que la magia, la fantasía y la imaginación, es algo real que no debes olvidar que existe dentro de ti, y que forma parte de este mundo y de cualquier otro que seas capaz de imaginar.

Ponyo comes out in the US on August 14. I’m so excited to finally see it!!!!!!!!! I really can’t wait until it’s released on DVD in Japanese with English subtitles. I don’t like watching Miyazaki/Ghibli films in English, but I can never understand all of the Japanese…so without subtitles, I’m stuck. The only thing that’s weird is that they say Ponyo different….they don’t exaggerate the first ‘o’ so much, and say it with more of an ‘ah’ sound. But that’s just the way Americans say it, I suppose. I’m just so used to hearing it the Japanese way, haha, because everyone was completely obsessed with it while I was over there! I don’t know when I’ll be able to see it, but hopefully soon after it comes out !!

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea | Hayao Miyazaki, 2008

Hayao Miyazaki’s tenth film in his lengthy, Ghiblian reign over the world of animated cinema, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, is a disappointment. It pains me to utter such words, or even to type them out in front of me, for it is a return to the screen that I have anticipated for three long years now and one that has been made all the more difficult by the film’s sluggish journey across the world from Asia to Europe. Perhaps this is the problem. Miyazaki’s consistence as a director and slow, methodical mastering of a genre that he has regularly redefined means that any new material of his is now treated as an event rather than a mere release. His conquering of western audiences with the outstanding back-to-back features Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away at the beginning of the decade means that Miyazaki is now almost a household name outside Japan, and that the level of worldwide anticipation for his work is now as high as it has ever been in the man’s 40-year career – but can such hype ever really be lived up to? Ponyo, which centers around a young boy named Sosuke (based on Miyazaki’s son Goro at five years old) and his blossoming friendship with  a goldfish that later becomes a girl, suits its international distributor, Disney, down to the ground and even borrows a few narrative traits from The Little Mermaid – one of Disney’s most successful titles. The film, with its clear message of environmentalism and the importance of nature, is clearly aimed at a younger audience and this, coupled with an all-star Disneyfied dub should mean that Ponyo (note the shortened title) does fairly well when it is released stateside this August.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea sees an entirely new approach to animation by Ghibli, who do away with the crisp, almost cel-shaded look that Howl’s Moving Castle boasted and instead move onto something decidedly more natural. Considering the content that Ponyo purveys, this natural look – used to give the whimsical feeling of watercolours or pastels – is much better suited to the film. Miyazaki himself was intimately involved with much of this side of production, and it is certainly the film’s most redeeming quality – the sequences featuring the sea itself are positively breathtaking, and manage to capture the nature of the ocean in a way that Finding Nemo, with all its  research and precision and attention to detail, could never manage. Many critics have underlined Miyazaki’s younger target audience here as if it were some deep-seated flaw in the film but this is entirely beside the point. It’s a film for children, and if this isn’t obvious enough from the outset it’s almost spelled out by Miyazaki himself through a handful of oddly-placed references to his own My Neighbour Totoro. No, the flaws here exist instead in the lazy yet often downright contrived narrative that – just as with Ghibli’s Whisper of the Heart – crudely meshes real life with some fantastical dreamland and expects that to suffice. Then there is the heavy-handed approach to environmentalism which, while an honest and always prevailing feature in Miyazaki’s work, is as tactless as can be here. Still, the premise itself is an effective one, and if we can take this lesser Miyazaki at face value – that is, an old-fashioned adventure story designed to snare the imagination of today’s youth  – then it works, despite its shallow nature.

According to wikipedia, the UK dubbed version of Ponyo is now set for release in March 2nd 2010! It has once again been pushed further back until next year.

Existia um mistério em torno da estréia de Gake no Ue no Ponyo por aqui. Ninguém sabia se ia diretão para o DVD, ou se teria alguma chance (muito remota) de ir para as salas de cinema…

Mas então, eis que a PlayArte (estúdio que comprou direitos de Ponyo) decidiu que ele irá para o cinema! Sua estréia deverá ser dia 09 de Outubro.

Gake no Ue no Ponyo ((崖の上のポニョ/Ponyo no Penhasco à Beira-Mar) é mais uma criação Hayao Miyazaki, dos estúdios Ghibli (o mesmo que saiu grandes cults, como Meu vizinho Totoro, A Viagem de Chihiro e O Castelo Animado).

Vale lembrar que o filme de Ponyo foi um estrondoso sucesso de bilheteria no Japão duante todo 2008, ganhando até prêmios de trilha sonora.

Después de medio año del estreno de Ponyo en el acantilado en el Festival de Cine de Sitges, por fin hoy, se estrena en las carteleras españolas.

Como siempre, Hayao Miyazaki nos hace disfrutar de una delicia visual, que a pesar de ser más infantil que de costumbre continúa sumergíendonos en un mundo lleno de fantasía, magia, naturaleza y ternura. Lo que se destaca sobretodo en la película es “la relación entre los seres humanos y la naturaleza, la necesidad del equilibrio entre ambos y la amistad entre los niños y entre los adultos“.

En esta nueva película casi toda la historia se desarrolla en el mar (no por ello es peor que las otras). Junto al mar, en lo alto de un acantilado vive, junto con su madre, Sosuke, un niño de 5 años. Una mañana, mientras juega tranquilamente por las rocas de la playa, encuentra un pez rojo atascado en una botella de cristal. Éste la rescata y la bautiza con el nombre de Ponyo guardándola en un cubo de plástico. Tan fuerte es la relación que se establecen entre ambos que Ponyo desea convertirse en humano para estar junto a Sosuke.

Pero Fujimoto, el padre de Ponyo, impedirá que Ponyo se relacione ni conviva con seres humanos. Pues éste cree que los humanos no tienen respeto alguno por el mar y por la naturaleza.

No obstante los esfuerzos del padre, el pequeño pez logrará convertirse en una niña mágica y divertida para hacer vida junto a su nuevo amigo Sosuke.

Pero no todo es tan fácil, tras la metamorfosis (por llamarlo de alguna manera), las aguas empezarán a agitarse y las hermanas de Ponyo se esforzarán lo máximo posible por rescatarla y devolverla a las aguas marinas.

Y no cuento más porque explicaría demasiado sobre la película. Destacar sobretodo que toda la película está hecha a mano. Con esto quiero decir que no se ha recurrido a la tecnología. Tal y como el mismo Miyazaki nos dice: “en la escena de las medusas, las dibujamos todas ellas a mano. Ninguna es igual. Es fabuloso. Hoy en día, lo que se habría hecho es dibujar dos o tres medusas y luego copiar y pegar con un ordenador. Hacerlo todo a mano le da un aspecto más vivo a la animación. Se hicieron 170.000 dibujos a mano para los 108 minutos de película”.

Así que no sólo recomiendo esta película para los más pequeños, sino también para los grandes.

For me, there is little more to say than “it was really cute !” but I will try anyway.

My first thought is, it’s definitely a movie for kids. Take your own or your little brother/sister/nephew/niece to see it, they’ll just love it. But if you’re waiting for something more, you’ll probably get disappointed.

There isn’t a lot of background or message like you could see in former movies. Yes, there is a bit about protecting the oceans, but it’s not really emphasized. The trawling boat bit was scarily accurate though.

Otherwise, it’s the little mermaid myth with a bit of Miyazaki Magic. And a Totoro reference that I just love and almost made me sing out loud.

Also, one of my friends pointed out that Ponyo’s dad looks like Albator. It’s a bit far-fetched but it made me laugh so I’m sharing.

Still, it’s definitely, completely and maddeningly cute.

C’è un composto chimico che costituisce circa il 66% del corpo umano, che ricopre il 70% della superficie del nostro pianeta, che ha il punto di fusione circa a 0°C e quello di ebollizione intorno ai 100 °C, che in condizioni normali (20 °C, 1 atm) si presenta come un liquido inodore, insapore e trasparente, che ha formula molecolare H₂O. Il suo nome in italiano è: “Acqua“.

L’acqua, nella mia vita, ha assunto e assume diversi ruoli: durante gli anni passati a scuola, mentre fingevo di voler diventare un perito chimico, ho imparato a considerarla un solvente; Nel tempo libero è quella cosa che non fa cantare e arrugginisce lo stomaco; In fabbrica è quella roba che mi cade addosso e mi bagna mentre  sto lavorando.

Ma quando arrivo a casa ,e mi metto a disegnare, l’acqua diventa un vero incubo: non solo è difficile da rappresentare ma anche un oggetto elementare, immerso in essa, cambia colore e definizione dei contorni e diventa drammaticamente difficile.

Ma ecco che, all’orizzonte, appare Hayao Miyazaky.

L’ultimo lungometraggio del Maestro, Gake No Ue No Ponyo (Ponyo Sulla Scogliera), non è “soltanto” l’ennesimo capolavoro, una favola godibilissima anche per i bambini un po’ cresciuti, la puntualizzazione che il disegno e l’animazione ”a mano” hanno ancora molto da offrire in un panorama di lavori in Computer Grafica (sempre più spesso di livello scadente).

Ponyo Sulla Scogliera è, soprattutto, un meraviglioso spunto per capire come si rappresenta l’acqua: sono innumerevoli gli stili utilizzati (sempre fusi in maniera sorprendente in modo da non stridere col resto dell’animazione): Hokusai e la Disney, Yellow Submarine e i moderni tratti degli Anime, tutti mescolati dalla “Magia Ghibli“. Tutto sembra così facile, tutto è facile.

Quindi consiglio vivamente la visione a tutti perchè ci sono ancora troppi lavori dello Studio Ghibli non distribuiti in Italia, perchè l’acqua non è una cosa banale, perchè “All You Need Is Love” ma, soprattutto, perchè è un bellissimo film.
