<title><![CDATA[Perceptions of Aceh in Yogyakarta]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p style="text-align:justify;">For the past three years, the <a href="http://www.arti.unimelb.edu.au/" target="_blank">Aceh Research Training Institute (ARTI)</a>, has trained young scholars from academia, government, and the non-profit sector in social science research methods. After two selective short courses, ARTI awards small 6-month research grants to the most promising proposals. I have had the great pleasure of mentoring four women in the program. As ARTI concludes its program (for now), the Australian director of the program together with the Director of <a href="http://pasca.ugm.ac.id" target="_blank">Gadjah Mada University&#8217;s (UGM) Graduate School (Sekolah Pascasarjana)</a> decided to showcase this year&#8217;s ARTI researchers together with some UGM students at a day-long seminar at <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&#38;source=s_q&#38;hl=en&#38;geocode=&#38;q=Teknika+Utara+Yogyakarta&#38;sll=-7.765593,110.378265&#38;sspn=0.046434,0.052958&#38;ie=UTF8&#38;hq=&#38;hnear=Jalan+Teknika+Utara,+Sleman,+Indonesia&#38;t=h&#38;ll=-7.765509,110.37753&#38;spn=0.185735,0.21183&#38;z=12" target="_blank">UGM&#8217;s grad school campus in Yogyakarta</a>. The seminar preceded UGM&#8217;s first ever graduate student conference, and some of the ARTI researchers presented there as well. Altogether, it was three full days of Indonesian academic discourse for young and emerging scholars in the social sciences, with maximum attendance and plenty of interesting research content. ARTI supported eight researchers from Aceh to come to Yogya and take part in these events. Their research covered a range of topics such as:</p>
<ul style="text-align:justify;">
<li>Participation of Women Candidates in Provincial and District Level Legislative Elections in Aceh</li>
<li>The 2009 Legislative Elections in Post-Conflict Aceh</li>
<li>Child Abuse During and After the Conflict at an Orphanage in Aceh Utara District</li>
<li>Perceptions of Exclusive Breast Feeding Among First-time Mothers in a Suburban Village on the Outskirts of Lhokseumawe, Aceh</li>
<li>College Students in Banda Aceh and Their Efforts to Quit Smoking</li>
<li>The Politics Behind the <em>Khalwat</em> Legislation in Aceh</li>
<li>New Urban Sufism Practices and Institutions in Banda Aceh</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Their presentations were great, as good if not better than the other researchers from Yogya and other parts of Indonesia. I advised three of the presenters and felt especially proud of their performance and the way they handled both positive feedback and constructive criticism during the Q&#38;A.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The questions from the audience unwittingly revealed, one after another, the peculiar stereotypes and misperceptions that non-Acehnese Indonesians still hold about Acehnese society five years after the tsunami, and more than four years after the peace agreement that ended 30 years of separatist conflict against the Indonesian state. Here are three examples:</p>
<ol style="text-align:justify;">
<li>Two presentations on the same panel covered aspects of GAM&#8217;s transformation from armed insurgency into a political machine that, following recent elections, now dominates the provincial government and many district governments. This prompted a woman in the audience to share her concern and ask whether <strong>GAM has a hidden agenda to resume their struggle for independence<span style="font-weight:normal;"> though internationalization.</span></strong> Indeed, the Acehnese diaspora did a terrific job of lobbying the international community, promoting GAM&#8217;s struggle, during the conflict. Furthermore, it was no small victory for GAM to hold the peace talks in Helsinki instead of in Indonesia. She worried that GAM still employs this strategy and her evidence was the provincial government&#8217;s international scholarship program for dozens (if not hundreds) of Acehnese to pursue graduate studies abroad. Never mind that the scholarship program began before Partai Aceh (GAM&#8217;s local political party) was even established let alone won any elections. Never mind that the program is a smart investment in Aceh&#8217;s future now that the provincial government finally enjoys access to revenue from its natural resources (thanks to the peace agreement). Never mind that such investments are necessary after the conflict kept Acehnese society closed to the world of ideas for at least a generation. And never mind that investing in education is all the more urgent after the tsunami killed thousands upon thousands of Aceh&#8217;s most productive and skilled citizens in Banda Aceh and other urban centers along the coast. Her question about the scholarship program had nothing to do with the elections, the main subject of the presentations. Concerned Indonesian nationalists do wonder if Partai Aceh will pursue independence for Aceh through the political process now that they run the provincial government, but that&#8217;s not what she asked. She thinks GAM is sending out Acehnese missionaries to schools around the world to promote Aceh&#8217;s independence and she told us this after two talks about the elections. What.</li>
<li>After a fascinating and deeply concerning presentation about the stack of problems that first-time mothers face in exclusively breastfeeding their babies during the first six months after childbirth, a woman asked whether Arab influence (<em>arabisasi</em>) is responsible for the decrease in breastfeeding mothers. The presenter already covered the far more proximate and convincing roles played by midwives, nurses, families, Acehnese beliefs about women and childbirth, postpartum diet, the baby milk formula and advertising industries, and basic health education. This woman felt that the Arabisation of Aceh should be added to the list, because, well, she once heard that Arab culture is not supportive of women and childbirth. <em>Ya Allahhh</em> (read: OMG)&#8230; OK, to be fair, the Arabisation of Indonesian society at large has been a subject of contentious public debate for at least the past ten years. And Aceh, after all, is known as &#8220;Mecca&#8217;s Verandah&#8221; (<em>S</em><em>erambi Mekkah</em>), and was Islam&#8217;s point of entry into the Malay archipelago so many centuries ago. More recently, the formal implementation of Islamic law in Aceh this decade is held up as one of Indonesia&#8217;s most troubling examples of Arabisation. The woman who asked the question is tapping into the widely accepted notion that <strong>Aceh is full of Islamic fanatics</strong> and therefore must be prone to Arab influence, paving the way for the rest of Indonesia to follow suit. <em>Arabisasi</em> in Indonesia is a debatable phenomenon to begin with, a catch-all term to name the rapid changes in Islamic practice in Indonesia that feel inconsistent with local practice, even more so in Java than in Sumatra. But even if we accept Arabisation at face value, I wonder if she would ask the same question if the case study on breastfeeding was conducted in a suburban village on the outskirts of Yogya instead of Lhokseumawe? Let&#8217;s be clear: Indonesians think Acehnese are fanatics because Snouck Hurgronje said they were, 100 years ago! Post-colonial Jakarta inherited and perfected Batavia&#8217;s convenient othering artifice that first justified Dutch and then Indonesian military oppression in Aceh. I could go on and on about this, but the point here is that young Acehnese mothers have so much more to worry about when trying to breastfeed their babies than the Arabs.</li>
<li>In Aceh, the word <em>qanun</em> means regional laws (<em>peraturan daerah</em> or <em>perda</em> in other provinces). There are a few qanun in Aceh that define a provincial-wide criminal code based on Islamic law. One of the presentations told the history of the <em>khalwat</em> qanun and the political and religious interests that surrounded it. I&#8217;m no expert in Islamic law, but the khalwat law forbids various sexual and other kinds of vice, and defines the corporal punishments for breaking the law which include caning with a rattan whip. After this presentation, a man asked the presenter whether or not &#8220;qanun&#8221; in Aceh (by which I think he meant various Islamic laws ratified and implemented in Aceh and not qanun in general) can survive when ganja farming and ganja use are such a huge problem in Aceh. Huh what? I guess he was implying that Acehnese society would never by pious enough to live by Islamic law if <strong>everyone in Aceh smokes ganja</strong>. To my knowledge, there are qanun based on Islamic law that deal with alcohol consumption, but I&#8217;m not sure if they cover ganja use. Anyway, setting aside ganja for the moment, many Acehnese still drink alcohol, gamble, cheat on their spouses, and enjoy pre-marital sex&#8230; and these are all clear breaches of Islamic law codified in qanun. This guy thinks that real world vice practices are actually a threat to qanun on the books. He even thinks that real world practices possibly not even covered in qanun will also threaten the qanun&#8217;s existence. Or maybe he just wanted to remind the presenter and everyone in the seminar room that Aceh has a well established, but illegal, ganja production and trade industry, and that reflects poorly on the people of Aceh and puts a stain on Indonesia&#8217;s reputation. Ganja has been a cooking ingredient in Aceh for generations, and the seeds are often crushed and used as a kind of &#8220;natural MSG&#8221; as well. I don&#8217;t believe this actually makes anyone high, but people like to joke that it does. Since the crop has always been a part of the local agriculture, it was exploited, especially as a source of black market revenue during the conflict, and developed into a lucrative industry, supplying the demand for ganja throughout Indonesia and possibly throughout Southeast Asia (I&#8217;m no expert on this either). These are real issues, but to call ganja a threat to the very survival of qanun based on Islamic law is quite imaginary.</li>
</ol>
<p style="text-align:justify;">To the credit of the presenters, none of them even bothered to answer these three questions. The questions were so fantastically disconnected from the content of each presentation that the presenters probably didn&#8217;t even know how to begin a much more fundamental and complicated conversation that breaks down the assumptions and stereotypes that non-Acehnese Indonesians still hold against Aceh. Like the questions themselves, such a conversation is off-topic from the research findings they came to discuss. At a graduate conference, full of graduate students (and their professors), at least three people in this educated group couldn&#8217;t let go of their bias and fear, and sadly allowed themselves to ask foolish questions.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">On the flip-side, an Acehnese graduate student (not from our ARTI group, thank goodness!) from Nagan Raya district stood up and embarrassed himself as well. Following a presentation about women&#8217;s participation in local politics in Aceh Utara and Lhokseumawe delivered by a very smart and articulate woman from Malikusaleh University, this guy from Nagan Raya told her that she really should have checked the election results from Nagan Raya in 2004, when he was on the elections oversight board (panwaslu) there, because a lot of women won in his district. He embodied the worst in Aceh gender dynamics, challenging the presenter more rudely than he would have if the presenter was a man. Again, he was off-topic, as she had clearly demarcated her research to the 2009 elections in Aceh Utara and Lhokseumawe, completely on the opposite coast of Aceh from Nagan Raya. The panel moderator had told the audience very strictly and clearly that each person could ask only one question, but this dude wanted to ask four! A friend of mine who was sitting next to where he was standing reached over and turned off the microphone because everyone in the auditorium was protesting the number and length of his questions. Our Aceh delegation from ARTI was pretty embarrassed, because as the above examples illustrate, Acehnese have enough negative perceptions stacked against them. This Acehnese guy from Nagan Raya spoke publicly at UGM in a way that confirms and diminishes other Indonesians&#8217; image of Aceh.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">
<p style="text-align:justify;">Since I started working in Aceh in 2005 I have become familiar with many of the assumptions and stereotypes that people in Jakarta and other parts of Indonesia (in Java and Bali especially, where the majority of Indonesians live anyway) hold against Aceh, but this conference demonstrated many of them in concentrated and instructive form. Their assumptions interfered and prevented them from carefully listening to the young scholars from ARTI and understanding local dynamics in Aceh as they were reflected in the ARTI scholars&#8217; presentations. Beyond this seminar, the ways that powerful people in Jakarta and in Indonesia&#8217;s most distinguished halls of academia like UGM misperceive Aceh has more sinister consequences. <a href="http://twitpic.com/rsar6" target="_blank">My advisor</a> has had the surreal experience of presenting findings at UGM from our research about levels of violence and psychological disabilities in conflict-affected communities in Aceh. The numbers are powerful and scary, and there is an implicit message about Java&#8217;s complicity in the violence that occurred there. Reactions from the audience vary, but a common response is a somber &#8220;we never knew.&#8221; Such ignorance may be largely attributed to an orchestrated disinformation and obfuscation campaign by the government, but such an effort is so much easier when you can rely on century-old discourses about Aceh that always and already make sure that you never wanted to know in the first place.</p>

<p>Gustavo Macchi “mi insegna i colori complementari […] Vittore Grubicy, porta dall’estero il divisionismo. Lo fa fare a Segantini,  a Morbelli ed a me”.<br />
Così Longoni riassume nelle sue memorie la vicenda dell’approccio tecnico al suo personale divisionismo, applicato per la prima volta alla pittura di figura ne L’oratore dello sciopero, eseguito tra il 1890 e il 1892. Esponendo L’oratore alla Triennale di Brera nel 1891, Longoni è certo consapevole di presentare al pubblico e alla critica un’opera che farà discutere, sia per la tecnica sperimentale con cui è realizzata, sia per il contenuto dichiaratamente politico. Se il dipinto, infatti, fa “ferocemente” discutere gli artisti e il pubblico, al di fuori dall’ambiente strettamente braidense e milanese, i commenti sono più pacati e il soggetto sociale dell’opera è letto, e a suo modo compreso, entro la rassicurante tradizione dell’iconografia popolare.<br />
Le discussioni sul dipinto erano iniziate a Brera già in sede di commissione giudicatrice delle opere da ammettere alla mostra. Dai verbali dell’Accademia si ricava che il quadro, in quell’occasione intitolato 1° Maggio, fu ammesso con otto voti su undici. L’artista raffigura infatti uno sciopero al quale aveva certamente assistito e più probabilmente partecipato, forse lo sciopero con il quale l’anno precedente era stato celebrato per la prima volta a Milano il Primo Maggio, la temutissima e vietata Festa dei Lavoratori; la seconda, e ancora vietata celebrazione della Festa, coincise nel 1891 proprio con la data di apertura al pubblico della Triennale.</p>

<title><![CDATA["Da Barlassina a via Stella"  di Giovanna Ginex]]></title>

<p>Da Barlassina a via Stella.<br />
La strada percorsa dal pittore, da Barlassina dove era nato nel 1859, allo studio-abitazione in via Stella (oggi via Corridoni) a Milano, era stata lunga, coraggiosa e tormentata. Ne rappresentano una tappa decisiva gli studi all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, seguiti con accanita costanza e brillanti risultati fino al conseguimento del diploma, nel 1880. Nel corso dell’anno accademico 1879-1880 Longoni frequenta anche la Scuola di Anatomia, alla cui cattedra sedeva Gaetano Strambio. A testimonianza dell’abilità raggiunta rimangono due esercitazioni accademiche a matita e sanguigna (cat. n. 1).<br />
Un’altra prova accademica, a olio su tela, è nascosta al di sotto dello strato pittorico visibile del dipinto Cocomeri e poponi (Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano, cat. n. 8). Le risultanze delle indagini condotte in questa occasione hanno infatti permesso di recuperare un nuovo soggetto, riferibile a una delle opere plastiche raccolte nelle aule braidensi fin dai primi anni dell’Ottocento a uso dell’Accademia. Il soggetto del dipinto rimanda, in particolare, a una specifica prova, per la quale Longoni ottenne la medaglia d’argento, come si evince dagli Atti accademici dell’a.a. 1879-1880.<br />
I segni di piegatura della tela indicano come il giovane Longoni nel suo continuo spostarsi, abbia portato con sé il dipinto, forse per un’affezione speciale nei confronti della tela premiata. L’opportunità di una committenza importante per dipinti di natura morta e l’incalzare dell’esposizione annuale di Brera, dove nel 1887 espose Cocomeri e poponi, uniti all’estrema indigenza, dovettero però convincerlo a sacrificare quella prova giovanile, e dunque a riutilizzare la tela.</p>

<p>sabtu kita dah jalan n maen2 bareng rasanya indah banget n kalau terhenti begitu saja sayang sekali rasanya, namun akhirnya bersambung minggu pun aku ketemu sama akang,</p>
<p>kita ketemu di radio suara lumajang di tempat aku siaran radio, akang n mas rifin sengaja nemenin aku coz aku pernah cerita problemku saat siaran. ya, mungkin akang iba n khawatir gitu ke aku;-)yeeeeee&#8230;.GR bgt ya aku, jadi malu.</p>
<p>aku ngliat akang pas di SL manis&#8230;..,cakep&#8230;.,bersih&#8230;.banget padahal biasanya g&#8217; seperti itu ya mungkin karena malam jadi cahayanya g&#8217; begitu terang:-)heheheh ampun kang&#8230;.</p>
<p>tapi mang bener akang cakep kok kalo rambutnya di pangkas tapi ya&#8230; jangan botak ntar aku sulit beda&#8217;in mana kang haz n kang yul (tuyul gitu;-)hehehehe)</p>

<p>trus akang harus pergi ke Lesehan Stadion Semeru (LSS) coz harus nemui teman2 <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=58565038316">Gamer</a> ,ya mang rencana akang ke lumajang kan juga  Ngopi Bareng, (itu acara teman2 <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=58565038316">Gamer</a> saben minggu malem), n akang sempat sms aku kalo di tunggu di LSS, ya&#8230; aku sich faham kenapa akang nunggu aku bukan karena akang pengen ngobrol sama aku tapi uang kembalian akang belum tak kasih;-)</p>
<p>akhirnya pukul delapan acara sastra yang aku asuh berakhir, n di SL tinggal mas rifin yang jagain aku, aku pulang bareng mas rifin tapi g&#8217; langsung pulang kudu mampir ke LSS dulu, sebenarnya aku malu banget coz g&#8217; kenal sama warga2 <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=58565038316">GAM</a> saat itu aku belum gabung&#8230; tau GAM aja baru kemarin pas di ceritain presidennya yaitu kang haz&#8230;;-) (kang haz keren ya?????)</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">My grandmother recently sold her house and moved into an assisted living facility. And she loves it! She always has visitors, and plans, and is impossible to reach now.  It&#8217;s a good thing and I really enjoy hearing how happy she is when we chat on the phone. Well, when she&#8217;s actually around and can talk!</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">My Aunt Betsy and Aunt Nancy cleared out Gam&#8217;s house, more or less. Divided up all the goods amongst the kids and grand kids. It&#8217;s a lot of work to pack up a house, especially when it&#8217;s not yours.  Then they were kind enough to deliver said items to the new owners.  How fabulous!</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">I am the proud new owner of my Gam&#8217;s fine china. It&#8217;s her wedding china. It&#8217;s German porcelain. I can&#8217;t get over how light it is, either! My guess is it&#8217;s about fifty years old, maybe a little older.  Several years ago my Mother told Gam that she wanted to make sure I received the china. The fact that it actually happened is amazing (there are a lot kids and grand kids). The fact that Mom was right and I&#8217;d like it isn&#8217;t amazing, but shows how much she knows me and my tastes.  It really is gorgeous.  My china is made by Tirschenreuth. Yeah, say that fast three or four times.</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">The china was a perfect reward for my hard work last Monday. My cousin, Julie, is on bed rest. Her mother, my Aunt Betsy, has been living with Julie for about a month now. But, she also wants to keep a little bit of her life, so goes home or visits her other children on the weekends.  To give Aunt Betsy a rest Sean and I have gone over to Julie&#8217;s  the past two Mondays so Aunt Betsy doesn&#8217;t have to rush back. The extra day off gives Aunt Betsy a much needed break so she can do things like visit other grandchildren or pack up Gam&#8217;s house. Some break!  This past Monday Sean and I got over to Jules&#8217; around 10 am. We didn&#8217;t leave until just before 8pm. Sean and his cousin, Cade, spent most of the day playing and wearing each other out. Julie and I spend most of the day laughing. That&#8217;s what she and I do best together. I must admit that by the time we arrived home I was pretty pooped.  Chasing around two 2 1/2 year old boys was tough work.  Additionally I had to continually discipline Julie to get off her feet since she&#8217;s on bed rest and all.  After dinner was over we packed up my car with Gam&#8217;s china and sewing paraphernalia. I got home and put Sean to bed. Exhausted, I unloaded my car. It seemed silly to drive around town with china in my trunk. I didn&#8217;t do much with the sewing stuff but managed to get it into my sewing room. The china came upstairs to get unpacked.  I sat down and had some water. Then I debated if I should open the boxes or not. Okay, I have to open the boxes to check out the loot. That was the best idea I&#8217;d had all day! Unpacking Gam&#8217;s china was the perfect reward for my hard work. I admired it for a while then pondered where to put it. I do have a small house after all.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">My new china found a home yesterday.  Some glass vases were relocated and Gam&#8217;s china is happily stored next to my china. I&#8217;m grateful they go together and I can mix and match.</p>

<p>Ca khúc có lẽ được Trịnh Công Sơn sáng tác vào khoảng năm 66-67, mang âm hưởng của những bản tình ca đầu tay: buồn, mưa, hoang tàn. Cùng trong thời gian này là Tình nhớ, Tình sầu, làm thành một bộ ba. Đoạn chuyển ở giữa bài từ hợp âm thứ sang hợp âm trưởng cũng giống với trong Như cánh vạc bay. Khi chơi những đoạn này, cái tôi thấy được không phải là dụng ý nghệ thuật mà đơn giản chỉ là cảm xúc.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Una sola carta al costo di 7 Euro con cui i cittadini milanesi potranno entrare nei musei di Torino. E’ questo un altro dei risultati della collaborazione fra le due città iniziata proprio sul terreno della cultura da qualche anno.</p>
<p>Le Città di Milano e Torino, dopo il successo del festival musicale MiTo, lavorano nuovamente insieme oltre i confini municipali nello speciale autunno delle arti contemporanee grazie a ContemporaryArt + Contemporaneamente Milano 2009, un progetto innovativo che vede le due città sempre più vicine, grazie anche all’imminente inaugurazione  della tratta ferroviaria ad alta velocità.</p>
<p>A tale proposito, nell’ottica di incentivare la fruizione dei vari eventi, la Città di Torino con il progetto Abbonamento Musei Torino Piemonte, propone ai cittadini milanesi la possibilità di acquistare dal 1 al 30 novembre, <strong>una Card a 7 euro valida sino al 31 dicembre 2009: uno speciale “pass” con cui si potranno visitare i musei torinesi</strong>.<br />
La tessera può essere acquistata a Torino, su presentazione della Carta di Identità presso Infopiemonte Torino Cultura, in piazza Castello angolo via Garibaldi.</p>
<p>Il visitatore potrà così scegliere: dalla <strong>GAM</strong> che ha appena inaugurato gli spazi espositivi con un grande lavoro di progettazione e di riallestimento delle collezioni permanenti, al <strong>Castello di Rivoli</strong>, con la mostra dedicata a Gianni Colombo, protagonista dell’arte cinetica internazionale; potrà passare alla <strong>Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo</strong> per ammirare la prima mostra del progetto europeo <strong>FACE</strong> (Fondazione d’arte per l’Europa Contemporanea) che propone 40 opere, il cui titolo – Indagini di un cane &#8211; prende il nome da un racconto di Franz Kafka il cui protagonista, un cane, si interroga sul senso della comunità, e arrivare alla <strong>Fondazione Merz</strong> con il Progetto speciale dell’artista concettuale Lawrence Weiner &#8211; <em>Inclined enough to roll</em> &#8211; una mostra che ruota intorno a 3 grandi opere a parete posizionate negli spazi interni ed esterni della Fondazione. Da non perdere l’animazione giapponese con la mostra coprodotta dal Festival di Locarno e dal <strong>Museo Nazionale del Cinema</strong>, <em>Manga Impact</em>, alla Mole Antonelliana; e ancora: la collettiva Greenhouse (Autumn)  che intende tracciare un ampio paesaggio di pratiche artistiche e di interpretazioni del vivente, del reale e del naturale, visitabile presso il <strong>Parco d’Arte Vivente</strong> e Nuovi Arrivi la rassegna di artisti under 35 attivi in Piemonte, italiani e non, ospitata dall’<strong>Accademia Albertina delle Belle Arti</strong>; potrà infine passeggiare nelle vie di Torino illuminate per tutto il periodo dalle <strong>Luci d’Artista</strong>, mostra a cielo aperto di opere luminose create appositamente da grandi artisti nazionali e internazionali.</p>

<p>Apenas os oficiais lotados no Grupamento Aéreo-Marítimo (GAM) utilizam macacões feitos com tecido não-inflamável, que não derrete e apenas começa a sofrer danos em temperaturas superiores a 380°C. A denúncia foi feita ontem, durante enterro do corpo do cabo Izo Gomes Patrício, 36 anos. Ele era um dos três praças da unidade especializada que sofreram queimaduras durante ataque ao helicóptero em que estavam durante operação sobre o Morro dos Macacos, em Vila Isabel, na Zona Norte do Rio, no último sábado. Os outros dois PMs – os soldados Edney Canazarro de Oliveira, 30, e Marcos Standler Macedo, 40 – morreram ainda no local.</p>

<p>&#8220;Se a roupa fosse adequada, poderia ter amenizado os ferimentos, ou mesmo evitado. O piloto e o co-piloto estavam usando e não sofreram queimaduras&#8221;, denunciou um policial militar que está na corporação há oito anos – mesmo tempo que o cabo Patrício.</p>

<p>&#8220;Se não fosse por ele, eu não estaria aqui hoje. Há quatro anos, quando trabalhávamos juntos no 22º BPM (Benfica), eu sofri um acidente durante incursão no Complexo da Maré e foi ele quem me tirou da linha de tiro. Sempre foi corajoso e esse não foi o único ato heróico dele. Não perdemos somente um policial. Perdemos um policial herói&#8221;, ressaltou, pedindo para que não tivesse a identidade divulgada, por medo de represália.</p>

<p>O tecido especial – chamado Nomex – é uma fibra utilizada também por profissionais como pilotos de aeronaves e de carros de automobilismo, por ser altamente resistente ao calor. Utilizada pela primeira vez em 1965, em um macacão de vôo para a Marinha dos Estados Unidos, atualmente a fibra Nomex é parte integrante de acessórios de pilotos e tripulantes de aeronaves, como macacões, balaclavas, coletes e luvas.<br />
Resistente à chama, o tecido feito de Nomex só queima enquanto houver contato imediato com a fonte da chama. Além de criar uma barreira isolante, impedindo a queima do material, a fibra também diminui consideravelmente a transferência de calor, aumentando o tempo de permanência do usuário em um ambiente de alta temperatura.</p>

<p>&#8220;Alguns de nós têm porque conseguimos por meios próprios. Eu ganhei de um amigo das Forças Armadas. Outros compraram. É um fardamento que deveria ser dado pela corporação, pois cada macacão desse custa R$ 1.500 e nem todos têm como adqüirir&#8221;, revelou um oficial lotado no GAM, que pediu para não ser identificado.</p>

<p>Além dos três PMs mortos, outros três PMs faziam parte da tripulação do helicóptero Phênix &#8211; atingido por tiro disparado por traficantes ligados à facção criminosa Comando Vermelho (CV), no último sábado, dia 17: os capitães Marcelo Vaz de Souza, 38, e Marcelo de Carvalho Mendes, 29, respectivamente piloto e co-piloto, e o cabo Anderson Fernandes dos Santos, 34. Enquanto os dois oficiais já receberam alta – o primeiro sofreu queimaduras na mão esquerda e o segundo foi baleado no pé – o cabo permanecia internado, no Hospital da Força Aérea, na Ilha do Governador, até a tarde de ontem.</p>

<p>Acompanhado por cerca de mil pessoas, entre familiares, amigos e colegas de farda, o cortejo que levou o corpo do cabo Izo Gomes Patrício, 36, ao Cemitério Jardim da Saudade, em Sulacap, na Zona Oeste do Rio, reuniu emoção e revolta.</p>

<p>&#8220;Toda missão tem baixa. Infelizmente meu irmão foi a estatística dessa baixa. Ele sempre foi muito família e dava valor ao profissionalismo. Morreu como herói&#8221;, enfatizou um dos irmãos do PM, o também cabo da Polícia Militar Robson Gomes Patrício, 39, lotado no Batalhão de Polícia Rodoviária Estadual (BPRv).</p>

<p>A dona-de-casa Regina Gomes Patrício, mãe dos cabos e de uma filha e um outro filho que também é PM, Regina Gomes Patrício, fez um desabafo emocionado.</p>

<p>&#8220;Só tenho a 7ª série, mas dei o Ensino Médio a todos os meus filhos. Os culpados são os pais, que não dão educação aos filhos. Povo da favela, povo do morro, nasceu o filho de vocês, modele ele desde o berço. A gente não pode esperar chegar os 14, 15 anos. Eles estarão perdidos. Se for do berço, eles serão obedientes e amigos de vocês. Jamais vão cair na vida, virar traficante e deixar toda sociedade apavorada&#8221;, desabafou.</p>

<p>Em nota, a assessoria de imprensa da Polícia Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro afirmou que o GAM adqüiriu, em setembro deste ano, uniformes especiais para todos os tripulantes. Entretanto, segundo o órgão, os macacões de vôo não foram aprovados por não atenderem às exigências técnicas do edital e que o fabricante foi inquirido para que fizesse os ajustes necessários para o atendimento das necessidades do grupamento.</p>

&#8220;Ricostruisco a me stesso la mia vita artistica: i miei quadri corrispondono alle vicende della mia vita e segnano le tappe dei dolori, dei piaceri da me provati nei diversi periodi della mia vita. Questa conclusione mi si presenta un giorno, nel quale, mettendo in ordine cronologico le fotografie dei miei quadri avverto in essi una continuità di pensiero.&#8221; (Emilio Longoni dal catalogo Skira).<br />

Un sentiero dentro la pittura. </p>
<p>Mercoledì 21 ottobre alle 18.30 inaugura presso la Galleria d&#8217;Arte Moderna di Milano di Via Palestro la mostra curata da Giovanna Ginex &#8220;Emilio Longoni 2 collezioni&#8221;. L&#8217;occasione arriva dalla Banca di Credito Coperativo di Barlassina di celebrare i 150 anni della nascita del pittore. Per l&#8217;occasione le due importanti collezioni vengono presentate insieme in un unica mostra in forma di installazione che ho avuto la fortuna di allestire nella sala della Villa Reale.<br />
Ci sono due pensieri che contengono questa installazione: contenere tutte le opere in una architettura che abbia una dimensione autonoma rispetto allo spazio della Villa Reale (pur costruendo momenti di dialogo) e un secondo pensiero legato ad una idea immersiva della fruizione, di appartenenza empatica, emotiva con la pittura.<br />
L’idea non concerne il guardare opere ma entrare in un cammino seguito nell’arco della vita da Emilio Longoni, una vera passeggiata tra le persone, le cose e i paesaggi visti per noi dal pittore. Ricostruire la percezione che, come scrive lo stesso pittore, gli si ricompone davanti quando rimette in sequenza le sue opere. Un percorso che nel tempo si è sempre più staccato dalla vita sociale per approdare sui vasti paesaggi alpini. Una passeggiata di walseriana memoria: un cammino verso un’esperienza ad occhi aperti e senza pregiudizi. In sintesi, l’allestimento è un sentiero e un sentire le opere di Emilio Longoni.<br />

<p><strong>Médicos do Distrito Federal têm gratificação adicionada ao salário</strong><br />
Foi sancionada a lei que estipula a incorporação da Gratificação de Atividade Médica (GAM) para os médicos do Distrito Federal. O momento da sanção foi marcado por uma solenidade realizada na tarde da última quarta-feira (14/10) na sede do Sindicato dos Médicos do DF (Sindimédico/DF) e contou com a presença do governador José Roberto Arruda.<br />
A incorporação da GAM vai representar um aumento real de 40% no salário dos médicos, que será acrescido gradualmente até 2011. A gratificação também não interfere no Plano de Cargos Carreiras e Vencimentos (PCCV) da categoria.<br />
Atualmente, o vencimento básico do médico que trabalha 20h/semanais na rede pública do DF é de mil reais e com as gratificações chegava até R$ 3,6 mil, mas como as gratificações não eram incorporadas ao vencimento podiam ser retiradas ou suprimidas. Com a incorporação da GAM, o médico tem a segurança jurídica que seu salário não será diminuído.<br />

<p>O governador José Roberto Arruda sancionou a lei que cria a incorporação da Gratificação de Atividade Médica (GAM) para os médicos do Distrito Federal. A medida representará um aumento real de 40% nos salários dos médicos, que serão acrescidos gradualmente até 2011. A gratificação também não interfere no Plano de Carreira, Cargos e Vencimentos (PCCV) da categoria. Para a sanção da nova lei, foi realizada uma solenidade na tarde da última quarta-feira (14/10), na sede do Sindicato dos Médicos do DF (Sindimédico/DF), com a presença do governador, que esteve pela primeira vez na sede da entidade.</p>

<p>Những gam màu cơ bản rất dễ sử dụng, ứng dụng được trong nhiều hoàn cảnh, thời tiết, môi trường&#8230; khác nhau, nhưng không phải vì thế mà bạn được quyền mix đồ tùy thích đâu! Tất cả phải có nguyên tắc cần tuân thủ tuyệt đối:<br />
- Không phải cứ đồ màu trầm nào là cũng kết được với nhau, còn phụ thuộc xem chúng có &#8220;match&#8221; với nhau hay không nữa! Đó là điều mà bạn phải cân nhắc rất kĩ lưỡng, tránh biến mình thành một nàng hề style.<br />
- Không được có quá nhiều gam trầm trong một bộ trang phục xuống phố. Trước khi mặc, bạn phải chọn kĩ càng từ trang phục cho tới những phụ kiện đi kèm. Tốt nhất chỉ nên có 2-3 màu là vừa, nhiều quá sẽ gây khó khăn cho việc mix đồ.<br />
- Nếu mặc gam trầm mà có một màu khác hẳn, thì đó sẽ là màu của chất liệu Jeans, thường là đi kèm với quần Jeans. Chỉ &#8220;ưu tiên&#8221; cho đúng màu khác tông này thôi nhá, các màu khác tạm thời cho &#8220;nghỉ chơi&#8221; cái đã!</p>

<p>- Giày màu trầm nào đi với trang phục màu trầm đó, tức là ton-sur-ton đấy ạ. Có điều, một đôi giày màu đen thì có thể &#8220;làm bạn&#8221; với tất cả các bộ cánh có gam trầm. Bí kíp này giúp bạn vừa tiện lợi vừa tiết kiệm nhá!<br />
- Cũng lại là màu đen, legging màu đen rất &#8220;thân thiện&#8221; trong việc mix đồ theo gam trầm và cả những màu sắc, chất liệu quần legging khác cũng sẽ là điểm cộng nếu bạn mặc một bộ váy hoặc quần short gam trầm.<br />
- Chất liệu cotton, dạ mỏng, thun lạnh hay kaki&#8230; sẽ làm vẻ đẹp và độ hấp dẫn của gam màu trầm được tôn lên rất nhiều. Và vì thế, người mặc cũng sẽ được &#8220;hưởng sái&#8221; nữa!<br />
- Nếu có thể, hãy sử dụng những trang sức lấp lánh và đồng bộ khi đi dạ tiệc tối, vì chắc chắn chúng sẽ làm cho bạn cũng như trang sức lấp lánh của bạn nổi bật hơn bao giờ hết.<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p dir="rtl"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-486" title="Centennial Parade Celebrations" src="http://jordandaily.wordpress.com/files/2009/10/centennial-parade-celebrations.jpg?w=300" alt="Centennial Parade Celebrations" width="300" height="225" />احتفلت<strong> </strong>أمانة عمان الكبرى يوم الجمعة الماضي بالذكرى العاشرة لجلوس قائد الوطن على العرش ومرور مئة عام على إنشاء أول مجلس بلدي للمدينة. ورعى الاحتفال مندوبا عن جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني رئيس الوزراء نادر الذهبي، وحضره عدد من أصحاب السمو الملكي الامراء والاميرات والاشراف ورئيس مجلس الاعيان وعدد من رؤساء الوزارات السابقين والوزراء وأمين عمان والاعيان والنواب وكبار المسؤولين من مدنيين وعسكريين ورؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية العربية والاجنبية في الاردن.</p>
<p dir="rtl">وانطلقت المسيرة من المدرج الروماني مخترقة شارع الهاشمي وصولاً إلى أمانة عمان في رأس العين، وأحاط بها على جانبي الطريق آلاف الأشخاص من أهالي عمان والمدن والقرى الأردنية الذين استمتعوا بمشاهدة العروض الكرنفالية المختلفة، فيما تابعها المشاهدون من خلال شاشات التلفزيون الأردني في بث حي مباشر على الهواء .</p>
<p dir="rtl">هذا وتعتبر المسيرة واحدة من أبرز الفعاليات الجماهيرية في برنامج احتفالات المئوية والذي كانت الأمانة قد أطلقته مطلع هذا العام وشمل أنشطة وفعاليات متنوعة منها الاحتفالات التكريمية، والمؤتمرات والملتقيات، والندوات والإصدارات المختلفة، إلى جانب الفعاليات الفنية والموسيقية والثقافية والرياضية وفعاليات متنوعة للأطفال وفعاليات جماهيرية كمهرجان صيف عمان، وماراثون عمان.</p>
<p dir="rtl">وقال أمين عمان المهندس عمر المعاني، &#8220;إن المسيرة التي تعتبر تتويجاً لاحتفالات الأمانة بمئويتها هدفت إلى الاحتفاء بالمدينة وأهلها الطيبين الذين شيدوا بنيانها وعاصروا نهضتها واسترشدوا بتوجيهات القيادة الهاشمية الحكيمة لتصبح عمان اليوم مدينة حديثة متطورة تحث الخطى لتحقق رؤيتها وتكون مدينة عصرية آمنة ذات روح تعتز بتراثها وحضارتها&#8221;.</p>
<p dir="rtl"> وأكد المهندس المعاني أن المسيرة عكست بما تضمنته من فعاليات  متميزة مسيرة المائة عام الماضية من عمر عمان والتي شهدت تطوراً كبيراً في شتى الميادين، وتدرجت من قرية صغيرة إلى عاصمة حديثة ومن مجلس بلدي إلى أمانة عمان الكبرى، وتخطت العديد من التحديات ، فضلاً عن تطور مفهوم ومستوى ونوعية الخدمات التي تقدم للعمانيين.</p>
<p dir="rtl">وثمن المعاني جهود جميع الجهات المشاركة في تنظيم المسيرة من القوات المسلحة والأمن والعام والدرك ودائرة السير والدفاع المدني مما أسهم بإخراجها بهذه الصورة الجميلة .</p>
<p dir="rtl">كما ثمن مشاركة ودعم القطاع الخاص وحرصهم على تعزيز المسؤولية الاجتماعية بين مؤسسات المجتمع.</p>

<p dir="rtl">وقال  مستشار أمين عمان لشؤون الاستثمار والسياحة، خالد برقان، &#8220;أن ألأمانة سعت من خلال تنظيمها لهذه الفعالية الضخمة لأن تكون احتفالية وطنية الروح عالمية المستوى، كما وتعمل الأمانة على جذب اهتمام المواطنين والمجتمع المحلي بكافة شرائحه، وحثهم على المشاركة في ملتقى واحد باعتباره حدثاً وطنياً غير مسبوق يعزز الشعور بالوحدة الوطنية وروح الانتماء في نفوس المواطنين حيال منطقة وسط البلد بصفتها المنطقة التي شهدت مولد عمان&#8221;.</p>
<p dir="rtl">وبين برقان أنه ومنذ تأسيس أول مجلس بلدي عام 1909، شهدت عمان تغيرات كبيرة ونمواً هائلاً، إذ تحولت من قرية صغيرة لا يتجاوز عدد سكانها بضعة آلاف إلى مدينة مليئة بالحيوية عدد سكانها 2.25 مليون على مساحة إجمالية تبلغ 1700 كيلومتر مربع.</p>
<p dir="rtl">وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن فكرة تنظيم مسيرة كاحتفال جماهيري قد استنبطت من التاريخ القديم للمنطقة والحضارة العربية التي لم تكن المسيرات الاحتفالية بغريبة عنها، خاصة في زمن الدولة العثمانية، حيث كانت المسيرات على مر التاريخ رمزاً هاماً من رموز الاحتفالات بالمناسبات الوطنية والمهمة. فقد رافقت المواكب الاحتفالية الخلفاء في جميع المناسبات، وكان أول موكب احتفالي رمضاني يقام عادة عند حلول الشهر الكريم ورؤية هلاله، كما اشتهر موكب الخليفة للخطب في الجمعة الثانية والثالثة والرابعة والتي كان يوزع فيها الصدقات منذ خروجه من باب القصر وحتى العودة إليه. ‏أما موكب عيد الفطر الذي عرف بـ (الموسم الكبير) فكان من أشهر وأهم المواكب الاحتفالية في الدولة الإسلامية.</p>
<p dir="rtl">ومثلت المركبات المشاركة في الحفل 10 عقود مرت على عمان تمثل تاريخ المدينة وحاضرها ومستقبلها  وأهلها ، وقسمت إلى عشر حقب زمنية ( عقد)، تحتفل كل حقبة بأهم الأحداث التي شكّلت منعطفاً تاريخياً في مسيرة المدينة. وتقدم كل حقبة زمنية مركب مزين متحرك- Float تبعته الوحدات المتنوعة التي عبقت بالحياة وزخرت بالألوان كما هي عمان.</p>
<p dir="rtl">كما ضمت الوحدات المشاركة والمتنوعة أكثر من 2000 مشارك والعشرات من الوحدات والعروض المتحركة (المركبات المزينة)، الخيالة والهجانة وعروض جوية، ووحدات المشاة من: فرق موسيقية وفلكلورية ، وطلاب المدارس والجامعات وفرق الكشافة ، وممثلي النقابات والمهنية بالإضافة إلى الشخصيات الترفيهية .</p>
<p>وكانت الأمانة قد أعلنت عن توفير وسائل نقل خاصة لنقل المواطنين وعملت على توفير 80 حافلة  نقل مجاني ورحلة لقطار الخط الحديد الحجازي الأردني  ، لنقل المواطنين الى موقع الإحتفالية إنطلقت من سبع مواقع مختلفة في العاصمة.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Amman Centennial Parade, the people&#8217;s celebration of the city took place Friday October 9th in downtown Amman from the Roman amphitheater to the Municipality&#8217;s City Hall in Ras Al-Ein.<br />
A happy event, with happy people celebrating Amman in an urban festival that the city has been thirsty for.</p>
<p>Nothing &#8220;booombastic&#8221; about the organized event, not even fireworks! But people exchanged &#8216;vibes&#8217; with their city. I tried to capture faces which TV cameras usually skip, so here&#8217;s some pictures- no rights reserved!</p>
