Despite being the worst video game player in the history of video games [seriously, it's embarrassing], I really want to attend Game Night 3 at GR2. I want to meet the guys behind Meat Bun and I want the newest shirt they made specifically for GR. Game Night 3 will take place on October 16 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm.

In conjunction with the Attract Mode videogame culture shop, Giant Robot is proud to host Game Night, an event that takes place at GR2 every two months. Each evening will feature a different developer and its games in a relaxed, community-building setting. For the third Game Night, Giant Robot is doing something a little different, and presenting the independent clothing brand Meat Bun.

Meat Bun is a Los Angeles-based collective of T-shirt designers who are influenced equally by the obscure videogames they grew up with and high-end Japanese T-shirt companies such as King of Games and Beams (who work with Nintendo and key manga artists, respectively). As a result, Meat Bun designs instantly resonate with hardcore gamers without screaming “nerd.” Understanding the videogame references is totally unnecessary to appreciate cool Meat Bun designs such as “Fight Night,” “Ninjawarrior,” or “4th Gen.”

For Game Night 3, Meat Bun is celebrating the latest and greatest of mainstream and indie games by selecting Super Street Fighter IV and soon-to-be-released Super Meat Boy to project onto a wall for attendees’ gaming pleasure. Cha siu bao (meat buns) will be provided by gr/eats–which is also preparing a special menu–and eight Meat Bun T-shirts will be made available at the store. The newest Meat Bun design will be unveiled, as well, made specifically as a benefit project for Giant Robot magazine.

Plus I want to try the Meatbun bento box from gr/eats next door. Cute food WIN!!
