Heute scheint wohl Gameloft Day zu sein. Nur kurz nach dem Veröffentlichen des GT Racing Trailers, gibt es jetzt einen weiteren zum Ego Shooter Nova. Man beachte nur die starke Ähnlichkeit zu Halo. Der Held aus Nova sieht sehr verdächtig nach Masterchief aus und der Gegner von der 53. Sekunde erinnert wohl nicht ganz zufällig an einen Brute.

Wie vor kurzem berichtet, arbeitet Gameloft an einer Rennsimulation für iPhone & iPod Touch. Nun hat der Hersteller einen Trailer vom Intro veröffentlicht und nocheinmal bestätigt, dass GT Racing Motor Academy über 100 lizensierte Rennboliden verfügen wird. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass es sich um einen vorgerenderten Trailer handelt, der keine echte Spielgrafik zeigt.

Xbox hat Forza, Playstation und PSP haben Gran Turismo. Fast jede Konsole hat ihre Qualitätsmarke in Sachen Rennsimulation. Sogar iPhone & iPod Touch haben eine Rennsim, die sich sehen lassen kann: Real Racing von Firemint – doch schon bald soll der Titel von von der Spieleschmiede Gameloft ordentliche Konkurrenz erhalten.

Derzeit ist der Titel noch in Bearbeitung, sodass noch keine Screenshots oder Videos verfügbar sind. Doch die Kollegen von Toucharcade durften den kommenden Rennspielburner namens “GT Racing” anzocken und teilten ein paar Eindrucke und Infos mit uns:

GT Racing soll um die 100 lizensierte Autos im Fuhrpark haben, verteilt auf 24 Hersteller. Mit denen wird man auf echten Strecken fahren können. Viele der Autos werden ein Cockpit besitzen, dass dem echten ähnlich sieht. Um den Motorsound muss man sich auch keine Sorgen machen, denn jede Klasse wird wird akustisch dem Typ angepasst.

Fahrhilfen, wie zb.: automatisches Bremsen oder traktionskontrolle lassen sich ein und abschalten. Damit dürften Profis gefordert und Anfänger gefördert werden.

Geld verdienen, Tunen, Wettereffekte – alles wird dabei sein und auch an den Multiplayer hat Gameloft gedacht. Sage und schreibe 6 Spieler werden im lokalen WLAN, per Bluetooth oder Online gegeneinander antretten können.

Laut Toucharcade soll die Grafik phänomenal sein – das glauben wir natürlich! Falls das doch nicht stimmen sollten, so erfahren wir spätestens Anfang 2010 die Wahrheit. Dann soll GT Racing nämlich erscheinen.

Als Gameloft erwähnte, das missionsbasierte Rennspiel Driver aus dem Jahre 1999 für iPhone und iPod Touch zu remaken, ging die Frage um sich, ob es denn auch tatsächlich an das Playstation und PC Original von damals herankommen könnte. Jegliche Zweifel an die Qualität vom kommenden Driver Remake haben keinerlei Daseinsberechtigung, wenn man sich die folgende Screenshots und Informationen ansieht.

Wie man sehen kann, wurde die Grafik Engine sogar verbessert und wirkt nicht mehr so verpixelt, wie die Playstation Version. Die neue iPhone & iPod Touch Version verwendet schärfere Texturen und brillantere Farben. Fans der ursprünglichen Spieles beschwerten sich über den hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad. Das hat sich Gameloft zu Herzen genommen und bietet neben der originalen Schwierigkeitsstufe auch ein leichtere für Gelegenheitsspieler an. Damit dürfte die berüchtigte Garagenmission auch für Normalsterbliche zu schaffen sein. Gameloft verspricht sogar die gleiche Physik Engine des Originals zu verwenden. Das einzige, was nicht aus der Originalfassung übernommen wurde, soll aufgrund der Komplexität der Filmeditor sein.

Releastermin soll Mitte Dezember sein.

Skater Nation – очевидно е “леко” вдъхновена от Tony Hawk Pro Skater серията, Skater Nation смята да вдигне летвата що се отнася до скейт симулатори в App Store-а.

Енджина които задвижва играта, е братовчед на този седящ зад Gangstar: West Coast Hustle
Сред по интересните детайли:
- отворен свят;
- фрий мод, и кариера с избор между 6 персонажа и серия от 36 челинджа които отключват екипировка и още 2 допълнителни скейтъра;
- Ще има възможност да преглеждате последните 3-4 минути геймпей, и да правите клипчета които да качвате в YouTube;
Играта се очаква тези дни по празниците, а за сега като недостатък се изтъква единствено липсата на кървав рагдол при пребиване

Tom Clancy’s HAWX – мхм, точно така. Доста любопитния и вървежен симулатор за кашон, пс3 и pc идва и за iPod touch/iPhone

Играта ще включва 25 самолета и 13 мисии. Също така, HAWX ще включва локален мултиплейър през Bluetooth или WiFi за до 4 човека, като режимите ще бъдат детмач и тийм детмач. За съжаление, явно не се придвижва онлайн мултиплейър

В идеалният случай, Tom Clancy’s HAWX трябва да излезе преди края на годината.

Driver - колкото и да не съм фен на Gameloft, няма как да отрека че тази последна новина в репорта ме развълнува… много!

Мхм, ЛЕГЕНДАТА се завръща! И то как. Gameloft са хванали оригиналният Driver и са го портнали за iPod touch/iPhone от до! Очевидци твърдят, че играта има идентична физика и поведение на автомобилите както PC оригинала. Както сигурно забелязвате от скрийншота, графиката дори е била подобрена малко, а текстурите “понадупени” за да изглеждат адекватно и конкурентно

Автомобилите в играта ще има пълна демидж система, и точно както в оригинала ще имаме цели 4 града, всеки един с размерите на целия град от Gangstar: West Coast Hustle! Освен това се споменава и подобрен интерфейс и GPS система. Единственото нещо чиято липса ще забележим осезаемо (спрямо оригинала) е отсъствието на replay editor, но ако всичко останало е както трябва… ще им простя!

Ако и вие сте фенове на оригинала, сигурно си спомняте, че нивото на трудност беше… БРУТАЛНО (човече, налагаше се да чийтваме трейнинга, иначе не можеше да подкараме играта!). По случая Gameloft са разработили, easy мод, но за щастие са запазили и оригиналното ниво на трудност!

За финал, пичовете са запазили всички оригинални филмчета и вой овъри от оригиналният Driver от 1999 г. РИспект! Чакам с нетърпение!

Ayer mismo se anunciaba oficialmente que Capcom y Gameloft han alcanzado un acuerdo para distribuir juegos en Europa, Medio Oriente y África. Atención porque este acuerdo cubre solamente juegos java, es decir no son juegos para iPhone, Android u otros sistemas. Además los juegos vienen ya desarrollados por Capcom, es decir que se trata de un acuerdo tan sólo de distribución. Felicidades a todos los usuarios de móviles, ¡a disfrutar!

París – Gameloft®, líder en desarrollo y edición de videojuegos descargables, ha anunciado hoy un acuerdo con Capcom Mobile™ para publicar 6 nuevos títulos: Resident Evil®: Uprising, Street Fighter® Alpha, Super Puzzle Fighter™ II Turbo, Lost Planet™ 2, Dead Rising™ 2 and Where’s Wally 2. Visto que ha habido una serie de rumores por la blogosfera en relación a una supuesta retirada de la inversión en desarrollo de Gameloft en el sistema operativo Android, hemos preparado un desmentido en forma de nota de prensa para aclarar este asunto. El origen de estas noticias inexactas son unas declaraciones de Alexandre Rochefort, Financial Director de Gameloft, en las cuales se hablaba del superior rendimiento financiero de los juegos de iPhone en relación a los juegos de Android. Esto no significa que Gameloft esté dejando de desarrollar para Android. Más bien al contrario. Hay una serie de proyectos en marcha para la segunda generación de móviles Android. Más detalles en la nota de prensa oficial que reproduzco abajo:

It’s not that the idea of a racing sim on the DS is impossible but it doesn’t seem likely due to the limited control options and the underpowered hardware. Asphalt GT 4 tries to rethink that idea but other than some early promise, the game falls flat. Every bit of potential is squandered and playing through the game feels very uninspiring.

Asphalt GT 4 has several modes of play with the career mode taking center stage. The game offers a limited selection of name-brand automobiles to choose from but the cars available are quite interesting since it’s not a given that a racing title will have Ferrari brand cars (in a downloadable title, nonetheless). You can only select from a few cars at the beginning and have a few tune-up options. The career mode allows you to race in several cities although some are closed off until later on in the game. There are different race modes within each city such as a traditional race, beat ‘em all (which requires you to knockout a preset number of cars), duel (which is a one-on-one against the computer), cash grab (which isn’t really a race except you need to get as much money as possible during the race), and cop chase (where your sole objective is to knockout the computer-controlled car in the lead position). As you make your way through the game, you gain cash which allows you to buy more cars and tune-up parts as they become available. The easiest way to gain cash is by winning races and knocking out opponents although you can also gain cash by performing long drifts and jumps, causing urban havoc, as well as running into dollar signs littered on the race track. Performing well will also cause you to level up which opens up access to new cities and race modes within previous open cities. Leveling up also grants access to new cars and parts as well. There’s also a feature that allows you to take pictures of yourself or other things and put them into the game. It’s a cute feature but doesn’t really add anything to the experience. There’s also a multiplayer component to the game but it’s only local; no online. The problem is that you to play multiplayer, you need to be playing against someone who also has a copy of the game. Good luck with that.

Controls are simple although they are customizable if you decide you don’t like the default setup. One button represents the gas, another the break, and one more is for a nitro boost. The nitro can be used as long as you have fuel in your nitro tank represented by a bar at the lower left portion of the screen. You can steer using the d-pad or you can try steering using the touch screen (by running your finger to the left or the right along a displayed steering wheel). The d-pad is the way to go even though the touch-screen does provide for better control. The two problems with the touch-screen as a means to steer is that it’s awkward to use and it does have a steep learning curve. Even though it’s not as realistic, the d-pad does the job. It doesn’t give you the driving simulation experience but it handles just fine for a racing game.

The game plays more like an arcade racer than a simulation even though on quick glance it feels like it should fall into the latter category. Drifting is a skill that is required to do well in the game and win some of the more difficult challenges. The drifting mechanic feels too floaty to be realistic and some of the things you can do with your automobile (like controlling your cars position while in mid-air) are not representative of a sim. The learning curve of the controls is a bit broken because once you learn how to drift properly and time your nitro boost use just right, it really doesn’t matter which car you have because you’ll dominate any race. The opponents don’t get harder so once you learn how to drive properly; it’s mostly your race to lose. The only opposition is the tracks which get more complicated as they open up. However, since there is a limited amount of tracks and you have to do four events per course, you’ll know the maps very well by the end.

There’s also a feature that allows you to take pictures of yourself or other things and put them into the game. It’s a cute feature but doesn’t really add anything to the experience. There’s also a multiplayer component to the game but it’s only local; no online. The problem is that you to play multiplayer, you need to be playing against someone who also has a copy of the game. Good luck with that.

The RPG element of the game where you rank up after winning and scoring cash is bizarre. At the beginning, you’ll be screaming up the ranks which nets you more courses to run through and more cars and parts to buy. The problem is as you get closer towards the end of the game, winning a race no longer guarantees raising your level ranking. In fact, you may have to do a couple of races to raise your ranking. This wouldn’t be an issue if there were tons of things to do but there are a limited number of races so there’s a chance you’ll have completed all the courses and challenges available to you at the time and you’re stuck in this rut waiting for more things to open up. It really kills the game. Also, there appears to be no ending in that once you reach the highest ranking and win every last race, nothing happens. There are no credits or congratulatory screen. Games don’t need complicated send-offs but it is still nice to know that you’ve accomplished something.

Asphalt GT feels like a very unpolished game. The racing is not bad and in short spurts it’s adequate. However, if you’re craving an intense racing experience on the DS, you’re going to be very disappointed. Some might argue that since it is DSiWare and carries a very low price that the game shouldn’t be held up to high standards. However, considering the hardware power of the DS and that there are other racing games on the system that run well (like Grid or TrackMania), there’s no excuse for such a lame product. Download if you’re flush with money and have gone through every other racing game in the DS library. Otherwise, don’t bother.
