The Indian flowers are used quite extensively by the Indian people during wedding ceremonies. In fact, no wedding can be celebrated in India without flowers. The cake is the central aspect of the night and everyone really waits for the moment when the bride and groom will first cut the cake and perhaps follow the messy tradition of feeding each other a piece.

It has been a crazy time. After Amit’s wedding, I was at Gurgaon and in process took 5 flights in one week. My ears are still blocked due to air pressure change and cold and cough.

Priyanka and Papa came this Friday with all the things for the house I rented and this saved me a trip to Indore.

Once the house was in place, we decided to visit Rajesh bhai at Kalol and then to Akshardham, Gandhi Nagar. It was a beautiful place. We also went to see the Adalaj ki Vav, a five-storied steep well built in 1498 on our way back.

My father was so thrilled when he drove the car at 130 KMPH on the National Expressway number 1.

Today he is celebrating his 67th birthday and I am planning to take him out to watch a movie if he agrees to go out.

Rest later!

Mata Mansa Devi temple is located in the foothills of Shivalik range in the Panchkula district. The present main temple of Sri Mansa Devi was constructed by Maharaja Gopal Singh of Manimajra around the period 1811-1815. The temple is dedicated to the worship of goddess Shakti and is an evidence of the age old survival of Shaktism in India.

There are two temples in the complex of Mata Mansa Devi temple. Originally the deity, Mansa along with Devi Saraswati and Lakshmi were worshipped in the form of stone pebbles called as Pindi. But now for giving the goddess an attractive look, form has been given to a marble and the marble bust is also worshipped in modern times. Also, the architecture of the temple is a typical mogul style rather than the “Nagara” style which was prevalent in the Shivaliks.

It is believed that the lingam form of Lord Shiva that is worshipped here was born of itself unlike other lingams which were enshrined or established. Also, another unusual thing about the Lingam is that it is south facing. Also there are other deities who are enshrined in the temple complex. The temple has five levels which includes the basement level too. The day of Mahashivaratri sees a huge fair that is held here near the temple and worshipping of the deity Lord Shiva goes for the night.
